  1. So every time I log in for < 1min it'll add up each time? That is the question in a nutshell. I was posting from my phone earlier, so I had issues, but I *know* lobby doesn't count, i said that before :wall: :wall: . The big thing is, will all the short, less the 1 min logins add up? Looks like it. RS keeps tracks of games via ticks and that's probably how the bonus xp meter works. After 30 minutes or (30 x 20 = 600 game ticks), then your boost will degrade, and the process will repeat. For boosts though, I think they operate via 20 straight game ticks so whenever that's done - the boost will be lost.
  2. Agreed - getting to 91 Dg is no easy feat. Hopefully, you should know what you're doing - if not, how did you even get there in the first place?
  3. OK, fair enough, I thin you explained it pretty well. Just gotta work out that prestige stuff etc. But shouldn't I lvl my dung a bit before starting to use peng points? I mean the xp difference is pretty big. And don't i need to unlock the floors. Or do I just need to have like 39 DNG to go to floor 20 and I dont have to even ever go to say like 17-19 floor? The levels unlock the floor - it doesn't matter if you've completed up to that level or not. If you're dying to start DG, you can do it now. It's just the exp is pretty bad now. However, this isn't a bad idea - since you need to get accoustomed to bosses/puzzles anyways. Spend lamp/penguin points/tog points on DG but don't get it up to 50 and try to party. People are just going to end up yelling at you. In all honesty, only like the first 20 or so DG levels were horrible. That's how it is with most skills though - starting them off is horribly excruciating and boring.
  4. If you're pretty low level (combat wise) you could probably get to leech f2p for free. Look for people above level 90 forming a team and if your level is low enough - it won't halve their exp.
  5. The other thread doesn't specifically address this topic but there's no need to create 1000 threads all addressing different parts of the same issue. There are tons of people offering advice/asking for advice/telling what they're going to do for bonus exp weekend. For the most part it seem - people are going to be training those money sucking or time intensive skills - namely: Construction, Herblore, Summoning, and Agility. There are the most popular ones I've seen as of now. I'll probably wait till after bonus exp weekend to do herblore - I'm just farming/selling my herbs now and wait til prices crash before I buy back herbs. I'll definately be training construction (gotta get to that altar!) and after that - work on some odd and ends. When the 10 hours expire, I'll then go get my summoning to 68 for Bunyip. Hunting those charms now is a bisch though.
  6. When you're logged out, it won't count. When you're in the lobby - it won't count either. However, for the rest of the time (entering in bank pin, withdrawing, etc) I'm not really sure.
  7. P2P - if you're ever thinking about doing it, do it asap. EVERYTHING trains so much faster in p2p, so you'd save yourself a lot of time. Congrats on your first 99!
  8. ^^ Maybe you should get fire surge, or at least level up your magic a bit. This way, you'll take less damage from Ahrim.
  9. Because goldsmith gauntlets and sc hammers don't work making it fail to do smithing on bonus xp You could just fill up 10 of each urn and teleport them away in the first 30 minutes for a nice boost in next to no time. ^If that even works. Question: RS doesn't really specify - when they're counting the time you play, it's not actually 30 minutes right? It's 30 minutes of game ticks of doing something? i.e. in your POH, talking to your servent/removing your furniture doesn't count towards the timer? Or do they just start counting 30 as soon as you start skilling?
  10. ^ yeah, I never been on a run so I don't really know what to do. I was planning on just using melee for everybody but ranging ahrim? Or should I be using magic on the melees but range on ahrim and melee on karil? I also don't have 70 construction yet - so I think I'll hold off for 70 prayer (until after the bonus exp weekend madness dies down) Or should I just get 70 construction and get prayer during the bonus exp? If so, I guess I can train agility/thieving or some random odd and ends til bonus exp weekend.
  11. Is it possible (viable rather) to do barrows without ancients or would it be too slow?
  12. After of all this talk about barrowing - I wanted to try out barrowing for once! I looked up a couple of guides and the recent ones just advise on how to complete the barrow. The other ones just advise you to wear full rune, and dragonhide but it seems a little outdated. Anybody have any advice on what to bring? I have about ~15-ish mil to spend on this, and I have tons of items to sell if I need to get more money. Also, I'm using this guide: http://forum.tip.it/topic/287598-opeis-guide-to-barrow-tunnels/ ^Is this a good guide to follow?
  13. You have to cut a branch from the swaying tree. Use a knife on the branch to make it a lyre. Instead of going through the trouble of making the rock soup - you can just buy the golden fleece from the trolll. Spin the golden fleece then use it on the Unstrung lyre to make it the enchanted lyre. You may or may not need to bring a shark or whatever to enchant it - I don't remember if you get it enchanted or not :(
  14. I think that if you talk to the guy who starts the quest, he'll give you one if you don't have one
  15. Sweet slayer level! Is that 3k all from doing the highest level tasks that you can get? Why not sell some of that stuff? :P
  16. I don't think master farmers ever give you tree seeds - only herb seeds. Everybody is always promoting slayer but that's mainly just for getting exp in it. If you don't mind so much about slayer - I suggest camping water fiends for the charms. You can get upwards of 70ish crimon charms an hour and that'll just be great for later - and from what I've been hearing, they also dole out a tiny profit as well. ^Plus unlocking yak is great for any future money making adventures After you hit 57 summoning, you could make natures like Badgers said earlier.
  17. I'm not sure if this will be any help but I got a bonecrusher. It's pretty decent (especially since I'm lower leveled), you can just do what you normally do and still get prayer exp for it. Some (not that many) slayer tasks have monsters that drop bones and this is a easy way to deal with it. It just takes up one inventory so it's not such a heavy price to pay. However, since it sounds like you're pretty close to end game - I don't know if you would want to sacrifice an inventory slot for a bonecrusher if you're going to mass pray bones at an guilded altar though.
  18. I'm pretty sure anything that required ashes will only take the ashes obtained from burning a log - for the purposes of quests at least.
  19. It should be 10 in maples + 5 in herbs. Um, once a week is fine - although if you do up your rep sometime during the week, profits will go up. Not significantly but everything helps. Personally, I just rake the patches next to the bush patch once a day or once every two/three days if I don't remember.
  20. To level herblore - I just farmed ranarrs. I then would just sell each ranarr and in turn buy the herb + secondary for the potions that I needed to make. At lvl 51 - the cost to make most potions is about 1/2 - 2/3 that of a ranarr so that's an easy way to get herblore up. I wouldn't advise doing MTK for the herbs but rather doing maples/herbs. Sell everything you get (keep some of the higher end herbs for the future) and then buy what you need. I didn't exactly train on lowest cost but around that level - I just made a ton of Super Attacks. You'll need them to make Extreme Attacks (plus the secondary are cheap as hell) so why not just stock up on them to use for combat/save for later.
  21. ^ As I said before gold charms sound reasonable on paper but if you factor in how slowly you get exp - it's really not worth it. Grab some sharks, some potions, 1k cash or so, and a hatchet. Head to Brimhaven Dungeons. There are a few greater demons there - the first 10-15 minutes may be annoying from the constant attack from the dogs but if you position yourself when you're fighting - most of the time, you can get a greater demon to aggro you as soon as you kill one. They have decent drops, you can high alch most of their drops for a decent profit.
  22. The attack style your using, NOT range attack effects your cannons accuracy. Also, Tavelry is NOT multi so idk what you're talking about. Quy covered most of it, if you have 70+ agility and value your time fairly low you could use a tort and bank the ashes, but if you value your time over ~1m p/h (you should), don't bother. My bad OP - I think I got confused because I was at Taverley the other day for both black demons and hellhounds and somehow confused the fact that the black demons were in a non multi zone :( Also, I read up on the dwarf multicannon - I was told ign (game chat) that the cannon was affected by range level + range bonus. This was wrong however, and is shown on wiki: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Dwarf_multicannon In that case you might as well stack a bonus whether it be stab/slash/crush/etc and just focus on that to get the cannon to hit more often. However, you should still think about some prayer gear - a pros leg + a sw cape would probably make a pretty large difference if you're going to stay for a while.
  23. I don't know exactly how it would be implemented into a DG - how would exp/etc work? If they just got free exp, it'd be easy to just have one sacrifice his time and control the bosses make them dumb and walk around in circles while being attacked and such. However, I feel like this would be an absolutely amazing idea for the POH's. It would be extremely cool if you could stick some overworld bosses in there i.e GWD guys, Barrow brothers, and the likes. Imagine trying to kill these guys in a multi combat zone where they can all target just one guy and all put on different attack styles. It would be a lot more then your same old same old monster/scenery/attacks all day long.
  24. what the hell are you talking about? waterfiends have an ~85% drop rate, KBD has a ~75% drop rate for 3, it's not rare to finish a kuradal assignment with 80+ crimson charms. this, or cannoning black demons, if you bank the ashes (70+ agility reccomended), you break even, and average ~70 crimsons per hour, and an effigy every ~2 hours. What the hell are YOU on about? If you read the op's post - he was looking for a LOW level critter to kill. LOW-LEVEL. I was in his shoes a few days ago - rather then going for high level monsters which would take longer to kill - I decided that I would kill low leveled monsters because while the drop rate is lower, I can kill multiple lower leveled monsters then one high leveled one. It DOESN'T work, there's nothing thats low level that has a good green/crimson/blue drop rate and the rates on wiki are totally wrong for some of the slayer monsters. Get off my back, and please read the whole thread before contributing.
  25. 78 att and str ... 80 def I want low lvls for fast drop rate. Greater and black demons would take too much time to kill, and I have never used a cannon in my life, (even though I did the quest the day it came out) due to incredibly high cost. That's what I thought too but it's definitely not true. Even though training on lower level monsters nets you more kills - their charm drop rate just straight up sucks. You sshould just bring some food (you have a pretty decent gear), go to taverly and kill greater demons. They have pretty low defense and they have decent drop rates. Black demons hit a LOT harder, and they're good if you can spare some cannonballs. ALSO, only at lower levels ~21 or so is gold charms good (and I guess above 50ish). The secondary for mosquitos are either extremely hard to obtain (I've been there for an hour to only get like 11) or don't sell very well on the GE. Marigolds sell fairly (a couple every now and then) but they're 5k each. Honestly, just go do slayer - wait to train summoning til you get a good amount of summoning charms. Also do that desert treasure? quest. There's one that will give you a exp lamp that can be used twice for 20k each (or 25k I'm not 100% sure). You have to get your summoning to level 30 but that shouldn't be too bad with a good amount of gold charms + iron ores.
