4 former clan staff posting in a row. All who know the stress of the job, the unforgiving workload, the flames and the lack of any gratitude by the community in general. I'd like to think you all know that it has a high turnover rate, and I can't blame any of you for that, some of you lost interest, had real life commitments and some moved on for other reasons, but I think you all know to various degrees how damn hard we looked for staff almost constantly how careful we are in selecting people that won't tarnish our image that we have worked so hard to build from what we came from. it's not an easy magical process to just make new people on staff. It's not easy staffing the clan section, all 4 of you know how hard it was to find pitiable candidates - I'm not saying they are not out there. They are. I can name every clan staff since we started our rebuild and each team had their own strengths and weaknesses. Each team had the same drive, passion, dedication. What I like to see though is intelligent input and users wanting this community to improve, when users act like community leaders, the opportunity is generally given because as an admin, I want users who are passionate and dedicated to this forum running it This is a community for the users, You want change, speak up and we will listen and work with you on making it happen or compromising because - This is your house. edit: I hope this post makes sense after superbowl partying. I didn't play long enough because i thought the rs2 release was utter crap - and *i* was punished. I was a second wave PMOD. NO WARNINGS, I played the game right - and still got wiped. This topic amuses because it seems to be the teenage angst "help me get laid please!1111!!! topic" While sex can be awesome, it's also a load of responsibility. You got babies, women who go nutty after you sleep with them (women tell me men do the same), STD's - it's not this big joyous safe fun experience like the ballpit at mcdonalds when you're little. Being a virgin, isn't a bad thing, it's a mark of respect, and self control at times, and sure while it may suck, I can name friends of mine who lost thiers and got herpes (talk about an experience for life) and crap like that. Sex is a healthy part of a relationship, but shouldn't be the damn focus, get to know them, watch the notebook, learn what they enjoy and like and become friends with them. The friend zone - is a bullshit zone that really doesn't exist :P My advice to people. STOP LOOKING for a relationship. You won't die of loneliness, you won't be a loser. Discover yourself, find your hobbies, figure out what you like and LIVE LIFE. LOVE LIFE. This is something I will look into. Not exactly - I was around then. You had 2 Mods, both who were biased and took criticism piss poorly, to make matters worse, the admin team in 04 didn't care about clans and locked the boards because they were too damn incompetent to actually figure out how to deal with them. Then they realized "clans create work" or something so they came up with bullshit rules like "posting on the half of others" - Basically the idiots banned half of DI within 2 weeks because declaring a war was posting on behalf of a banned leader. Anyways, if you argued with the mods - you got banned - i got banned myself for it and i can state firmly that 1) We've never banned someone for disagreeing with us or criticizing us. Infact I welcome and encourage intelligent criticism. 2) Our mods do not moderate in favor of one clan or the other - infact they are not allowed to moderate topics involving the clan they are in 3) Our clan staff, and adminstration - does care for the section and enjoy the work We're always looking too improve, and I will always listen to any arguments - however i'd like examples of us being "too harsh" and not just blanket statements ~Das

you raise alot of valid points Gamerr and I'll admit, i'd like to see our clan staff expand and add more moderators. If a sudden influx of top clans came, we would be severely understaffed. It's a fear of mine and one i'd love to correct, however currently now we can afford to pick who we want, as although we are overworked, we're not understaffed yet. I'd rather be careful in selecting staff to avoid making any rash decisions than just "load up". I am a fan of looser rules on flaming and stuff - I felt tip.it was too restrictive and pushed for it to be more lax - however if the community wants stricter, I can always help to change that :P I can say Joe/Yguy are clan first, rest of forums second. As far as the ranks go - Supermod just means joe can ban and Yguy likes off topic so he can mod in that as well. Both of these guys are heavily dedicated to clans and very focused on making this section better and brighter.

I was actually referring to the end of ScapeBoard when the domain and database were lost so the forums were started over basically from scratch :P Kinda glad DK3 the hosting company of scapeboard stole the databases and tried to sell us them. Fresh start did alot of people good .

i want everyone here. Big, little, small or large. Yes the workload will increase , but with more people, more people around who can mod, more people around who could do work. Pray tell.

This and for the most part, clans are formed for RS so if RS should die... then.... I Dont think ANY clan will survive... I'd have a hard time picturing ANY Rs fansite surviving longterm without the game actually being open.
