Guide for fight cave with verac please?
The actual effect of the verac's set basically makes you randomly hit with 100% accuracy... the problem is that you can be 100% accurate with a damage of zero. Any high level barrower that doesn't pray the melee brothers will tell you that verac usually uses the most food (even though dharok is more dangerous due to the huge max hits). That's my take on it and what I have seen in-game. On-Topic: Without guthans you need to bring about 5 sara pots (4) and the rest super restores (4) (or p pots and 5 super restores). I would suggest the xbow due to it's speed, the lack of a need for multiple weapons, and it's power. Make sure you have PLENTY of bolts since you will have to range every single thing. I would also suggest about 30 rune knives (s) for jad if you can afford the space. The point of bringing verac's/initiate armor is to extend your prayer. This is only necessary for those with very low prayer and/or low range (the longer it takes you to kill it the longer you are wasting prayer). If you have a decent prayer level range bonus will be more important and, of course, vice versa. I would suggest the following gear (or as close as possible) for somebody attempting it without a huge prayer/range level: Verac's or Initiate's helm Obby cape or Legend's Fury, Glory, or Unholy symbol (depending on prayer level) 3k+ Bolt Racks X bow or 1 crystal bow + one other good range weapon (rune knives, MSB + rune arrows both (s), etc.) Black Dhide body or Verac's/Initiate pl8 (Kharil's is not as good) Black Dhide Chaps or Verac's/Initiate skirt/legs (Kharil's is not as good) Archer Ring or Recoil White Boots or Rangers Dark Gloves or White Gloves or Black Vambs I would take prayer bonus over range bonus if less than 60 prayer but at least wear black body and archer ring. If less than 70 range I would train before attempting, lol, but 70-80 range I would try to supplement more range gear if your prayer is decent. White boots are a MUST and if you can afford it archer ring is nice as well (I used wealth lol I can't take the thing off its stuck).

Is Sand Actually Good Crafting Exp Now?
Sad thing is: I can walk to the monks, take the boat to entrana, get a load of seaweed, AND bank it before I can get a full load waiting for those 2 to respawn. They need at least one more net to make it faster (yes I was on a full world). That being said, it is a great spot to fish AND gather seaweed. I bring a log, a tinderbox, a small net, and fish while they respawn. I usually catch between 0-4 per respawn depending on my luck. When I am full I light the log, cook the monks, grab another seaweed (to replace the log), cook the seaweed, then bank. Pretty good if you use that method to gather seaweed there but otherwise entrana is the better choice.

Jagex gets rich from MACROERS?
When the macroers rear their ugly head in the face of a large portion of mid-high leveled players (such as the yew autoers are doing now) Jagex is forced to do something about it before their profits start to suffer. Regardless of how many macroers there are on both f2p and p2p there will never be more than HONEST players so Jagex cannot allow the balance to be shifted too much. When the autoers are making a significant impact that is very OBVIOUS and close to home (such as an honest lvl 80 f2p yew logger or any of his/her friends in f2p or p2p) Jagex must make a change and quickly. They cannot afford to let it go for years at a time like they did in RSC. If f2p dies from autoers a lot of future members will never join as well as the ads that will never get seen. More employees is one option but that costs money. If there is a way to get the same result without spending cash then any intelligent company owner will do so. The answer is to get a bunch of people who will do the work for free just for the priviledge of a shiny crown next to their name. Don't get me wrong I would GLADLY accept pmod for one simple reason: my reports are prioritized. I don't give a rats hiney about the "rank" etc. and would prefer the powers of pmod without the crown so that I can chat while I ban botters (since they usually are programmed to change worlds when a mod speaks). Anywho, these pmods can be Jagex's slave labor (slave as in no pay and they own your account not a rascist thing) to hunt down these autoers. If people see bannings happening they will be a LOT less critical of the amount of botters even if it remains the same. The fact that SOMETHING is being done is enough for most consumers. The problem, though, is not the amount of people working on banning cheaters. The problem is the fact that it is too easy to cheat. There are MANY simple fixes that would go a LONG way in reducing the appeal of macroing. They could have tiny aggresive lvl 10 spiders around every tree above maple. They could make oak trees and above fight back in a manner that would wipe out a lvl 3 but a lvl 25 character wouldn't be phased. They could make the areas in and around banks have pixels of the color that autoers target for banking strewn about. They could make combat requirements for passing certain levels in skills (20 combat for 50 in any skill, 30 for 70, etc.) They could make quest requirements for skilling past certain levels. They could completely seperate f2p from p2p. They could track autoers to ban the original main on a larger scale. They could make slight changes to randoms DAILY so that the programs must be continually revamped or babysat. They could make it a requirement that to get a skill past 50 you need at least one other over 30. And many, MANY more. This is just a list of the top of my head. Some of these are OBVIOUS last resorts and others are far from perfect but the point is that they would lessen the amount of autoers. From this list alone you could choose one or two that would make a significant impact on the autoing community while not affecting gameplay in a very negative way. I mean how many people would not raise their combat to 21 to prevent the spiders from bugging you while you chop wood? Who would care if you had to chomp a trout every fourth or fifth load to stay at max? Some of these changes are minor and would greatly impair autoers. There is no way to destroy them 100%. The point is to make it as hard and as time consuming as possible to auto. If you had to train combat, do a semi-difficult quest, deal with monsters while cutting, AND have another skill above 30 to cut yews would you bother making another charcter to auto on when this one got banned after sucessfully cutting for only 1 day? Honest gamers do all of that and more so they deserve the right to profit from the yews. If it takes a lot of manal time to prepare it for harvesting each time they make a new character they will be less and less likely to make another after it gets banned. Once it becomes more work than it is worth to auto only the stubbornly lazy will remain to be weeded out. If Jagex thought the same way as I do they would put a lot more effort into ending macroing on a large scale. The difference though, of course, is that I value integrity over money anyday. We (Jagex the Company and myself) are playing in different leagues, though, so our values are obviously going to be different. P.S. I am much too tired to spell/grammar check this as people seem fond of doing lately so deal with it. Aussy its about time you read something more than the comics. :P jk

Smart play for Pest Control
I been playing and there's definitely a hidden update about this. The southern shifter only occasionally appear now. I suppose JaGex noticed this game has become a little to easy and decided to change some of their formulas. My point was that when it does appear it shouldn't be killed. It doesn't really matter how often or how rare that is; only that when it does occur it should be taken advantage of.

About fire cape...
It costs a lot of gp to get it (200-800k a run depending on equipment) and a lot of time (2-3 hours). Since a single error at the wrong time could ruin a run and make all of that gp and time = wasted, I would think that the price would be no lower than 5mil each after a few months.

End the Frustration
I do not support. Sorry. It is VERY annoying to have KSers pop up but it is one of the few training grounds that encourage teamwork. I wear guthans and attack and my friend wears dharok. Two or 3 hits per kill each and on to the next 149. No offense, but if you don't like it there are plenty of other places to train that are superior for drops and/or xp. I agree with you though that KSers are lame and very annoying but still prefer mutli as opposed to single. Sorry. :?

Jagex gets rich from MACROERS?
Hardly a top-tiered player myself. He simply read this thread and contacted me in-game. Oh yeah, I was telling him to "re"-read it as in read it again. Reread - v : read anew; read again At least you had a useful post while correcting me though, lol.

Smart play for Pest Control
That was 'fixed' by jagex in the last update unfortunately. From what I have read it is still the same way... have you tried this out personally? My friend playing right now said that they are still blocking...

Jagex gets rich from MACROERS?
Ummm... thank you? I am all about correcting my mistakes but that hardly necessitated a post. A pm or a ps would have sufficed. I did misspell "irk" but if that was the only thing you got from that post you might want to reread it. Not trying to flame ya' but that was superfluous.

What skill are you mainly Training atm?
Slayer and combat stats other than mage. My slayer level is pathetic but have never really liked killing what I am told anyway. Farming everyday of course.

Monk fish are new sharks?

Jagex gets rich from MACROERS?
+1 generally speaking I can't really rag on them for prioritizing the banning of f2p as opposed to p2p. It makes sense to ban the rulebreakers that are costing you money as opposed to those who are MAKING you money. I couldn't have said it any better than Paul did: P.S. My hard drive is garbage now so I lost the other screenies that I mentioned before. I asked Paul's permission to post screenies of our conversations (not because he is "Paul" but because it is common courtesy) and he said (basically) "Yes, as long as they don't have me dissing customer service, hehe." which I have NEVER seen him do, btw. We don't have exactly the same views nor see eye to eye about every topic but we are both friendly and respectful to each other which GREATLY helps in our discussions. Oh, I was reporting flax macroers while chatting with him. The ones with "flax" in their name REALLY irks me. :x

Farm & ...
Everytime I log into the game the first time that day I pick/plant all of my crops and pick some berries. After that I always do whatever task that I am going for (slayer is one of the best) then repick/plant when I go back to the bank. It is not hard to keep a nice rotation and it is pretty hard to make more cash in the time it takes to pick/plant. Everytime you pass through or tele to a city that has farmable things you should make a point to pick/plant everytime. The xp adds up rather quickly and is FAR from a difficult task.

Pest Control Event! For Gondor! Updated!
Last time I was there super sets were a waste (especially sup def) because your stats return to normal after every round. Since we will be owning the portals most likely in less than a minute they will be a huge waste. That being said, it is a GREAT place to use those hundreds of regular attack (and strength if you don't sell to f2p) pots that you will most likely NEVER use. I don't know of anyone 90+ who trains with regular attack pots but they usually have a ton in their bank. Also, I really don't think that anything will need to be repaired for the simple fact that we can beat the portals before the creatures can beat the knight. Each one will kill heals him 60 (I think) and if we leave the gates open a MAX of 9 can hit him at once but most likely only 3 or 4. One person controlling the flow of monsters around the knight (keeping the number attacking him to 3 or less and making sure that there is a melee monster attacking from the south to prevent a ton of rangers/magers) might be plenty. It also might help if we can all come to an agreement on tactics and specific groups. Reading some of the strategies I posted might speed things up even more. P.S. Are you going to pm us the date/time/world so that we don't have a ton of 60s crashing our party? =P

Smart play for Pest Control
You didn't mention the most important thing, which you might want to add, do NOT kill the southern shifter since he blocks the rangers/magers. Good tips, though.

Merchanting...a True Skill?
To me there are several types of merchants and therefore varying degrees of "skill" involved. The Skiller/Accidental Merchant - They are focused on skilling and purchase or use skills to raise their levels. After a few months they notice that they have acquired a large amount of something useful and either sell it for a nice profit or try to buy more and end up selling when they get an insane offer on their goods. This is how I made my first merch-esque trade. I was buying d bones everywhere I could for 2-2.5k each and wasn't paying attention. I bought about triple what I was originally intending and was kind of mad at myself. Then I get a pm asking how many bones I had. After telling them about 3.5k d bones they offered to buy them all at 2.6k ea. I told them that I really didn't want to sell them all and they said 2.7k ea. I did the math and was sooo close to taking it but I still wanted 72 prayer so I declined again. She then said she would pay 2.8k ea and I couldn't refuse. I sold them all and bought the bones I needed again at 2.6k each. Both of us were quite happy though. This group does not have any specialized merchanting skills other than the knowledge of prices and locations to merchant. An honest group that simply want the full price for their goods and pay what they can afford for others' goods. The Needy Merchant - Not a negative classification. They simply sell what they have and rebuy cheap things to reach a short-term goal. Like selling all of there ores/bars then buying any deals they can find and reselling them for the normal price. Not serious players in the merchanting department but still have an effect. If I had bank space I would probably do this on the side whenever I have time at a bank. More skilled than the above merchants due to the fact that they have to be able to buy/sell many different items. Not a huge difference though and can easily merch themselves into the red without patience. The Greedy Merchant - They lie, scam, trick, manipulate, and try to get you to sell/buy for less/more than you agreed on. These people use their willingness to be "evil" as a weapon. They try to buy something for 18,987 gp instead of 20k because they "only got this much". They will basically abuse others for their own benefit. A large portion of people who nearly exclusively merchant in the game fall into this category (perhaps 35%). The Long-Term Merchant - Anytime they can afford it they buy a rare and bank it until they need the cash or their is a huge surge in it's price. Nearly all higher leveled players do this at one point in their gaming career. Not really skilled per se. They simply know that gp loses value and rares gain value. The Professional Merchant - Buys low sells high but on a much larger scale than the above merchants. 90% of what they do is merchant. Usually deals in rares and HUGE amounts of consumable goods. These are the people who can have the biggest impact on the economy by flooding the market with 200 santas or making rumors to manipulate prices. With this amount of gp around in their banks that they could never completely use in training flat 99s greed can make it quite easy to stray from their original morals. I don't know many but would assume that most are fair traders with a few being straight manipulators and incredibly greedy. This is by FAR the most skilled form of a merchant. They know to diversify thier assets. They know which days and which times of the day to buy/sell any item. They know the value of a good rare and use them to thier advantage. If anybody can predict market changes it would be this group since they can single-handedly alter prices by flooding the market or buying all of one rare up. Eh, that's my take. All merchanting involves SOME skill but most of that skill is using common knowledge to their advantage. Merchants are important to the economy for several reasons and are detrimental for others.

The "You are wrong" game
I can't find one person in "australia". It is, after all, simply a word. Perhaps you meant the country? You might want to be more specific next time. :P At least one person saw this sentence.
