  1. I know this isn't on topic, but I have to say something. This is wrong. A router represents a single IP. That's what a router does - it acts as a switching yard to other networks, while acting as the gatekeeper to the local network. Your router has one IP address. Jagex only sees that one IP. Where you're not wrong is that Jagex can distinguish between machines behind a router, with a little work. NAT (network address translation), the protocol that makes routers work, puts a distinguishing mark on the TCP/IP packets that it sends, so that when a reply packet comes, the router knows which local machine to pass it to. This marker is in the HOST port field of the packet. So, it's not the IP address, that's different, but the source port. A little "who cares anyways" information for you. :D Eh, maybe I am wrong. Dunno. What I do know is I have a router and my IP address in different from my mother's by a difference of one. That could only apply to the LAN though, which in that case I would be wrong. Infact, thats probably what it is. One connection, split by two computers. So yeah, my mistake. :? At least I have an idea as to what I'm talking about. Just didn't communicate it nearly as well as I could have. Plus... in my defense... its been awhile since I've done anything networking related in awhile. Thanks for the lesson though to refresh my memory. :P Anyhow... the main point I was getting too, that might have been missed... was that any family on a LAN is at risk for getting booted. If they ever decide they want to play RS together. Which is something that is wrong.
  2. Usually I would try to find a counterpoint to a flame at jagex, but I must say, you're right. I'm really getting sick at jagex's idiocy (no I didn't get banned or anything ) So no flame from this monster today, just an agreement   OMG... Bloodveld... that is like the nicest thing you've like ever said to me... FINALLY! A break through! I knew there was something I liked about you. Thank you
  3. Yeah, thats the problem with some people. They don't care unless it happens to them. And when it does... its the most terrible thing in the world.
  4. Think about what you just said there. You're basically trying to tell him to use common sense in your first comment... While in your second reply you aren't able to use common sense yourself. And seeing as though his little girl doesn't gain from any of this... I don't see the harm in it at all. While he may technically own both accounts, the one account IS his daughters. So based on what you were just babbling about... If I would move in with my girlfriend and offer to buy her Dragon Longsword for 100k (a legit trade at that)... That would be grounds for myself getting banned. Yeah... that would make sense. Oh wait... no it wouldn't. Seriously, think before you spout off.
  5. The thing about that is... Your IP addresses would be within one of eachother depending on how many systems you have connected to that router. So if your desktop has an IP Address of like "66.37.125.78"... your laptop will probably have an IP Address of "66.37.125.77" or "66.37.125.79". So there would have been very little margin of error in them finding a connection between the two accounts. The thing is... the connection between the two accounts isn't what they think it to be. They are just completely going by your IP Address. And had you of sent those same items to someone a thousand miles away from you... they probably would have thought nothing of it. You know people always snap at me about being so down on Jagex and the methods in which they use to conduct business. Now its just becoming all the more clear. Jagex are just totally out of touch with their product. They promote it as a "family game", but how the hell can a family play the game together if they aren't logged on at the same time with likenesses in their IP Addresses? The answer is simple... you can't. To sum it all up... Jagex are morons. And that is something I've pretty much been saying for awhile now.
  6. Ugthanki Kebabs, if I'm not mistaken... were added as a hidden update back then. The paper you are referring to was Jagex's way of informing people that a new food was released. Once the item and how to make it became widely known... they simply added it to the site.
  7. I look at it this way... If I'm not using any illegal third party software... and my pop up blocker or firefox block an ad... Thats tough luck for Jagex. I'm not about to go out of my way to allow ads that I wont even bother to click on. I see why they added the rule... but theres no way in hell I would intentionally allow a bunch of stupid ads to pop up. Especially when I'm using software that they themselves claim to use.
  8. The point I was trying to make is... theres an obvious loop hole that people can (and probably will) use. You simply cannot get banned for trading 10 million GP for something like a tinder box. The only possible way is if the person you are trading reports you for item scamming, and even then that wouldn't stick since they accepted the trade and knew what they were trading (and no one would willingly get scammed). Stuff like this already actually exist in RS. Party Hats are a huge example. They're worth like 1 gp in the shops... yet they sell for millions. There is absolutely no way people can get banned for just that reason. Jagex would literally have to go to these sites acting like customers and get the RSNs in order to have enough proof to justify banning anyone. And I highly doubt they have the time and the man power to do that. So either their so called system is a bluff... or they are simply in denial.
  9. Probably could easily be gone around by trading a real common item (like a tinder box) for a large amount of money. As long as the transaction involves a trade with in game money for an in game item... theres nothing Jagex can really do anything about. Someone could easily by a bucket for ten mill and jagex technically can't do a thing about it. And it can't be considered a scam if the person is willing to part ways with the GP. So there, problem solved. Jagex's system has been foiled in a matter of seconds.  NOTE: I'm not for real item trading at all. But I really hate it when Jagex thinks they have a problem solved and try to act "uber superior" about it. The problem isn't solved and probably never will be solved. Well... lets put it this way... the only way it would ever be solved is if trading as a whole was completely removed from the game. And that I'm sure will never happen.
  10. There probably won't be a new skill for a while because Jagex is too lazy to edit the skill menu. There is this wonderful thing in the world that is just mind boggling. This thing is a magical bar that is usually found on the right side of a screen/menu... And when you click on it, while holding the mouse button down, you can slide it so that you can scroll down this page. I think that its called a scroll bar, but further research on this object is needed to get confirmation on that. :P As for the rocks... people read too much into things. They've been hinting at summoning for at least two years now. That doesn't mean it'll be here any time soon. And with every opportunity Jagexs gets to release it... they pass that opportunity up. I'd rather see them finish up completeing the Runecrafting skill first before they even think about releasing a new skill. I think they owe it to all the 99 runecrafters.
  11. Would've been a decent item if it was used by means of provoking other players. Like... when you throw it and hit them... they are instantly provoked (even if they have auto retaliate off). It would also be nice if the pies added like a three round rule like back on classic (or maybe just hold them for a certin amount of time like everyone else has been suggesting). Would have made the item more worth while making/buying. The reward for making the pie should be better in my opinion. Like 30%, at least. Theres pretty much no advantage to using these pies if they miss so often and only lower energy by 20%. Super Energy pots pretty much take away that advantage, I would think.
  12. I agree, to a point, but then again I don't. The entire point of the Treasure Trails is really to simply add variety to the game. Infact, most updates these days are for that very reason. You see noobish stuff when you look at it, but others see a different way to stand out in a crowd or to look more unique then others. So to say that the stuff is rubbish and/or useless is pretty narrowminded of you. With that said... I think some of the items are getting a little overboard. Thats just my overall opinion. I was more of a fan of the trimmed armors (especially the Black(g)). I can see why others might want the stuff, but I probably wouldn't really bother trying to get any of it. The Enchanted items do look nice, thats about the only thing that stands out to me (amoung the stuff that is known at the moment). As for the D2H... thats maybe the only thing I might agree with you on as a whole. The stats need to be better on it to even be a worth while item to get. Either way... this was a decent update. And on paper it seems like a huge one in some respects. If you couldn't find one thing you liked about this update... maybe you should hit the road.
  13. Yeah, well what I gave as far as stats go are really what they probably should be. They seem to really be messing up the stats on melee items a lot as of late. I don't get how or why they are low balling the slash bonus like that. My only hope is that the strength is higher then I thought, because then that would make sense. For as slow as the weapon is, it should be a little more accurate then that. Can't comment too much on the strength, since it wasn't visible in the image. I just hope that isn't a real big dissappointment. Only real thing I was expecting to be wrong was the crush bonus. The stats on the Two Handers before it were too inconsistent to get an actual prediction out of. And with the slash bonus... they completely tossed away the pattern that they had going. Makes you wonder why they even bothered to implement patterns in the weaponry back on RSC. They sure don't apply any of those rules these days. They just pull numbers out of the sky and think that it looks nice on paper when it doesn't. :? If anyone could fill me in on what the strength of the weapon is... I would appreciate it. Its hard to give a complete opinion on a weapon when you can only assume what the strength will be. Which at the moment I'm assuming is the same as the Slash bonus, which if thats true will be a crying shame. EDIT: The STR bonus is officially crap (93). Don't bother getting it unless you want it for its looks. Which most people seem to be down on how the weapon appears (it doesn't look bad to me, but then again it isn't great either). The strength and slash stats are a huge disappointment in my opinion.
  14. The D2H stats (or the ones I can see in that pic) aren't even that appealing to me. Origionally I predicted that the slash attack bonus should be much higher then that. Infact, its actual Slash bonus is 16 points lower then I had predicted. Was only expecting the Crush bonus to be off, in the prediction. The strength is the only other thing of importance that I'm interested in knowing. If that isn't the same, or higher, then my origional prediction... This weapon probably wont be worthwhile getting.
  15. By that I believe you're talking about the fire starters? They look more like Mushrooms on a stick to me. There is someone in the Clues, Clues, Clues forum saying that they aren't tradeable. So whoever was planning on selling them might as well forget it. And for the people who dunno how to use them... My only other suggestion would be to try to just use the fire starter on the log you want to light.
  16. You did the right thing. No shame in not trusting someone you don't think you can (or should) trust. And by the way he acted... He simply wanted you to hand it over for its value. Had you have given him the whip... he would have teled, placed you on ignore, and you would've probably never seen him or the whip ever again. So yeah, good call.
  17. Thats really not that bad though... its pretty normal. I'd say. I use to get them mainly as well. I think I got one Rune Square Shield as well. Everything else was key halves, rune scimmies, and rune arrows (as "good" drops). Never once a Dragon Drop, although I'm assuming I came close that one time I got the Rune Square (you rarely ever hear of people getting that drop often, or at least I haven't).
  18. Almost sure that "Imp Catcher" gives only Magic Exp as well. And you missed that one. EDIT: JUst checked, and I can confirm that it does. 875 mage exp. Plus the Amulet of Accuracy.
  19. Lol, thats accurate enough. Your gonna have to use one for a bit longer than two days before you get anything back from it, its not exactly a rare-super-thing that will turn you into a millionaire overnight. Perhaps it should be renamed as the ring of slightly-better-chance-of-a-few-more-gp-per-drop. Has a catchy name dontcha think? I think the concern was that they only got fire runes as a drop (that being the best I should say). Usually... when I was down there... I would at LEAST get a half key or a Rune item every trip or every other trip. So they have every reason to be concerned. Its just simply bad luck though.
  20. Seems pretty obvious to me that not only was he lieing, but that more then likely he was trying to send you a keylogger. I wouldn't have even bothered to give him my MSN address. I would've just laughed at him, hit report, and then set him to ignore.
  21. Its been brought up countless times. You're just simply a victim of bad luck. Is all.
  22. Proper grammar isn't even half of it. You just whine about proper grammar a lot (or at least I've taken notice to it). If you even are oddfaery2... which I'm assuming you are. Why you're using a different user name to argue with me now makes about as much sense as what you're saying. Go figure... Since you are abbreviating figure with "fig"... makes it hard to believe you are who I think you are. Either way... if you are trying to emulate someone you're not... I'm sure thats grounds to get you banned. Might bring that up with the Admins there. As far as the first part. Making threads on a forum and harrassing individuals in game are again... as I said... two totally different things. The forums are where they really should be going. Not putting some random person on follow and bothering them. Forums are the most unique medium to get and find answers. And you really don't have to go out of your way to get such answers if you know where to look and how to properly use forums. If I have to spell this out any further I will... but I will let it be known that I am slowly starting to get tired of explaining my logic to someone who simply just isn't comprehending. Plus this topic is slowly starting to get off topic.
  23. Funny you say that while at the same time... Public Chat: OFF -- easy fix They still follow you. You act as if ignoring them helps when it obviously doesn't. Shouldn't have to deal with harrassment in general. Whether its verbal or someone just simply placing you on follow, trade spamming, or anything of the sort. I hate these stupid clicḫ̩̉̉s that everyone uses. I shouldn't have to place private or public chat to friends or off. I should be able to be open to meet other people and chat, but without being harrassed by others. Is that too hard to comprehend, or do I have to go into further detail? So... umm... What do you expect out of 13 year olds? Stop whining about it and let them do whatever it is they choose to do. I could care less, forum related. Maybe you should recognize the differences between in game and forums. There is a huge difference. And do you have a crush on me or something? You really seem to like to quote me an awful lot... :? EDIT: Just love how you take everything I say out of context. I'm beginning to think you have it in for me or something. But yeah... reread what I was addressing when I addressed you, then reread what I said when addressing Wozza. Two TOTALLY different things. For someone who is so big on grammar, you sure do lack reading comprehension.
  24. Thank you, I really don't see why these people are calling anything I said a flame. Maybe I came off a bit blunt, but hey, thats just me. The same thing I stated in my very first post are not just a rule of thumb or motto that I dictate to others, but one in which I use myself. Probably could have worded it slightly better, but it definitly wasn't a flame. So anyone who thinks that should get off their high horse. My opinion is only unwanted, Roswell, because its the truth. These kind of posts are lame and always will be lame. Sorry if you can't handle that fact, but it is what it is. Its not a flame if its the truth. And believe me when I say this... half you kids who are claiming I flame have not even come close to seeing a flame from me. Ask anyone who visited these forums about seven to eight months ago. So dismiss that little idea from your head. If I flame, though, I will be more then happy to let you know if/when I do so. And its far from spam either. I was on topic as far as the discussion goes. So you're out of gas in that respect as well. Want to accuse me of more things? I'll be more then happy to shoot your ideas down "Mr. I'm 19".
  25. Well... the low levels couldn't exactly do this quest when there are some pretty big reqs, not to mention the level 150+ monster in the reqired quest rum deal, and all it's reqs, too (40 farming -.-). So basically Jagex designed it for higher levels, but failed miserably to make it in any way challenging. It's certainly worth the time, but is definatly lacking. I was referring to Cabin Fever. The quest requirements were slightly high, but those levels are easy to get. As for the Rum Deal... Anyone can do it since its requirement is 47 Prayer. As long as you can do damage to the demon, you can do the quest. The Farming Requirement is nothing. There are other quests that add to your level (plus factor in Juna, if Farming is your lowest skill). Only thing hard to get for the Rum Deal would be the Prayer, I guess. Wasn't really talking about that though. EDIT: And nevermind, I see why you mentioned Rum Deal now. I need a little more time to wake up. I'm oblivious to skill and quest requirements today, for some reason.
