  1. Nice to see people can still debate maturely on this forum nowadays...
  2. [/hide] I chickened out yesterday at the last minute. Today, however, I asked her to snowcoming just as I was about to leave. She said maybe, and then explained that she didn't know if she could go yet or not, but if she could go then she would go with me. I guess I'll just have to see if this is a soft let-down or not, but I can hope. EDIT: Guess not. She texted me later and said that she couldn't come because she had to sing at church and babysit and her parents wouldn't let her out of it or something. Ah well, at least rejections are getting easier to deal with. [/hide] If anyone was wondering what came of this...Nothing did. I talked to her on facebook later on that day (last Saturday), and everything still seemed normal. After that I didn't talk to her on Sunday at all (I didn't see her and I didn't want to look desperate by starting to text her), and I didn't see her on monday either as she had been put into a different English class at the semester. Tuesday was the next rehearsal and as such it was the next time I saw her, but something was different. She dropped basically all of the IOIs (thought they were admittedly small in the first place) that she had been giving me all last week and she spent all the time she could away from light crew and with her other friends in the pit (band members, its a musical). We started talking again on wednesday, but it was still awkward and I just ran out of things to talk about, and by Thursday I had started to accept it. However, on Thursday things changed direction again. We had started talking a bit, but it still was nothing like last week. the light crew started playing truth or dare in the light booth, and someone asked her who she was crushing on most right now. She quickly turned around and looked out the window and said that she didn't want to say because they might be in the auditorium and she didn't want them to hear. I didn't know if she actually liked someone in the pit (she doesn't talk to any of the actors) or if it was a coverup, but I started hoping it was the latter. Yesterday was the first competition, and I again dropped any thoughts of her liking me as she basically stopped talking to me again. By then. I wasn't worried about it anymore and just talked to other people up until the competition. Our school got a first division rating on the play, and the light crew got a superior award. .After that, a couple people hooked their iPods up to the auditorium's sound system and started an impromptu dance for about 2 hours. After I was basically dragged on stage, I started dancing and it was some of the most fun I've had...well, since homecoming. I danced with like half the people there, had a circle mosh pit stated me, got carried around a couple times (I'm rather small xD), and was basically a center of attention at the beginning, and I just felt like I was on top of the world. I don't think I've ever felt that confident about myself any time before, and i figured, what the hell, maybe I could try getting to dance with Stacey again. However, I tried about 3 times throughout the dance and she just kept denying me every time just to dance with her friends again as soon as I looked away. But by then, I didn't really care. There are other things to life xD. In summary: this week she stopped all the IOIs and I'm done worrying about dating her. I can still eventually find someone else xD. [/hide] Anyways, for the current situation. After about a month after that competition I started talking to her on facebook chat again, and continued to do so on and off for a while. I figured I had basically blown my chances by then, and even though I was interested in that other girl I mentioned for a little while, I still liked her a bit as well. We kept having some pretty interesting conversations during this period, and eventually I invited her to a get together wit some of my friends. It, er, didn't go so well. She felt awkward only knowing one of them, and she ended up leaving early and said she didn't really want to come to any more of the get-togethers. heh. Anyways, after that I basically figured she wasn't interested, but i kept talking to her on facebook/texting her, and we kept having fun conversations so I didn't mind xD. In June we hung out for a while before pre-auditions for next year's musical, and I haven't actually seen her in person since then. Then in July those "like this status and I'll tell you something about what i think of you" games started coming up on facebook. I tried a couple to see her responses and... First impression: Dominic, The first time I met you I believed you were the smartest kid at [our school]! Yeah you knew alot about lighting and just talked with an intellegent tone. I thought you were super nice when you showed me how to work the light board and showed me around the cats. Then I realized you were in my engish class! Anyway..., I thought you were smart, kind, and just a great person. :) Some other one: Like: How nice and funny you are :) Dislike: Havn't really seen you since [the drama competition] ended First Impression: Why is this kid sitting ontop of the scaffolding? I think I've seen him somewhere before...in English class?....No thats not it! Confession: You helped me alot with lights and I realized after you were in my English clas...s that you were the guy who played Hamlet when we reenacted it and You're a really good actor :) I'm soo glad I met you But basically though now it probably seems like its grasping at straws, at the time that seemed like she might actually still be interested, so of course my interest started to flare up again. Then she asked to hang out, and we tried a couple times but it didn't end up working out before I had to leave for band camp, so we said we'd hang out the monday once I got back. We obviously kept texting/ facebook iming at this time, and before i left for band camp she ended up saying I was hilarious or that I made her day in every conversation we had. Well this brings me to the present. I just got back from band camp yesterday, and things are basically still where we left off before that. On monday we're going to be meeting up at a mutual friend's bonfire and we might go to a nearby park beforehand for a while (her suggestion). Though I realize this isn't too much information, I waited too long to post this and its hard to remember everything from that time span and obviously however monday goes will have a large impact in this, does it seem like I might have a chance, or that I'm looking way too much into it? I think you're looking too much into it, honestly. But then again, it's been a long time since I (over-)analyzed all of my relationship endeavors, haha. I don't really understand why everybody's so afraid of the friend zone... the more cool girls you become close friends with, the more of their cool girlfriends you'll meet. Each "failure" increases your odds of "success."
  3. Magic's always been, by far, my favorite skill. Tons of things to do with it, three different spell books, great for combat and skilling. Probably the most advanced skill for the longest time. I'd say magic, summoning, construction, and dungeoneering (when it's finally "complete") are probably the "best" skills in the game. They seem to be the most maturely-developed skills compared to all the others-- lots of depth, complexity, and creativity in all of them. Slayer sucks in my opinion >_> lol that skill feels like such a waste of time to me. But then again, so do so many other skills nowadays.
  4. clay harpoon + swordfish gloves used to be over 100k xp/hour though last time I did it, I got much less :\ not really worth it anymore but I still did it since it requires so little attention and I enjoy playing SC
  5. Mage is probably the best attack style there, however it's not practical unless you're trio'ing. The autocast messes you up such that you can't hybrid with magic.
  6. According to the topic subtitle and OP, it takes 2 minutes longer to microwave it
  7. Fire strike? o.O slayer dart probably.
  8. you need to diversify yo bonds, [racist term] and bring a spirit terrorbird
  9. Your computer must be a little bit ancient. XD My semi-new laptop was ~$600 and runs Starcraft II just fine. You might be better off just waiting until you're ready to get a new computer. Naw I got my laptop in late 2008-- it's more than qualified to run the game, minus the graphics card. When I was customizing my laptop, I got the cheapest graphics card available for it :\ used "can you run it?" to see my how my lappy can handle it
  10. I can't play this game cuz my graphics card isn't good enough :( Any recommendations on to how to get an affordable graphics card that can handle this game? At best buy, all the graphics cards cost more than the game itself :wall:
  11. Does anybody know how many hours they've been putting into the skill on a daily average? It's been almost 4 months now, I actually feel sorry for them if they've been putting in 8+ hours a day since April...
  12. I used to use void mage there since I was below 70 defence... there's no noticeable difference between ahrims and void mage since the lobsters' magic defence is so low. Ahrims is better to use though since it's less risky. void mage generally sucks compared to ahrims, though-- the 30% magic accuracy boost sounds like a lot, but it really isn't. ahrims gives you much more accuracy than the void mage set.
  13. I prefer ahrim's hood or a god mitre
  14. Pures suck nowadays, don't make one. They're only good against other pures.
  15. Actually, you are wrong. Maybe you should take some logic, as well as writing, classes to learn the difference, before you attempt to correct others, k? "that many players took the predictions of the BTS to be set-in-stone truth. Then, when Jagex didnt manage to get all the updates in for that month, or were having issues that delayed one of the updates in the BTS... a lot of people didnt like it." That is, rather obviously, aimmed at TIF'ers who complained. Its based on the assumption that others believe the BTS is set in stone, which, if you read the thread, is actually NOT what people said. In fact, I don't remember one person saying so. "Yet, the people complained and cried. There was outrage and fury. Jagex had promised the new Treasure Trails! How dare they postpone it for a week! " Possibly correct about RSOF, but this assessment is made about ANYONE and EVERYONE, with no differentiation between those who complained, but still understood the need for delay at times, and those who just raged. Another logically fallacy, and a rather childish attack. "How on Earth am I supposed to entertain myself if I dont have shiny new things to click every week?! We pay, we say!" That is just idiotic, I can't believe any thinking author would write that. Saying something like that is comparable, in some ways, to a taxpayer saying because they pay taxs, they can direct where their tax money goes to. We pay, but we don't direct what updates come out, rather we pay to be ABLE to pay RS. That argument is a straw man, attacking something else, rather then the issue at hand. I'd really be interested in knowing how much Racheya knows about programming, and coding. From reading her blog, as well as other areas, I feel rather secure in saying that she has NEVER coded ANYTHING in her life. "So really, the rage and upset over this is just rather stupid if you ask me." Ok, fine, that is an opinion and everyone is entitled to it. I rather think your writing and logic skills are poor, but that is just my opinion, and I am entitled to it. "The update will be out soon enough anyway and theres enough content to be getting on with in the meantime" Quite a lame argument. Considering 1.) I know people who only play to try out new updates etc, and 2.) saying that "Don't whine, it will be out later" is rather silly. If I owe my brother money, he is expecting it on a certain day, although he knows for sure I might not be able to pay him, and then I don't pay him, he might be upset with me. Sure, he'd be understanding, and he'd wait, but I wouldn't blame him for not being happy. "And, if you think that you deserve this update NOW because youre a paying member, then the solution is to stop paying." sigh. Show me ONE post where anyone said they DESERVED this update now? That argument to stop paying is so stupid, I shouldn't even have to correct it. I love culvers. (A restaurant) However, if one time, they fail to serve food as expected, and I complain about it, will I stop going their forever? NO. It was a disappointment, but I don't just stop going there. I instead complain to management, in order to receive either a reason, or a refund. "Id be tired of hearing kids going But they said! too" Way to go. The ending of an writing should be the summation of your whole argument. You did that quite well, by showing that your only retort was to resort to calling anyone who complained a "kid" I have to go know, I'll be back later to finish my response. =D>
  16. First article felt very... condescending :???:
  17. Or do what me and lalala do which is be pro and play secretly. LOL What's wrong with letting people know you play RS lol
  18. Most crashers on this thread just crash for efficiency sake, not because they want to be jerks. Conversely, most of the people on this thread who get consistently get crashed seem to take it personally and get their feelings hurt every time they get crashed.
  19. A quote from the user Andrew_Calcs from the high-level forum who entered the base xp value for each floor to calculate the higher floors Hmm so floor 47 is around double the XP of 35? interesting.
  20. Is it possible to calculate how much XP you'll be able to get on the final floor in a large 5:5 dungeon? If there's a ring of vigour I wonder if they'll release a ring of valour with a similar effect.
  21. Hmm must be a typo, I think they meant Behind the Scenes September :)
  22. Will do when you explain to me exactly why those two shouldnt be compared in this case. It's easy to be immoral on RS through your anonymity and freedom from consequences. The same thing can't be said for real life.
  23. Can you guys quit trying to correlate RS morality to RL morality?
  24. Oh it doesnt. I misunderstood, magic is again balanced in my eyes. (Dependant how much it really slows by). 50%, a chaotic rapier hitting once per 2.4 second would become chaotic maul speed, and hit every 3.6 seconds instead so yea buys you about another 1 second gap between hits, it definately reduces their dps but unless added with ice barrage theyll be about even in dmg assuming ur in ahrims and their in blk dhide, and even tho speed is reduced they still have ko potential it's half speed. I've killed enough people to know that :P try it yourself
