Trialling a CDN
As for the Non-Technical aspect. We here at Tip.it strive to provide the best user experience possible while not sacrificing our users privacy and security. We have two IT Professionals on staff with degrees from university's and industry experience - we would not put our users into danger to speed up our website. Our CDN handles very respectable clients like Mashable, Garmin, Readwriteweb and Earthday.org. As far as your profile image - you are aware currently if you Google your display name and go to images - two results come up already from this forum and another. You can google your display name and see multiple other communities and forums, infact just to prove a point, I found your email publicly posted on one of those sites. I don't know why you're worried with a CDN's privacy on tip.it when you can find out your email you put on public record on another site. I'll pm you the link.

End of an Era... probably...
Or Merchants - which Skone was. Or because names like Erixson, Sandytrain, I Wicked I, Masterlance, who da best, footballguru, dmxkobe8, zar family 2, levidog, azot, judiacator or any well known fighter from classics are as equally obscure - Ladykilljoy? Zongui? Maniac 666? PVP, Skillers, merchant, fansite admin, clan leader - it doesn't matter, in time you will be forgotten.

End of an Era... probably...
Who are Bluerose13x and Larryr? Bluerose13x - first to 99 smith, revolutionized rune and ran the economy herself Larryr - #1 runecrafer for ages If I had to pick one player for the biggest impact on runescape - bluerose - yet that guy doesnt know her. Proof the game as a collective will never give a damn about a boss hunter or ANYONE. Names like L6VI, TKS, XXcavalierxX, bonebreaker6, Skone751 have all but faded from relevancy as well and all were considered game "legends" at one point. Players come and go - great players - good players - the game moves on like a cog. Unaffected.

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
Transformers has made hasbro lots of money. Here is a slide from the toyfare 2010 (where hasbro sells retailers products) I don't think Hasbro is hurting for money as far as merchandising goes. Secondly it struck me as i remember reading about a transformers MMO before and sure enough Hasbro originally gave the liscence to netdragon http://www.rpgrank.com/pc_gaming_news_NetDragon-Websoft-Inc-Team-Up-with-Hasbro-to-Develop-Transformers-Online_online_4739.html Maybe it will sink like Titanic Bot? Bootleg and cheap but still considered popular due to the sheer absurdity of it ! Is it really hurting anything?

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
Beat that? I have half of the G1 casts autographs from Frank Welker to Don Messick. I'm too lazy to watermark my graphs, but i'm sure the staff members can vouch for my collection, it's scope and it's insanity overall. Personally I didn't mind the new toys, as more transformers/joes = bigger battles in my living room. Bigger battles = more fun. Jetfires shoulder broke on me - Which holds the record as one of my two broken toys (o-rings in joes never counted as broken imo). I personally didn't think the insecticons were any more odd than the dinobots (Dinobot island is better than insect robots? really? :P - and grimlock is hands down my favorite transformer. ) either way, i'd take aliens/insects/anything over stupid ones from the movie like the mountain dew machine one. Before the 82 Real American Heroes toylines the joes were 12 inch dolls, hardly the 3 3/4 inch toyline that went over a decade and spawned 2 cartoons, an animated movie, and a 100+ issue comic book run by marvel comics. I'm still working on completing the full run of gi joe figures when I can. The Aircraft carrier you're referring to is the USS Flag and you could easily fit two skystrikers and the Tomahawk chopper or 5 or 6 Dragonfly copters - thing's like 7 feet long. thing was like what $89.99 in 1985 for inflation thats like a $200 toy today, Lol

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
Did you watch the same transformer animated movie i did? I honestly think you're just talking to talk. the main purpose of the movie was to effectively kill off the entire toybox or the majority of it and bring in new characters to sell at retail - they did the SAME THING with GI Joe except they didn't kill off duke due to the backlash of primes death. Both Films introduce a ton of new characters intended to sell new toys. Buzz Dixon (Hasbro big wig at the time) even said so on the extra features of one of the dvd releases or at joe/botcon. Some Transformers were good kills - the voice actor for Jazz died after the movie - And Casey Kasem left the show anyways. Both movies were guilty of bringing in "big name" voice actors to help sell the movie to parents. Nimoy (trek), Orson Wells (citizen kane...war of the worlds), Robert Stack (Untouchables), Judd Nelson (Breakfast club), Eric Idle (Monty Python) - all of these voice actors were replaced for the following season. Hot rod and Ultra Magnus were key characters just as much as galvatron - and that arguement is a fallacy. GI Joe brought in Burgess Meredith (Batman, rocky) Don Johnson (Miami Vice) , Jennifer Darling (Six Million Dollar Man), Sgt Slaughter (WWE), and other "household names. Infact, both shows used and made use of former TV stars. Gi Joe employed Kene Holiday and Lee Weaver (Matlock and Easy Street) and Transformers used guys like Alan Openhiemer, Roger Carmel, Scatman Crothers, Casey Kasem, Walker Edmiston and Aron Kincaid. Both casts has plenty of "Celebrities" doing roles before nimoy.

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
Nah, not at all. Michael Bell is still alive and doing conventions - He voiced Prowl, Swoop, Scrapper and some others. Jack Angel is still alive and well (Ultra Magnus) Susan Blu (Acree) is still alive and doing voice work Gregg Berger (Jetfire/Grimlock) is still around and does lots of conventions Wally Burr (writer) is still alive Arthur Burghardt - is alive, but not overly fond of transformers this day and age. Corey Burton (shockwave) - is alive and still doing voice acting, he was last in the clone wars cartoon. Victor Caroli - the narrator is still alive. Paul Eiding, Laurie Faso are still kicking Rodimus Prime (Dick Guatier) is still alive and well) Dan Gilvezan is still alive and well - he's quite young and still does some transformers work. Overall of 100ish total voice actors for the G1 Cartoon (From additional voices to one episode guys to main actors) only 12 or so are dead . Cool fact is most of the voice actors also worked on my favorite cartoon - gi joe :P

Chris Latta is a god to us. (i'm guessing you know Cobra Commander/Star Scream were the same guy)

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
You make a valid point on G1/G2 Graphics. However that fanbase is very touchy for accuracy and detail - you think runescape players whine? G1 Transformer fan's will be anal over a paint color. Voice acting is key for G1 - Some actors are dead (Latta for Starscream could be substituted perfectly by charles adler) - but the voice actors of prominent characters like Ratchet, Jazz, Thrust, Inferno are dead, Not to mention the voice of Devastator Arthur Burghardt - is pretty hateful to transformers fans and doesn't seem willing to touch anything transformer based currently. if it is G1 The story if it's "cannon" will only cause people to riot if something crazy happens. IF a character got killed from continuity from a videogame - god have mercy on any developers soul. Armada/Energon are interesting picks - but the cartoons were not as loved stateside - more of a comic thing. The toy lines did well. Beast Wars/Machines were fun as a kid, but man, going back to that animation in 2011 is hard to watch.

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
to be fair - I don't think it really matters who the hell does a transformer MMO, it just seems to me as a gamer and transformer toy/autograph collector that it's a doomed property.

Jagex to develop Transformers MMO for 2012.
I'm a huge transformers fan. Hell I've been working on a large majority of the original voice cast's autograph. But this will not work for many reasons. Transformers fans are Anal. there was a 98 page thread on a transformer forum about starscreams movie transformation being different than the cartoon - sure the movie was a success (I am working on the casts autographs of that too) - but diehard fans nitpicked it to death. Which universe do you do? G1 with the dinobots and insecticons or the movie universe that tends to rely on hot women and explosions, explosions explosions? The former was ruled out because movie audiances (mass lemmings) wouldn't buy dinosaur robots - and the later would require sex and graphics - two things that Jagex has been unable to do. Star Trek online had a huge licensee - certainly bigger than transformers. It blundered. Star Wars (one of hasbro's bigger sellers than transformer) flopped at galaxies. Conan has movies, comics and action figures - and also flopped. The game will need LOTS of voice acting and not random Jagex people in a studio. If Peter Cullen doesn't voice Prime, it's a failure. (Okay, Maybe Neil Kaplan) If Adler doesn't do star scream - it's a failure - if Weaving/Welker don't touch megatron - it will be odd. , it will need detailed intricate cutscenes - it will need a cohesive plot and questlines resolved (runescape sure as hell can't do that). Hasbro is also very controlling - it's well documented online where they required certain things to stay the same for the movies, essentially the creative control enjoyed with runescape will be very limited here. Secondly you will have combat. Let's take a look at devastator in the G1 Cartoon - he was defeated by the dinobots multiple times before brutally killing them in the movie. In the movie he was a blundering idiot with no real power (compared to his cartoon) - Which one do you use? War for cybertron was well designed, but both wii games failed hard. And i'd like to think Activision is slightly more successful than Jagex Who will play? Transformer toy colelctors are a deep pocketed group of old men - don't tell me kids buy the toys as Transformers Animated was a retail flop toy wise and clearenced out (I picked up the entire line almost at retail for 50-80% on markdowns - Hell I bought the StarScream for $4 - he was originally $25.) Transformers classics sell to adults - and most of them are the same guys who have posted in the same communities for years. I don't see them as avid MMO players. Very few of the toy collectors I know are (and I'm an avid user at other toy forums). Then you have the people who made the movies a hit - small kids and teens who either have parents buy them toys and won't be over 12 to play and teens who have Wow and other MMO's I call a flop.

Tip.It Times - 6th March 2011
It was nothing more than shock writing using accusations to try to get views/readers/users in a time that flat out - Tip.it was Pathetic. The moderation was awful and overbearing to an extent now that makes Tip.it Today look lawless and wild. As an administrator with access to the archives, No - you're not 100% Correct. The Database in 2004 was compromised by an exploit and the team at the time was too inept to figure out how to run a forum both as far as by providing content and technically. As an Administrator of tip.it - flat out - Tip.it deserved the humiliation they got at the time. If any site gets compromised - the users deserve to know. The old tip.it's mod's and admin team wasn't user friendly and thats an image i've worked hard for 3 years trying to repair. The fact i'm still working on it 3 YEARS later shows how seriously screwed up it got. Tip.it in your era was very cloak and dagger mysterious - The Adminstration today, wouldn't lie about it or cover it up and times have changed. I don't know if you play runescape now - But Jagex has changed and is alot less likely to give a crap about what was written and published this week vs what was published then. We have better things to do then to censor users or ban people for thier opinions. ~Das

Questioning Authority
like adrian i have questioned and been questioned upon. I typically got questioned when it involved someone getting kicked. People didn't like their buddies getting kicked for breaking our not so hard to follow rules. Seriously I didn't care how good of a tank, pker or cool guy in teamspeak you were - you botted - you were gone, Lol. As for here - I like people to question my rules. :P
