  1. Um, no. The Knowledge base clearly states that you can only have 20 rooms. You can have a house that has three floors above ground, and one under ground. I'm sure a many of people will want more rooms, obviously... but having more then 20 rooms is a bit much (all things considered). Course... I'm sure a lot of people would want numerous Workshops, Quest Halls, and other places so they could add all the items they want. Who knows... maybe one of these days it'll be changed.
  2. Well, dunno why one would be carrying 3 mill into someone else's house. Should've stayed in your own house and put work in on that... and got the games yourself. The only real way to avoid such a thing is to probably get a fencing ring in your own home. That way you know no one can boot you, since you're the one that has the "power". Either that, or just visit POHs of your friends. Their least likely to rip you off (obviously, there are some exceptions). Overall, don't take expensive items to other players POHs.
  3. You think planks are bad?! You should see the stonemasons prices! 325k per marble brick?! 190k per gold leaf?! No thankyou! It was a simple example. Obviously I haven't done anything with the skill to know a lot about the prices of controlled materials. My point was that some of the prices/charges are necessary... while others aren't. Planks are what the beginners would need to start with anyways. So it made for a simple example.
  4. definately, no skill would possibly require this much money unless it was intentionally for draining money out the economy. As you can see, it's working fairly well i mean, you can't even make your own planks for god's sake Yes, but the thing is... that Jagex didn't even consider... What happens when players lose intrest in POHs? Or when people actually finish their POH to a point where its pointless to train the skill because they have every expensive item in the house? It all starts up again. It happened with the Dwarf Cannon, it'll happen with POHs. This might slow down the amount of GP coming into the game, but it wont stop it. And once people have had enough of POHs. It starts all over again. Thats why I don't quite get why people think rares will drop so much as well. They'll more then likely be back to the prices they were in less then one years time.
  5. Not to take this even further off topic, but isn't it... in the words of Mr. T... "Quit yo jibba jabba!" Nice to see people leveling up pretty quick. Will be interested in seeing what a totally "complete" house will look like. And by complete... I mean one with all the bells and whistles.
  6. I'm sure the mounted heads (Abyss Demon, KBD, and KQ at least) and a few of the more better looking items will be able to be sold for a profit. Obviously the prices should be changed a bit... I think its pretty weak to have wealth be the main factor to level up any skill.... but hey... thats the way building a house is in real life. I understand they need a money sink... but why charge people for making the planks? Let the planks be free at least... and let the more unique items (like the ones listed above) suck up all the money.
  7. Its hardly flaming. Thats another thing I don't get with some of you simple minded people. Anything that is the the least bit blunt, you squeal "Flame". Well... news flash... its not a flame unless I personally insult him directly. While you're at it... cut the spam. [This is usually where I would toss in a flame, but God knows I'll end up with some other "wonderful person" spamming up an already pointless thread.]
  8. Promise? I mean... hey... if you wanna stick around, great... but not when you make stupid threads such as this. I'll never understand why some people bother to post such rubbish... It just blows my mind. Especially when you say "POHs came about a year too late for me". Great... I have the same opinion as you... but you don't see me making a topic asking people if I should bother getting members back. You seriously seem like you're trolling when you ask for opinions about returning to a game while stating that you're disintrested with probably the biggest month of updates of this year.
  9. Has there been any reports of a head being found yet? I'm curious as to how rare this is. It would be nice if you could get one with every kill, but for some reason I am having my doubts.
  10. I would hardly call what anyone is doing whining... it seems like a legit claim to me. Some of the items need to be expensive. Like the Thrones, mounted heads, trophies, and what not. Basic things like chairs, workbenches, chairs, curtains (the cheap two at least), and what not shouldn't cost a whole lot. Simple way to fix that is make Normal planks and Teaks cost nothing, or next to nothing, to make... and make Mahogany (sorry if I spelt that wrong) expensive. And make all the other unique items (like the magic gem or whatever) cost a good deal. Even the prices for that I feel should be tweaked a bit (a 25 mill throne is a bit much, even for the pesky merchants). I'll probably never get into the skill myself, let alone renewing members, but I think the prices on certain items need to be revised just slightly. And plank in general should be able to be self made once a proper level is achieved (even if the requirements are extremely high).
  11. I'm sure people will try to make more then 100% profit off it, once available. Look at it this way at least... the more profit they make, the more they'll be able to make more of it. Thus more profit. First few people to hit the high lvls can really make a killing. Glad to see the skill is out, but I highly doubt I'll bother to get members back to even train it. Jagex was about a year too late for me.
  12. Why is this question always asked? It just blows my mind how many times this has to be brought up... Its called a scroll bar guys... geez. I just don't get why people just can't see that. Its simplicity at its finest. Worst case scenario is they might have to resize the skill icons, but they more then likely wont. Scroll bar. Remember it! Note: Sorry if this was mentioned already, but I refuse to read three pages of silly ideas, when the question is so simple.
  13. Who knows what will happen 5 years down the road. I know a few years back I was playing a game called "WWE With Authority!" and the developers more or less guaranteed that the game would be around for years (they had a contract up till 2010, if my memory serves me right). I invested time and money into the game, thinking I'd still be able to play it into my mid 20s and possibly even long enough to pass it onto any children/child I might have... It stopped production back in like 2003 or something like that. Some guarantee that was... I would love to think that Runescape would be around in the next 10 years (let alone 5)... but stuff happens... and when it does... you usually don't see it coming. Its fun to predict and all... but you're only asking to be disappointed if the game stops production completely before you expect it.
  14. That pic gives more questions then answers. So this topic is hardly "owned". Is it an interesting find? Of course, but its nothing ground breaking. Its just a small area of houses that has a portal. Nothing major.
  15. That arguement has been brought up tons of times, and people still can't comprehend what POHs may provide for the game. The possibilities are of such a wide variety that it could even effect the runescape economy in a way. Star War Galaxies (SWG) has a huge city system. Where people can literally create and run their own cities. Cities that can be neutral, for the empire, or for the rebelion. Now... I'm not suggesting RS could base cities like that, but Jagex could allow players to create communities/cities that are dedicated to any of the Gods of Runescape. This feature probably wouldn't be introduced right away, but it could easily be a possibility. Houses, in SWG, also are a form of storage, aside from the bank accounts they have. And they also have different size houses, which the bigger the house... the more you can hold in that house. The more interesting point to this is... in SWG at least... there is a tax to keep your house on the land that it is on. The bigger the house, the more it costs. This could easily be the GP sink that Jagex has tried to create time and time again, but end up coming up short every single time. They already hint at the addition of Player Owned Shops... which is yet another advantage to those people who don't want to stand around World 2 all day trying to compete with the auto typing noobs and what not. So how can you say that this feature will be useless? Your statement is down right ignorant, and really a stupid statement as well... once you think of it. NOTE: I am by no means suggesting that any, or even all, of these ideas will be added. These are just possibilites and are NOT confirmed. So please don't spread this around as a lame rumor.
  16. Perhaps if they threw in a neon green or maybe hot pink? Um, I didn't ask to be mocked by my observation, but ok... A simple shade adjustment wouldn't hurt. The grey can easily be changed to reflect what part is actually the blade. And the brown handle could be slightly lightened too. The image just needs to look sharper then what it is. Nothing wrong with it needing to look sharper. With as many dark and dull colors in the icon... it is hard to make out the way it is now. That over exagerated comment really wasn't needed. Nor was it appreciated. I didn't see the humor in it either.
  17. Its not only that, but the colors they picked are so dark that they almost blend together and look like one great big, messed up, "X". And the size of the pic doesn't really help its case either. Maybe they should look into making the symbols bigger eventually?
  18. What exactly is that? It seems to small to me to figure out what it is, or im just stupid...What is it? I know its the skill picture for it what WHAT is it. uhh :? lol... its a saw going through a log. Had to take a close look myself to make out what it was.
  19. Um... no... there is no pic of a tiara. I only see a talisman. And that pic is extremely old (its been around ever since the launch of RS2). If you're so burned out working on a term paper... maybe the forums aren't for you. Making topics like this will just mislead people and give them faulse hope. EDIT: Never mind about the tiara. The way you worded it, I was under the impression that the tiara was posted in this topic, but its an entire topic in itself. Kind of makes this topic even more pointless, seeing as though someone already posted about it. :?
  20. Nothing in that article that was said is the least bit confusing... The forums were compromised during routine maintainence... the forums have since been restored after 24 hours of down time... and you're to change your passwords on tip.it and probably on runescape (if they were the same, when they shouldn't of been to begin with). Whats so hard to understand about that???
  21. If you had read the post you copied and pasted... you would have known what happened. I think that article explains things pretty well. And I'm interested as to what the results of their investigation will provide. Don't wanna comment on the situation too much, but I look at it this way... at least they addressed the problem already and weren't careless by letting people visit a vunerable forum (at that time). The facts are a bit unclear with regards to what went wrong, so thats all I'll bother to comment on.
  22. Probably coded the chat system wrong when they did the update. That or they need to add more memory to the chat servers, if they have any.
  23. I believe it is possible with american keyboards to type nearly any symbol by holding down the alt key and pressing a few numbers. Since I know little to nothing about computers I found this out on accident and don't really know if it is common knowledge or not, lol. Here are some random ones that I made up real fast "̢̢̮ââ‰â¬ÅÃâ¦Ã¢â¬â¢D*|[̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¢Ãâã[-8̢̢̮ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ÃâãÃÆââââ¬Ã
  24. Now THAT is a good update,Like last year when we got 48 more bank spaces..It was HEAVEN  :D I doubt more bank space will be added with the update... but Andrew or Paul (I forget exactly which) did say awhile back that they were going to try to modify the engine so that other Admins could add bank space on their own. At this point... Paul's team is the only team able to add more bank space. So after the upgrade, bank space additions might be slightly more common. Also... I'd like to take a moment to remind people that this isn't a new engine. They are simply updating the pre-existing engine. An entire new system would probably mean an entire new game... which just isn't the case. Is it modified? Obviously... but that doesn't mean its completely new.
  25. Erm, dunno if you were just joking around or what... couldn't pick up on whether you were joking or what. Pink is a "lightish red". If you ever took art class in middle school (maybe even elementry schools do it now...) they usually do a class on shading. All pink really is, is red mixed with white. And in game, there is such a thing as pink skirts in game. Sorry if you knew this and were just kidding. Figured I'd at least point that out before it caused more confusion, or a debate.
