  1. Not as annoying as these spam threads this guy named Sirgudi keeps making. They're either redundant to a thread he's already made, or take information from three years ago and turn it into a suddenly new thread.
  2. It would be easier to just leave things as they are. Removing Castle Wars, BH, etc. as well as all the quest buildings would take a lot of unnecessary effort. And what will they put there... I think an easier method would just be to disable them. Make people unable to enter castlewars, BH, clanwars, etc. Make it so people cant start any quest or continue it. Im sure they have a centralized system for questing so it can be that hard. With minigames? Its only a few and its just a few lines of coding to disable a minigame. Yup. They'll use the same coding that stops f2p'ers from doing members stuff like starting the lost city, pickpocketing Sigmund, going into the duel arena (pre-November of last year), etc, unless they're on a regular server. "You must be on a non-pvp world to do this action"
  3. What IS the Stone of Jas? If I remember right it was talked about in depth in the Meeting History quest. Its the stone from which all runecrafting altars came from. So we could 'make' a soul altar if we got control of that stone? Looks fun. Soul altar in Varrok bank ftw. Anyway...Requiem, there already was a sequel to the Cook's Assistant quest, you're about two years too late on that joke.
  4. It would be easier to just leave things as they are. Removing Castle Wars, BH, etc. as well as all the quest buildings would take a lot of unnecessary effort. No it wouldn't. If you look at it objectively, all they would have to do is remove the NPC's and portals that allow entrance into these areas. It'd be easy to put in too without conflicting with the area, just using the reasoning that the places are shut down on that world as to not get involved with the conflict. I have the feeling Jagex will put a lot of lore into this update, to explain why certain areas and mini-games cannot be accessed and why certain spots are safe over others, and how this conflict came to be (My guess is that Zamorak will have something to do with it, from a lore point of view he couldn't be too happy about the wilderness) Just do what they did with the duel arena. For a long time the duel arena was in f2p, but not accessible. The front door was locked shut and the NPCs were gone. That could easily translate over to the pvp worlds, and could be done in very little time.
  5. I obviously can't speak on behalf of Jagex and none of us here know the ins and outs of the grand exchange, so I'm just going to attribute your order not going through the first time to the fact that the GE is still in beta and must have quite a few kinks to get out of the system.
  6. Who said current worlds will be turned into pvp worlds? You're making assumptions based off of evidence you made up.
  7. The point is to bring back the runescape classic pking everyone loved, without the chance of real world traders. That's your opinion. If you don't want range and mage to be overpowered against you, don't go to a place with obstacles when the worlds are released, it's common sense. That's called a strategic benefit to mages and rangers who need to keep their enemies further away because of a lack of decent armor. And they aren't making it harder to prevent RWT, considering you don't gain your enemy's drops. They're not "luring in" old pkers, they're trying to satisfy their customers, and aside from the no-looting (which a majority understand), I haven't heard much against this update. "Because I think it could turn out terribly" That's called doomsayer speculation, it holds no water. It depends on how the wilderness is structured, but I'll be pkers head towards edgeville anyway, it's their home turf after all.
  8. Communism started in the 20th century. In regards to human history, the rise and fall took place in the blink of an eye because it was so flawed. We go by the high alch values because it's how Jagex sees the worth of the item. Before the grand exchange changing from the high alch system would be impossible because there was no standard for prices. It is slightly more possible today, but still unplausable. Many items don't sell at the medium value, and you would still have players complaining that the prices are wrong. Take godswords and other items that are heavily junk traded for a higher or lower price. No matter what, you'll still have players complaining that the drop on death prices are wrong, and it's so much easier just to keep a static database based on the high alch price than to have to recode player's accounts to dynamically change with the Grand Exchange, that changes about every 4 hours. Items can have two different prices, in fact items on Runescape have more than two. There's the grand exchange, junk trading, and how much the general store will buy and sell for, and high alch (General stores buy for the low alch value). That's five different prices right there. Practically every MMO has a difference in what the players pay for an item and how the developers see its worth (Usually vendor prices, as most other MMO's don't have a drop on death policy). Also, you say it's contradictory and flawed, yet you don't explain why. I understand what you mean about the ring of life, I personally have a rune longsword a friend gave me a long time ago that I've kept, as well as my only chisel in the bank being one I got from another friend the day I started playing Runescape, but as I've already said it is a non-issue. I obviously cannot speak for Jagex, but I cannot see them implementing this just because of the support against it from players who believe it is a detriment to the challenge this game presents. But hey, maybe I'm wrong and now that the grand exchange has set a universal price on items, this has gone onto the list of updates. But judging on how long an update as easy (sounding) as taking away randoms is taking them, I wouldn't expect this any time soon.
  9. Omali replied to cobweb86's topic in Rants
This is just a shot in the dark, but if you spam on runescape as much as you spam pointless threads on these forums, maybe that's the reason for your mute. And someone just talking quick chat on a regular world is a pretty good sign they're muted.
  10. It's not pixel hugging, it's called preserving your own welfare. How exactly does wanting to preserve one's items make them a hypocrite for going against player made rules they don't agree with? And the point of the story is that he refuses to follow the rules, considering he will get flamed whether he follows them or not. I always like reading your posts, Rarex, because you continue to remind us why you were banned for being an immature troll with nothing to say, contradicting yourself and doing circles while making no point whatsoever in your posts. Lulz, if u r not follow da rulz, u ar nerd. Yea, great job stuffing the point of not player made rules being silly and going against many fabrics of the game's freedoms of choice, just lump on the personal attacks, it makes you righter, as I've pointed out in the past. And great job pulling out the H word showing you have no idea how to use it effectively in a sentence. And yes, whether or not pkers are busy flaming or following their stupid rules, they will be seen as control freaks and nerds (Not the good kind.) by the rest of the game, because that's what they are. How is that hipocracy? Feel free to reply to my post and make me "look dumb". And by that I mean say something intelligable, not pm me "lolz noob".
  11. There are ways to manipulate the "randomness" of runescape. Going somewhat off topic, I've found that taking out the fixed device and going into the first person aiming mode, and circling myself numerous times, clicking quite a bit, I will end up with a random event coming out of that first person view a majority of times.
  12. 25k is the buying limit for runes. I'll tell you what it means: It means that if you put in two offers for the same item at the same price, the newer one is more likely to get filled in first. It's not manipulation. The smoke rune has gone from 116 to 142 over the past month, gradually, and runes are traded in the hundreds of thousands on a daily basis. If it is manipulation, would you mind explaining what Jagex is manipulating? Price? Supply? What.
  13. ITT: Whiny newbie complains about pre-him holiday items. Runescape is a lot more accomodating than other MMORPGS when it comes to holiday items. In Tabula Rasa, another MMO I play, preorders gained exclusive emotes, two exclusive pets, and exclusive halloween masks. People with the collectors edition get an exclusive pet and a few emotes. On top of that, the game has a veteran system that rewards new pets/clothes/emotes to players the more months their account has been active. Then there was an event on the public test server that rewarded players black paint on their regular server accounts, the rarest armor paint in the game because it can't be reproduced. If you didn't meet any of these deadlines, oh well for you. Nobody complains about it on Tabula Rasa though.
  14. One of my friends did this on one of my forums, it's an obvious troll, someone who just came upon tip.it and said to themselves "lol i right runscape storie". He's just trying to bait you all, and it's working. Also this reminds me: watch "Half Life: Full Life Consequences" on Youtube. It takes an 8 year old's fanfictions and makes them into an actual movie, poor spelling and grammar and everything.
  15. lol at the "Pretty accurate". Funny considering you don't know what accurate would be in this case. All of that was figured from stuff on the article you posted, stuff you'd know if you actually read the article.
  16. Answer me this: If they're going to merge the compliments and rants forum, why is it that the rants forum is the only forum with that notice that they're putting the change in? There's no coming soon in the compliments forum, and there is not a single mention about merging ANY forums. The game feedback forum will be used "to give your feedback, positive or negative, on game content only. ", and is being put in place just to make it more understandable what is allowed in that particular forum, while the compliments forum is for compliments on Jagex as a whole. Tl;DR, there's no indication that they'll be removing the compliments forum as there's no notice on the compliments forum.
  17. Bones:I bury bones, if I'm in the mood, and usually always if it is free bones. I'm not going for 99, just leveling as I go. Coins: Depends on the value of other drops. Chances are once it hits the several thousand gold, I won't be picking up anything else more valuable in one slot, so I'll keep the coins. Herbs: Same as bones. The only time I've ever bought my levels was to gain herblore levels for a quest. Aside from that, it's not a priority to me. Also: I keep clean guam for use in summoning.
  18. Nice logic? And having nearly 12 thousand more posts in rants as to compliments is making them look good? Oh I'm sorry, that was 12 million. :| they don't care about looking good at this point. The only people that post on the forums are paying members(which already means they have to be doing something right). They just don't want to look bad. Having over 129 thousand compliment threads showing against 12 million rants goes a lot further than having 12 million rants showing against NO compliments. And who are you to say what Jagex's motives are? You're saying "they don't care about looking good at this point" as if you're some kind of insider, well if they didn't care about how they look, it kinda contradicts the "Well its obviously to make them look good." that I quoted, and they wouldn't be merging the forums in the first place and would just leave rants to the festering hole of idiocy that it is if they didn't care. They're not doing it to merge the rants and compliments in an effort to do what, make them feel better about themselves? They're changing the name, not the content of 99% of the threads that will continue inside of it, because people don't know how to properly use the forum. As I've already pointed out, that's why they removed the "place to vent your frustrations" and replaced it with "Let us know about in-game features you dislike, but behave! "
  19. There's a front page on Runescape.com, figure out how to use it.
  20. I wouldn't 100% bet that they're merging rants and compliments, especially the people saying they're doing it to make themselves look better (Yea, making compliments even harder to find will surely make them look better, nice logic). Changing the name clarifies what the rants forum is for. They even went as far as to remove the "vent your frustration" from the subtitle to show people that it's not just for coming in and complaining about whatever is on your mind at the moment. Website, store, and forum feedbacks are good additions to the forum, and are actually making me start visiting the RSOF more, as there are more areas where the more mature and intelligent crowd go (as opposed to rants, suggestions, future and recent updates) aside from maybe the rsc forums.
  21. thx for the sig I have the original, credit to Gid: It's like what George Carlin said with driving. Did you notice anyone going slower than you is an [wagon]? And anyone going faster than you is a maniac? It's all part of the great double standard that a majority of humans share. Put down all that is different or mysterious, except in real life it usually ends up with some minority being killed or oppressed.
  22. when are people going to realize that the game is not split between wilderness pking and mindless skilling? There are a ton of mini-games and other activities you can partake in. Don't like any of the mini-games Jagex has laid out? Then use that thing called an imagination and think up your own activities to play, TeT does it practically every other week.
  23. Gotta love these threads. -Oh well? About 273 thousand had a high enough runecrafting at the time of the guild's release. That's a small percentage of overall users. -How does this make runecrafting unprofitable? Please, do bring some real backup when you make blanket statements like this -I'm not going to say anything about this, Kills _____ is just a copout for not having anything to back yourself up with. -Ruins the good rc name....uh...huh. See above. -Really? Because both have been going down for over a month now. The runecrafting guild has little to do with it, you're just grasping for straws.
  24. Look at one of the other threads on this subject.
  25. For a 40 to attack a 138, they would first need to find level 98 wilderness, which I doubt will exist. If it's anything like the regular wilderness as Jagex says, it will most likely go up to 55-60 at most. That being said, I would immediately flag a 40 killing a 138 with good armor. That will never happen, ever, under normal circumstances and should be an instant indicator that something is up, and I would probably ban both accounts without question. A level 40 would be dead before he got his first 1 damage against a 138.
