  1. At your age I thought it was normal to have your parents take you over there  or walk through the heat and shower off at her place...
  2. Or you could just lure all 6 demons and mess up the guy's spot for a pretty long while  Logging out and in fixes that :P
  3. There are other ways to make money besides monster hunting. Regardless, you make it sound as if it's 100% impossible to monster hunt now without being crashed. It's also not like training prayer, herblore, or combat stats are competitive.
  4. Worst logic ever, especially when you consider the fact that the majority of monsters in Runescape aren't in multi-combat. All GWD, DK's, KBD, even corp are in multicombat... Only single-combat is like Barrows lol. And? Once again I point out to you that the majority of monsters aren't in multi-combat. What's your point?
  5. I understand, though I'm positive the majority of TIF doesn't :P Probably not a good idea to post this here, regardless of how logical your explanation is haha
  6. haha my friend and I used to PK there all the time... good times.
  7. Is it free to play online like the original is? And are there very many UMS (use map settings) maps out there? Those are the only games I ever played-- campaign and non-UMS B.Net matches always bored the hell out of me.
  8. I feel that BTS shouldn't be described as an "outline." If it were an outline, I don't think Jagex would feel obligated to create a forum post which describes the lack of updates as "delays." If BTS is an "outline," then what do you call this?
  9. I thought you were finally done bumping your topic...
  10. Due to the fact that this is an internet forum, I don't think it's fair to interpret any forms of disagreement as "whining." It's kind of like calling any forms of praise "kissing ass." Are we no longer allowed to be upset by updates (or lack thereof) without being reprimanded?
  11. The way I see it is everyone should try and maximize pleasure and minimize pain in their life. Having fun while playing RS = pleasure. Having fun setting/achieving RS goals = pleasure. Yet these goals are a "waste of time" and nothing compared to real-life goals? Let's think of some real-life goals... bodybuilding? Be stronger/look stronger -> self-esteem boost -> feel good about yourself = pleasure. Get a job/go to school to make money to provide for yourself and your family to maximize PLEASURE. The way I see it is RS isn't really any different from any other goal you can come up with. Though when you start getting "withdrawal" from a video game or it starts having a "painful" influence on your life instead of a pleasurable one, then that's when it's probably time to quit. BTW, I'm retired since the game no longer brings me any pleasure :P Posting on these forums still do, though... http://forum.tip.it/topic/262597-food-for-thought/ (don't bump)
  12. Nooo!! My minions!!!!
  13. Mommy why are these crybabies using straw man arguments? Because they realize there is no mature way to validate their rage at a week delay on a video game, honey. By the way, $90,000 would equate to approximately 18,000 accounts quitting over this, or all of Jagex's world servers exploding simultaneously many times over. I know Geoff Iddison holds a grudge, but I don't think he has access to the kind of explosives you'd need to cause damage on that level. Please clarify the original point then; I don't quite see how that can be viewed as a straw man argument. I used that example because my previous boss was fired for that exact reason-- a simple mistake which cost the company dozens of thousands of dollars. Using "they're only human" is not a strong argument here. I don't understand how employees at Jagex can still have jobs if they consistently keep botching updates. A straw man argument is when the original problem is replaced with a theoretical problem of questionable relativity. The argument can be easily destroyed by pointing out that the substitution is entirely irrelevant, or at least disproportionate. Jagex needed a bit more time for an update, and you're talking about losing $90k and some other ridiculous thing about "withholding our precious updates". Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it. Generalizations based on one small isolated event (which was already blown out of proportion to begin with) are always fun to read, but they really have no place in intelligent discussion. Jagex releases updates when it feels updates are ready, and over the years it has consistently managed to release content that the majority of players are satisfied with. The fact of the matter is that it does not "consistently keep botching updates", this is just your own opinion. If this is what you truly believe, I would reccommend that you stop reading RSOF. I hardly ever read the RSOF-- I don't understand how that comes into play here. Regardless, we'll just have to agree to disagree and I'll remain retired. There-- everyone's happy :)

  15. If you were the boss of a major corporation and one of your employees accidentally made the company lose $90,000, would you say, "Oh don't worry about it, you're only human-- I understand!"
  16. I think I'm done playing this game for a while now. I wasn't even looking forward to this update, it's just frustrating how unprofessional Jagex is. Between their customer service team not reading appeals or answering questions; their quality assurance team failing to notice blatantly obvious bugs more often than not; and their development team failing to release updates on time, I've lost most of my respect for this company and its employees.
  17. Whenever a friend would retire from RS and never log on again, I always paralleled it to death in real life. You'll probably never have the pleasure of communicating with them or hanging out on the game-- they're basically dead. That's why I always became upset when a close friend would quit. A handful of my closest friends whom I've known for several years have added me on Facebook, though so at least we're still aware of each others existence :)
  18. I wasent aware that dragon arrows were made of dragonfire. He obviously meant the dragon bolts (e) special. You could've figured that out yourself. Anti-fire pots don't save you from the dragon bolt spec. I found that out the hard way a long time ago. How long till this thread dies?
  19. I'll just stick w/ my spear and pretend the melee rings don't exist so this doesn't bother me :)
  20. Apparently two of the magic rings don't work at all either
  21. I recall someone once quoting a love letter from a former U.S. president to his wife. The letter was incredibly mushy, needy, and wimpy, but the overall consensus on the letter was, "This guy is so alpha, he can get away with saying stuff like that." After I read that, I thought-- what's the difference between me and him? Past a certain level you can do whatever the [bleep] you want and it won't "lower your value" or hurt your masculine image? That's pretty much when I started genuinely not giving a [cabbage] about "value" and all of its connotations. If you really believe you're the man, then you can do whatever you want w/o worrying about the consequences to your image. Don't be afraid to look needy every once and a while. As long as you're yourself (which hopefully is dominant/alpha), then that's what people notice and pay attention to. Does a real alpha male care about being needy, or, more importantly, what other people think of him?
