12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
I can tell from the pic, regardless of the text that the boss is rammernaut... only thing i hate about him is that occassionally my familiar will refuse to attack him. And that sometimes he won't stop charging and i can't get near him >.>

Thieving Clue Scrolls
Yes. many of the tt items specific to level 1 are worth a lot (mostly due to them being f2p) and they are far quicker to do (because of both the number of steps and the items/places to go to are easier) No coordinates No wildy clues and they are easily obtainable from your local ham dealer.

Redeem-Code
In most school systems its against the rules to be a middleman in the distribution of heavily sweetened contrabrand. But more seriously... do you think they will be giving special code opportunities to try to create an influx of novice members?

Mod Mark H reveal RuneFest item 2010
Just wanna inject my 2 cents here For one. There will probably be more runefests and for those who couldn't attend. Just wait till the next one. And jagex is a fairly small company. They can't have 1 runefest in each country/state in the us. For all we(i) know the next one may be elsewhere in the world. For 2 The flag/banner is just a token that says ingame "Hey i went to runefest 2010" Next year there will be flags saying "I went to runefest 2011" , ad nauseam. Which brings up the second point. Why would anyone want the darn thing if they didn't go? its a commemorative item. Its the same reason i won't wear commemorative tshirts to events i didn't go to. And the same reason you don't get the commemorative tshirts if you didn't run the race "Congratulations on running the ironman!" "Oh i didn't run the ironman, i just bought the shirt on ebay." Yes people will sell their codes. Yes people who didn't go to the event will get the thing. But that in our woodcutting example is the equivalent of botting to 99wc. And the common strand is that jagex prefers not that either of those things happen. The difference is that jagex can ban you ingame for botting while they can't ban you irl for real world trading.(You are trading a voucher for an ingame item) Given they probably can do something about making sure the item makes its way into its rightful owner's hands ... to be honest giving out the code rather than just making it appear in the participants bank or toybox or w/e was silly.

28-April-10 Buyers and Cellars (and Thieves Guild)
Great, much needed updates. it was always a hassle to use pouches and shards. and with herb seeds i will always be able to make stuff. they still didn't make dungeoneering available as an objective for f2p >.>

12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
Imo boss drops should have a degrading bind. they stick with you for 3 dungeons before degrading into nothingness and unbinding themselves. all the while not counting towards your permabound items. but they have the option permabind. so that in the event you want to keep one you can.

POLL: In your opinion, should Jagex forbid Price Manipulation/Merchanting Clans?
Its hardly exploitation. In the long term it also does little, prices rise then drop. (it does serve as a catalyst for overdue changes however) Its comparable to crashing. both screw up the game for recipient players. both involve the greedy often more adept players taking advantage of those with less stats/knowledge. and both deny the weaker player to a particular good or activity. But when you get crashed you just go somewhere else. the crashers can't occupy every monster/boss and there is always skilling to be done. When prayer potions were bought out i was miffed, sure, but i easily put my specter tasks on hold and trained other skills. The spectres can wait. I mean sometimes things can't be bought. I used to go kbd hunting. i kept getting crashed by high level players So i went mole hunting and continued to get crashed. Was i upset that i couldn't do my thing? yes, but life moves on i went off and got some long overdue quests done. Its a jerk move but what can you do? Should we ban crashing because it 'ruins' the other players' experiences? And How does it mess the game up? its not like you got stuck behind the falador counter when falador was updated and couldn't play at all. But, Many people do think that this is a problem. I put my opinion aside and simply because manipulation (like any activity in this game) is completely optional, it can stand to be eliminated. And to do so i simply suggest one thing (no idea if this is a current feature i apologize if it is.) 1.) When figuring out what items are to be updated each player's buying/selling habits only count as 1 transaction (a player making 13 offers for dbones only counts as one transaction when they are filled.) and the quota for determining rising/falling is based on transactions and not items. (so a players choice to buy 1 prayer potion vs 100k prayer pots affects the G.E. Equally)

And why would they release the ruby dragon first? the hierarchy puts them at the fourth to last position.

A quest methinks... unless a ruby dragon is some sort of gem... like the blue monkey diamond.

Nature Staff + Law Staff are scams.
The bonecrusher is only selectively useful though. People alch things and utilize teleports every day. Yet the staffs designed to help people do these things are useless. Its almost as silly as if jagex had made using bones on an altar the required action to restore prayer and prayer restored depended on the type of bones used. or if you needed to use up a law rune to utilize your poh's portal all work to some extent but ultimately don't help players. in some cases you might as well have just used a regular teleport. or died and went to lumby. but what would make it a better solution that isn't just doubling the percentage (a rather dull aspect) It can store runes in it but more charges are stored per rune depending on circumstances x2 the number of charges per runes are stored in the staff if you have the rc level to craft them a further x2 bonus if you have the rc level to get 100% doubles. (no such figure exists for laws sadly) a further x2 bonus is applied if you are near the corresponding altar thats an 8x bonus for natures and 4x bonus for laws. upsides - rewards high level runecrafters, allows anyone to get extended usefulness out of the staff. downsides - devalues law and nature runes. it may be possible that they are no longer as profitable to make.

taking back my earlier thoughts, it could be a low level quest where you help an imp return to his home plane (demonheim).

Yeah but do the monster's name their areas? The fremnik who explored the area name it. A dragonkin could be seen as a demonic type of figure. Or perhaps there aren't dragonkin at all... could just be a demon overran fort.

Mobilizing armies help
i decided to do a game or three of MA a day in hopes that eventually it will amount to a rank of 300. I'm just curious about a question. Is suiciding in seige my only option for fast games?

22-Mar-2010 - Fish Flingers
I wrote up some basic Rules for fish flingers. these are based upon the logic of the game itself and my own experience. feel free to point out any errors Fish will never share a bait, hook or range Fish in the same habitat furthermore a.) have bait that do not share any properties (shape/color) b.) have hooks that aren't similar ( for example, bone and wood) c.) are not within 1 range of each other for example. a cod that likes worms on a slim hook at range 3 should not have a salmon partner that likes maggots or shrimp, standard hooks or ranges 2 or 4. range table posted in this format this is just a basic guideline. assuming you assign larges then adjust with small and medium (range) -(#small)(#medium)(#large) 1 -010 weight 2 2 -001 weight 5 3 -002 weight 10 4 -003 weight 15 5 -013 weight 17 6 -004 weight 20 7 -005 weight 25

Why Runescape needs instanced bosses.
Ya if they were only gonna rework one monster to make it worth killing and had a poll for it I'd definitely pick the chaos elemental. firstly they'd need to remove the ability to cannon it... 5 cannons = dead chaos elemental and dead revs. and adding instanced bosses is just a step... imo the entire concept needs reworking. we need bosses who require different tactics to fight. like a boss who you can't eat or use a potion on... or a boss where your skills are capped at 60 and lose levels for every kill you get. or a boss who can only be harmed if two elemental spells hit him at once removing some sort of shield.

Dahmaroc?
Plus if there is a reward even remotely useful there will be flames of every sort... people whined about needing a firecape for wyrms... but you can get a firecape within a few hours(by 93 slay you should have the levels) If its ultimately revealed that there is a reward... it will take people 30 weeks. Furthermore if there was a reward to prevent this jagex probably would've told us about a special surprise for completing the replica statue. imo

Dahmaroc?
but 30 months at max speed? i think it will just look nice. if they ever do add any more function the rants forum will go up in flames... In my opinion this seems to be an anti grinding update... but it fails at doing that.
