  1. was this posted in the general forum and then moved to off topic? i hardly recognize any of the usernames in the whole first page of posts  .
  2. some information on what it is about would be nice. id rather not download 118 megs, only to find out its something about runescape (assuming this because of the title).
  3. speaking of lost, its my favourite show :D . other than that, pretty much just comedies and cartoons. i guess you could count firefly, even though its been cancelled.
  4. what about sunli and the-sith, who have 8420 and 8346 (respectively) total posts? their join date is may 22, 2004, so they have been here over two years. anyways, congrats bubs on being such a good spammer :P
  5. there used to be an "introduce yourself" sticky, for some reason it was taken down. anyways, hello, and welcome to TIF :P .
  6. flat grass and farmland make really good scenery at the right times. sunrises and sunsets i think look great, especially when there is one big tree in the middle of a field with nothing else around it. when its a clear sky day, you cant beat the blue sky. when its a little cloudy, but still mostly sunny, you could lay on your back and look at the clouds. :P
  7. hey cad! i saw "banned" under your name, it didnt say temporary or anything so i was wondering what you did so bad  . anyways, is this about "reputation" in real life, or on the forums here?
  8. im libertarian. one step of government above anarchy. the absolute least amount needed. religiously i am agnostic, in that i dont believe there is a god, but if there turned out to be one i wouldnt be all that suprised. still dont think the god/s would be anything like we could think of though.
  9. ahh man, a princess bride special edition :D . i need to find someone to buy my regular one so i can buy that one.
  10. just dont do anything rash. like hurting yourself. it doesnt sound like you are or are planning to, but i thought id just say its not a good idea. people have ups and downs. currently im at a down point kind of like you. just weather it out, and (hopefully) it gets better.
  11. as of right now i really only have three things i worry about, which in turn makes me hate the thought of them. 1. stuck in a lease at $350 a month, at a college appartment place two hours away. going to be paying 350 a month for twelve months, and i will never get to live there. 2. road rage. i dont worry about road rage, i worry about the fact that i have road rage, really badly. the person in the highway next to me started to give me a mean look, but after he saw me he looked very concerned. probably because i was banging my fists everywhere, and hitting my head on the steering wheel, and screaming the f word at the top of my voice over and over and over. once it started i couldnt stop, and i kind of am worried about my health. 3. dont know what to do with my life, and im 19.
  12. the moon has gravity. its like 60% of the earths or something like that. when you are in space between the moon and the earth there is a very weak gravitational pull, so it seems to be no gravity.
  13. from my experience with my nephews, spanking worked great, and it didnt really have to be hard at all. they dont get spanked very much at all anymore, just the "threat" of spanking them is good enough. they are also a lot better mannered than other kids their age.
  14. heh, that is very interesting :D . and very addicting, i cant close the tab, i dont have the willpower :o .
  15. two pictures came to mind when i saw the title of this topic: actually i cant find the other one, but it was a picture of the dog whisperer from the south park episode :P
  16. Metropolis - 1927 german silent science fiction film. at first, that doesnt make it sound to good. and while i was watching it at the begining, i was wondering why it was so high on the imdb list (61). for about the first 15 minutes, i kept on looking at the timer, just waiting to get it over with. but after that, i started to notice a lot more of the movie. once you get into it, you are hooked. for a 1927 movie, the special effects are absolutely amazing. i havent watched many (maybe not any) science fiction movies that are so old they are silent, so i dont know how it compares to them. for the movie's artistic appretiation rating i would give it a 10/10. silent films arent really my thing though, my opinion would be it was good. High Noon - westerns arent really my thing. if you like westerns, try it out. 101 on the list, apperantly some people think its pretty good. gary cooper did pretty well, and i always enjoy seeing grace kelly on screen  .
  17. heh :P its kind of good in a way for you, because as soon as someone compares something to hitler, he/she automatically loses the debate. EDIT 1 and 2: whats wrong with my bbcode? am i just missing something?
  18. i agree with you, im completly against welfare of anykind. have you studied any economics over it? all of ayn rands novels are pro laissez-faire capitalism, any of those would be good. if you want to go way back, adam smith's a wealth of nations would be a good read. walter williams has a column in the forum section of sunday's paper, if you get that. i dont know how far you go with this, all three of those people go all the way to being completly free. some may not agree entirely with that, since roads/electricity/water would no longer be maintained by the government.
  19. i thought it was really scary the first time i watched it when i was 7 or 8  . it brings back so many childhood memories. scarying my sister by doing the high pitched sound that is played during the shower scene 8-) . Lawrence of Arabia - this movie is pretty long. it started off kind of slow, i wasnt really into it. i actually was kind of dissapointed that the #28 movie wasnt turning out to be all that great. it picked up though, and it picked up good. still was a little bit longer than it need have been, but it was worth it. i even went back and watched the first ten minutes (i really couldnt keep my attention on it) once again. decent performances by all, considering i dont think they used many arabic actors in it. obi wan kenobi (aka alec guinness) played the arabic prince. all the major arabic people in it were played by non arabs. thats the only part that really detracted from the movie, and it really didnt detract all that much. david lean was the director, and he also did doctor zhivago, which was pretty good. a few other movies he did ive heard of before but havent seen yet. off topic: the local library has helped out tremendously with the top 250 list, they have a ton of the older movies there. if you are trying to find movies from the list (as i know at least Putter is), maybe try it out. /off topic.
  20. its pretty long, but i still have problems finding places to put all my useless crap  . behind the jessica alba poster is a bathroom, which is kind of nice to have. i dont have serenity yet, but i will buy it on Serenity Day: June 23. i was going to make a topic for it, but i dont know how big of interest it would be, so ill just stick it here. june 23 is also Can't Stop the Serenity day, where you may be able to see serenity on the big screen again. closest place for me is at a library 2 hours away, thats wouldnt be worth it. i wish i could go :( my order is a bit odd, but there is order to it  . youll probably think im crazy, but ill try and explain it. lets see, top left going right: romance-classics-cannibal trilogy-special cased dvds-boxsets. those are kind of ordered by size, all the quentin tarantino are together though. the middle shelf are all comedies, kind of seperated by type, kind of by actor, and kind of by cases. the next shelf is everything else. its mostly seperated by actor, all the foreign movies are together, and some cases on the left are all the same. and there is a lot of ordering by when i purchased them, which is probably the biggest cause of confusion for anyone except for me. the bottom shelf is where im sticking all my new movies regardless, because the other shelves are filled. see, im crazy :o . i really enjoy my door poster too 8-) . im a huge fan of box sets, i have to have the box set if it exists. those dvds right underneat the matrix collection are actually my duplicates, i had all three matrix movies on dvd already when i bought the UE  . the other one under there is once upon a time in mexico, which i had to buy the box set (robert rodriguez's mexico trilogy, right next to sin city). and the matrix UE was actually not to expensive, i think i paid $35 for it. had a 10% or 20% discount coupon to get that though. normally $40 i think. still pretty cheap. heh, john lewis. first time ive ever heard that name was in this thread :D thats actually a pretty good way to order them. i just dont like those cases with a piece of cardboard as the cover among all my other dvds. and i like to keep the bigger ones out of the way, so that it looks all even. and the cardboard covered ones dont slip in and out as easy when you have them packed together too tight
  21. it is pretty good, isnt it :P that picture works pretty well too, go from a decent looking woman to looking totaly ugly, thats sad.
  22. you cant post no-cd patches here. and if it takes you hours to find a no-cd patch, you are not looking in the right places.
  23. i want a high def tv, those things are awesome. allright, i got my posters up, and it took forever the way i did it :D . my room is a little messy, because im a pack rat. i would edit everything out and just leave the posters, but thats too much work. this is what i did to every single poster. its painters tape, which is just masking tape that is blue and costs 2 dollars more (im such a tool :D ). it comes off very easily, but you can see spots from some of the older stuff that i took off. cant tell at all on the other side though. (there is a glare on some of these from my camera flash, the lights in my room suck so i had to use it) west side of room east side of room south east south west north east north west that should give a fairly good idea of where all the posters are. :D Taxi Driver (a little glare on it) Pulp Fiction (a lot of glare on it) The Shining Sin City (only poster i spent more than $10 on, and its worth it  ) Lola Rennt and Le Fabuleux destin d'Am̮̩lie Poulain V for Vendetta and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas King Kong and Casablanca (the new king kong, even though it looks old) Resevoir Dogs The Usual Suspects and National Lampoon's Animal House my dvd collection, leon the professional and minority report are being loaned out. other than that, everything is there (and in my crazy order, even though it looks haphazard) i dont have any special posters, i just have the cheap ones that i like. i would spend a bit more and get some nice originals, but i dont have any more room to put any

i definently wouldnt use a credit card for school, just try and get a student loan. EDIT: about my previous post: i just remembered my parents cosigned my car loan. i may not have had good enough credit to get the loan by myself. then again, some places do advertise that they will give you credit no matter what if you have a job, so i may have had good enough.
  25. @hohto: i just want to point out that the united states isnt a democracy, its a constitutional republic. but i understand your point, all the politicians and pretty much everyone calls it a democracy.
