  1. I agree that it could have given the wrong ideas, but they never discouraged me from having the right ones, which are luckily the ones that form my core beliefs and principles today. And I'm not sure how you could explain such delicate social problems to a child at that age. It's definitely something I need to be prepared to handle for when I become a parent. (And boy, that's on the top 5 questions I'm going to have a hard time handling...) No more than a child who would have a hard time understanding why Timmy would have two daddies. But these issues aren't harmful to child development when handled properly.
  2. One memory that stands out in my mind clearly. I was 8, before we moved for the first time. I was so sad, because I wouldn't be able to see my best friend Markus, who was black. And, being a flitty little girl that I was, I thought he was cute. It was my first argument that I was destined to lose, I didn't want to leave all my friends and cute little Markus. My parents told me then that I should try to date my same race. It confused me greatly. And the older I got, it made me angry. It seemed prejudiced to impossible levels, which very much clashed with my perception of my parents. They were kind and open-minded people. In my mind, they couldn't be one of those people, racist and cruel. I finally got the balls to ask one day (figuratively speaking) when I was about 15 or 16. They were confused about why I was so angry. I wanted answers. And when they finally told me, I was ashamed for thinking the worst. They never said it because they hated people of different races--but they knew others did. Even though such opposition won't die unless people stand up for it, a principle they were very familiar with, they wanted to protect me. People still are treated differently for interracial marriages. It wasn't the answer I had hoped for; I wanted to hear that I got my memories confused, that I was incorrect. That they were okay with it. Yet all they wanted to do was make sure their little girl was safe. The older I got, the more I could understand them and forgive them for it. It was the only time their integrity ever came into question so drastically. And while a romantic side of me wishes they would heartily cheer it on, encouraging and beaming approval...realistically, if I was in their shoes, in a bad neighborhood as we were, with a young child, I'm not sure if I could say otherwise either. I am for interracial marriage, but my family would come first.
  3. Staking takes maybe 5 minutes at most and you see every day people go from 50k to 50mil stakes being hosted regularly. And if you browse through our Graveyard forum, you'll see lots of pvp blogs talking about how they made billions (yes, billions) in ridiculously short timespans. So while throughout all these activities there might be some people who have RWT'd there is absolutely no way you can say or defend that all <group> fuels RWT'ing. Because it's simply untrue.
  4. What, other than botting, does the community need to address that has so suddenly sprung up recently? So then he's a bot. Logical conclusion, I'm sure. I didn't even read her posts. Just yours and Crossed, and then Erewhon when she addressed me directly. I'm not saying you should kiss people's asses but perhaps try to construct a proper argument. But as you put it, I guess a miracle won't be happening today.

Should be twice-baked! Still nom though.
  6. Not saying people rwt their houses, but most dicing addicts do get their funds from rwting. And the hosts sell it back to them lul. Endless cycle. Desupty #1 You'll have to forgive me, but that's like saying every PKer DDoS'es their opponents. You can't possibly back up a claim like that.
  7. A gambling addiction can manifest itself in many ways and for a recovering addict, even a harmless online version should be avoided. Yes while losing all your RS gp isn't damaging to your real wealth, it enables you to feed your bad addiction which could have very real negative consequences the further it goes (ie, losing all your money at the slots.) Luckily the people probably gambling in RS now aren't addicted to the action itself. Most of them are just trying to make a quick buck. It's the way the game works, make fast cash so you can have real fun.
  8. By your very black and white logic, I wonder how many of the active RS players out there would be considered bot supporters because they've simply tuned them out. Surely over half of us would be considered 'part of the problem'. For someone who sees this game as having only one achievement (fun) I'm shocked that you would then assume that because they don't find filing useless reports fun, that you would then use it as a means to denounce them. If there weren't hundreds of reports that went without satisfying resolution I would agree with your argument. But the bald truth of it is that for now, nothing is stemming the tide of bots. And it's natural for the community to grow apathetic. But how you leap from "not reporting" to assuming someone is botting from what you could interpret as a lie of omission is completely beyond me. IT would be much more pleasant debating with you if you simply showed your points and worried less about the personal digs in between, because I do think you make well-reasoned arguments in between. But to get to those well reasoned points is like dragging a horse to the glue factory.

Should it come at the misfortune, harm, or pain of others though? The theory behind the Church says no, but again...as we aren't perfect, neither is the way we carry out His will. It's why so many people today struggle against the Church.

Who can say no to a question like that? But salvation comes to whoever accepts the Christian Lord as their Saviour regardless of what life they lead before that. I could live a sinful life until my end of days and repent with sincerity and a humble heart and (possibly) be Saved. And while the true test for the spirit of a man or woman would be to love a child gotten on them by rape or otherwise would be to love them unconditionally, we aren't perfect. According to Christianity, the only perfect person who walked among us was the Christ who even then gave himself to save us. People pursuing something so drastic as abortion because of irresponsible behavior is a dangerous thing in society, but it has root problems elsewhere. And they need to be addressed in other ways. We all have natures, and the free will to choose within that nature. It's not for the government to save our eternal souls and outright ban abortion. That is an individual's responsibility. But at the same time we can't be wholly concerned with theology because we also have to remember the world we live in. That's why there's a moderation when it comes to the laws, late term abortion being banned in the states. There's another life at stake, at that point. But beyond those restrictions in place right now, I don't think it's right to do anything further. (ie outright ban of abortion/outright legalization) I'm sure that in some places, my understanding of Christianity is rusty. And I'm sure I'll be corrected, either in my understanding or my logic. But these are my personal beliefs.

I find your descriptions to be bland and regurgitated from some anti-religion hatespeech. Especially for someone who is such a strong advocate of science, which is ever changing and fluctuating along with our perception of reality. It's easier to vilify than understand, and that goes both ways.
  12. Moved to Blogscape, since you're using this thread to track your progress. :) Feel free to make another topic in Help & Advice when you've got a question.

  14. Nor do they read yours. Or mine. Or anything else with any regularity. What's your point? Forum's riddled with people who no longer play the game, but feel the need to add their mouthful into every RuneScape thread. This brings down the atmosphere within the forums, when they're going on the false beliefs that Jagex is taking their words into consideration. That's my point. The forum is also filled with people who play and have extremely stupid ideas and points (not you) who like to shove them down others throats with gusto. Youre in a community with a wide audience. That's why most communities have some sort of ignore feature. You're not going to like everyone you encounter.
  15. Then you could help the situation by not engaging those you perceive as troublemakers or report them. Other than that, let's keep on topic please. :P
  16. These sort of responses are baseless and fatuous. They're editorials. There's supposed to be bias. Yes, editorials are opinion based. Most people will naturally get upset with ill-formed opinions though, especially when asked (or practically baited into, since controversy is the coin of choice) for their responses to the articles. I can sympathize when most of the criticism received must be "STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE," but not all constructive criticism is like that.
  17. At least this time he is correct. Maybe so, but it really is a case of the boy who cried wolf. <_< .....Noooott reallyyyy... That would be more appropriate if this was a time where you had to depend on another person's word to understand the situation. Except here, that's not the case. Rationally, we can look at the argument Jr and Crossed are having ourselves and come to our own conclusions. And hopefully we can see why asking someone why they bot, especially given the forum rules we have in place, is not only futile (there is only one safe answer that won't get your post removed) but completely irrelevant to the discussion. This is supposed to be a mild debate, not a political smear campaign.
  18. How much exp does it take to max out the counter?
  19. RAGE (No really, watch it, it's pretty funny! They have seasons 1- 4 on netflix.)
