  1. Lots of games have this. Females make up for their lower strength by having higher defence, and males can wear the same set of armor, so females have extra. It's all in the interest of game balance. Although compared to some mmo armors I've seen, the bonuses of the newer bandos look are firmly grounded in reality. (Bet you didn't know a pure gold bikini gives more than double the defence of enchanted plate armor :shades: ) Edit: Ninja'd by Q and Alg.
  2. Haunted mine, taverly dungeon, al-kharid and goblin village, looks like. It also looks like they are tweaking bandos and armadyl armor for females. I wonder when these will be released.
  3. They may not be worth much, but it's still nice to get a rare reward. Gnome Delivery is tied with Barbarian Assault as my favorite minigame.
  4. Scorpion meat can be exchanged for xp books, and it's also faster than suiciding. Probably serum 207.
  5. Updating to java 7 seems to have fixed the problem, though for all I know the problem could have been totally unrelated. Btw D.V. (or anyone else who knows), how do u get those emoticons in the titlebar of your post?
  6. If only we were allowed to claim one as a pet... Inb4Wutevenischarmsprites
  7. Does getting hit by more super-firebreath recharge it? And if not, what happens when it reaches 0%? (I'm assuming if the breath can recharge it then once it reaches 0% it will be unusable until hit again)
  8. 2 days ago I started having this problem where my screen would freeze and I would get kicked out of the game. This mainly happened in dungeoneering when the boss room got opened, and today it happened to me in darkmeyer. I had the dev console open, and the numbers in the box started rising really quickly until they reached 160000 then dropping to 120000 and rising quickly again. How do I fix the problem? Would trying to update java help? I update it whenever an orange icon appears in the taskbar and I'm currently running java version 1.6.0_31. I should probably add, that when this happens I am unable to load any other webpages, so idk if the problem is with my internet or not.
  9. Why is everyone talking about 2-3 floors? The way I understood it, the OP is asking how long it takes to get from level 42 dungeoneering with 5k tokens to level 70 with 30.5k tokens, and that will definitely take a lot more than just 1.5-2 hours.
  10. Idk what you're talking about m8, everyone knows it's pronounced arr-RO-dig-gin. Joking aside, we still don't know how to pronounce it, because when it's spelled "Ardoin" it could either be "Ar-do-in" or "Ar-doyn". Unspam: Edit: ^ ^ Guess we do know pronunciation after all...
  11. Making unstrung unholy symbols gives really good xp at that lvl, and according to the ge prices should actually profit, but idk if they will sell or not.
  12. Those can appear regardless of the bosses you fight. And the Dom Tower isn't good for citing precedent considering lore wise it is the tower putting a bunch of stuff it's accumulated from prior adventurer's etc over the years in to reward you and nothing to do with what you have killed. Especially as what you kill is not actually real, it's just an apparition of your memory. Better precedent source is Barrows, which does not drop any form of body/corpse part in the chest loot. The point I'm trying to make is, people will expect dragon remains as a reward for fighting the Qbd, and since it's a chest, you can give hides/bones as a reward. Jagex could even tie it in to lore by saying that the chest contains scraps from failed dragonkin experiments or something.
  13. There could still be dragon bones and hides in the reward chest, kind of like dragon bones appear in the dom tower chest if you fight Elvarg before cashing in your dom factor.
  14. First time my fps ever dropped this low: Guess I deserved it for trying to do the quest as soon as it was released.
  15. When I did barrows runs over the weekend I was consistently getting 100k+ per trip from the runes alone, with the occasional bust of 40k chest value. If the rune drops were also doubled over the weekend, you should be getting half that, so I would guess around 400k per hour without barrows items. Edit: Accidentally wrote per trip instead of per hour, my apologies.
  16. MEP2 will drive you crazy if you don't use a guide, but otherwise they're not bad no. Unless you like puzzles, in which case it is strongly recommended to take the hours required to solve the temple puzzle without a guide. I really regret using a guide, even though it saved me many hours of running and being attacked by annoying monsters. Nothing kills the feeling of immersion more than using a step-by-step guide when you are perfectly capable of doing the quest by yourself. Of course, this is only if you like puzzles and want to give it a try, and if you try and get stuck for more than 15 minutes, there's nothing wrong with looking up the solution to that step. Imo, the end does not justify the means, especially since if you are already going to do Legacy of Seergaze, you will be able to do Branches of Darkmeyer soon after, and killing vyrelords with a maxed blisterwood polearm will give you more death runes per hour in drops than you will get crafting them through the abyss.
  17. You need to rebuy every time. It would be nice to buy the right to recolor, and maybe Jagex will change it like they did the item recolors at barbarian assault. At least, I hope they do.
  18. From what I understand, the QBD is under an enchantment keeping it asleep, and recently the effects spread to rimmington. During the quest you probably go into a cave and do something to the strange devices seen in the artwork of the video, and then everyone wakes up. After the quest, the enchantment weakens to the point where the QBD can resist its effects and wakes up, and you need to weaken it enough that it goes back to sleep. Also, it would be hard for the quest to "not have any skill requirements" as jagex said, if it involves fighting a boss that requires 120+ cb and 60+ summoning. So, no, you do not have to fight the QBD as part of the quest.
  19. I've been saving up earned spins in case there is another event putting rare cosmetics on common wheel-slots, and I got this: I did not know there was a limit to earned spins you can have. Edit: Seems like the limit is 10, but if you use double spin tickets you can pass it. Sitting at 12 spins now.
  20. Tif name: Squakus Runescape name: Squakus Picture: Url:http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/534/greattifpic2.png/ I tried removing the backround with GIMP both with a normal picture and an anti-aliased version, and both times it cut out the robe bottom. Could someone who knows how to cut the background properly help me?
  21. But to get zeal, you have to be fighting, which gains combat xp I'm sure you can try wind striking someone every 20 seconds to keep your activity bar from draining. That's ~60 casts per game, at extremely low xp/cast. Unless you are 97+ magic, this shouldn't get you to 99 magic. (Even at 98 magic I don't think you will be getting 1m xp in wind strikes over the course of 99 slay from zeals.
  22. Alright then, the reason why I don't train summoning is because I think it's a ripoff of Pokémon. ...Isn't Runescape a ripoff of most if not all other role-playing games? Afaik, the closest resemblance to pokemon is in dungeoneering, and you don't seem to have a problem training that for the benefits. (Certain styles are "super-effective", stormbringer's magic attacks look a bit like Pikachu's thundershock, the title you get for summoning all 6 familiar types in 1 floor, I'm sure there are others.)
  23. I think if you played a lot of soul wars it would be possible by getting slay xp with zeal.
  24. The first article seemed more like a rant than anything else. No other comment. The Gameplay Immersion article reminded me of the fun of being a noob, and discovering things for the first time. When QBD gets released, I'm going to try it without a guide to emulate the feeling of newness. The New Lands: I like the idea of having limited access and no world map, with new content becoming available as quests/tasks are completed. Fictional: Not my preferred style of Rs fictional, but still interesting.
