  1. Use clay picks + barbarian horn if you can't tolerate mining. It's probably less efficient, but I sure as hell would rather play in Clayland or play Barb Assault instead of mining rocks for a longer period of time. Also, using clay picks to mine shooting stars is fun and decent XP. You can go AFK while you mine stars too-- it's like cutting trees. I don't think the barb horn works for stars, though.
  2. Simple question... if I'm training melee on monkey skeletons with crapier, extremes, etc. Approximately how much of an XP/hour difference will I see if I decide to cash in on turmoil rather than just use piety?
  3. So, I haven't played in a long time-- last time I played was right after they upgraded the rings of kinship. My dungeoneering level is 71... What's the best way to do floors at my level (which complexity should I use, which floors should I solo, etc.)? Which items should I bind? I currently have prom plate and prom spear p++ Which ring should I be using? I've got 99 range, 99 magic, 91 def, 90 att, 90 str. Seemed like range and mage always sucked in dungeons w/o a group, so I imagine it'd be best to focus on melee. Where can I find groups? Which world do I go to for floors? I recall needing 90+ dungeoneering to join respectable groups of dungeoneers. If there's any updated guides around here that I could check out, that'd be nice too. Thanks! :)
  4. This goes back to the broadest possible perspective on how to live your life: maximize pleasure, minimize pain. Why do you play RS? Hopefully it's because it's fun/pleasurable. Why would you (hopefully) quit RS? Because it becomes boring and no longer pleasurable. Why do you study in school? To be able to get a career to make money (+pleasure), to provide for yourself and possibly others (+pleasure), and to make sure you've got a steady lifestyle (-pain). Why go to the gym every day? To make yourself look/feel good (+pleasure), and possibly to improve your social standing because of it (+pleasure). People who regret playing RS (or WoW) because they feel they've missed out on opportunities shouldn't feel much regret as long as they were having fun playing... My perspective at this point may differ from others, since I don't believe in an afterlife. As such, it's impossible for the human mind to comprehend one's own demise and the amount of time which you will no longer be able to experience anything. It doesn't matter if you played video games for 80 years of your life, or if you spent your whole life trying to be "productive" and accomplish your goals-- it ultimately means nothing once you die. The only thing that really matters when it comes to this kind of thing is spending your time benefiting others. At least when you die, someone else is still pleasuring from your influence. When you think of the time you've spent playing these games, think of the friends you've made in the process, and how you've touched their lives.
  5. I don't have time to read through all the pages, but new prayer necklace + bonecrusher = infinite prayer potion supply for training certain combat skills? for example, chinning at ape atoll w/o prayer potions until you run out of chins? or killing rock lobs till you run out of runes?
  6. The mile's pretty easy to speed up on, considering it's more of an endurance test than a sprint test, and seeing how long you can maintain a decent pace for. On Tuesdays and Fridays I warm-up for my legs/abs workout with a 1-mile run. When I started running the mile for a warm-up, it took about 8:30 to run. Now it takes about 7 minutes. I'm a poor distance runner, so I just gradually increase my pace each week. I've also got a bunch of songs on my iPod which are between 7 and 9 minutes long, so I know that I need to have finished the mile before the song ends as a pace-setter. ...but I'm sure the running gurus around here could give you much more efficient methods of developing your mile-speed rather than my example, hah.
  7. Seems like you should learn how to be fully-independent before pursuing a partner...
  8. How many pull-ups do you need to be able to do? If you've got access to a kettle bell, that's probably your best bet to improve your basketball throw... otherwise, a medicine ball will suffice.
  9. Someone did a few tests when that update first came out. Running, then walking to a destination is the same speed as running, then resting and running to a destination. However, if you find a musician, that's obviously the best method of recovery.
  10. i also considered this method but my fingers didn't fully recover yet from the bonus xp weekend... is there a way to do it without killing your fingers? does the Wakka's Mousekeys Guide will make it less painfull ? I just move the pointer with my wireless external mouse, and click with my laptop mouse button. it's impossible to accidentally drag that way, and you aren't clicking and moving with the same hand, thus preventing any injuries or fatigue. I can easily clean about 8.5k herbs/hour that way. I tried that and couldn't get it down pact. It's a good way to get cheap xp but I would rather just get the xp with useful potions to boot. were you trying to time your clicks or something? I just click as fast I can and move the pointer across the 4 columns of herbs as quickly as possible and almost all the herbs get cleaned very quickly w/o much effort

  12. After my main got banned, I got defense on my 1-def pure since having only one account w/ 1 defense severely limits the things you can do for fun.
  13. I'm not sure if the prices are the same as they were yesterday/a couple of days ago, but cleaning herbs is over 100k xp/hour and 4M profit/hour currently, assuming you can get rid of all the cleaned herbs within a day.
  14. are you joking >_> you could do it with an inventory of 8 prayer pots and 20 empty spaces and probably get to jad w/o any problems. don't worry about your setup, just master prayer switching before you risk 90 minutes of your free time getting to him.
  15. Randoms are mostly based off how much XP you gain... do things which give you massive XP/hour and you'll get randoms more frequently. Cooking, ranging with chins, making summoning pouches, etc. are good for provoking randoms. On the first bonus weekend it was hard to go 5 minutes w/o getting a random when making summoning pouches.
  16. Have you ever been drunk in your life?
  17. I'll explain. It lessens your achievements in the long run and makes many resources double or more in price for several weeks only for the sake of three days, at the irritation of many. If you could get level 99 in a skill in a day for free, nobody would care if you did it, would they? Why don't Jagex make all skills like that, because after all, it's free xp. Are you implying that you train skills to 99 to impress others? >_>
  18. just watch random jad vids on youtube and attempt after you've mastered it that way. getting to jad isn't the problem-- killing him is.
  19. use plain runite instead of diamond (e). never use dragon boots in the fight caves, they lower your ranged att. it'll be difficult with a prayer level that low, you'll probably run out of prayer potions :\ last question, should I use a regen bracelet or a black d'hide vambs, regen heals you faster while the vambsd'hide have 4 more ranged attack. regen if you've already got one

  21. All I can say is I hope he had fun during those 4 months >_>
  22. I think I'll runecraft :) herblore is overrated.
