  1. I have difficulties understanding what the BTS says. It raises more big (fearful) questions than joy or anticipation. It feels as if they know what kind of response these updates are going to get, and try to push that moment, when the rants forums fill to their highest extent, a little further away. This BTS doesn't give answers to the most obvious questions that it's readers will have, maybe because the answers aren't 'pretty'. So here are few of my first reactions and questions Yay a new minigame! But wait, does it say loot? Does it mean I'll lose my items? Does it mean that this minigame is the same as the wilderness; place for the richest to take advantage of the poorer or less experienced players? Minigame that lacks the something that fight pits or castlewars have, that is only played because it raises your ranks in the hiscores? Clan wars arena Yay for un-interrupted wars, no looters or crashers! But wait, it doesn't tell if it is f2p! What about people who are f2p but enjoy being in clan wars? Does this potentially mean that I can't take part in my clan's wars anymore, because I'm not a member? And what do I gain if my clan wins? What happens to my items if I die? Can I set rules so that I can have a melee only- war, or a 10vs10 war? Or do I just have to trust the opposing clan's leader when he says they won't break any of the rules? I could be just 'spreading hysteria' here, but I also don't suggest you to get your hopes up, as it is said. It's a great time to enjoy Runescape today when it still is ok. Maybe it'll be even better tomorrow, who knows.
  2. Magic is an interesting concept. How'd you explain it to someone who doesn't know what the word means? Is it 'a special power', 'unnatural' and 'un-explainable'? In a way, magic has lost it's place in the community (irl). Earlier people were burned alive for witchcraft and magic. What if you could show a telephone or a tv to medieval people, you'd be burned too. The new devices techonology has brought us with electricity are the thing what people would've called magic a few hundred years ago. But what is magic today? In runescape I find the Dorgeshkhaan scientist interesting. He studies magic and runes in a totally different way than wizards do. He tries to combine logic and magic. Runes in runescape as a mean of producing magic works great, and the legend behind them is 'believable'. - buying mana 300 ea? :-X
  3. +1 Seriously, name me a problem in the community of Runescape, that my ignore list couldn't fix.
  4. The customer support surprised me a few months ago, as I got a personal answer in less than 15 minutes. The next query was answered in less than 5 minutes, non-automated. And yes, the replies were satisfying :) Though a year ago, when I asked the same questions as in the scenario above, I got an automated reply that didn't answer my questions :wall: Maybe they changed the monkeys in their office with penguins #-o
  5. I'd be interested to see a monthly report from jagex on the number of banned accounts, new members, new accounts, most and least players online etc offtopic :P That is no problem, players will just have to ditch the pking rules and start using protection prayers. Sara brews were a problem earlier because a pker was 'impossible' to defeat if he had a full inventory of sara brews with him. Now we have the godsword to help kill them, though even the godsword isn't that much better (vs whip+shield)
  6. AAAGGGH HOW? How can you get all the pieces in 2 hours? That's impossible. Tell me how you did it. What route, what people you took, did you evade a lot or what. Help please, I've wasted so many hours down there and ever just got 5 boots. ... Other than that, nice blog
  7. I did that a few months ago, weird that they haven't fixed it yet :-s Now we just need a fairyring tele to the mighty Jad. \
  8. Well my friend, I think we have pretty solid proof on the Mahjarrat link. A little bit more than just silly links. Hazelmere in The Path of Glouphrie quest: Skilled brothers, numbering eight, will assemble to fight the mahjarrat deceiver, and they be heading north to confront him. Oracle in Postbag from the Hedge: The threat from the north shall be of Mahjarrat made. Some people suggested that some or all of the eight could be mahjarrats. Which just doesn't fit. The threat shall be Mahjarrat made, but it doesn't mean the 8 will be. #-o I didn't mean to say that this prediction wasn't about the mahjarrat. That is pretty obvious, eh? If you don't understand something from my posts, please tell me. I feel that I don't understand your message 100%, so if my answer doesn't seem to match your post, then don't worry. Your friend, Perakp. ( :XD: ) -- edit: Referring to this thread @RSOF qfc: 16-17-356-50893382 Did some investigations, and it looks alright to me.. Could be, or then not. Speculating IS fun. From the quest ̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâôWhat lies below', Dagon'hai are told to be a zamorakian organization that escaped from Varrock to a secret tunnel leading to the chaos altar. It seems to me though that they aren't zamorak followers, but guthix or saradomin ones. Wouldn't be the first time when history was written wrong.
  9. Hazelmere doesn't say that you are one of the eigth brothers, just that he sees you being there somewhere, dressed in a set of evil robes. We'll know what this prediction is about when we get a quest that requires us to wear those robes (ghostly robes maybe? lol). The eight brothers could be anything or anyone. Maybe eigth saradomin monks or some other group we haven't yet heard of. I find it quite silly that people link them to barrows brothers, zanik, the mahjarrat etc. Most of the theories don't have any other proof behind them, but the word 'brothers' that must mean the barrows' bros. But I can't disagree, this is some delicious material to speculate over. Lately, mahjarrats have popped up in many places. The mysterious mage searching something in the Dorgesh Kaan- dungeon, this prediction, shadow sword, and the Oracle's bedtime story. I can give you a piece of advice. Don't get your hopes up. Eyes of Glouphrie was released on 15th August 2006. So it took nearly a year to develop this next part to the questline. It might take another year for the next part to be released. (on the other hand, it only took less than six months for Myreque III to come out after the part II )
  10. The quest was challenging and made me rofl a lot  It tells more about runescape history and stuff about mahjarrats and and... The quest rocks. :) Especially the final battle and the cutscene after it  Speculations about future updates will arise after more people have completed this one. And yet another quest waiting for a sequel...
  11. Seriously, wanna bet? 100m says that the games room is still as full as yesterday  _ALL_ the tables were full yesterday, atleast nearly #-o Me and my other games fan- friends were thrilled gj jagex is all i can say =D>
  12. What's your method of temple trekking? I'm trying to get the full lumberjack too, but I've been stuck at 5 boots for five days now. I take the yellow caped people with the hardest route so the rewards are good, and I wear my prayer-beast equipment because I don't want to risk anything. I believe that I use less cash in prayer potions than I would use on food if I didn't pray. It's weird that there aren't many temple trekking guides out there, even when the rewards were boosted and many people try to get the lumberjack clothes. :-k
  13. :ohnoes: Looking at the people's reactions is cool. Haven't ever seen something like this. I hope they get it back up soon, with a roll-back as short as possible. I suggest that everyone goes out and takes a nice cup of tea. Relax a bit before ranting the whole next week. \
  14. The bad community hasn't yet stopped me from having fun or enjoying the game. With the help of report abuse- button and the allmighty ignore list I have enough control over the people around me. The lack of good conversations with fellow by-passers doesn't bother me, because I know where to look when I need someone to talk with. The growing number of pointless topics here at tip.it is understandable, because there hasn't been a discussable update or event in the past two weeks (except today's login server crash). I don't understand why people are so negative these days. Someone care to explain? :boohoo:
  15. You really shouldn't throw away your towel, you might need it some day :shame: Thanks for this blog, it was fun reading it, and good luck with real life!
  16. Antidragonfire potion and mage pray should defend 100% of the dragonfire (?) or you could start the fight with the darkbow spec, before it had a chance to attack you? Can you place a cannon in the cave?
  17. Have you tried lowering it's defence? Have you tried using dark bow's special on it (always hits)? Have you poisoned it? Do you use vengeance? Do you agree that it has the best drops in the game and should be challenging to defeat? Chances of getting a dragonic visage or the dragon large from them are slim, but it is possible. And the other drops haven't sounded that bad either. It was about time we got something 'high level', 'hard' monsters to fight with reasonable drops. Haven't been there myself though, so don't listen to me
  18. Games room - No random events - If you want to relax, you can play a few games with the non-busy-slayers that often come to change their tasks with their games necklaces \ Case closed, lock this topic plz :XD:
  19. I enjoy being a "sad one-itemer noob", so I only wield a rune pickaxe and have a full inv of bandages, barricades and explosives with me. It makes castlewars more challenging, and sometimes more fun :anxious: Where others use hundred of thousands in barrage runes, I get the 2 tickets for doing practically nothing \
  20. Thanks for posting those, you made me sure that this will definitely NOT be a new skill :) Looks and sounds cool and something worth waiting for notheless. The discussion is still open on the matter of when and how will the next skill be released and what it should be like. btw. I wonder if the museum goes down-/upstairs, the current version of it couldn't possibly hold a whole dragon in it #-o
  21. Propably not with the intention of making a hint, but the ideas of pitfall trapping monsters and tracking down kebbits are exactly the same as what there was in the regicide. From this we could've guessed what the skill was going to be like and maybe by searching for similar things now, we could guess what the next skill will be like. I'm sure all the future skills will have some use. And remember to compare the new stuff to the stuff that we already got instead of comparing it to the stuff you want. For example in my opinion hunter was much better skill than mining. I don't even want to think of how much rants Jagex would get if they released mining as a new skill now. "omg lol we can mine runite? what's the point we already got dragon armor?" Maybe I am already digging up non-existing treasures, but there definitely will be something else than just a graphical update. Just the ruby necklace tells enough. And I find speculating quite fun  *buys a helmet for the extreme headbang* :wall: Thanks for the tip, please lock this if needed.
  22. Here's what I think. It's better to be rejected than not ask at all. The only way to fail is to stop trying. Just keep your head up. Doesn't it feel weird to get tips from people that don't even know you? Good luck in the future :)
  23. Warning: The following contains small spoilers of the following quests: Regicide, In aid of the Myreque, Legends quest, Another slice of Ham, The dig site and the Desert treasure. - Soon it has been 6 months since the release of the last skill Hunter and 12 months since Construction came out. After reading this month's behind the scenes some people have predicted that the next skill will come out in May 2007. The BTS talks about the Varrock city graphical update and the Varrock museum getting new features: Some things to point out: - The text hints that the museum will grow bigger than it is now. It talks about curators, in plural. At the moment there is just one curator in the museum. More curators could be needed to take care of the bigger museum. - Experimenting with rock samples, completing new exhibits and getting chunks of xp sounds either like a minigame or a new skill. Knowing Jagex I'd say this is a skill ;) Why would they be so secretive about a new minigame? I don't know about you, but to me this is exactly Jagex's style of telling nothing, but infact telling more than you'd first notice. They did the same thing when construction was coming out, and my spider-sense was right back then too. I'm 99% sure that this will be a new skill. The time is right, the hints are out there, but the number of "omg a new skill coming out" -topics is near to zero. Next I'll try to predict what this new skill will be like. The BTS tells a few examples what the skill involves, but it doesn't tell anything too clearly or what the rewards are. The last few skills had hints about them before they were released, so I'll search for similar hints about this skill next. Hints of the previous skills: Farming (July 2005) - In the legends quest you had to grow a tree from Yommi seeds and make a totem pole of it. - You could plant mithril seeds and pick up flowers. - The legend of Arrav, from the Library of Varrock, tells that Arrav was taught the skill of farming. - You were able to get seeds by pickpocketing farmers and from monster drops before the skill was out. Construction (May 2006) - Teak and mahogany trees were added to the game before the skill was out (Tai Bwo- clean up - August 2005, Royal trouble -May 2006) - You were able to 'construct' houses, bank booths etc in the quest 'In aid of the Myreque'. - Construction was the skill that people had been waiting for since rsc, people had found knowledgebase leaks and seen non-released-objects beforehand from some weird website. The hype was huge, even when the bts was very obscure. Hunter (November 2006) - There were traps and tracks in the Isafdar forests (regicide). - Bug report- leak, when reporting a bug you could pick a skill that the bug was about, the list also had hunter on it, before it was even announced. - The legend of Arrav also mentioned the skill of hunting. - The hype was huge because of the BTS telling that hunter was coming, so Jagex decided not to announce the future skills in the BTS's anymore. Archeology (possible name for the next skill) - Dig site and the Desert treasure have archeologists in them and Dig site is all about digging. Archeology will most likely be about panning, digging and experimenting with rock samples. - Another slice of ham required you to use your speciment brush once again. - The ruby necklace will get a use when the museum gets it's update. Pretty weird for a necklace to be used in a normal graphical update or a minigame? - "Helm must be rejoined when the Gypsy gets a makeover." - said chaos elemental's letter in the postbag from the hedge (August 2006). The Gypsy lives in Varrock, so she'll get her makeover this month. No idea what the helm part means though, but it could be related to the next skill. That should cover all the proof and hints that people have found. Now all we can do is wait and speculate on what it could be like. It could be finding new (or extremely old) weapons and armor, like was done in the another ham slice, or discovering tombs and temples, artefacts and treasure or just bones and pottery. It could also be interesting to speculate on wether this skill was spot- dependant, so there only was a restricted number of training spots and immerse fighting over them (like in hunter) or if it was a money sink like construction (repairing and restoring artefacts could be expensive) or if it was slow, annoying, pointless and stupid like... none of the skills so far  So, what do you think? Am I just babbling over nothing and making up my own theories that will never come true, or is there really something great and huge coming towards us sooner than we think? There are only two weeks left of May and we have already gone through most of the updates mentioned in the bts. And no matter what they release, I'm sure we'll find something to amuse us! Btw, if this isn't a new skill and I'm wrong, and it's just a lame rock example brushing and get some crafting xp update, I will :wall: <-
  24. Found from RS K-base.
  25. Just stay calm when the healers come, you don't need to focus on them that much. Just take them off one at a time (as fast as possible), without rushing too much and forgetting about jad's attacks. Once all the healers are on you, decide wether you want to kill the healers or just finish of Jad. If you want to kill the healers, check how much hp Jad has left. If Jad has more than 50% of his health left (one of the healers healed him) you must shoot him to 30-40%, after that you can go around the italy rock (if you used the "safe" spot when Jad came) and kill the healers there with your guthans + melee pray. Jad can't attack you over the italy. If Jad is over 50% health when you kill the healers they will respawn soon after and you'll need to kill them again. If you just want to finish Jad, stay focused and either be extremely fast with Jad (so the healers don't kill you) or get the healers in row so that only one of them attacks you. Killing the healers can be good if you are low on health and need to heal with your guthans. When I got my firecape I needed to kill the healers 3 times before I figured I needed to get Jad below 50% hp. It was good though, because I needed the guthan- healing, Jad hit me like 3 times when I was too slow with my prayers. And the top tip: Search and look as many Jad killing- videos as possible. They really help a lot. I watched like 10 of them before finally succeeding on my 4th try.
