  1. Tell me, did the operation in which they removed your sense of humor hurt much? making light of a situation in which thousands of people have died and many more have lost their homes is not humorous to anyone except 12 year old boys and rsof posters Both of which I have been at some point or another. Anyways, I don't agree with endlessly moping. Sometimes you need to make light of a situation. I believe that what happened in Haiti was tragic, but tears won't help anyone. Mind, I think we should take this discussion to pm's, as I fear I'm derailing the thread.

  3. Oh my god! How insensitive can Jagex have be!? Something like this directly after what happened in Haiti!? I can't believe them! Imagine what all of the poor Haitians playing Runescape on their compu- oh, wait....
  4. ^If I were you, I'd have agreed with the kid, then told him why. But then, I tend to not know when to shut up.
  5. As far as my experience goes, if a girl wants to initiate staring contests with you on a regular basis, she's looking for an excuse to look at you, which is definitely a good thing. At least, that was the case for me, once.

Today my girlfriend got 'the talk'. Her father also said that if I did anything stupid, he'd shoot me with his "metaphorical gun." I told him I was about as bold as a size one italic font. It was a fun day.
  7. I hate to tell you this Wizz, but I read your entire post thinking you were Wongtong due to your profile. This caused me to facepalm for dirty thoughts caused by said misapprehension.
  8. Use protection. But really, against headcrabs, get a bunker/fortress in the countryside. Wait, that's what you should do for normal zombies, too. Here's something: If you could only have one weapon, what would you choose? (A gun would obviously come with some ammunition, but you'd need to gather more.) After all, gathering gun ammunition could become difficult.
  9. I'm guessing junk-mouth happened then. So, so far.... Movies Kites Keep going. The library. No joke. I went there with my girlfriend, and despite the fact that a nearby table was talking about "furry dragon hentai," I think it went rather well. Anyways, eavesdropping on said conversation caused us to giggle like school children. Also, the fact that when we first heard 'hentai' she turned to me with a mortified expression and said "I know what that is" made my day. Mind, I don't think she is nearly as innocent as she pretends to be. I've glimpsed her fanfiction roleplays.

But you didn't put it in a headlock? Wimp.
  11. With that attitude you may get attacked by a jealous boyfriend. I'm surprised I haven't gotten my [wagon] kicked yet, actually. I'm a complete [bleep] to everyone. A very friendly and social [bleep], true, but quite a [bleep] all the same. I am proud of you, though. Take the girl out to FLY [bleep]ING KITES BECAUSE GIRLS [bleep]ING LOVE KITES i can't even stop saying it I don't know where you live, but here it is winter, and snowy, and just generally unfriendly to kites. Maybe once the temperature increases by about 40 degrees( I mean fahrenheit, by the way). Kites are cool and all, but pneumonia isn't. (Me, exaggerate?) Tomorrow we're hanging out at the library after school, which is actually the hangout for our social group. We're cool.

  13. I am the exception to the rule. [hide] [/hide] I'm posting this as a confession, because it is one. I'm so deprived that not even Facebook wants me. (Oh, and trying to make an account for a 10 year old character you created is a bad idea.)

Today I won the two games I played in a chess tournament, asked a girl I liked out and got the right answer, and altogether enjoyed myself.
  15. Today I wore a white shirt and blue jeans, which combined with my current hair, made every anime nerd I know (which means nearly everyone I know) call me L.
  16. Well, the dream caused me enough longing to overwhelm my natural cowardice. I didn't ask her out at the beginning of the day, as I never saw an opportunity, or throughout the day, either. However, I'd already vowed to myself that I would ask her out. So, when school ended, I raced from my class to my locker to her locker. Her omnipresent friend, was, luckily, busy at her own locker. I took the bull by the horns, albeit nervously. "Hey" "Oh, hi!" "Want to mumble mumble mumble?" "What?" *Breathes deeply* "Want to go out with me?" "Yes" I was grinning during chess club, and won both of my matches. Today ruled. EDIT: And yeah, I know you shouldn't kiss a girl right after you ask her out, but this was a dream. It's a tribute to my innocence that all I did was kiss her and hold her for a bit.

I would really like to be in the field of paleontology. However, fi that fails, I've resolved to be an unsuccessful writer.
  18. So, I asked her out.... It was 9th period, the end of the day. I saw her leaving the school and was trying to catch up, but for some reason the floor was slippery and I kept falling. (I'm normally rather hard to knock over.) Finally, though, after running down the stairs, I ctch up. She was with a friend, so I ask if I could borrow her for a moment. She replied "Which limb?" After a bit of laughing at that joke, I pulled her behind a staircase, asked her, and she said yes. We then kissed, and I held her for a while. On my way to leaving the school, a hallways turned into an engineering classroom, and I ahd to make some random crud. ...Then I woke up. Teaser dreams like that should be freaking illegal.

[hide] Nope. My point is only referring to extinction in the context of animals dying naturally, without the intervention of humans: Now, animal abuse is an entirely different issue, but I'm talking about environmentalists who go out of their way to save a group of animals who would have died naturally. IE: The waters in Florida reached very cold temperatures lately [which isn't really something you can blame on us], so the manatees were in danger. Humans took them from their habitat and brought them to a warm area. The reason I posted my point in this thread is because it would be completely unnecessary to make a whole new thread about my point, when there is some relevance to animal extinction in this thread. The thread would have probably be locked and the mod would have pointed me in the direction of this one since they are so similar. I smell an exaggeration. PS: I'd also like to add that I don't think it is immoral or whatnot to help animals. I just simply don't understand what the hype is about. And of course there are the people out there who only care for the environment because of that "holier than thou" routine, which I should have brought up in my first post. PS2: If you want to save animals who have lost their homes due to humans taking their trees, that is completely reasonable. I was just getting at cases such as the manatees being cold though. I think you guys are just ignoring how I said the word "naturally". [/hide] Ok, then. I agree that in some cases, animal rights are hyped. But your phrasing made me read it as applying directly to this thread. Hence my kangaroo analogy. And I read you saying it wasn't 'specifically against whales' as you saying it still applied to them. After all, if we as a race destroy a species for sheerly frivolous reasons, then we are to blame, not the species.
  20. TTanT replied to Jeffwilson99's topic in Off-Topic
Firstly, it is a valid analogy. Whales are not going extinct because they cannot adapt to their enviornment, or because they are somehow inferior. Whales are going extinct becauses humans are killing them en masse. And if you say a species should not continue because it can't survive the best efforts of the human race, then you'd be down to a few insects as candidates for survivors. For goodness sakes, no species* can adapt to a threat like humans fast enough to survive. *Excluding some insects, and possibly a few fish.
  21. Ok. I'm doing it in person, though. I've always thought of asking someone out online as a cop out.
  22. TTanT replied to Jeffwilson99's topic in Off-Topic
It wasn't really specifically about whales. I just saw this thread as a pretty good opportunity to get my point out. In this case, your point is invalid. It's like dropping a few nukes on Australia and saying kangaroos should adapt.
  23. Thank you. Now I just have to devise an awesome place to ask her to go to with me. Or maybe I'll just be blunt. But I can figure that out. You'll probably have news in a few days or so.
  24. Well, I've come back yet again guys. I have a few general questions. First of all, is there an amount of time one should wait after having been dumped to get a new girlfriend? I'm assuming there isn't, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask while I'm here. And now for the actual situation. There is a girl I like (golly jee, really?), and I am seriously infatuated with her. I rarely put much thought into these matters, but I find myself thinking of her a lot. Finding excuses to be around her, and such. Call it a crush, or whatever, I'm asking her out. Now, the problem is, I have the midterm for my AP class coming up. I know for a fact that for the following week I'll have to sacrifice most of my free time to studying. Yet part of me wants to ask her out anyways. So, should I ask her out sooner, and have to then not pay enough attention to her, or should I wait a week, and start things normally? (As for what she'll say, I'm fairly confident it'll be yes. Anyways, one should never go into something like this expecting failure.)
  25. I have a friend who found a similar result to searching her name on Facebook a few weeks ago. She wants to change her last name. I'm apparently a Senior Consultant at NCR Corporation, a farmer, a doctor, and CAE interim Executive Director. That was actually pretty fun to do. Especially since I may have found one of my ancestors- a farmer from Switzerland who came in a boat into a New York port. Or maybe he isn't. I can never remember whether I'm part Swedish or part Swiss.
