Phats are a rare commodity, and as economy demonstrates, items that are in less of a demand increase in price (supply & demand). When more of the vet players leave, who have the majority of the phats quit, their phats are pretty much taken out of circulation occasionally, thus making the supply decrease and price increase. To answer your question about purple party hat price, the reason its low is because in the phat dupe, purples were currently the most valuable (blues the cheapest) so people duped more purples for more wealth obviously, and less people did blue...so less blue and more purple and we saw a switch.

I think you're over-estimatings this... I think about graphics, jagex has updated the KBD, a high level beast, and the chaos ele. doesn't need updating...so the KQ has gone on for a bit without an update...so its due for one..that's all. Jagex just loves to boast and drag on about how deadly looking it's gonna be pretty much. The shortcuts: Probably to give noobs doing slayer an easier access to the the KALPHITE LAIR AS A WHOLE, people who don't wanna worry about the desert and such. And the third method of getting it. BA. How many do you know have gotten one? i think the total is 2 to 0. All and all, i think you're over-analyzing what they're doing.

I think that ranged needs an update, but its not like this one will make magic overpowered...lunar spells don't ever do damage, they do other stuff that mainly aid in skills. and this: well, to start the quest i think you need 60 something magic anyway, and a lot of skilling is alching...so a few have high magic i assume.

lets see. A diamond costs what? 3k? You'd have to mine annd smelt your own gold, craft dozens of them for it to be useful, and remember to put it on every 5 trips. It cuts back considerably from the profit, so i think every once in a while, when things look bad out there, its good...otherwise, it won't do too much.
