What I'd like to know is what software most grotworm bots used. Might help us understand what was rolled out unannounced.

Banning is not a consequence unless it's coming with a sterner penalty like legal action. So unless they're getting served their papers, which I doubt, I think this was a...hidden part of the hidden update? Yo dawg--

They've strangely been empty around the same time botwatch started rolling out despite what we were told. (that the system so far only targeted the adbots)

I thought this thread was about RWT. The botting software is used for free by RWT gold farmers. According to Mod Sabre, he said that to the best of his understanding, selling gold is illegal because you're profiting off their IP without the right to do so. Whether or not that would actually go over well in court is another thing - I'm sure Stonewall could give insight into that - but it's not just the Impulse software here that is the only legal issue.

Just a heads up, @Randox fixed this. So now you should be able to say botwatch to your heart's content. :)

You would never have to go to a high populated world to trade though, so chances are you wouldn't see something like that in that volume. It's not the same game when you and I first started playing.

It's infinitely better even if the rate was the same at which pmods muted (using your numbers) at a quarter of every hour because it's automated and now users finally have direct gratification from their reports. With systems like these, player moderators can actually start fulfilling their intended roles: educating and moderating the community instead of being little unpaid worker monkeys trying to stop bots like Jmods do. This is a beautiful and wonderful thing. For one thing, this automated system will only improve over time if they're correct about it. But most importantly, it will reduce apathy towards the report system. Now maybe we can get back to a point as a community where "If you see something, report them" actually means anything worth a damn. This was a great update alone - and IMO better than botany bay will be since you don't go anywhere to see it - that will start getting the community back on Jagex's side where it needs to be.

Like when they banned all 50-50 game advertising for GoP rather than fix it's crappy mechanics. Kudos to those who memorize the angles to push/pull at, but if I'm standing right in front of something and start to attract it where its direct path should go directly past the altar, it shouldn't go off to the left...

It's and much easier to correct this on a case-by-case basis - especially since we didn't hear of the term "bot watch" until the live stream, and there was no way to know they weren't using it as two separate words! A crowded area has enough going on without spambots flooding your chatbox and drowning out any real conversation. As you said, it's obvious. No one is mad simply because it's annoying, it's also because they are violating the rules as well as using macros to flood the chats. Gambling isn't necessarily bad and that argument hasn't been made in this thread. Gambling as it currently exists in runescape, however, has a large amount of scamming involved with it because of trust trading.

The reflection he'd do after the breakup was already really done, and for the right reasons, before matters came to a head. tldr good for him

On September 23rd, Jagex is doing another livestream event - this time it's about the EoC. (Read more here. ) We figured we'd reach out to Mod SteveW who works with the fansites to give him our questions. It's not a guarantee they'll be answered because of how busy he and those running the livestream are, but we figured it's worth a shot. It rose to the floor of 4.5 so fast because that's what the convert to coin value was set to in order to keep the quantity in the game low. Like stonewall said though we have no way of knowing when this will happen. Invest according to the GE charts. Since it's a bastardized rare, no one will tell you when to buy low and sell high.

So I don't know what it will mean for long term gambling but this could either play into gambling alternatives or it's another hotfix solution like "Just say neigh!"

Sara amulets might have been intended to be cheaper versions of the fury for each type of style once they balanced out. I'm not as upset about that as the other changes with the GWD armor.

I just want to know, who puts the sharp edge of a greatsword on your shoulder, armored or not! That would dull the blade let alone wreck the flesh it rests on >_> Very weird that they didn't animate it so the flat of the blade rested against your shoulder rather than the edge.
