I was stating that that was the optimal setup for the kind of clan wars I'm usually in. 90 v 90 + Mage piles will wreck anyone without high magic def :L well obviously one person against 10 mages will get wrecked, but 10 mages in armadyl will lose against 10 mages in ahrims

verac's brassard + ahrim's skirt is waaaaaaay better than maging in armadyl, in any circumstance. with veracs/ahrims, you have 41 more magic att (a LOT), 26 more stab def, 51 more slash def, and 26 more crush def. armadyl only has 9 more range def, and over 100 magic def-- yet if you're fighting a mage in armadyl, your accuracy will be too low to compensate.

I'm hoping you're using ice blitz because it's the highest lvl spell you can use, rather than because everyone else unwisely uses it over better spells. Spell stacking has been gone for a few months now, and even when it worked, ice barrage was always a better choice than ice blitz in any given situation (more accurate, more powerful, and has a delay).

mage is great there but nowadays it's really only worth it if you're gonna trio (one mage, one warrior, one ranger). the updated autocast makes it hard to hybrid with mage unless you're on ancients, which isn't as cost-effective :\

clean herbs or make barb pots. for herb cleaning i don't use mouse keys and clean about 8.5k herbs/hour. I just move the pointer w/ my external mouse and click w/ the laptop mouse buttons-- it's impossible to accidentally drag herbs that way. herb cleaning's over 100k xp/hour and profits if you watch the market carefully enough.

Well I've gotten 99 range, magic, and hp on two different accounts now. 99 range was fun and easy both times thanks to chinning. 99 magic took years the first time, I just did about 1 lvl per month on average and got a ton of XP through recreation. Second time I strung ammies while doing other things so it wasn't much of a chore. 99 HP was never directly trained. Almost 99 cooking now too, I've enjoyed it a lot. Most of my time spent on RS lately has been AFK'ing skills while playing other games. Gotten 90 fletch, 90 wc, 80 fish, 98 cooking so far from AFK'ing.

I hate it how you can't watch a PK video that wasn't mutilated by crappy software effects nowadays -.- That vid seemed like it had awesome footage but I quit watching it after a minute cuz the video effects were so distracting and obnoxious :\

I think you only need the full set to supplement the SOL effect. Otherwise the battle robe effects should work w/ individual pieces. Not sure, though...

It used to be kinda the noob way to safespot since it used to be possible to freeze someone then mage from a location where you could attack them w/o moving yet they couldn't attack you, even if they had a longbow and you had darts. It's pretty easy to counter-- you just gotta keep trying to attack them at half-second intervals (spam-clicking's never good). If you're gonna try and freeze someone with that strategy it's better just to hybrid and take your time switching to claws or a dark bow or something, depending on which protection prayer they have on since they can't see what you're up to.

What spell were you using, what ammo was he using? Sorry to say, if you were both using the best you could, I find this INCREDIBLY hard to believe miasmic barrage + phoenix necklace = unstoppable. even dragonfire bolts were useless :)

magic has always been the best fighting style. the new necklace only makes it better. about a year ago, I sparred against a friend of mine about five times in the duel arena His stats: 99 hp, 99 defence, 99 range, 99 magic, 99 prayer my stats: 98 hp, 87 defence, 99 range, 99 magic, 70 prayer he was using ranged only, I was using mage only. I won every fight. additionally, he summoned a wolpentinger so he had an extra +7 magic levels, plus the 5% extra mage def from the familiar. I didn't use any familiars furthermore, he was using protect from mage the WHOLE fight, and I NEVER used protect from range lol

I strung ammies most of the way to 99 on karma. I recall getting 1M magic xp in one day while I did hw and studied for exams

My only problem with this is that I would either need to raise my Runecrafting, rely on others to have 75 runecrafting, or downgrade to using Fire Blast as my best spell. Is this really worth binding some arrows to shoot at a few mages? (i haven't alched items for 20 levels, I never need the money) I've got similar stats as you... I've got 99 range and mage, can't rc blood runes, and I've got prom plate+spear bound. I got 90 wc and 90 fletch just for dungeoneering... I cut creepy logs whenever I find them and make one into a longbow, and the rest into tier-10 ranging familiars for the rest of the group. Shades and mages drop enough blood runes such that I can fire surge if a primal warrior shows up. I've got prom (p++) arrows bound too since I've never gotten sagitarrian arrows as a drop

I've just got the traditional Dell Inspiron 1525-- you can customize your own on their website. I've had it for two years and it's been pretty good to me. I spilled milk on it a week ago and it completely died for a few days then magically revived itself. I guess the milk just needed to dry... now it's as if nothing ever happened :D You can also get mini-laptops for really low prices. Nowadays, the technology required to play a game as simple as RS is pretty much standard so it's not gonna be very expensive.

I used to be a maxed range tank (on my banned account) I'm assuming this is for dangerous PvP I strongly suggest you follow these tips: If you absolutely insist on training defence, do not train it beyond lvl 94. At lvl 94 you get the highest possible boost from a super defence potion. If you go to 99 defence, you'll be against foes with higher offensive power-- their offence will be more "potent" than your defence and you'll be at a huge disadvantage. 99 defence is overrated. Don't get it. I repeat: DO NOT GET IT. Stop training your att/str immediately-- you're already melee-based. Each att/str lvl you gain makes you weaker because it increases your combat level and you don't use melee as a tank-ranger. Get HP as high as you want. Get magic as high as you can... 94+ is strongly recommended-- magic is mostly just for mage def, though. Don't PK in void, it's not worth the risk. If you want the best chances for a kill you should hybrid with magic. You can hybrid with ancients and have mystic boots, god cape, and a few other magic-boosting items and then ice barrage your opponent the moment they start to escape. If they don't teleport it's a guaranteed kill. Otherwise hopefully you can KO them w/ range somehow. Vengeance is probably the most reliable-- I usually just sat back and used dragon bolts (e) and practiced timing my vengeance properly. Phoenix necklaces allow you to go for kills without worrying about getting KO'd yourself.
