^That makes a lot more sense. After all - slayer is a pretty hard skill to get to lvl 99 (Congrats on that btw :P) I was just a little confused was all - at first, I figured it might have to do with the increased damage % that the slayer helm provides but I figure that a.) It wasn't that much if you have to waste a lot of time running around/changing inventories b.) While slayer monsters do generally have great charm rates & amazing as well as limited to slayer monster only drops, I figure there must be a few tasks that are just horrendously difficult in that they either yield [cabbage]ty exp or very few drops or drops that don't sell

Does Metasequoia & Pepakura layout the whole plan for you or is there additional work you have to do? How did you get the model of TzTok-Jad anyhow? Is Metasequoia a RS-related program or does it work for any 3-D model. Btw, this is an amazing piece - at first I thought I was looking at a image that you drew. I was super impressed - then I realized that it was an actual model and by then I was blown away :o

This sounds like a cool but weird idea. Even if you got some nice slayer drops/clue rewards - wouldn't you still not be able to do anything with it? I think that a lot of this game involves interaction with other players (or at least the GE) and boycotting it wouldn't really do you any good. However, this is a pretty original idea - best of luck if you do decide to go on with it! -
I think this was a great guide. It may not have been the longest guide ever - but it was short, concise and easy to read. It's definitely a really ingenious way to level, and I'm grateful that he brought it to our attention. Maybe, there are better ways to do it - and his guide can definitely benefit from checking out these other methods and seeing how viable they are. Additionally - maybe the thread start can talk about ways to get the brawler gloves. It's not a lot of work by any means to just google it (as noobs like I would do :P) but it might be better to have it in here so it's totally self sufficient. Also - you have a ton of sections. Some of them can be totally omitted or combined into other ones. For example (2.) doesn't look like it's totally needed. Maybe you can combine some of the sections which are just a couple of lines, and try to shorten it out a little more.

I'm pretty new to members - and I've been reading up a few guides/forums to get myself acquainted. I find this really strange - people keep saying that slayer is a good money maker as well as a good way to train combat. This doesn't make much sense to me - if you really wanted money/exp, wouldn't it make more sense to just camp one monster instead of running around killing x amount of monsters, go to a slayer master to get a new assignment and then move onto your next job. Even with lunar spells (npc contanct) and all your teleports/etc, I don't see how doing slayer tasks would beat an unmitigated camping of a slayer monster. TL/DR- Why not just stay at a slayer monster as opposed to getting new tasks? New task = travel time =? less money/exp?

Forums on tip.it indicate that if you used a bot - they would've had access to your account. Since you never told anybody your password then signs would indicate you were botting and they got your account :/

I like doing quests :P They're fun and some of them provide a pretty interesting backstory. However, others make absolutely no sense :( I spent most of my first week questing when I got members. However, that got boring so I decided to train some random skills. Maybe the opposite will work for you - after a couple of hours of wc/rc/etc something that's super trivial and menial - you can do a quest which will be a refreshing change.
-
With the bots down - you could go kill Yaks/Ghouls although I'm not really sure of their exp/hour. How about the living rock creatures? There's a pretty decent guide to it here.

Check the runescape ge prices. Look for items that have gone up in price - and buy those. Then you have to hope that they'll actually go up in price. However, most trends are continual - but you also have to be wise about what to buy. Don't go buying 1000000000000 waterskins that went up 100%, buy stuff that people would buy on a regular basis.

Completely agree. Take this scenario from the previous method - Player A (main account) has levelled 90 in all stats legitimately. Player A turns to the dark side and bots to 99 in all remaining stats. Player A is perm banned. Player A quits RS as he/she can't be bothered legitimately levelling to the 90s again. Player A does not return or make a new account. Scenario from new method - Player A (main account) has levelled 90 in all stats legitimately. Player A turns to the dark side and bots to 99 in all remaining stats. Player A is stat reset to 85 in all levels and has to pay $15 if they want their account back. Player A repays the debt, regains their account with 85 in all stats (lower than before botting). Player A doesn't bot again as all they've accomplished is -$15 and lower stats. ------------------------------------------------------- That doesn't affect me or any other players, Jagex (which is a business, people seem to forget that) have profited marginally and retained a player. I understand where that's coming from - but this update makes very little sense in my eyes. Yes, Jagex is a business - but as a business, they should be trying to keep their returning customers. By instating this ridiculous rule, cheaters are barely penalized for crimes they commit. It's hard to tell how much is botting, how much is actual legit stats - so I wouldn't be surprised if multiple botters didn't actually receive a full penalty on their actions. To me, it seems like the punishment is a slap on the wrist and not enough. By reinstating botters/rwt - you're fostering a community of cheaters which brings down the worth of not only the game but your accomplishments in the game as well. However, despite all this ranting and raving - multiple game companies have changed tracks from providing a nice game to charging money and trying every way to squeeze money out of their consumers. In all the games I've played - the games will continue to exist, if not flourish.
-
It doesn't matter. If you're going deep - you can't teleport away. Teleport is blocked (I think at lvl 20 wildy and higher although it can be 15). So if you encounted a serious pk/clan - they would bind/slaughter you before you have any real chance to escape
-
Yaks are good for using knives I think. They shouldn't have too much range def. Umm, if you look around - there are a couple of chinning guides. In particular I think (not sure) but you can profit by chinning nech's.

Sounds like just desserts!

It really depends what you want to do with your account. For now, it has some pretty great stats - just keep it that way and keep training strength. You can just keep wearing your iron full :) -One idea you can branch off is have 1 defense but level up prayer. That way you can wear monk robes (which aren't too much worse then iron). That way you can pray both protection as well as ultimate strength/incredible reflexes. You can keep your attack at 40 and it'll be a pretty great account. If you really wanted to get a rune pure (i don't think it's actually considered a pure anymore) I would probably start a new account. It sounds like a lot of work but it'll be worth it. From the start, I would just train atk/str/def/prayer. -Cap your def at 40, prayer at 43 and just work with that. Having a 40/73/1 is pretty nice and it'll be tons easier to make a rune pure. That account looks like it took up a lot more effort and there's no real reason to give up now.
-
You could use them to bind? Agreed though - prices would rise that much. I feel like prices of death runes would probably shoot up.

WAIT ONE SECOND WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPEND

Your logic makes perfect sense. But there is one flaw u assume that all of us by membership for a year. Like everybody else noted - if anybody decides to continue their membership during anytime in the month of February - it will be a 28 day membership. I can't imagine a day or two being too much loss, and there's definitely not many if any people who quit member just for the month of February to save themselves 2 days of member which equates to about 50 cents or so. -
Still, you probably don't want to accuse someone of botting, when you technically have no proof yourself. You can report them, but there's no need to name them specifically for all of us. How would you feel if someone said on forums you were botting and you actually weren't? I mean it's pretty much proof. I don't have any real evidence like a screenshot of their computer or anything along those lines but, what kind of player tries to target a monster even though the very same one is behind them? They're either botting or trying to convince people they're botting and i'm pretty sure it's not that latter.
-
For example, i'm doing slayer at ghouls right now. There are two players <names removed> I tried to talk to them no response. That's fine. Funny thing is when two ghouls spawn near each other withing like a second or so - BOTH of them will attack one for one attack then try to click on the other one. He'll keep running to the other one evne though the one behind him is attacking him. They don't stop unless somebody kill the one they're trying to target. Now they can't possibly be that idiotic that they're trying to target somebody when a prime target is already targeting him. Pretty sure they're botters.
-
Yeah, there are afkers but there are also botters. Most of the time, if it's a skill that requires constant monitoring - mining, combat, high alching - you can probably bet that if they never respond they're either a.) botting b.) turned of public chat i don't actually know that many people who turn off public chat for giggles. I can hardly think clicking all of 5 different things for hours on end is fun and that chatting would take you away from that. Either that or you're super dedicated
-
There is if you're botting. Additionally, how did RS even detect bots in the first place? It seems to me that they're pretty rampant - if they had any legitimate bot detection, botting would be half of what it is now already...
-
In my opinion - it'll probably go up for a few days before it comes down in price and stabilizes. Like most new things, some people will want to try it a bit before they get tired of it and move on to something new. I figure there must be a handful of people who would train prayer to get an advantage in Pvp. That will drive up demand in along with that a increase in price. It doesn't make sense if people would buy less dbones then usual - you would still have about the same number of people training prayer as usual, and there's an additional amount of players who want to train it now for the wildy. However, your guess is as good as mine. When I see different discussions about whether an items price will increase or decrease - there are both valid reasons for either way. Even so, there's only a couple of hours before free trade comes into action - there's very little point in trying to hoard dbones now. It'll probably make the most sense to hold off on training prayer for the moment - wait a month or two then buy it when prices stabilize.

What people in the 80s-90s consider decent teams would generally seem slow to people 105+. Don't get me wrong: there are some very good dungeoneers in the 80s and 90s. But they're in the minority compared to the masses of hopelessly incompetent players. It's very true that getting an opportunity in the low levels is hard. But mid level clans have failed for various reasons. If you think you can do better with one, go for it. The one point I will grant you is that 105 sounds like a strange number. The only truly significant levels are 50 and 100 in terms of setting requirements. Realize, though, that at level 100-104 you will not be kicked from too many 105+ teams because of level. The dung system is not entirely elitist, though you will find some people like that without a doubt. It's set up so that your exp rate can increase as you level up, and setting reasonable requirements is a part of that. I agree, the 105 requirement does sound awfully odd though. However, it's kind of a round about argument about getting good at dg-ing and getting into good dg-ing groups. Although we can all read tons of guides, most of your dg will come from experience - and without it, it's hard to get into a good group. However, it seems that nobody is really willing to help you out and give you tips. They're just all about getting their own exp or tokens or whatever and they're just looking for people of the same caliber. It does make some sense though, nobody really wants a player that will hinder them - especially if they have better players to choose from at the moment. I think that RS should change DG a bit. Some things they could add can really change how people DG and even improve different player's skill. Right now, it just seems like a pretty large waste of time til you hit lvl 90 or so and that's definitely not an easy task. Dg would be a lot more fun if they could: -give a pretty decent bonus for people who complete dg's solo (don't take away exp for being in a team because in all honesty - working together as a team is pretty difficult sometimes) -give bonus/penalties for completing DG's within reasonable time periods. That way, people can notice "oh, i'm getting penalized for being slow - how can i work to expedite my gaming?" I don't think that most of RS players actually read forums thoroughly and then work on their game - at least I didn't used to be. Most of the time, I learn from experience and if I don't realize that I'm not doing something wrong - why would I change it?

Sharks at 85? You do realise you still burn them at this level and unless you still cook them 80%+ of the time it isn't worth it. Thanks though :P That was actually quite sound advice. Sharks are pretty great exp. You'll ALWAYS burn them except for having cooking gauntlets at lvl 99. Plus, (I haven't really checked out the other prices yet) but cooking sharks won't make you lose much money. Raws right now are at 865 (you can probably get them for a little cheaper) while cooked ones sell for 988. With a profit of 133 per successful shark cooked, you'd break even by burning 2 sharks for every 15 you cook - and profit otherwise. Plus the exp/hour is pretty great as well.

Agreed^ This happened a few days ago when I was running around farming. My screen turned white and I couldn't log back on until I changed my password. Then it worked fine. However, anybody getting that weird things where the RS screen goes either white (for google chrome) or black (for firefox) It's starting to happen a lot lately, and it's not like the whole screen screws up, just where the java applet was. I looked for some solutions online and everybody's talking about how people may not have the latest java or have firewalls to block it. This isn't the case cause my java is the latest one and I was playing at some point so it's definitely not the firewall either.

I do think that fish prices will go down, but I doubt there will be a real deflation across the board. I think that the harder to get items/more expensive items will see a nice increase in price while easier to get items will see a decrease. My reasoning is this, with the advent of free trade - tons of money will be added to the market. Some of it will be from people hoarding different accounts and finally getting a chance to consolidate all their wealth or that people can bot more on multiple accounts to get money. Now with the easy to get items, i.e fish, ores, logs, etc will drop in price because there will be an influx of these items (increase in supply) - while demand may or may not go up (but definitely won't increase as fast as supply). This will definitely lead to a decrease in price. Harder to get items, gs/3rd age armors/dragon claws/things to that nature will see a constant supply. There certainly aren't too many dropping everyday (plus it's been the same this way for months) while the number of people who can afford them will increase. Constant supply + increase of demand = price hijack. However, there's no extent in predicting how intensive the changes will be - they could be a few k increase/decrease in price or hundreds of thousands of gold in price change. Additionally, there seem to be more merchant-ing guild/clans and there's no way in telling what they're going to do.
