Hmmm...I don't quite understand what's meant by expressing the velocity of the vector in terms of i and j(I would have thought i and j to be vertical and horizontal speed, but maybe I misunderstood that, if you have that solution - I'm not a native speaker so that's possible), but if you want to get the vertical and horizontal speed.... The diagonal vector is made up of two vectors meeting at a right angle, forming a triangle. You know the length of the diagonal vector and the angle, plus you know the triangle has a right angle. The sinus is the quotient of vertical vector to diagonal vector, cosinus is the quotient of horizontal vector to diagonal vector. So, to get the vertical vector: Sin(60°)*20 miles Horizontal: Cos(60°)*20 miles

Botting in Runescape
There's a very nice signature of a guy on here that fits perfectly:

Botting in Runescape
First of all...bots steal other player's resource spots. Should be pretty obvious. They also cheapen any goods produced through something that can be botted, making players that can't do the more complex stuff(aka bosshunting) earn less. And besides that - a lot of people don't like seeing bots, it makes them angry and the game less enjoyable (even if that dislike wasn't based on rational reasons)

16 - Mar - 2012 - Bonus XP Weekend
From this point on, should probably be around 16 1/2 hours left, If Jagex stops at noon GMT monday, which they usually do(roughly)

Botting in Runescape
To your second point: Yes of course it harms other players. I still can't believe there are people around who don't believe this. And updates making stuff easier doesn't mean that bots are entitled to do the same - especially as updates at the same time (usually) improve the game where bots deteriorate it.

Botting in Runescape
Stev: Yeah they might have put a lot of work into it. Work that would be 100% worthless if not for someone else's work that they use without permission. The same goes to the music example - I'm not sure how the law works here, and frankly I don't really care. Using someone else's work without their permission to gain money should be illegal.

Botting in Runescape
The difference is that the Louvre gives visitors permission to bring cameras or recorders and take photographs of the exhibits. The movie studios don't give online pirates permission to make copies of their work, and Jagex does not give permission to players to cheat at their game. It goes back to agreement of the terms of purchase. It should also be pointed out that while the Louvre owns the Mona Lisa, the French government owns the Louvre, making it public property. Wow, talk about missing the point. Ok, let's say the Louvre or even the French government proclaims "Since we own the original, selling photos of the Mona Lisa is illegal". In your childish view of the world, is it now illegal to sell photos of the Mona Lisa in any country? Is the French government RIGHT to make such a law? If your only distinction between right and wrong is that some law exists, you've got a naive view of the world. Laws are made by men. As such, some laws are just and some are corrupt. What we as noble persons should do is strive to do the right thing regardless of the law. When what is the law and what is right do not intersect, it is incumbent upon the noble persons to try to change the law back to what is right and just. Now, is it right and just for what Jagex is demanding about it's game? For the most part, yes. However, they make some idiotic judgements at times. Something stupid like "Playing Runescape while playing the XBox is AFK and is a bannable offense". On the other hand, I don't think it's right how a program just removes the need for a player to be present. In the middle is this happy medium where a majority of players wouldn't bat an eye at the gameplay one way or another. Again, this isn't about what Jagex or the law of whatever country says, this is about what's right and wrong in a massive online role playing game. The Mona Lisa is a bad example because it has been owned by several people over the years and there are I don't know how many thousands of copies floating around, but yes of course the Louvre has the right to forbid the taking of photos of the Mona lisa and make it illegal. Wouldn't just be very effective because there are a lot of other, legal sources for this. If bot making isn't illegal because of current law, then simply because they are using flaws in the law to hide. If you think rationally about it, it should be obvious that it should be illegal. Those guys are making money off the work of another without their permission. If you can't see why that should be illegal....

This "free trial"
It is not only one thing though; it is a drop in a metaphorical bucket which is slowly building up. F2P is gradually becoming a less integral part of the Runescape experience than what it once was; this affects all players past, present, and future. I understand that; I understand that this is more than complaining "oh noes I need to look at members armour". I do realize this is a lot of things building up and that Jagex's attitude towards F2P isn't exactly what it should be. But this trial? It's not a drop in the bucket. It doesn't change your gameplay. People can try out membership. They like it - they keep playing. They don't like it - they go back to F2P.

This "free trial"
Nobody here has said pure F2P is bad. But complaining about this members tutorial is, quite frankly, ridiculous, because it DOESN'T HURT YOU. You can still get accounts with no members experience, and even if that was not the case - what does it matter? It doesn't change your way of playing at all. This is the same as a 1 defence pure complaining about he accidentally got 2 defence, even if it didn't increase his combat level. What does it matter? Your gameplay does not change.

This "free trial"
There are two ways to go for profit. Pay2Win or subscription. If you do not want the former you'll get the latter, and since this turns up less revenue, you'll have to deal with some bits of marketing. The trial, unlike some other things introduced isn't even detrimental for F2P gameplay, it just makes accounts that do not have any member xp rarer. Big deal. You can of course complain about updates to F2p. Just because you odn't pay doesn't mean you're not entitled to it. But please stay realistic. You'll have to keep most forms of marketing, so you will only be able to do something against those which you dislike the most. And do you honestly think that is the trial?

The Welfare & Benefits System
Social security contributions are not the same as income tax. And I don't worry about social security, because I'll never see that money again anyway. Another failure of the central government is borrowing against social security, so in a few more years it'll be bankrupt. People were donating to charity long before government decided to step in. People still are donating to charity. Why do we need to send our money away to a central government so they can redistribute it? Because charity doesn't guarantee that everyone in need will get money?

13-Mar-2012 - Loyalty Additions and Lodestone Network
Based on loyalty shop, it looks like it gets placed up front, but it might be misleading and be intended for the back. Since the word is lowercase and there was a competition some months ago about a title contest, they should be on the back. Any title with "the" should be be a suffix since Mod Raven definitely confirmed that when the title contest was around. As for the lodestones: I'm not generally opposed to the idea. I would like something like a central hub connecting all transport methods(Although it should fit into the game) and the lodestones aren't too overpowered either. It's just that I feel there should be more requirements on them. Right now, I have to say I'm a bit peeved off that the time I spent on getting 96 mage(Which was pretty much only for spellbook swap to have access to all teles) was more or less wasted and anyone can get that far easier now. Doesn't mean I don't see the point in it, but yeah, I think there should have been some more requirements on it.

Is it worth coming back?
Pattern recognition bots have improved and some reflection bots are working again, I'd currently estimate bot numbers somewhere around a third of players or so. However, there should be a new big anti-bot update coming very soon, likely even in march.

13-Mar-2012 - Loyalty Additions and Lodestone Network
Lodestones make teleports for normal training obsolete. Most likely you're not running around with runes the whole time and by the time you withdraw from a bank, you'll have tellied with lodestones already. Teleports are pretty much only useful for training now.

what I don't get is why they don't release a preview option or a possibility to test out emotes, costumes and stuff already. Seriously, it shouldn't be that hard to do.

What book are you currently reading?
I recently got a kindle, now looking for a book to buy, any suggestions? Should be a single book, no series please. Preferably Fantasy but open to suggestions :)

So...the time I spent on getting 96 Mage is pretty much wasted now?

Torstol farming.
Around 16 hours if you have all the required levels and don't miss anything/not much (requires only mediocre attention to manage that)

The "new" iPad
But why not get a small laptop for fewer money then? Instead of a tablet...I just don't really see the big advantage of a Touchscreen over the versatility that a laptop offers with a real keyboard so you can use it both for simple tasks and normal work. This is what mostly irks me about the iPad, more so than other apple products. Regardless if the iPad is better than other tablets or not...next to no one bought tablets before the iPad. Once apple comes out with it, it's the next big thing for some reason.

Do they still give access to RSC
If you registered your account to classic anytime in one of the opening sessions after it has closed down for new players, you will still be able to play it when you get members again(Or, that's how it should work at least)
