  1. We learned how to bind runes. Couldn't we already do that? and not only that but there was already an explanation?
  2. So now its just a really nostalgic vestige of a lost age... Except at perhaps bandos statues... The best loot from bandos statues is gems. (even though they aren't really worth killing)
  3. My biggest complaint is that the quest is a 'sequel' to rune mysteries... what exactly did we learn about runecrafting? Other that enchanted stuff and rune essence is very magical.
  4. When you finally talk to longramble you say. "Mr. Longramble, I presume?" The four levels of the Sos represent the four horsemen.
  5. It wasn't that good but its nice to be able to do some content after those strings of updates. Even though the quest wasn't that good it was fun.

  8. Yeah but black weapons are the only weapons you can use at the wraith. Add the fact that no black bars exist ingame and that black is painted steel (Or so i believe). It will just overly complicate things. I'm just offering a viewpoint on the black bar discussion. Besides Rune is expensive (In comparison to black) It would be much easier to amass a large number of black scims (+30%) than to spend a hundred K to get a good scimmy. buying a couple dozen black scimmies would help very much in killing the wraith. A 30% increase for an hour of extra damage will pay for all the failed (less than 30%) Sharpenings. Combined with the wraiths fast respawn and other damage boosting content i think the wraith might just be a bit too easy to kill.
  9. I'd say scrap black armour... sharpening black armor may make killing the tormented wraith too easy.
  10. Plus a minigame is supposed to be fun. Recoloring weapons and having little baubles on your person are fun. Why does champions challenge give you a worthless imp follower? because its fun. @Moocky The colors of the whips correspond to the 5 positions in BA. Yellow = Collecter Blue = Defender Green = Healer Red = Attacker White = The one open position (its always easiest to paint any color on a white canvas) The whip reward was BA themed after all. Huh.
  11. Actually thats pretty good bruno... Death mechanics would be kinda hard to work with.
  12. Excuse me for asking, but how does a real-time game with strategy not count as a real-time strategy game? The real time strategy game genre is another thing of its own. Wol May be in real time but its more of a simulation game. simcity is more closely related to Wol than Aoe. I must admit that i have only beaten the tutorial but from what i've heard it plays out like evony. Its not because it can't be a real time strategy. Its strategic alright but if it was in that genre it would mean alot of other things were true. Look at why halo isn't a role playing game.(rpg) Why isn't mlb 2011 an rpg, You can play as your own person. Sports games are Rts's too, they are real time and require strategy.
  13. War of legends isn't a real time strategy game... It may be strategical and in real time but that does not mean it is real time strategy. Much like in halo you play the role of a super soldier turning a war around that does not make halo a role playing game. Or the inclusion of chess in runescape does not make runescape turn based.
  14. variety? is the essence of life? Thats an old catch phrase... i think they want to breath new life into stale parts of the game. I think its taking it a little too literal to think of runes... remember 'Hold on to your robin hood hats.'? food for thought My guess is they will add new ways to train some skills with few ways to train them. but what could that be... each skill has plenty of ways to train them... Or perhaps they will be adding in coloring systems to armors. Of course Elemental workshop part 3 or improved impling xp tables would be nice too.

  16. To be honest the mahjarrot storyline has an unfair advantage. Its been delved into many many times while the sea slug quest line... well we don't even know what the temple knights think of witchhaven... its classified.
  17. A second prayer so soon after an update to the skill? Unlikely. I never said anything even related to prayer. There is a subtext there.
  18. But What if the new skill was something related to gaining powers? player's suddenly gaining a new skill via exposure to some extra terrestrial event? psionics? And to make a theory isn't the same thing as to guess. plus guessing is like rs.

  21. Oo i thought this thread was about content. But yea i agree here. Theres also bad updates. How many people quit cause of the removal of pking? there used to be a lot more people online at any given time. Also the entry barrier is happening. Its not xp thats the problem its the new inflation. Jagex is smart and welfare items are not effected because their balanced by shop prices. So new players will have a reasonable challenge still but wont be daunted. The group whos most effected are the players who have played 6 months or so go members and want their whips or barrows. 6mil for either item isnt much but what if they reached 60mil? and could never be bought in the ge cause of a separate street price? the somewhat new player then would quit. And communitywise rs has one of the worst out of any game ive played. Besides community sites like tip it the ingame community is terrible. People are rude/mean and immature, especially among new players. Update wise we got many years to come. But i have notice rs reached its maximum size in popularity around 05-06. Its slowly declining. Personally i wouldnt mind another mini-clip generation to get some players back I'm mostly referring to new/old player ratios. Old players leaving is inevitable. And sometimes you have to take a short term loss for a long term gain. The pking updates hardly affect new players coming in because they didn't know of the old way.
  22. Well Runescape will die that the day new players simply don't want to join. A few leaving vets are inevitable but when runescape starts losing new members and more people are leaving than joining... then they have to do something drastic or the game's fate is sealed. This could be for a variety of reasons. Mainly these 4 reasons Complexity - This supposedly happened with mtg. In short. The game was hard to understand. Difficult to do well. Kind of like letting the uninitiated do some safe pking in castle wars. He will get killed all the time and doesn't understand the intricacies of the game. Rs has avoided this for the most part (Low level pking and low level pures is one exception.) Community - Most people don't like to hang with people they hate. New players won't join the game if they are harassed, Flamed or trolled too much. This is up to the community. Cost - If rs cost the same or more than wow would as many people still play it? let alone join? Would timmy even try rs if there was no f2p and it cost 30$ a month? Jagex avoided this one. Entry barrier - If a sword requires 30million xp in attack to wield. It can daunt newer players. I'd quit rs if to play the way i wanted to i had to have 200mil exp in every skill. Not being able to chose how you play can be one of the biggest turnoffs a game can have. (Runescape has avoided this for the most part) New player flow can be cut off. For any of the above reasons.
