  1. I would appreciate a new path finder system. Click on your map, click where you want to go and then just sit back and relax. ^This is never going to happen BUT, if I could get one thing done in RS, I would opt for the stupid glitch where your firefox screen goes black and your google chrome screen goes white to never happen again :(
  2. Why the hell is your other pillar green? What was their reason for banning you? I've been seeing that if Jagex denies all your appeals - as a last resort you can pay one time fee to get your account back. I don't know how much it is, but this might be your only choice left.
  3. Non-rushers generally do not benefit when rushing, because are not playing for the same reasons as you are, or else they would be rushing. Therefore, whether or not it makes sense to you for non-rushers to "just get with the program," they're not going to. Therefore clan chats like the one this topic is about is a very good idea. Complaining about non-rushers joining teams on w117 that are rushing, but not advertised as such, is a waste of time. EDIT: Actually, complaining about non-rushers joining rushing teams that are advertised as such is still a waste of time, because at that point, they're just griefing. It's kind of lame, but so is RC PKing and that's never stopped anyone. I can definitely see your point but most of the time when I'm in a party (I do this a lot too), people flip out at the guy whose taking his time - skilling, making armour, having fun. 99.99% of the time, these outbreaks of anger just turn the guy off to what you're saying. If you're going to start out by calling him an idiot or other names, he's not going to want to listen to you in the future. I understand the elitist attitudes of some DG-ers. They have spent a lot of time training themselves to rush through DG's and get the most exp out of it. However, they never seem to remember them when they weren't so good. They never stop to actually think "Oh this guy hasn't been pushed to be a better DG'er. Maybe a few kind words and suggestions would help him out" but rather just assault the guy. In all honesty, we just need people with better attitudes to play RS.
  4. This may sound like not such a great idea but an alternative is to kill hill giants. It'll be great if you have a cannon, and a bonecrusher - while they may be really easy to kill, they're one of the best charm droppers (especially at the low level). Couple that with your 2-3 hit melee on them, and they'll be dead so fast, you wouldn't know what to do with them. Although you can always find other monsters that are slightly stronger and wouldn't be such a waste of cannonballs. Some other ideas are: Greater Demons (great for dropping crimson, like one in three drops a crimson) and they have pretty low defense
  5. It seems that green dragons would probably be your best bet. It'll go considerably faster if you have a yak and just bank the bones through that - although I can see how it can get boring fast :(
  6. I lied, I haven't really timed myself - but in one run (took about 15 minutes) I got close to 1k tokens. My DG is lvl 59
  7. A large part of dungeoneering depends on two things: a.) Your own ability b.) The ability to find a group of decent people who you can run the larger floors with. In the beginning you should be getting one DG level every few levels you do on complexity 6 -Each DG takes about 10-15 minutes if you're good at it - maybe upwards of 20-25 minutes if you're not so good and if you're downright terrible, well who knows... Once you hit around level 50 - you can get upwards of ~850-1000 tokens an hour on solo so it definitely shouldn't take that long. However, the beginning levels are really annoying :(
  8. Hey, my name is Kevin and I'm looking for new guild/clan. I just became a member (returned to rs after a long time and I thought I would give RS member a shot). I'm super active - I'm on for a couple of hours a day. You can tell by my stats that I've been playing a ton since I got members: I'm looking for a few things in a guild/clan: -No idiots - I just don't want to deal with anymore then I already have to :( -Active - I don't want to be the only one on all day I may sound a little harsh but that's because I just came from a guild with some idiots that made my stay very annoying as well as my playing experience bad. If you require that I need to be at a certain combat level - I can easily do that as well. For now, I'm trying to skill and make some money as well as complete a few quests every day or so. However, I would love to be in a guild and attend events/ help people with what they need/etc
  9. LOL, potential new way to make tons of money? A lot of these will be pures and probably won't affect the owners too much. There should be a way to kill those higher level botters who actually have items worth losing :P They should make more resistant monsters in the game i.e resistant to melee or mage or range. That way we can just lure them into one of these guys and watch them slowly and painfully die.
  10. Great idea! We should make a thread full of ways to kill off botters :P
  11. Doubtful - just think about the experience they provide. 50 exp per potion, as opposed to >150 you can get easily with some of the higher level skills. Disregarding the time involved in making three times the potions you would - think about the tarromin. I HIGHLY doubt many people farm tarromin, while farming the higher level herbs make more sense. Making and selling 1k str potions might seem like a good idea, but now think about selling 10k str potions. I don't think there is either a buyer or a sellers market for either one. Plus, if it actually made sense to do this - the price probably would've plummeted. Tons of people are looking for efficient, cheap ways to get herblore exp.
  12. Many of these scams are actually in part glitches. The other ones aren't that obviously - it's not like a lot of people get scammed by the "trimming rune armour" or things to that nature. Some of these scams are quite elaborate and I've seen multiple people who only wanted to act as a good Samaritan get owned. I would have less qualms if it's just some greedy guy who gets scammed but it's disturbing to see guys who are quite nice and just want to help get owned in the process. I like RS better without the free trade/wildy (not that I really mind) but a lot of people are getting scammed - and having free trade/wildy really halted a lot of that. They should just make staking limitless.
  13. Please let me know how you get on. But do everything I posted before replying ;) Thanks, Quenya Lol do everything you say before replying? It's not a everyday thing - it's a sporadic glitch (for lack of a better word). Some days, I won't get it at all and some days I'll get it like 15 times. I've looked around and it's supposedly a problem with a lot of the browsers. There isn't much you can do - I updated java, reinstalled firefox & chrome and have the latest edition for both. Jagex has acknowledged it at one point and said they were taking some steps to solving it - although, they did say it was a java error and it was going to be hard to get around. What I have noticed though - (this isn't any real concrete evidence but just my experience) is that google chrome gets this error a lot less then firefox. However, on google - the box turns white instead of black.
  14. You're probably better off going melee in f2p. None of the other classes really even hold up a little against an accurate melee with a decent amount of str.
  15. ^^ Agreed. It's great if you can hit 300's easily but it won't help if anybody can one hit you.
  16. I don't think anybody can answer that save yourself. Just do an hour of each and then just compare that. I think that yews are probably better for money
  17. That site seems pretty updated (last updated on 1/30/11) Does it take into account all the extras, i.e birds nest and what not?
  18. Also it seems that gathering mahogany is not such a bad idea You pay 224.6 at 100% approval and their current ge price is 306, that coupled with a nest every 350 logs is good no? Is the 5 maple used just to get the bird nests? How fast do maples sell?
  19. I've been looking around and there have been tons of guides all saying different things to do -some say put all into coal -some say put all into herb -some say 10 into maple/5 into herb If I'm looking for fast/easy GE sells as well as a decent profit margin - anybody care to give some advice?
  20. It's doable - but whether or not it's viable is a whole other question. you just need to get it to lvl 3 then cast confuse
  21. Alright, but where did 30k players go in an hour? Perhaps you're right, maybe 30k players decided to goto work at the same time right when RS updated. And it doesn't have anything to do with being "so crazed". If something interrupts you and it only takes 30 seconds to get back to what you are doing, why wouldn't you go back to what you were doing? Maybe you can come up with a better reason why it took 30,000 players 3 HOURS to log back in. By the way, if you go further up the graph you notice 10k~ players log in every hour. So it is quite possible that the amount lost to bots was only recouped over "normal" population growth. (Normal would obviously include the bots being restarted) Somewhere, you have to ask yourself why after the update the population number experience normal linear growth, except for a 5-10 minute spike immediately after. I'm not saying none of them are bots, I wouldn't be surprised if a third of them are, but this isn't conclusive enough as a proof. In fact, I'm sure even if there were no bots whatsoever - a graph of online activity would look roughly the same for any game that involves a sever check or something to that effect. There can be hundreds of reason for this, people aren't going to "work" but they could be doing other things. I know that when there's an update for RS, I'll more likely go play another game - league of legends (which games usually take 45min - 1hour) or something of that sort. Or after that server check, some people may feel like "hmm, let's go eat' or something. If a break is provided - some people are going to take that chance to do something else, and in 5 minute's time - they'll still be doing that thing not waiting for runescape to get back on. You wanted me to give you a reason why people didn't get on asap - and here's a few 1.) Deciding to play a different game in the time waiting for it to get back on 2.) Not knowing that it's a 5 minute check so actually waiting before checking to see if it's on 3.) Sleep - judging from the graph itself, it looks like most of the RS demographic does not play at that listed time. -I know that many times, I get carried away with games and I'll stay up extremely late to play. If there's a server check or any reason that the game went down - I'll take that as my reason to go to sleep.
  22. Thanks everybody for the help! I'm definitely going to train slayer. In fact after I get that bonecrusher - I'm going to camp hill giants for some good prayer/combat ratio and more importantly charms. After I get a decent amount to up my summoning level, I'll be training combat via slayer from then on. I was just confused as why everybody said train slayer as a means to make money/level up stats. Green, can you give me an estimate of how long you spent getting that slayer cape? Maybe a "X hours for Y months" or something along that line? Thanks for your time again guys! :P
  23. How does that make any sense at all? While I agree that the botting rate is extremely high - your logic is a total fail. When I see a server update check I never get back on in the next 5 minutes. I'm not so crazed that I sit at my computer just waiting for the moments I can play RS again ...
  24. It's been getting progressively worse the past few days. I log out in the strangest of places, like when I'm walking from one farming patch to another where there shouldn't be any lag. In addition, it seems lately that when I do stuff on RS - when I'm using ff, the screen will black out every once in a while and where the java loads is just a black screen :( Then i tried using google chrome and instead I get a white screen... You would think that with the influx of returning players, one would at least try to make a good impression on them. Except its worse then usual :/
  25. I mean I know that, I was wondering if training slayer was actually more efficient because of the helm or was it just because slayer is hard skill to train.
