  1. Either this place if full of more idiots then I realized, or you just don't understand what random means in the term random number generator generating random numbers randomly. I just got 5 effigies from steel dragons in about 10 kills. Does that means that they have a 1/2 drop rate for effigies? Obviously... they do because I got five effigies in ten kills. I can't tell if you're calling bladewing stupid for "believing qeltar"....or if you're calling him stupid for saying to use a berserker ring.... Either way...you're stupid. Just sounds like somebody who decided to read one post in the whole thread :/
  2. The answer is definitely not in the first/second pages. (Or on most if not all of the pages in this thread)
  3. If you're going to train anyways - you might as well do it on your main. You would have access to dragon hatchet and you'd have access to a lot more locations not to mention trees. If you're 100% going to go for wc in f2p - you should just find two willow trees, chop and drop. This requires a lot more attention but is definitely faster then cutting and banking at draynor. There are tons of places, but I usually use the one near port sarim (mainly because nobodys ever there so I don't have to look for a different spot). It's near the church thats a little up from port sarim (I don't know which map direction it is - I think north? not too sure though).
  4. I saved up all my points for a bonecrusher and it's pretty useful at lower levels. With your stats, I feel like it probably won't matter much because you can definitely make a ton of money and just buy Dbones or what not to use on altars. For me however, I just started so having a bonecrusher while I train on giants is decent for both charms/prayer exp. Additionally, with overcrowding/bots at yaks/ghouls/bandits/etc (easy monsters to power train on), the exp rate was pretty decent as well. I don't think that a max melee player would benefit much at all from a bonecrusher - you might as well go rush for a chaotic rapier or something.
  5. GE has prices at about 5 mil  For these rates, are they calculated or theorized? It seems like under different conditions (defense of monsters/attack/etc), one would outweigh the other. I think if one's attack level is high enough and the monsters def is low enough - the SS would probably be better. However, if one's attack is pretty low and one will train slayer and occasionally get monsters that are a good amount of level higher plus have pretty good defense - the dscimmy + ddef would probably be better. I've seen people selling them at 2m, but that was a few days ago. It's true that on higher defence the defender has the advantage, however few slayer monsters (and no powertraining monsters) actually have high defence: waterfiends, metal dragons, black dragons, wyverns. Of these, the first you would use an ss for (crush), the last you would use a shield on (korasi's) and the others you would stab (korasi's). The dragon scimitar doesn't really come into it. Gah, I'd love to buy one for 3 mil even. I think it's just the huge price difference in the Dscimmy and the SS. It's hard to compare since the Dscimmy is like 100k while the SS is over 20 times that. Sounds like you're right though - the OP's attack is lvl 80 and it just seems like a SS would be a great weapon for him.

  7. Does the Legends guild have runite ores? Anyhow, you can try the Heroes guild - there's almost never anybody there. However, there's only two (?) rocks I think. Theres a bunch of coal and two mith/addy rocks as well if you wanna check it out.
  8. Godswords are 750k each. I would alch that, wouldn't you?
  9. lulz. If you really want to figure out how to DG faster - read that guide. Nobody's going to type it out for you if you're not going to look for yourself.
  10. There's no real shortcut for it. Just solo c6 as much as you can. At lower levels - you're definitely better off solo-ing the DG's then trying to find a successful party to run with.
  11. flashing anything but ss w/ protects isn't worth it. Really? I was under the impression that protects can't be flashed anymore. (At least that's what I was told a week or so ago in a clan chat) Is there anyway to know if you're doing it right (if protect doesn't work?). Obviously if protects can be flashed - I'd just go to a high level monster pray and see if I get hit or not but otherwise - any methods/tips/anything?
  12. How much do you actually save by flash praying as opposed to not flash praying. Is there any way one can practice flash prayer (other then just by doing it on slayer tasks or what not) I want to make sure that I'm timing it right before I go somewhere and get slaughtered for doing it all wrong :(
  13. no im talking about real life, the real life impication of fishing for 60 hours is lazy. id say. i dunno, fair enough its how some people relax. but yeah, i think im less lazy for wishing the caps were lower since id play less time playing runescape for want i wanted to achieve in it, hence more time doing things in real life. tbf most peopled probs jus watch tv with those hours.. You do what you want in life. If you want to play RS, play Rs - if you want to go out then go out. It doesn't make you any harder working by not wanting to do something completely and only do half of it. In fact, it makes you MORE lazy.
  14. ^I highly doubt that they're "losing" any customers at all. Just look at activities in the past couple of days - activity has been shooting up and if anything they're gaining a whole ton of customers.
  15. You're offering a lot less then what they're going for. And their price is going up so...
  16. Magic is more of a situational skill rather then something you can rely on like melee. I think that if you're solo-ing, magic is a fine thing to use. However, looking at your RC - it looks like if you were to mage, you would be stuck on bolt spells. In which case, you're definitely better off using melee. Also, if you're going to rush with people - it might be a nice idea to grab some runes (the essences are dirt cheap) and use the mage when it's more helpful then melee. However, if you're going to need somebody to craft runes for you or if you're going to use bolt spells - I'd say ditch that and just go melee. Plus the beserker ring works wonders (+11% with the first rank). I think it's pretty safe to say that none of the mage rings are all that helpful and they won't surpass the benefits received from the beserker ring.
  17. The whole point of the prayer urns is to complement the actual changes to the ashes themselves, which are arguably just as significant of an update. Impious ashes are 4xp Accursed ashes 12.5 Infernal 62.5 With the urn, add 20%. That's the info I needed, thank you. So infernal is approx 75~ exp But is it per ash or per urn? It's the same regardless of how you look at it. 20% for the whole urn = 20% extra per ash.
  18. You get more exp for having the urn and getting it filled. I think the bonus is 20% or so.
  19. What the hell were you doing to get 400k an hour? I went there to try and get some proboscis for summoning (it's pretty amazing for summoning at low levels) and it was so boring. The masks that you get from the Broodoo sells for like 20-30k each but they never sell. ever.
  20. It seems that everybody thinks I should go hunt for crimsons Should I be leveling with crimsons at my level? Most of the guides I read said to make granite crabs until you can make use of some greens - like compost mounds or something. Should I be training with Honeybadgers instead?
  21. ^Thanks, I think I'm going to use Waterfiends when I get my combat/prayer/summoning up a bit more. Any tips on greens? I figure that's what I should be using to level (at least for now)
  22. After reading a few things on slayer - I was advised to get prayer up to 70 and summoning up (at least to bunyips) I'm having a super horrible time training this skill - my summoning level is 31 right now For the moment, I'm making granite grabs mostly - waiting a little bit more before I use my greens on Beavers and then will make Bull Ants/Macaws However, I'm having a HUGE trouble getting enough of these summoning charms. I'm trying to keep my melee exp/charm drop ratio high since I don't want to be level 120 before I even get a chance at using Bunyips/Unicorns and the likes. So basically, what are some good monsters that drop charms often? I spent a few hours at hill giants and moss giants and they just end up dropping tons of golds. Green/Crimson come in every 50-75ish golds and that's pretty slow. The runescape wiki site is totally off for most of the monsters (maybe it's outdated) but both the charm ratios as well as the charm drops rates are totally off. So I was hoping maybe you guys could give me good suggestions on where to get: -Green charms -Crimson charms While maintaining a good exp ratio. Thanks for your time!
  23. It's a pretty nice update for prayer. Like you said, it won't make a humongous difference but I expect the price of all bones to come down (even if it's only a little) Would be nicer if the urns held on for more exp - it'd be nice only to sacrifice one inventory space as opposed to 10.
  24. Whenever something bizarre happens - I always go and system restore a couple of days back. Usually, this works - but it sounds like you might be lagging or something along those lines. How many new windows are you trying to open up? I know I used to have this toolbar with news from cnn or something. Sometimes, I'd be clicking and I would use the scroll button on the mouse which coincidentally is also the open in a new tab button. Whenever this happened, my computer would try to load like 100 new pages at once and it would just flip out for a couple of minutes and just not do anything.
  25. Well, if you consider that botters pay for membership fees - it seems clear why Jagex wouldn't issue immediate bans. Bots are not a sparse event that you don't come across much. If you do some things like fishing/wc/farming - you'll definately catch a good amount of bots (or just some people who play like bots). http://www.chacha.com/question/how-many-people-play-runescape http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RuneScape Assuming this is right (I have no idea if it is or not) and guessing that 1/3 "active accounts" are botters (I'm sure it's at least that percentage - apparently, it's not so hard to bot on multiple accounts at any one given instance). If we suppose that 1/2 of the accounts are members (I figure this rate is probably a lower estimate) and even if runescape catches 1/10 of the botters, they lose out in 1/(2x3x10) x 10,000,000 x 5 = over 800,000 dollars PER month. I'm guessing these are lower end estimates and if Jagex starts banning people - there must be a few people who would get falsely banned. That's a HUGE load of income and everybody here plays RS despite the abundance of bots. So it becomes a question of maintaining income by not banning anybody or losing income by banning people. The choice seems pretty obvious if you look at it like that.
