  1. People misunderstand this due to the misrepresentation by press people with no backbone. Assange releases documents which the government should be making public in the first place - stuff about how horribly the Afghan war is going, for example. Wikileaks first edits all of its information to make sure it does not put anyone's life at risk. The goal here is not to undermine the government or get people killed, but to expose corruption, especially in the wars in the Middle East. Obama has nothing to do with it. The people who say it puts the lives of soldiers in danger either don't know what they're talking about (read it in an article on the internet) or are worried about being "condemned" by the government.

I used to love burgers until I spent a weekend in upstate NY and it was the only thing I ate. They have some great burger lines up there, and the only other things I ate for three days were a Philly Cheese Steak from Subway (accidentally loaded with hot peppers because the lady misunderstood me) and a BLT at some greasy diner. I spent the last night there rather unpleasantly, if you know what I mean. Since then I've been ordering steak at restaurants instead, and have only had homemade burgers.

I've got a thesis/research (just the thesis statement, not the paper itself :twss:) and a 3 page paper due tomorrow morning. Ugh. School. Four days was definitely not enough time for a vacation.
  4. Orange box for $7.50....hmm...I already have tf2 and I don't care much for the other games. But to think I payed $20 for one game when it could have been half as much for five.
  5. That, good sir, would be myself. I do not see MW2 on the sales list, but I do see CoD4. Hello. And you are correct. I cannot read. Shiny, you are smart to do so. It's worthwhile to buy keys if you would be spending money on the game already, but in the long run it's much better to just ignore them. Crates should be able to be made into scrap tbh, everyone seems to have so many to get rid of.

Saw Harry Potter 7 Part 1, and it wasn't great. It was a good movie and all, but the good action scenes are in the second half of the book, so it was basically 2 and a half hours of recap. I liked how closely it stuck to the book, though, and Emma Watson was hawt.
  7. Oh my God, L4D2 - $5 and MW2 - $15. To think I payed $60 for that thing. BTW, who's "COD:BO needs hats"? I know it's a TIFer, just not sure which. I agree, also.
  8. I was naturally drawn to Spy and Sniper after specializing as a Commando in Battlefield Heroes. (Don't bother checking it out, it was an awful game plagued by micro-transactions and 13-year-olds). I wouldn't say I've mastered the classes, but it wasn't that hard to learn to do well. I'd say the Hightower map was what really helped me get used to sniping in TF2. Besides those, I'd say Pyro was pretty simple as well. You just have to be quick and stay close, preferably getting around back with the Backburner. I was gonna buy "Sam and Max in the Devil's Playhouse" (it was like $5), but it turns out my stupid graphics card can't handle it. Now I just want it more. FML.

I've actually never had pecan pie, but I had some delicious pumpkin, lemon sponge, and apple yesterday, plus the first two again today. The apple, sadly, did not age well :( U mad, bro? Clam chowder is better the next day. All the tastes blend together and it's just delicious.

But then what use would there be for a forum? ;) I know it would be nice to get the possible extra activity, but it's just not appropriate. It's like having a "Music" or "Video Games" thread in Off-Topic. Maybe if VL contains book discussion now it should be a sub-forum of OT. I know I, for one, completely forget about this thread because it isn't in an area I routinely browse. Unfortunately I'm not really sure that's something we can do. We can't have everything be a subforum of Off-Topic to gain more traffic or to accomadate the OT regulars. I know it's frustrating, but I'm just not sure it's fair to some of the other forums. For instance, The Gallery is probably the forum closest to the Varrock Library. The Varrock Library is for posting your own creative writing and also for discussing literature. The Gallery is for posting your own artistic work and for discussing artwork. Like the Varrock Library, The Gallery has been losing much steam over the past few years. So if Varrock Library were made a subforum of OT, then why not The Gallery as well? How do we justify moving only one of the forums and make it fair for everyone? And if both were made subforums of OT (would probably never happen, but just saying) then OT has five subforums and that's just getting excessive. Just something to think about. Well, the real problem is most of the forums in General Discussion don't get enough traffic. One solution could be to merge the two (VL and the Gallery) into one forum about art in general. It would definitely shake things up a bit, especially if music were included. I've never really seen the relation between movies/TV and music.

I know I, for one, completely forget about this thread because it isn't in an area I routinely browse. Finished Huck Finn and Dracula, and now I'm finishing off Notes From Underground. After, I'll probably start my AP Music Theory book, maybe read a couple short stories by Poe, and at some point return to the ten other books I left sitting around on my bedside table half-read.

Sorry, but reading a bunch of generalizations made by someone on the internet isn't exactly great soul-searching. Today school got out early and I did pretty much everything afterwards. I probably did more over the course of six hours than I did in the entire past week. Oh, and I found out that Sam & Max game I was thinking about buying won't work because of this stupid graphics card :wall:
  14. I'm on a scout. And you would pwn him if you're any good. That's where Sasha falls short - Natascha is cheap and slower, but so are your enemies when you use it.

I like everything on posted above. People who don't like mushrooms just haven't tried them in the right situations. Come on, man, just try it once. Also, clam chowder - Hershey's Chocolate Bar (plain) - I want some Toblerone. Or Hershey's Chocolate with Almonds.

Thanks. Actually, I didn't notice. I feel like I should stop posting so I can keep my count at 1001 or something. Like that\/ thing? I wonder how much it would cost to keep one of those in a house. It would certainly be worth the effort.

Ah, but what is disgust? Is there really anything wrong with this delicious combination of fruit sugar and creamy chocolate (which, I should mention, is also pleasing to the eye), or is the problem with YOU? Just kidding. But fruit with chocolate is delicious, as are those other things Blake metioned.
  19. Nice. Is the game any fun? I hear the dialogue is good but the poker is too easy.
  20. There's a heavy minigun, a pistol (the Lugermorph - it was released before), a new watch, and some random non-weapon stuff that doesn't look great anyways. The game's not working for me (of course) so I can't tell you what each gun does, but I've looked around and found some nasty stuff about it just being re-skins of default stuff. Meh, at least I'll have some limited items to trade off at some point. I should have researched before buying, though. E: Still have natascha, southern hospitality, backburner, and scotsman's scullcutter for trade, if anyone has duplicates or hats they don't like. I'm especially looking for the Familiar Fez.
  21. Spying with DR and YER is especially difficult because you have no options at the beginning of a match, but I've found it's very rewarding. DR pretty much saves your life - anyone who wants to spy check will find you, but you just cloak and hide. The trick to being a good spy is that you don't do anything unusual. If you have disguise options, don't be a heavy in a sniper nest. Don't run against the flow as a soldier. YER complicates this, but backstabbing with it is extremely rewarding, and it especially helps with groups of people or sentries. Also, remember that people can't really tell just by shooting you if you're a spy. If you start to run away, it becomes obvious, but you could decieve them by changing weapon or doing something less suspicious. Avoid pyros whenever possible. I bought the poker thing because I figured 6 limited items for 6 dollars is not a bad deal at all when I was paying 2.50 for 1 item every time I got a crate. I doubt I'll open more crates, it's really not financially effective. E: Apparently Tip.It has a Steam group. That simplifies things.
  22. The vid of Obama proved nothing, the facts all say that Chinese infrastructure is worse than most other modern countries, and anyone who disagrees is a closeted Asian.

This thread moves fast when I'm not looking. Sorry if I bring up random stuff from a couple pages back. -Crepes > Life. I've always heard it pronounced "crapes" (rhyming with grapes), but with a softer sound on the long A. There are restaurants called "Creperies" that specialize in oversized and overstuffed crepes, and they are godly. Last one I went to I believe I ordered up one with nutella, vanilla ice cream, powdered sugar, and strawberries. -What exactly is "Spaghetti Bolognese"? Is it just spaghetti with meatsauce? -I don't really like Asian food. Or Asians. Pad Thai is alright, though. -This thread never fails to make me starved. I'm heading out for Mexican with my uncle tomorrow evening, went to a high-end Italian (sort of) place last Saturday, and Turkey Day is Thursday (my mom's been cooking all week - the house smells delicious). It's a food week
  24. You are lost to me. Is this really where your heart has led you? I've actually taken to banning people off the TF2 server I frequent because of how annoying it is. My roomate has "U Mad Bro" as his emblem on his gun in COD:BO. I find it hilarious. I think it's one of the few memes that are actually used effectively, because, well, you ARE mad, bro.
