In response to Ts_Stormrage's article: YES!!!! I am happy happy joy joy, happy happy joy joy about Free Trade and Wilderness being back. Know why? It is the original way the game was and should be played. You said it yourself: that we could cope with the GE and be without free trade (paraphrase). I dont know about anyone else here but I dont like to play only to cope with something. I want to enjoy my freedom, and I am. Ive never botted or cheated in any way and was not affected by the adverse effects that occurred following the change back to free trade. It is unfortunate for those people who lost items and gold, but they should not cheat. Free Trade and Wilderness is not only a good thing in terms of returning Runescape to what it once was as a game, but they are good because they place responsibility on the player to make decisions as well as play fair and safe. The loss of items by a botting system should be a warning to those who think about using RWT and bots in the new Free Trade era. Also, if Jagex says they have the ability to fight the RWTers and bots, then I believe them. Not out of sheer love of Jagex, but because as a developer and provider of the game I play, I should not question such an ability when I do not know the full extent that botting has reached in RS. I understand it is a problem, but if Jagex can keep it to a minimum, THAT is something I can COPE with.

I understand you do not believe player to player tading will die now, but that is how it seemed originally. The fact is that getting items such as materials is and will always be easier through the GE, but to educate yourself on prices and other needs to trade player interaction is necessary whether it be a trade, scanning the spam at the GE, or checking forums at RSOF or here. I agree world 2 fally is probably not coming back but my original post said they should make the GE more accessable. This would allow such things as world 2 fally to exist. However i do not agree that the GE should be everywhere and in every bank.

Stormrage: Yes I read your post, and I am not trolling. We wouldnt be having a discussion over several pages if I was trolling. Also, I am simply making my argument from the standpoint that you claim player-to-player trading will no longer be needed or used, and therefore (from what I can see in your posts) it will be removed, or should be removed. This is just false on the basis that player-to-player trading is a vital part of the RS economy. Hence why Jagex decided to account for p-t-p trading in the new GE updates following free trade. Even then, my only argument is that p-t-p trading will not die, it will not be removed, and it will continue to adjust as a more flexible and adaptive form of trading than the GE. The argument of which is in my previous post which you seem to not have read.

Even if they opened up new GE's, player-to-player trading will not die. Team fighting boss monsters, need a quick shark or two? Player-to-player trade. In wildy and you got all the loot and want to share with your team? Player-to-player trading. Giving a gift? Player-to-player trading. Also, the point of going to World 2 and screaming your butt off about the item you want to buy or sell is why prices really change along with updates. Those screaming spammers are setting prices before the GE can react and as long as Jagex keeps the GE on a delay and only a 5% up or down per day price change, then player-to-player trading will continue to be useful and thriving. So to repeat the point: Even if they removed such restrictions and opened GE access to most towns in RS, player-to-player trading would not die.

Dont have to worry about this if ya dont only buy one month I guess, so no effect on me.

Finally got back from work, went to do some F2P killing just for kicks (I wouldnt last a minute in P2P pking). Got two sets of full rune in about 3 minutes!!! Woot! Made my day. The rune items I gained from these pk's are on the GE at ridiculously high prices if anyone wants some of my memorabilia. About 20mil should do the trick if ya wish (for rune plate body, legs or kite)

THANK! YOU! Gah. Really peeves me off the people think the prices will change so much just because people have more freedom for it. Items that are relatively stable on the GE will actually keep their fricken price. It's only for those uber-rare items, in the...say, 300m+ range, probably 500m+ and junk that will be affected. I dont think it is unreasonable to think that Jagex would release something "when the day turns" By now it is Feb 1st in the UK and I'm sure many people expect they should be able to do what was promised on Feb 1st. It is a reasonable inquiry considering the way most electronic media is released these days: midnight parties, camping out, etc. Why shouldn't the world's oldest and largest free playing MMORPG do the same? I understand that Jagex usually doesn't release/update until later in the day UK time and know this from playing for as long as I have, but I do not think that is unreasonable to expect such a possibility. This. I actually support this idea... One should be in Falador and yet another in Ardougne... Each of these GE's should trade in most, but not all items, forcing people to use all of them (Ardy would obviously have not the monopoly on certain F2P items ;)) And who knows; it may be a step in the right direction to one day see competing currencies... I do not think Falador will return, I infact believe that trading player to player may dissapear altogether in the long run... My explanation for this will be in the Tip.it Times of Feb 6th... Competing currencies in RS? I don't think so. That would be one hell of a mind-boggle as well as too much for RS. There is not even a need for differing denominations of GP such as a 500gp coin so I see no need for different currencies. Also, Player-to-Player trading will not disappear (probably) ever. It is the basis of the entire RS trading system as well as the only way to make a secure transaction from one person to the next. Selling a p-hat to a certain person? Cant exactly do that 100% on the GE. Granted there can be changes made to sell to specific person through GE, but guess what, thats a Player-to-Player trade!!! I look forward to your explanation, and then quickly refuting it, but thanks for the agreement on needing more GE locations, though I don't see the need to limit their capabilities or working hours.

We need more than one GE location. Two would be good, just for some separation. I'm not arguing for a GE in every town (though that would be awesome IMO), but there should be another place in RS to use the GE at its full potential. Having the GE in one place only is like having a professional sports league with only one team, and then naming them Champions every year.

To take the topic in a somewhat new direction, I thought of something today: What kind of increase will we see in the price of rares following the change to free trade? By this I mean will it be steady? or will it be rapid? I thought of this because one could assume that everyone has dumped their junk by now so they can trade freely with coins and other items. Will this cause a rapid increase in rares as many look to use the new found freedom and purchasing power with coins meaning demand goes up again?

Is that really all there is of the second article? I felt as if it was just getting the the meat and potatoes of the issue and then quit. Yes you may be ignorant and a big change is coming, but what is the plan when it does? We all know its coming, so whats the point of telling us again? Tell us what you contend about the free trade and how you think (as someone who is "ignorant") will deal with the change, as compared to someone who may have profited hugely from 3 years of GE manipulation, or someone who has been biding time since the change.

Dongle? What are you talk about? When you say that I think of a item on my friend's keychain he uses to log in to his online poker account. It changes his password every minute and so at any given time his password changes unless he is logged in to his poker account. Is this what you are talking about? If so, I would probably get one granted it was less than $10 after shipping, etc.

Yea, I just dont remember when it was made impossible to tele past wilderness lvl 20, so figured it may be something changed.

Well, I guess this thread is the best for this question: What about teleporting in the wilderness? I did not see anything about that. I remember a time when you could teleport from anywhere in the wilderness to a safe place outside of it. Will Jagex keep their lvl 20 wildy restriction on teleports?

Great in-depth answers. This is by far the best interview Ive read about the soon-to-be-released updates. Best part of interview is that player trades will affect Grand Exchange price, I was hoping for this when I heard free trade would return, and I'm glad to see it happen.

In the Equipment builder section, typing in "torva platebody" or "torva" does not give any results for the item. It says nothing matches the search.

It is really free trade. Guide price will show the trend (to a degree) at which and item is trading. Items will settle and the guide will catch up.

As a response to bugs, what if there is a massive bug that turns all of RS into the wildy? That would be insanely terrible and funny at the same time. MASSACRE!!!!!!!!!!!! "MURDER!!!! CLIMB ABOARD THE MURDER TRAIN!!!"
