  1. I'd say enforcers earn a ring, they are brought in for a very specific purpose - same for floaters if they skate- they contribute

    I'll take it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0RKpmjjpLQ
  3. There are a few players that literally don't play at all. He's not referring to the subs, he's talking about the players that don't set foot on court unless it's practice, or if multiple players get injured. (by multiple, I mean like 3 or 4) IMO, they deserve a ring, because they still have to practice and train until one day 3 players get injured and they finally get in. Theres not a single member of the the 2009-2010 La Lakers who sat on the bench, Sure Luke Walton and Adam Morrison only got 300 Minutes, but they still contributed. In the NBA your average starter average 30-40 minutes of a 60 minute game. I can count on my hand the guys who average over 40. Seasons are long and guys get hurt - if you look at the heat, Miller has gotten hurt, Hasleem has gotten hurt, allowing guys to step in and get more minutes. Some guys may only get 100 minutes in a season total - but injuries, fouls and suspensions can clear playing time. I was unable to find a case where a man on a 15 man roster did not play at all - Can you find me an example to prove me wrong? 2009 Saints? Mark Brunell still took 8 passes Third string back Lynell Hamilton still got touches. Buck Ortega the last tight end on the bottom of the depth chart? Still played on special teams in a few games. Theres a superbowl winner and was unable to find a man on a 55 player roster who did not do play at all. Keep in mind most lineman are rotated out with bench players every few drives for freshness, Many lineman may not start a game, but play in all 16. The Same applies for defensive lineman. Running Backs get hurt easy, lots of teams use a back on third down or in "Garbage" time to preserve a starters health with a lead. The saints this year, have already signed backs due to injuries who were not on the roster (betts). Most linebackers play on special teams who are on the bench as do players of the secondary (and even then sometimes used for coverage). The only case you may have is a third string quarterback on a team somewhere - some backup QB's make more than starting positional players - however they are paid to emulate the opposing qb in practice. I can name about 10 teams who have played more than 1 QB this year for a significant amount of time (Steelers(Dixon, Batch,Big Ben, leftwich too?), 49ers (Alex Smith, Troy Smith, Carr), Lions (Stanton, Stafford, Hill), Eagles (Vick Kolb), Vikings(Favre, Jackson), Browns(McCoy, Delhomme, Wallace), Titans(Young, Collins, Smith), Panthers (Clasusen, Moore, Pike, St Pierre), Cowboys (Romo, Kitna), Redskins (Mcnabb, Sexy rexy is counting) , Dolphins (Henne, Pennington, Thigpin), Bills (Edwards, Fitzpatrick), Cardinals (Hall, Anderson, Skelton), Seahawks (Whitehurst, Hasselback), Raiders (Gradowski, Campbell), Broncos (Tebow, Orton). Pretty sure Garrad for Jax missed a game and Rogers for the packers may miss one as well. The bears used 3 in a game (Collins, Culter, some dude who got mauled) In the NFL you're a play away from being out for the year. While some teams do elect to carry three QB's - you're a play away from needing that "bench" player. In the case of Houston, Dan Orvlosky makes more money than NFL leading rusher Arian Foster. Football is a game of depth, you don't win without it, Find me one player who didn't earn a ring? Hockey has multiple lines that rotate for freshness and injuries - find me one hockey player Baseball is too dang confusing with the minor league call ups, but i was unable to find a baseball player who was benched for an entire year and just wasted away on a roster. You're either a casual fan or ignorant to think that the bottom of the depth chart is useless - this is what makes good teams great, and bad teams horrible. Some of the BEST nfl players are taken in the last rounds of the NFL draft. this proves bench depth IMO, These are guys drafted in the late rounds of the draft, or not at all. Undrafted players and significant players drafted from round 5-7 2005-2009 Arian Foster (RB Texans), Davone Bess wr2 Dolphins), Dan Carpente (K, Dolphins), BenJarvus Green-Ellis (RB Pats) Garrett Hartley (K Saints), Danny Woodhead (RB, Patriots) Kevin Boss (TE, Giants), Brent Celek (TE, Eagles), Nick Folk (K, Bengals, Made pro bowl with dallas) , Pierre Thomas (Saints) , Antoine Bethea (S, Colts) , Cortland Finnegan (CB, Titans)Johnny Knox (WR Bears) , Miles Austin (WR, Cowboys), Trent Cole (DE, Eagles) Derek Anderson (Went to the pro bowl) , Jay Ratliff (DT, Dallas) Madison Hedgecock (FB, Giants) Robbie Gould (K, Chicago), Jon Condo (LB, oakland), Joshua Cribbs (KR, Browns) , Heath Farwell (LB, Vikings) Leonard Weaver (Eagles, FB)

  6. I had no problem booting out cheaters in RSV, KoFH, and asides from BDK in classic, maybe a small smattering of clans promoted/didn't boot cheating scum. DDosing happened in classic, so did sharing, and god knows botting did too. The difference was the community frowned down on it and jagex went after it with an iron fist. Theres still probably some good clans out there that do not cheat and boot scum - You might ask me to name them - and i'll say i'm not in them to speak firsthand and nor have you been in them - with all due respect - you've been in the same clan for like...4? 5? years or longer - a clan that by most of the clan worlds standards is quite small. In my book thats weak As a clanleader you choose to make a stand and be different or not. In my book turning a blind eye to cheating makes you no better than Ni or Rot - I've known good clans who cared about image - now a days people are more apathetic, but thats because jagex is - not because the clan world is scum. Clans like HYT are chat rooms, not clans, lol. I disagree with the insane and sad views of "if jagex doesn't care" i shouldn't - it's your game people - cheating is wrong and if it bothers you then YES take a stand. What is right is not always popular, what is popular is not always right.
  7. let's see those facts, as a 8 year vetern, i'm concerned and feel jagex needs the money, considering how they used to have teeth.
  8. Heh no not exactly did you play classic? The dwarf experience mainly had people hack others and drop the disk so they would be stuck - but you could go down there and hand a disk to a stuck friend, it didn't require jagex to teleport you out Since I would say i've played since 2001, and I know what i'm talking about - i'll just leave this link here http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2item_id=500
  9. actually in classic you paid boot the dwarf like 10 gp and you went to the black hole - you got a disk of returning to get out. So no - people didn't break the rules in classic to "See" the black hole. Infact most cheaters in classic were named and shamed on the front page so people would KNOW they cheated - some are still controversial to this day, like Xxcavalierxx. In Classic Jagex had teeth, whereas now they do not.
  10. A piss poor ill thought example that anyone with a grasp of law/contracts and privacy would of not posted. Funny, i've always held you quite high in my shady morality clan leader rankings It's a inane observation to say bots control the game, or don't control the game, without real numbers, considering Jagex actually made an effort to cover it up on the forums for awhile, I would say it's because they are afraid of a backlash. Cheating devalues achievements clear and simple, it's wrong, they deserve to be banned. It obviously has economic side effects, but the economy has felt the effects of them for quite awhile, so it's a moot point. Agilty botting, icy botting and the other popular forms now, have a very minimal if negligible impact on the economy.
  11. Can you prove her wrong?
  12. Jagex went from being hardasses that brought down shame on to cheaters by naming them and shaming to now reducing the stats so they get more money from them...Lol rather spineless and pathetic.

  15. Damn arc druid, it's been awhile since i've seen you around.
  16. An Ignorant statement by a casual fan of sports. You earn championships with bench depth - no team is going to win with just it's starters. - Think i'm wrong - call me out on a championship team in MLB/NFL/NBA in the last 10 years

  21. That should be obvious...to be able to access it in the future. There is a reason the best clans don't let in just anyone. Comparing a clan to a public fansite generally doesn't work, As a guy with a near decade in fans, i'd be happy to argue why if you really want to go there.
  22. To follow up on tripsis A public private forum is a horrible idea for the boards in my view, a breeding ground for corruption and a flagrant way for people to rub elitism in others faces, we're all equal. I see No Limits to the douchebaggery (thats my made up word of the day) - that would occur in a public private board for the "best of the best" - people would think they are better than the others and look down on good members not in for whatever stupid reason critically, I've seen it done on other forums non-runescape related and being in both sides - never saw it work flawlessly. Just more resentment and a divided community. I'm against the idea - we need to come together in general as a community, not divide ourselves because we are assclowns who don't agree with each other and hate those who don't play like us. I couldn't bear to see our community be a divided elitist vs regular guy forum :(
  23. The Man sat alone at the back of the dimly lit tavern. Smoke filled the air as he watched the sparse amount of patrons move about the place. The smoke like a fog thick in the air served as both a veil and a curse making it harder to do what was his goal. He sipped at his scotch as he pondered the individual patrons. Some would be threats, some would be annoyances, some would serve other interests. Vices he thought as he sat down his scotch. Everyone here has one, no one is as strong as the facade they parade around like just like newly christened beauty queen in a parade - they act proud and strong but on the inside they are weak and insecure What drives a man to pursue this path in life? an event of horrible violence, a thirst for bloody Retribution? His story was irrelevant, he viewed the past as a window to his soul, something that he often needed detachment from to pursue his endeavors He sat down his half empty glass again as he eyes the barmaid with lustful eyes as he grinned under his fedora. smirking he mummers to himself. I guess even I have a weakness He surveys the tavern scene skillfully...waiting for something or something to make a move Character Profile: Real name Name: Jacob Spector Gender: Male Age: Early 20s Height: 6 ft. 4 in Weight: 250 lbs Main Combat Style: hand to hand Profession:Classified Specialties: Small Arms expert, expert marksman, hand to hand combat, has a dark power that few know Equipment : independently wealthy, supplies his own state of the line gear. Wears an obsidian amulet around his neck Fights with animal-like instinct and commands military esque battlefield intelligence. Has mastered the art of Melee Combat and is well Adapt in most small arms and hand to hand weapons. He has an ace in the hole he rarely uses due to the power and drawbacks of it. He's at a glance a highly religious and gentlel man, however his friends and family say he acts like he's distant and he's much more serious and cynical.. He is socially withdrawn, distrusting of strangers and paranoid of peoples intentions. He knows he has a secret agenda and others do as well. He places high values on honor and morality. He has an addiction to attractive women and likes lifes finer things
  24. The reason I suggested splitting a couple forums was that I got a sense you from one of your page 6 posts that you were frustrated with being forced to have a "hands off" approach to moderating while banning some users would help the problem. Splitting General Discussion would give you a justification to remove any posts (or even all the posts of a particular user) you felt were too elitist and disrespectful without being bad enough to warrant moderation under the current system from most forums. It is indeed naive to believe that some of the posters under fire won't go out of their way to cause trouble. This would just allow you to deal with them without any controversy concerning overmoderation. Right now only the absolute worst posts are removed, when most of the outcry seems to be over subtle or controlled flaming, elitism, baiting, etc Woah, thats the last vibe I want to give out, I'd rather not ban anyone who didn't break the rules because they were a jackass or annoying.
