  1. But the plate update didn't happen until a Monday, if you recall. They didn't get the update out on Friday. Either way... Diago (sp?) will more then likely get a new item in. And it'll probably fall on Monday, Tuesday at the latest.
  2. For the Win, and while we are in the topic of asking what abbriviations mean, what does F-F-S mean? For Fudge Sakes (middle word is different, but you get the idea) Certain parts of the game are educational, but overall... I would have to say no. The entire community has been dumbed down to a certain degree. Years ago you'd barely even run into one rude person every thirty minutes... now its almost every second. Using examples of people being idiots isn't even going to help expand upon learning so much. Once you see a few instances... you've pretty much seen them all. Whether it be a password scamming hoax, to begging, and to even flat out lieing... They all come in different forms, but are all the same. I know the more people you are around, the more likely you'll see someone do stupid things... But even when I go out and help shop for groceries... I see people doing stupid stuff constantly. Whether its not returning shopping carts where they belong, to running stop signs... the real world is where the more important lessons are. I don't even have to leave the house sometimes. Just recently some moron, who I can only assume was drunk, completely side swiped my parent's truck that was parked along side the road. Yet it is always parked there... someone managed to hit it. Sorry, but life gives you a whole lot more to learn then a silly game. Life is where the costly lessons are, Runescape is more along the morals side for the most part. The only other thing RS would teach (aside from the language aspects) is some of the quest have Literature in them. But they're so far off that you really can't use them as an educational source. You can only relate the quest to the actual story to a certain extent.
  3. what "dragon plate" thing are you talking about? and how do you hack to see a new area? Just ignore him, he is babbling. There is nothing to hack if its already in the game The Dragon Plate is something you can buy from Diago (sp?) in Draynor, near the Master Farmers. EDIT: The plate was made as an April Fools joke like two years ago... I think it was (or last year, I can't remember).
  4. I'm sure you wouldn't be saying that if it looked half decent. :P I see what they were aiming at by doing the change. It just doesn't look right. Well... I think I know what their aim was at least. Their logic probably is that infants usually have some sort of marking that makes them stand out (or vunerable) to attacks. And as the infant gets older, that marking disappears. Thing is... the stripe looks extremely horrible. lol
  5. Simple way to find out if that "underwater area" is from the recipe for disaster quest or not would be to get someone to go to that area and go as far north-east as they can. Instead of speculating whether it is or isn't... And I don't know why people are convinced that Jagex don't add areas into the game... especially when its been done on occasions. And there might be some portions that just simply cannot be seen. Its really silly to state how Jagex does something when you absolutely have no clue.
  6. It looks ugly to me, kind of defeats the purpose of calling it a baby blue dragon. Maybe if the stripe was a bit thinner... it would look better. That much white on its back takes too much away from it. It looks extremely choppy the way it is now.
  7. I would imagine that sharks would be somewhat pointless for the lower level companions anyways. Depending on what their HP is, it could actually be a waste of sharks. Wouldn't give em anything but lobs myself as well, unless that proved to be a total failure. Not really something I'll have to worry about, seeing as though I wont be doing this game anytime soon (if ever).
  8. *shrugs* The rewards don't look all that bad... The only two that look pretty pointless is the Wildblood rewards and the bowstring rewards. Wouldn't know why Jagex would bother to add bowstrings as a reward when they are openly available to nearly anyone (and really don't take long to get/make). The Wildbloods seem pointless just because I doubt many people plant them... let alone use them for brewing. Not only that, but their also easier to get else where. The herb reward and lobs rewards seem to be the best to me. The lower herbs can be sold off to those who would make better use of them, while the higher levels could keep the Toad Flax. And the lobs would make up for some of the food used when doing the mini game (and its a bigger bonus if your cooking is high enough so that you can't burn them). Only other stand out reward would be the Rune Essence, while the coal and silver are not that great, but not all that bad either. Thats my take on the item rewards, at least.
  9. Glad to see you touch on that ghostwolf. You know, there is some concern on my part for anyone who plays the game too much. A lot of people paint me as a jerk when I say things like the guy needs to get a life. I, myself, have pretty much given up on Runescape totally. I think the problem with most people is that they get too absorbed into the game. I used to be pretty absorbed in the game myself as well, but I never recall playing the game 10 to 12 hours straight. When people start building their life around a game... thats a cause for some concern. It really seems like a road you shouldn't start down... ...with that said... First off... WAY too many spaces in the origional post. Who ever says Runescape can't lead to death doesn't know what they are talking about. Some people get too absorbed in a game. So much so that they could end up killing themselves if something were to go wrong (whether that be the character dieing, getting scammed, having your account broken into, or whatever). Now I'm not suggesting n0va would ever resort to such actions, but for you to make such a statement is just totally false. I will say... however... that the person who used drugs as an example might have taken it a bit too extreme. Its not the game that does it in a sense, but the weak minded people who let the game rule them (and possibly the more younger players at the other end of the spectrum). I honestly feel n0va wouldn't be so weak minded to end his life over a silly game, but I really don't know him that well to really be a good judge of character. The real disturbing point to this matter is n0va could be doing so much more with his life then playing this game. I really think his family, if they care enough for him, should give him a little nudge and try pointing him in the right direction. And by that I don't mean they should kick him out... that would make me a hypocrite... but they should really sit him down and discuss the situation with him. He could be doing oh so much more... and that just cannot be stressed enough. I hit my rut a little earlier then he did. And you know, I can probably understand where his mind is right now. He probably simply got tired of working and wanted to take a break. A break is just fine... but then a month turns into a year... a year turns into two years... two turn into five... and before you know it... your life has simply passed you by. He needs someone to help him get motivated. He has a masters degree, its time to use it. This post has gone long enough. Sorry for the babbling, but I figured I'd get my entire feelings on the situation out there.
  10. The only reason that it isn't detrimental to himself is because he is basically a freeloader (based on his own words). His family (who ever that may be) is letting him sit at home and play a damn game. He has a masters degree for crying out loud... and the best way he can utilize his time is by playing a game for 10 - 12 hours? If that isn't ruining your life... I dunno what is. You of all people should know how hard it is to get through college... let alone a masters degree. Its pathetic to tie all that money up into an education, only to place it on the back burner. And online fame should really be the last thing on anyones mind. Being known online isn't going to help you get known in a local area. Where being known would actually count for something. That was a pretty weak arguement there if you ask me. Being known around the world isn't fulfilling no matter what anyone says (unless you're like a REAL billionaire like Bill Gates and all those other people). If he could balance out his life and Runescape, that would be great. But he indirectly said it himself... he needs a life. [i'm also by no means suggesting I'm perfect. I'm in a similar situation I'd say. Just makes me feel good that I'm not that far gone as he is, and I probably never will be (I have a plan in life at least, where as he just seems hung up on a game).]
  11. I'd expect that out of someone like Zezima. To be honest... I'm surprised N0va was that open in answering some of those questions. He kind of incriminated himself in my opinion. He pretty much implied that he had his life together, went through college, and the whole nine yards... and let a simple little game ruin his life. This article really seems to conflict with the health announcement that Jagex recently released. Everything that these "top players" are... is everything Jagex doesn't want them to be. Playing a game 10-12 hours is just bad. I'm glad I never let myself get that far.
  12. I really hate stating the obvious, but you're a total moron. There are about three NPCs you have to fight in that quest (or more). Its next to impossible for a level 3 to do this quest. And from what people are saying... The quest more then likely has a bug. No way was this quest made into a group quest. Having help is one thing. Not even doing the quest and having others do it for you is a totally different story. Its pretty obvious he did nothing, because he would have been one hit back to lumby. And no one better even bother bringing up the "Shades of Mort'ton" Quest. That is a totally different story. That quest was intended to be a group quest. The quest under question isn't. Its kind of insulting that I nearly died there as a noob (probably level 60ish)... and then some cheap skate of a lvl 3 goes and gets a bunch of friends to do their dirty work, while they just sit back and do nothing. Sorry, but thats weak. Not only is it weak, but its probably bug abuse (which is cheating).
  13. why U lie ? Forgive me for stating this without any reason nor evidence but dude........ ur cb lvl ? 50 and u have 5 posts o tipit forums ;) Not only that, but he could've used common sense and deposited all his items at the Random Evet area. So when he got the Shoes and Shirt and died, he would've kept them both. Either way, if its even true, it would've been his own fault.
  14. Exactly. I dunno why everyone cries "flame war" when ever someone disagrees. Reminds me of some of the conversations myself and Shiva had (people would try getting us to stop arguing when we were just discussing certain topics). God rest his soul... Some of you people exagerate things too much. Last time I checked, this WAS a discussion forum. Obviously opinions are going to conflict with one another, thats the beauty of it all. A lot of people like the KB, and thats great. I, on the other hand, opt to disagree to a certain degree with it. The usefulness of it will only be short term, then they'll let it get extremely out of date probably.
  15. Alright, my bad. Thanks for clearing that up.
  16. Kiara, you're slightly right, but slightly wrong as well. All a fan site can do is provide information. Yous can't provide customer support directly with the game. If that would be the case... yous probably would of had a lot of people banned for using Swift Switch. Yous would've had to literally contact Jagex and inform them of such offenses to even get someone banned (whether yous do that or not is beyond me). Fan sites have no direct connection to the game itself. The only way that would be possible is if yous would have a server that hosts the game (which probably wont ever happen). All the fan site is, is a medium for people that have the intrest in the game to go to and arrange events. Sorry, but you came off as if you were actually directly part of the product. You are, but in an indirect way. And don't take offense to that please. :) Thanks for finally admitting that you're out of gas (officially).
  17. Thank you, which is the point I was trying to get through to some of these people. Like i said the info ISN'T at the website conent teams finger tips....they gotta get it from the game content team. Which admist your jibberish I didn't see. And what you said is complete bull anyways. They can log in and get some of the info (obviously not all of it). So your statement is only a half truth really.       EDIT: Not only that, but web content doesn't even compile the info, based on what you're saying. Game content compiles the info THEN passes it down to Web Content. So you just gave yourself up there. Game content HAS the info at their fingure tips. Therefore they have no excuses. Nice try.
  18. The fact is that that to anyone other than a coder the information that is supposedly at their fingers looks like jibberish. You come off speaking as if its a bad thing they did this at all. This may not be your intent. The KB doesn't have intrusive ads, it doesn't take ages to load, or cause lag ingame on my computer, it's got great pictures, a ton of information (not anything I'd use, most likely), and it's more likely to keep newbies from being misled or scammed at other sites. lol, no, I just picked this topic to argue about. Like I said, I need a good arguement every once in awhile. I don't care for Jagex that much, but that has nothing to do with it. They're just mirroring Fan sites, which I agree and disagree with. I understand why their doing it, but I doubt it will help. They wont keep the KB up to date, newer players after its release wont know of it in order to access it (because they wont continue promoting it). The cons just seem to outweigh the pros. The information is inaccurate (I was simply ribbing them for that). I just find it funny that I say that they are out of touch with their game, and they continue to prove me right. The info is openly available to them though... whether you want to admit that or not really doesn't matter to me. Some of the mistakes they made are things they could have looked up in game. And it seems to me that their CS responses in the past reflect that they don't use the game itself as a personal tool for themselves and to answer key CS querys. The main problem here is, CS wont be improving with this KB. Thats the entire purpose of this KB... and that in itself will make the KB a failure and pointless. Thank you, which is the point I was trying to get through to some of these people.
  19. They have the game... do they not??? Lol... yeah, out of gas there, friend. (Don't hate me for this, I just need a good arguement every once in awhile. lol)
  20. Whether you like the fact or not. The information IS at their fingure tips. You have no clue as to what type of documentation of the game they have. Even if they didn't keep a log, they can still log on for simple things. Mostly all the stuff that has been added is simple and basic information. So no... I'm not a jerk... you're just ignorant of the facts... if you wanna look at it that way... lol. I'm probably being a little too hard on them, but thats just me. What I find funny is... half you morons were probably totally against RS2 even being released so many years ago. Years ago when I came to Jagex's defense. Now, the roles have changed. I find that funny and amusing (probably because I was right then, and probably am now).
  21. lol, you're a quick one. Maybe you didn't pick up on the idea that Jagex have all the info they need at their fingure tips (they created the game, last time I checked at least). Obviously a fan site has to test, check, and double check. So thats a pretty dumb statement on your part. Jagex don't even know where their Black Dragons and Bloodvelds are. Unless you happen to think Jagex's game code magically reassembeld itself into a knowledge base, it had to be laboriously typed in, all 150k words. (There are probably fifteen words of code per word of text you see), so I'm betting that their batting average is still higher, considering the massive undertaking that is is. Maybe you're just not comprehending what I'm saying. Never once did I suggest their KB assembled itself. What I DID say is all the information is there at their fingure tips. All they need to do is research their own product. Quit making stupid excuses for them. Well put. That and its too little too late. We already have well established "knowledge bases".
  22. lol, you're a quick one.
  23. How can fan sites get screwed when the people who are working on the Knowledge base can't even get the stats to a cape right? It does prove one thing even further though... they are STILL out of touch with their own game. EVERYONE makes mistakes...jagex are only HUMAN!!! jees...one small mistake like that and you rip them to peices :? Funny you should say that. Because I've counted at least three mistakes they've made posted on this thread already. lol... someone is an obvious kiss [wagon].
  24. How can fan sites get screwed when the people who are working on the Knowledge base can't even get the stats to a cape right? It does prove one thing even further though... they are STILL out of touch with their own game.
  25. Oergg, wouldn't it have made more sense that they bring this out with the launch of the game though? They did all that promoting the game, even going as far as advertising the game on sites like Miniclip... Surely they should have known that the CS querys were gonna be coming in by the masses. Launching the Knowledge base with RS2 would have made a lot more sense. This is coming far too late to seem like a move to cut down on customer support querys. And this is all coming off the announcement by Craven (I think it was) when Jagex visited his college and said they were hiring more customer support staff.
