RIP Shiva Discussion thread.
Or put it in your location. I wouldn't want to be known by my sig from someone new who doesn't know the story behind it =\ *shrugs* Put R.I.P Shiva right below the sig image, if people can't grasp it then I feel really sorry for them. :P Not about to copy his entire sig, but the image is a nice visual tribute in my opinion.

rat catchers!
Best tip I can give you is this: You have to manipulate the guards in such a way that they have to mirror themselves. To do this you have to get caught by the guard that is ahead of the other. This is tough and it will take time, but once you get it you should be able to get it done effectively. What I would do is sit in the room that is easily accessed (I think its the one to the east). And just watch the guards and how they moved. There are opening that allow you to get by, but its simply all about timing and they pretty much have to mirror one another in order to get to the room to the west. Tough quest, but it entertained me. So it couldn't have been that bad. Thats if you didn't do the first quest. That first quest is The Giant Dwarf. If you did the Giant Dwarf Quest... You can access the mine carts that are under White Wolf Mountain and Ice Mountain to get to Keldagrim.

RIP Shiva Discussion thread.
Anyone who might want to pay tribute to Shiva could take his Sig and use it as theres. Just an idea that popped into my head. I've opted to do that myself, since my sig was pretty much boring.

Dear Everyone,
I think the main problem, which is why I don't ever bother to go and offer a hand, is that most questions can be answered just by using the search feature. I have had numerous questions I've wanted to ask, and the first thing I do when I want an answer is seek out that answer. Whereas other people/users just go and make a post without even thinking or bothering of using the search feature. Its a phrase used too often... "The search button is your friend"... and it couldn't be more true. Every question ever asked is bound to be covered/answered somewhere on this forum. Especially the newer updates. And there are few exceptions. Players who have questions would serve the community better if they would at least try to find their answer before asking.

TET Presents: Slayer Tower and Shiva Tribute! (Sat the 18th)
I would try to show up, but already know I can't. Not going to be a member on that date. Hope everyone has a fun time remembering Shiva and taking part in the event. EDIT: Anyone who might want to pay tribute to Shiva could take his Sig and use it as theres. Just an idea that popped into my head. I've opted to do that myself, since my sig was pretty much boring.

How Low Have Players Sunk?
You can party with people and not communicate with them. SWG and KO have party systems and on KO especially... if you run into turks, you can't understand a damn thing they say, so communication is non-existent in that respect. So no, communication isn't really required on any game, you just have to pay more attention. And throwing an egg at a fence because you got pked isn't taking the game too seriously? Fooled me :P

Which is why this post is and has been ignored up until you posted. :? Why couldn't you have just said it in the topic with replies? Rather then bump this one up.

So how do you know you got reviewed? :? If they offer you the position, they don't review you initially, from my understanding. Only after you let them know that you're interested is it when they do the review. And if you aren't chosen after the review, they let you know. There was a case like this awhile ago. Some user came bragging (kind of) about becoming a player mod, only later to be denied via PM.

R.I.P. Shiva " Anarith " Kumar - Verified by admin
It sucks. He was probably one of few people who was smart enough to understand my logic. And he was one of few people who I could openly argue with without any insults being thrown out (on either side). We respected one another and it was a crushing blow when I herd that he passed away.

Guthan: Up Close and personal!
I have a good pic of an old/former friend enchanting a fire orb. Pretty sweet pic. I'll see if I can dig it up. EDIT: Here ya go

You have no idea how foolish you just came off rambling about all that jibberish. Do you have a bad case of paranoia or what? Either way... get a grip... that babbling was for nothing. EDIT: And if people were banned from this forum... you wouldn't be reading it here. All those complaints are game related matters... not forum matters. Which makes you babbling even more pointless. :?

Tip.It Times Presents: English: Its Proper Form
Made you want to reply, didn't it? Keep in mind the purpose of the Times is not only for a good read, but also to entice readers to discuss the article, whether or not they liked what the author had to say... so if what you read got you stirred up and made you want to refute him, it accomplished exactly what we want it to. Just because I replied doesn't mean that the article wasn't pointless. Because it was. It comes off as if the author is trying to get people to not express themselves in a certain manner that some may consider to be embarassing (best word I can think of)... When the truth is how you express yourself on the internet doesn't carry over into your actual exercises in the real world. They only carry over if you are weak minded enough to let them. This article is pointless because it is one sided and comes off as if he wants people to change. The article might have been more worthy of reading if it were a lot more open minded then that. And I, for one, was under the impression that all online shorthand is wrong to this person. If thats inaccurate... it should've been covered well enough in the article. All I honestly saw was a person babbling on about pointless nothings. Sorry, but the article is still pointless. Whether I refute/reply to it or not.

Think thats how Star Wars Galaxies have theirs. And I agree... it makes much more sense. The problem there is... it'll require more servers. I think Jagex can afford them by now though. I tend to still think that jagex is a small company, making little profit, when thats probably inaccurate at the moment. I definitly think they'll be going with individual clients though, now that people are agreeing with what I said. :) Both the other games I played had separate clients for different languages. It just sounds like thats the route they'll be taking. That and they'll probably run into less conflicts that way. They only real problem I see is... new updates will almost have to take longer to make. Because they would have to rework at least the text for each language. So players might be kissing those weekly updates good bye for awhile. Then again... I could be wrong.

Tip.It Times Presents: English: Its Proper Form
Its all in your head though really. So the whole idea of it being habit forming is completely false. I use the e-language in game, to a point (I don't play too much anymore, but it was heavily at one point)... yet when I came to these very forums I would speak "proper" English. Fact is... it only becomes a habit if you make it (or let it be) a habit. So for the author to say that it is entirely habit forming is down right false. Plus we have spell check on word documents for a reason. If students don't use spell check... then thats their own problem.

Tip.It Times Presents: English: Its Proper Form
Only took the time to read half that garbage. The author really just came off as if he is so much better then anyone else. I, for one, try to write as well as I can... and thats all that should be expected. If these kids want to write in slang... let them. If you can't understand what they are saying... skip over it. Don't take the time to write an "article" whining about it. And I don't see what the problem is with most of it anyways. Especially in game. The text can only be so long in the chat screen to begin with, so some things have to be shortened to a degree... or you're saying a sentence in two lines. And by the time you say what you might want to say to someone... they could already be gone. I can't help but roll my eyes at the person who wrote this lame article. You guys must be running out of ideas to write about or something. That was just... terrible. Whether you like it or not... this is the internet. And the fact is, it isn't a English class. And yeah... I'm well aware that those are two "lame" excuses... but the fact is, they're the truth. I'm not going to think any more or any less of some of these people who type like that. Infact, chances are, I'll probably have seen it, maybe laughed a little, and then dismiss it out of my mind moments after the fact. This article was nothing but pointless and wont accomplish much of anything.

Diffferent people have different opinions. And you'll probably find that the younger users of this forum would see it as just that. The younger players more then likely just want to work for the company because they think they could get every item in the game with little to no effort (which I'm sure on the test servers they could). That and they probably have superiority issues amoung other normal players of the game. And if they aren't young, they're just simply obsessed with the game. Its not a bad thing, really... they just want to be a part of nearly every aspect of the game (and maybe for some of the reasons I stated in the above paragraph too). Now as a grown up and programmer (like Craven is)... this is just a nice little job to maybe help pay the bills. No where did I see him claim this is an opportunity of a lifetime. So yeah... try not to be "shocked" by it all... you have to consider the source.

Its all good, but since I was the only person to comment about auto messages on this thread, I felt the comment was directed at myself entirely. I hope that last statement wasn't directed at me either. Because I don't think I've ever sent a CS form asking them silly questions such as that. All of my CS/Bug report forms have been concerning legit matters. Not some silly, off the wall, question. If I were to ever have a stupid question (which I never do)... I would come ask it on the forums (that being here or on the main forums, if I had a membership at that time).

If making one complaint about it within maybe the past five months is a lot... then I'd like to know what your definition of the phrase "a little" means. Fact is, CS shouldn't be handled by automated messages, ever. If you don't have the man power you should either get the man power or not bother sending out lame automated messages. Its a real crappy way of saying "thanks for being a customer, we could give two [cabbage]s about your problem". So yeah... don't defend them when they should have been working on getting more people the day RS2 was launched. Customer support is something that should be number one priority, yes... it should be even above game developement. Apparently you missed that point. :? And don't ever say I complain "a lot" about something when I don't. That is extremely annoying... I'm taking that comment a bit personal. I never had a problem with you, ever, so why you would exagerate something like that is beyond me.

Probably have it how most other games have it. Either have a server dedicated to that language, which probably wouldn't alter the text that the NPCs are saying. Or recode the text into the language of choice. Which is why it is probably taking so long. Then once that is done, they would probably have client options for the languages. Who knows, maybe the language options could even be changed via the in game options. I'm leaning toward the new client idea though...

All of that info was pretty much known though, with maybe the exception of the Play Mods tid bit, wasn't it? They already let it be known that they were working on converting the game over to different languages, and the new game has been herd of for the longest time now. Its good to hear estimates on when some of the things come out... but just because they came to personally speak in front of your class... It doesn't mean that they're not the same old Jagex. Giving dates and not committing to them is a pretty bad habit of theres, even if they have an entire year to do it. And the whole hiring for CS deal just doesn't really get me all that excited. Especially if the current CS team are the ones who have to train the new people. If that be it the case... we'll just have another bunch of people who just like to send automated messages and provide little to no help what so ever. I really hope you take up this job, Craven. It'll give me a little peace of mind that at least one person there knows how to do their job properly (even with bad training). EDIT: Sorry, but for being the third best MMPORGP currently... they sure don't have good enough service to even be considered a top contender. And if it weren't for f2p... I'm sure they wouldn't even be ranked as high as they are. Oh... was the other game mentioned Star Wars Galaxies (SWG)? That game comes to mind as being a contender with WOW... I'm just not sure. That or even EverQuest... I would think.

MUST READ: Barrows breakthrough.
First of all... what you said is completely false with regards to things being random. And using computers in general as an example is foolish, really. Even if they use the known looting system that was vaguely explained in a very old letter to the Gods article... its still random. Lemme try giving an example... what I'm saying probably isn't making much sense... Now if I killed a monster that had the above drop list... I would have about a 20% chance to get either of those items, yes? Just because you have a 20% probability of getting a Mith Chain... doesn't mean you will get it in five drops. The same goes for Barrows or anything that has something that isn't a constant. Therefore it is random. If anything... the people who state that the Barrows are random really have a lot less to prove then anyone. All they have to do is kill the six brothers and leave it at that. If they get any type of rune at all... the theory is false. Seeing as though people have (including myself)... the theory is false. His theory made perfect sense, but that doesn't mean that just because it made sense doesn't make it constantly right. And thus... if its only partically right... all signs point back to that one lovely word... RANDOM. Kill count could determine the amount of runes you get, I wont even try to argue that point, but killing specific monsters obviously wont. EDIT: To expand on the last sentence I said above... I ment to say that killing specific monsters wont determine what runes you will get. I feel that is random as well and that the kill count will only determine the quantity of the runes. Determining what runes and armors you get, however, I feel is totally random with maybe the kill count increasing chaces of getting the armor slightly better (though probably not by a large margin).

MUST READ: Barrows breakthrough.
Your theory makes sense, but in my honest opinion... I think its all really just random. I'm almost sure I've killed only the six brothers and recieved blood and death runes from at least a few trips. And they happened frequently enough that they couldn't be considered rare. On the other hand... its been awhile since I've been down there. I look at it this way. You can make all the theorys in the world about it, and not one will be fully accurate. This mini game (if you wanna classify it that, I do at least) has been out for what? Almost a year now? If a formula were to have been figured out... it would have been within maybe the six months of its release. I just feel that for every theory that is made, a new theory will be concluded that shoots down the very theory before it... and so on and so forth. Which leads me to believe that its simply all random. If there are any variables that contribute to what you get, they must be so small that its hardly noticable on a small scale. And twenty five trips is an extremely small scale. Spare me.

Rapier stats reversed?
Yeah, you can definitly tell by the real pic supplied that the weapon is made for stabbing. And to say all Americans dunno what fencing is... is pretty foolish. I'm sure we've all herd of it a time or two and have a good idea what it is. Just because we aren't snobs doesn't mean we dunno what it is (sorry, had to go there).

Hint At Next Skill Release?
Thats funny you should say that... because Star Wars Galaxies is probably a far better MMPORPG then RS even and it has singing and dancing in it... plus a trading skill and all kinds of other "useless" skills. And you wanna know the funny part? Music and dancing are pretty useful in the game and add to the role playing aspects of it. They give Dancing and Music buffs (buffs are temporary skill enhancements). And since dancers and musicians have to play in cantinas (or pubs in Runescape)... it makes for good scenery when doing some of the more repetitive skills (fletching, alching, and so on). So to say that skill in itself is pointless, or anything of the sort, is down right foolish on anyone's part. If anything, it would liven up the already unpopulated pubs and make the game into more of a roleplaying game, which is what the game is, but seems to lack the most in. Not saying that this skill will ever come out, but if it does... I wouldn't be surprised.

Runescape's name?
Rune Scape You would know that if you ever got the Evil Bob event. He takes you to a new world called "Scape Rune". My mom use to call it Run Scape, if that means anything to anyone.
