If you are low on cash, try to avoid buying too much from other players. Make sure to use miscellania, max investment in herbs and the rest in maple. This is the cheapest way to "buy" herbs. Sell the maple logs, sell the birds nests, use the tree seeds you can and sell the rest. Use money to reinvest in miscellania. Do level your farming, the tree seeds from miscellania is ideal for that. One very good way to get herbs for a reasonable price is to buy (or steal) herb seeds and grow them into herbs. When it comes to second ingredients, your house is very important. To collect snape grass, move your house to relekka and collect snape on lunar island. To collect Mort Myre fungi, a Kharyll portral and an altar in house helps a *lot*. Remember that vials are sold in general shop in Ardounge and Shilo for exampel.
  2. equip first then yawn. when Uri appears, shrug then talk to him.
  3. I think there may be something wrong with the calculator calling you a warrior. I played with tip's combat calculator, first put in your real stats, then changed both range and magic to 1, after that changing range and magic to 99. In all cases the calculator meant you are melee based, and that does not make sense. So nothing wrong with your stats - and I *think* you get your level from your magic, hp and defence.
  4. A basket with tomatoes, strawberries, bananas or oranges work very well, is cheap and only take up 1 inventory space. i have tried them all. Baskets are easiest to stock up on in Caterby, tomatoes can be bought in Lumby basement RFD foodchest, bananas picked free on karamja. Personally I use a basket of strawberries since I have over 500 baskets of that in bank from farming.
  5. Monsters drop herb seeds from one of the 2 groups *low level herb seed = guam - ranarr *high level herb seed =toadflax - torstol. Unfortunatly the beasitary does not distinguis between those. Dagannoth, Aberrant specters, Nechreyels drop seeds from the high group, that I am sure of since I kill them often. I believe ogres, trolls, moss giants, hobgoblins and several others drop from the lower group. But since ranarr is the highest in that group, it is not often dropped. Personally I prefer getting ranarr seed by stealing from master farmer, he can give all kinds of seeds.
  6. Huge increase in the catch you get since the update. I am level 85 fishing, and am getting at least 15 mantas per trip, a few turtles, and eventually some sharks, swordfish and lobsters. There is now a bank deposit box, so you can easily save you catch without running to bank between trips. You get 3 crafting exp per rope you use to fix the nets.

  8. I agree with both the above statements. Both cellphones and chatprograms on the internet encouage the use of short words and sentences, for different reasons. Gawd even newpapers hold a lot of bad grammar nowadays... at least here in Sweden. I definitly disagree with saying Jagex encouragin bad grammar. I would say they do the opposite based on for example how J-mods speak in game and on forums. That the censor catch things it isn't supposed to catch is a shame. I am personally not a big fan of censoring things, but I do see the necessity of having a censor, and the censor is indeed updated often. I believe Jagex do the best they can to get the censor not catching things it shouldn't. One thing to keep in mind is the purpose of the censor. Sure, it is there to stop people saying bad words. Even more important is that it is there to remind people that they should not talk about those things. Take the words phone or adress for example. You can get around them easily by saying fone or addy. But it is censored to tell/remind kids that they should not give out phone numbers to people they only know from in game. Same thing with adress, it serves as a reminder to not give out real life adress, or mail adress or any kind of adress to strangers. Ah well, that was a little off topic, sorry.
  9. Route 2 and 3 look right but I've personally had 4 events on route 1.4 events that you solved, or did you evade when you could? When I was trekking (at least after I started to log it), I killed all NPC's I met, and the numbers above is based on that - but it *is* known that evading increase your chance for new events. This is what it looked like when I analysed my first data. I am not sure of it now' date=' it seems that eventually taking the middlestrong person and get 2 combat event give max reward. Here more data is DEFINITLY needed, and all input is appriciated.[/quote'] I've had the 666 Essence reward for a strong char on route 3 with 2 combat events and 1 non-combat. Yes, that may be the case, we definitly need more data here. Just keep in mind that the "birth of ghast" tend to count as a combat event when it comes to rewards.... and the lumberjacks tend to count as non-combat...
  10. I have mainly been doing route 3, and there I have enough data to be fairly sure of the number of events. Can anyone confirm the number of events you have to deal with when taking route 1 and 2? The above numbers is from always doing the events (killing all enemies). How does the number vary when you evade events? Additional info is needed here :) This is what it looked like when I analysed my first data. I am not sure of it now, it seems that eventually taking the middlestrong person and get 2 combat event give max reward. Here more data is DEFINITLY needed, and all input is appriciated.
  11. Honesty is the best. From what you say in your post, it's clear that you are aware of that. That is good :) First thing: you say "your brother persuaded your parents" - how much do your parents know about online games. How much do they know regarding spending time online whatsoever (chatting with friends... chatting with strangers... online communities... surfing educational sites.... surfing other parts of the internet... you name it...). I dont mean for you to explain *here* how much your parents know, I mean you should ask yourself the question, and think about it. Perhaps a good start would be to direct them to Runescapes parents guide? Start with taking a look at it yourself next time you are online. Second thing to ask yourself is if your parents view on online games is different from not-online-games (sorry, cant find the right word atm, single player games on computer I mean). If that view differ, the question is why.
  12. Some more things: You can get the same event more than once on a trek. It is not common, but it has happened a few times to me (previously with snakes, juvinates and snails). *IF* you get lumberjack event twice on a trek, you can get one lumberjack item from each event (I just did route 3 with wizard apprentice, got lumberjacks with legs first event, then had nail beasts, and finally lumberjacks with hat) The nail beasts who normally drop big bones + nail beast nails can also drop the new long bone that was added in the update 20 march. Edit, more info. I played around a bit more with food in the birth of ghast event. Just like with strawberries and slices of watermelon, bananas, papaya, oranges also work. A basket of bananas is definitly a cheap and easy alternative for someone who plan to spend some time in this minigame - buy baskets at farming shop, glory tele to Karamja and fill up the baskets, have a full basket in inventory while trekking. I wonder if a sack of potatoes work as well??, it should since you can eat raw potatoes, but I have not tried. (I also was in mean mood, and gave poor Hank a cave nightshade and he got well. I am considering reporting that to Jagex, it doesnt make sense. On the other hand, who will use their nightshades to something like that when there are much better uses for them) When you take route 3 with a midlevel companion, the lumberjacks are combat level 64 (erm, need to recheck, 65 would make more sense as Rosebuster pointed out in game) with 17 hp, so yes you are right in that the lumberjack level depends both on route and on companion. I guess we need to collect complete info here :) On route 1 with weakest companion, lumberjacks are level 40 with 12 hp Edit again Regarding route 3, yes it definitly seems to be between 1-5 events. I went through my log (82 times on route 3) and got the following 0 events - never happened to me on route 3 1 event - happened 10 times =12% of the times 2 event - happened 31 times = 38% of the time 3 events - happened 33 times =40% of the time 4 events - happened 7 times = 8,5% of the time 5 events - only happened to me once =1,2 % of the time 6 or more events - never happened to me So to summon that up: When you take route 3, you will have 1-5 events during the trekk. Rougly 80% of the time you will get 2-3 events. I can confirm that wearing a snelm is works very well against the snails. I have only personal of it on route 1-2 so far, but they doesnt touch me on route 1, and very rarely hit low on me at route 2.
  13. I just got a long bone from a level 141 nail beast in the Burgh de Rott ramgble. Just as with other creatures who has been reported to drop long bones, the nail beasts drop big bones.
  14. Modern most of the time since getting around with the modern teleports suits me best, and hialch is a good way of getting rid of various junk that stacks in my bank :P Occasionally lunar, either just a short stop on lunar isle to make molten glass, or a period of a few days for slayer. Ancients if I play PC and dont have chinchompas. I dont play PC often, but if I do, I always want something multitarget to deal with spinners blocked by other monsters.
  15. Just keep in mind that the forum rules *HAVE* been updated to allow an old topic to be bumped up, if there was legitime reasons. Look at Sith's post (post 7) in this topic http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=1150 Before that, bumping an old topic was a strict no-no. But since about a year back, it is clearly allowed if the new post has something to add. And personally I can absolutly not understand why you say only the topic owner can bump his own topic. Anyways, all mods having the same policy regarding this (as with regarding all other forum matters) would definitly make it easier for the users to follow this rule. That rule change also clearly states that the post should NOT be locked if the reply is nonsense, but that the nonsense should be split off. (as for my personal opinion, I dont think Hyjack went offtopic. Maybe his error was to actually use the word "bump" :? instead of typing a scentance or two about why he continued in an old topic instead of creating a new?)
  16. Of course it is but he is not asking whether he should buy full Guthans, he's trying to save $150k by pairing guthans plate with either Torag or Dharok legs to get the same defense stats as a matching platebody - but he's also concerned with the way it looks :) Its never wrong to start collecting a Guthan set though, get the plate now, get other pieces later on. Personally I am much more interested in function than looks. If I remember correct guthan, dharok and torags plates have the same stats, so in your situation I would get a guthan plate.
  17. There is an exellent place to kill cave slime for swamp tar (for salamander fuel), 5 cave slimes in a very small area :D Just north of the fishing spot in the cave.
  18. Hmmm, seems you can choose between range exp and agility exp depending on what route you take on the new agility course. Choices are always good :) Also good with new high level things to craft, and something to get firemaking from other than lighting tons of fires
  19. Take a look at the knowledge database, there are pages for quest experience in different skills.
  20. I agree with Hyjack and Militaris. Old posts where the poster do contribute to the post should definitly not get locked, but sometimes are. I *think* this is often is due to a forum user seeing it as breaking the rules and thereby report is, stressed mod comes along and doesnt read it all but just look at the dates and lock. I suggest a new policy among you mods. When you see an old post get a reply that does contribute to it, for one of the reasons Militaris stated, I suggest that you as a mod make a reply and say that something like "I am aware that this is an old topic, but since poster xxx [has new info or whatever reason] it is ok to bump this up. If you do that, you will get less risk that another mod lock it. You will also signal to the forum users that they dont have to report it as spam or reply "dont bump old topics". Wouldn't it be a better policy to just split off the "bump". That would let the topic stay unlocked, but would send it back to the page it came from. Sometimes very good topics are locked for this reason, and that is a shame in my opinion.
  21. What??? I always bring my cannon when I go to iron dragons, and it works very well in my opinion. I wear proselyte armour, att first with my dd++ and change to whip after that. Works very well.
  22. When doing second level on guards, I really suggest wielding a lava staff (or a firestaff if you dont have a lava staff) and bring nature runes so you can alch right away. Otherwise your inventory will fill up *very* fast. And you *do* want to stay until you get a clue, right ;) I visit the HAM people every now and then when I am in the mood to do level 1 clues :) Since I am high thieving myself, I dont bother with ham clothes. I wear gloves of silence, boots of lightness and a spottier cape.
  23. Yes, there is currently a bug with the weight. Sometimes when you bank stuff, you keep their weight. Logging out and in seems to fix it. I have seen on the official forums that other people have reported this to Jagex.
  24. Here it comes :P Prayer experience from ghasts in the temple trekking/Burgh de Rott minigame Level 139 ghasts on route 3 give 140 prayer exp when killed Level 109 ghasts on route 2 give 110 prayer exp when killed level 79 ghasts on route 1 give 80 prayer exp when killed
  25. Yes, it would be good with confirmation on a lot of the things I posted, especially the number of events it's possible to get on the different routes. Erm, I like the minigame, but since I am high combat level, I see taking route 1-2 too many times a waste of time ;) More data is also needed to be sure what it takes to get the maximum rewards with different companions and routes. The things I am pretty sure of is the prayer exp from ghasts and the number of NPC's you get in combat events with different companions.
