  1. Yeah, instead of losing your most valuable item you would now lose what you are supposed to lose. What the hell do you mean? Anyway, instead of selecting kept items just make it based upon something else, like real values according to the players themselves - why not the G.E values? (not for holiday items, since they weren't supposed to be signs of wealth in the first place, but the whip situation is a prime example) Some items are more expensive for the sole reason that they are dropped upon death over other items in the set, as shown by barrows helmets and somewhat in whips. Putting this in wouldn't make people drop "what they're supposed to", it would only make the situation that much more confusing having to check not only every day, but every time you log in to make sure your set hasn't suddenly changed and your whip no longer protects over something else because the lack of risk in such items are causing them to crash, meaning you'll lose them anyway. And why should rares be treated special? They're regular items like anything else in Jagex's eyes, they just happen to be more sought after. That's why their high alch is about 3gp.
  2. I asked that on the first page and got a response that the suggestions forum isn't going anywhere.
  3. Did we see in the Merlin's crystal quest about something like Arthur coming from another place, maybe he broke the seal  King Arthur and the rest of the knights of Camelot and Merlin are the only characters believed to have come from the "real world" (IE: The alternate reality that the players live in) after retiring from ruling his kingdom (of England) and settling down in runescape.
  4. Or because you didn't read the article. Thanks for playing.
  5. Prices are changed by players, that's why the prices are going down. If everyone who was selling would stop selling for below minimum, the prices would be either the same or rising. Only items that started out at the wrong price need to be changed by Jagex to fit what the market will pay.
  6. As Zierro already said, none of us had anything against you personally, but a majority of your ideas boiled down to "I suffered, skillers must suffer to for the sake of it!" A. Fighting flames with flames. B. Em no, we told you that if you were so sick of Runescape in its current state, the keyword being "current", that you should quit. We all knew that more pvp updates were coming out in the future, we also knew that senseless ranting about how Jagex hates us and wants to drive the game into the ground (Not pointing the finger specifically at you) and the community now sucks, would not make those updates come any faster. C. There wasn't. Jagex was going to bring in the pking updates whether you spammed tip.it with "jagex sux LOL" posts or not. D. Shut up. E. Yes, they were half wrong. This still isn't like the wilderness, a confined area where players can kill one another for loot. This is more like Runescape Classic, minus the loot. Whether you still play currently or are waiting for the updates, welcome back to Runescape, hopefully the wait will have been worth it for you. I believe the end of 2008 will mark the end of a very dark year (or so) in Runescape's history. Those who stuck with it have and will continue to be rewarded, and those who will not be coming back? Well that's their problem. I feel bad for everyone who's now seeing this, that purposefully got their accounts banned during riots and other such activities after the updates originally rolled out. In a hilarious kind of way.
  7. that's not true at all...if you talk to the lumbridge tutors or look on the RS KB you will find that Jagex explicitly says that on death your 3 most "valuable" items are kept. According to this statement the whip should be kept as it fetches a higher value on the G.E. and is thus considered a more "valuable" item than the dh stuff and drag sq...the fact that he lost his whip means that Jagex's system of "valuing" items is fatally flawed and they should do something about it such as letting us choose which items to keep. after all it should be OUR RIGHT to choose which 3 items we want to keep since jagex says that the 3 most "valuable" items and kept and since different people will value their items differently...depending on sentimental value, usefulness to them etc. besides if you are carrying lots of items you will still lose the other valuable items making the game a risk...he is not suggesting that one loses nothing on death...only suggesting that jagex improves their "valuation" system. Wrong. Your 3 most valuable items are kept, according to their high alchemy value, a system that's been in place long before the grand exchange and a standard market value for items ever existed. Letting you choose which items to keep would make people stupidly careless while running around with items liek rares and, as you can tell, whips and items of the sort. The system isn't flawed, this is just the anger of players saying "oh well it inconveniences me in some way, IT HAS TO GO!" It's not unfair that the original poster lost his whip even though it was higher on the grand exchange, it's called challenge. Don't die, and you won't even have to worry about what you keep upon death. When you said it should be "our right to choose which items kept on death" I had to laugh. What gives you this sense of entitlement that everything you want, you suddenly have the "right to"? You don't have the "right" to choose what items you keep on death, you have the right to play the game with as minimal bugs as possible in the way Jagex wants it to be designed with as much player input as they would like. You have the right to pay for membership, should you decide to, and not break the rules if you don't expect to be punished. Those are the only things you have a right to in this game. Why should Jagex bother putting in a system that a tiny amount of players care enough about to speak up about it, that will only end up bringing in more complaining when, say, someone is disconnected and doesn't even get to keep an item because the screen disappeared upon logout? Or when the items update and suddenly your whip isn't as expensive as something else in your inventory, and you lose it anyway.
  8. High alch values are very reliable, they even added a feature into the game a year or so ago where you can see what items you'll keep on death. And the cool thing about high alch values is that they never change, unlike market values. And no choosing your items kept on death. This is runescape not let's-take-the-challenge-out-of-death...um, scape.
  9. No, it hasn't been nerfed. I'll tell you what needs to be nerfed, Sirgudi's pension for speculation threads that took about 3 seconds to think up the question and no time to figure out an obvious answer before he made a thread out of it.
  10. Jagex will NEVER release a PK only server. It's a waste of resources. My idea is a server that allows PK anywhere can still be used by non-pkers to play the game normally. That way, if pk anywhere is a bust, you still have a useful server. I agree with Nuke, won't ever happen. It already is happening :P Please tell me, whats the sense in bashing a user for a post that was made months ago? This. When that post was made, wilderness pking still existed in its past form. At that time, the idea of a pk anywhere server would be pointless and unnecessary. Today, it's a godsend.
  11. The elder gods created the realm, Guthix just found it and brought life to it. And yes, I know he's a mahjarrat. I meant more of a tangible form. Apparently the people trying to resurrect him aren't aware that they cannot get involved directly, either that or they know something we don't.
  12. My goals: Keep my quest cape (Fulfill any quest requirements there may be) Get all skills over 60, with important quest skills (Combat, etc) at least 70, preferrably 80 Stock up on cold beverages (This quest sounds like a long one)
  13. I agree, from what I've seen there is hundrerds if not thousands of superpots hanging around in many people's inventory. It will probably take some time before there's a price hike. Maybe we'll see new pots on pvp worlds. yes, but remember how many players who expected to quit forever ended up purposely getting their accounts banned. Boy will they be red in the face when they see their interest coming back with these updates.
  14. I'm planning on creating a level 3 to just walk around and survey the new world when it comes out. I'll probably use the character I made to check out the new tutorial.
  15. He did die, he was killed fighting Zaros, who was banished to another realm. Zamorak only became a god after the matter. They may be trying to resurrect him in his human form (Remember, the gods once walked Gielnor with its people, as shown in Meeting History)
  16. Omali replied to audee's topic in Rants
More like, they care about lagging but can't do anything because of a legally binding contract requiring them to show the ad until said contract runs out.
  17. I think it would be a really good money investment for Jagex if they made it P2P only, but I bet it will be for F2P, they're getting everything at the moment  Yea, f2p's getting, um, everything #-o God forbid f2p once had the wilderness and now may appreciate another version of said wilderness. You guys have twice the world, twice the skills, several times the minigames, several times the quests, achievement capes, and more with only paying $6 and you STILL complain about free players getting an update to a feature that F2P already had in the first place. I smell fail. #-o Plus, as I stated above members even like to F2P pk. They make pures and such, or just use their normal accounts because some people don't like being hit by multiple shots of barrage. You misunderstood me. That facepalm was for 3_hit_u complaining that f2p'ers are getting everything, my argument is you'd think it would be common sense that f2p is getting most of the things they're getting in the first place, such as a replacement to the wilderness they were promised so long ago, that would be f2p.
  18. Guthixian Edicts state that the balance cannot shift too far in any direction, otherwise he will come in and destroy the world and remake it. In Mourning's End, aren't they trying to resurrect Zamorak?
  19. I think it would be a really good money investment for Jagex if they made it P2P only, but I bet it will be for F2P, they're getting everything at the moment  Yea, f2p's getting, um, everything #-o God forbid f2p once had the wilderness and now may appreciate another version of said wilderness.
  20. I don't think I've ever read a thread about no pking coming back, considering that Jagex immediately and explicitly stated that they will be developing more pking minigames and we already have several of them... So no, nobody failed. The only change here is that there will be freedom to choose and your reward will be based on the difficulty (like the old way, which is awesome and adds some real reason to participate). It allows pures and character build and strategy to come back. So that's cool... but let's just hope the rewards are adequate... which Jagex isn't so good at. This. I never heard anyone say "Jagex will never make pking back", and this isn't taking it back to the pre-december 10th updates. This is more like taking it back to the pre-2002 days.
  21. I think the easiest thing to do is just to make the polls out where the numbers aren't viewable. This means that there wouldn't be any "OMG NOOBS COME ON REINDEER NOW!!!!" threads, and you'd keep the surprise. Or you can do what I do, and bin that certain memory. Actually, now that I think of it, I can't remember anything about the poll, although that may be because my radio and several other items on my top shelf and clubbed me in the head yesterday. Edit: I should point out that this should only pertain to guaranteed content polls detailing holiday events.
  22. I'll be the first to say F- :-# whatever the quest requirements are going to be. Quests aren't hard because of the mindless skilling you have to do to get the higher requirements, they're hard because of the puzzles and great because of the stories presented and the new stuff you can get afterwards. Making a quest, even an uber quest, with suggestions players have made, such as X skills at 90, wouldn't make the quest hard, it would just make it stupidly unreachable for 90+% of Runescape's players. Quests should continue to strive for the diversity in skills used to get to that ever changing quest cape. The Experience required for the quests combined is not that far away from the 13 mil required for a 99 in a skill.
  23. I ask people to do the cooking cape emote when we're sitting on the top of the trawler. Not because I particularly like the emote, but (at least it used to) make the person doing the emote go invisible for a few seconds :ohnoes:
  24. They're very useful. I'm actually using them right now at pyrefiends for slayer (Yes, I know, 71 slayer and 106 combat. I'm canifis..ing for 9 slayer tasks then getting the bonus points). Pyrefiends hit about 3 or 4 on me every once in a while, much better than having to use up my decreasing supply of monkfish.
