  1. But they aren't even that old, and it comes and goes; its not like the constant 100% of the time never stops just gets progressively worse crackling that old speakers where the volume or w/e has buggered them up. Only had em ~2 years and ~7 months of that my desktop was at home while I was at uni and was never plugged in, let alone turned on.
  2. Moral of the story: The weight on the equipment screen is an invaluable tool and if you actually use it you would clearly see unequipping items does not alter you're weight, excluding the weight reducing items that only work when worn.
  3. Yes that means it got deleted for moderation reasons or got eaten by the page 50 monster (aka it dropped off the end of page 50 meaning it got deleted for being inactive)
  4. Thats true but I'd question its worth at being mentioned. Afterall the task guide gives a concise instruction of how best to complete a task and it is far more efficient and likely to get a red topaz simply mining gem rocks than it is to happen upon a gem rock in tai bwo wanni mini-game, let alone getting a topaz from it. Anyway since its similar correction area I jsut noticed: Ardougne E19 in the table of descriptions. In the upper box that gives the task name and the instruction attached to it it only says: Buy a skewered kebab from the Poison Arrow pub While the grey box that details HOW exactly to do it says: "Don't Eat the Pointy Bit" -Purchase a skewered kebab for 25 coins in the pub just southeast of Ardougne Square. Top box should be: "Don't Eat the Pointy Bit" - Buy a skewered kebab from the Poison Arrow pub Lower box: Purchase a skewered kebab for 25 coins in the pub just southeast of Ardougne Square.
  5. I never said I don;t find them fun. I merely said I find this idea pointless as there is no need for it in order to do a DIY account.
  6. I'd work on your stats most efficient boss hunters are maxed or atleast 90+ in all combat stats. In particular I'd get summoning up and strength
  7. What if a DIY player is hacked, and everything taken? This simply makes the account unable to be hacked as youare unable to take things off them. So? 1) Everyone has equal chance of being hacked 2) If they ARE hacked the hacker would jsut drop everything, just cause they can't trade it won't mean they won't ruin your account for you 3) Anyone who actually gets hacked is useless. Between a good AV/firewall and having common sense about websites you visit and your password short of some uber hacker geek taking out a vendetta agaisnt you you're not gonna get hacked.
  8. Seems utterly pointless. If you want to have a DIY account you do not need jagex's help.
  9. Since the millennium bug scare (which is by far the most realistic a probable world ending catastrophe we've had) and the internet its not a good year if we don't have the world ending at least 3 times. People are not (mostly) intellectually equipped to deal with such broad news. It's like way back when the print was invented and u suddenly had the beginnings of mass media; everyone thought crime etc was worse simply because they heard more about it. Same applies today with the internet, now with global news bombarding us from every angle its so easy for people to go omg earthquakes or tornados or volcanoes are getting more common. This is totally false though, the change is we hear more about it due to better mass media and doomsday types hyping every incident into a bigger deal.
  10. It's not my phone, my phone is in same palce it always is and its not that sort of loud interference burst its just white noise. It can't be the power strip/plug as it's been plugged into various locations from moving it about in my house and at uni home. That's the key point it CANNOT be interference as it is constant white noise when the speakers are on for a period of days and then does not occur for months. Nothing is in a new position or anything.
  11. There's nothing to interfere with it and as I covered it comes and goes periodically with no system alterations.
  12. Well my system doesn't take 15 seconds to load map areas and java isn't even enabled to eat more RAM than the default 2mb or w/e they give it. Also it would potentially cause lag because the regions are not created on the fly, they are manually dictated by jagex to ensure nothing gets spliced (eg trees) and area effects, which would cause glitches. This is why load lines are always in the same areas roughly, especially when you account for region overlap (eg west half of section B, is the east 1/2 of section A) If you wnat variable regions jagex has got to define allllll these regions thus making the game much bigger to host and clogging up more server ram in order to serve you the right map.
  13. I've had this occur with several different speakers on several different computers and wondered if any techy folk knew how/why it happens and how to avoid it. Basically periodically my speakers, specifically the one with the controls on (so right atm, but has been left on older sets) just starts to have a white noise type crackling sound issuing from it non stop unless the computer is actually playing a sound. Nothing on the system is changed and no sound is actually playing it'll do this for a few days/week or so then stop again for months.
  14. First 1: No just no. First a foremost is not technically that possible, in order to alter region sizes the game server would have to generate all region sizes for all the map thus greatly increasing the size and lag. Plus you don't see that loading screen on a good system, at worst you get a slight fractional of a second flicker of the screen and jitter in the animations, it doesn't even cut to that screen unless ur loading too slowly. Besides in the engine QA they said it's on their todo list to convert to transitional loading where by stuff appears low res in distance and gains detail as it approaches which would remove the need for regions. Second one: Seems annoying in my book, especially for those on fixed mode or playing mini-games as it'd get in the way. Besides if you think you missed a game message cause u saw coloured txt and missed it u can jsut hit "game" at the bottom to swap chatbox to game messages only.
  15. iirc the gang member tht goes thru the backyard and shoots thru tht window can redo it to help friends. The one who actually goes inside cannot.
  16. Seems like a lot of pointless work imo, between the multitude of maps on site and the in-game world map that will show you exactly where you are and flash any icon of ur choosing. Plus the fact people generally accumulate knowledge of these things over time and that pictures take bandwidth. Using the sites existing guides and the in-game map and a little bit of memory you can easily track down where places are.
  17. Keep the cosmic gloves. The quest line isn't over and you need the cosmic gloves to use the chaos machine. So better safe than pissed off lol
  18. Few rules of dialogue 1) You not need to use he said, she said, bob said too much. With more than two people it can be needed sparingly, but each character should have unique enough pattern of speech to be distinguishable by the reader without any ques. 2) Give character's unique voices; do not use all perfect grammar or all real words. Just like real people they need their quirks, abnormalities and traits in speech. 3) If you dialogue is short, concise and too the point it is usually rubbish. Go tape record real conversations they meander and wander; convincing dialogue should do the same. To cover my ass rules wise VIEW LINKS AT OWN DISCRETION. The stories to contain illusions to/direct reference to sexual content/themes. In terms of links my old blog: http://vanityaccursed.blogspot.com/ Has two stories I wrote last year for university that contain a fair amount of dialogue (Unknown Desires and Forever You) The desires one is more reported/recounted dialogue so uses more I said he said. Forever you is totally ambiguous but you should be able to clear see which person is speaking. Also this from my new blog: http://syaccursed.tumblr.com/post/5288159687/tear-stains-and-lip-gloss Is a good example of using irregular words etc in dialogue I know I posted all my own stuff, don;t mean to be big headed just only examples I can link too off-hand; none of it has 3 way dialogue. But good two way dialogue is very similar too 2+ dialogue
  19. That pope name thing is such fail anyway. It's quiote obviously the Vatican wants to promote thier faith as being correct and subsequently pick popes that match the list to force it to fulfil. If you go back and check many Popes out their "pope name" isn't their birth name.
  20. Theres a number of mini-quests without thier own page. That wizards body is another one. The extra 15 chimp-ices etc
  21. As covered runescape usage shouldnt add up to more than a 2 or 3 mb a month
  22. The queen uses mage and melee. Your two options are: Melee armour + mage protect Ranged armour + melee protect. you said you "can't use d-hide" so that leaves melee armour and mage protect.
  23. melee armour +mage protect
  24. To me I'd say it doesn't paint you too well. The subtext of "constantly trying new things and stepping outside my comfort zone" can be read as "I don;t stick at anything that long as I have a short attention span and/or limited commitment and just move on to something new"
  25. Easiest way I found to get into is to use the url of a working world. There's a few of them but the one I used was: http://world97.runescape.com
