  1. looking through "thing's" thread on that forum you linked too, freaking amazing. i need to start getting the special editions of the movies i really like (would like to get special editions of everything, but that wont happen). i only really have two special items in my collection, my planet of the apes set and my matrix set. time to start working on it 8-)
  2. the last classmates i had in my local commmunity college were half middle aged single moms, and other half were not exactly the cream of the crop from my highschool. a few "popular" people i went to school with really changed their attitude, i guess cause we are all out in the world working along with school. so my classmates in general are good.
  3. yeah, thats what i heard too. i know it had a 0% on rotten tomatoes for a while
  4. eww? :? i hope you dont mean "eww?" about scarlett johannson. if you do, here are some pics to help you change your mind enjoy :P
  5. I can't believe you don't know Bernard and his magical watch! :o Meh man... That was when I was a child, a little small human  Yeah, I remember him, but he depende on his watch to freeze time, we need to fucus on time freezing by mind, just think of freezing, and PUFT! done! :D ~komodo i still dont know who bernard is :( . it would be pretty awesome, wouldnt it? actually i was thinking the other two would be cool too, insane amount of luck, with memories from all the great military leaders in the past, or being able to communicate with wolves and have super sight, smell and hearing.
  6. if he wasnt black, he wouldnt have been upgraded, because the story wouldnt mean anything. the story is moot if he isnt a different race. and you are talking about affirmative action, which is in effect.
  7. i would love to see a lot of new styles too. give me a choice to go through. but i will probably just go back to subBlack anyways
  8. we have a topic in which we take pictures of our dvd collections, and we have another one in which we used a program such as intervocative to make a online list of our movies.
  9. "Band of Brothers" - a good tv miniseries that was featured on HBO. its about a group of people in the 101st division during the european part of ww2. apperantly its all true, they even have the veterans who are still alive talk about it before each show. definently a good watch for anyone with a little extra time (10 episodes a little over an hour long each) and anyone mildly interested in ww2. plenty of action, and overall good acting performances. Lucky Number Slevin - apperantly a lot of people didnt like this movie. i enjoyed it, i didnt even figure out the twist till it came up in the movie. josh hartnett wasnt great, but he did good enough. bruce willis didnt have all that much airtime, but he did pretty good with what he had. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington - one of the reasons jimmy stewart is one of my favorite actors. this movie was really good, gives a good look at politicians. the only part that i think the movie really lost with was the end. it was good, then became great, then stayed great, then got better, then it just all of the sudden ended, which wouldnt be bad if it was done differently. just didnt seem like the end fit the movie. EDIT: no reason to make a new post, i guess Arsenic and Old Lace - hilarious movie. i havent rolled on the floor laughing at a movie in a while, but this one lives up to the last sentence on the dvd box: "youll die laughing." its a 1944 movie, so it is in black and white. has cary grant and priscilla lane (another of my favorite old school actresses) who give awesome performances, in fact i thought grant's was one of the best ive seen. directed by frank capra, who directed "its a wonderful life" "mr smith goes to washington" and "mr deeds goes to town" to name a few. you will definently like this movie, even if you dont like old movies. just give it a chance. EDIT 2: once again no reason to make a new post just first wanted to say that i ended up missing lost last night because of watching arsenic and old lace, and i didnt mind it a bit. when i miss lost, i am usually very, very mad. but i totally forgot about it, was to into the movie. Roman Holiday - a good romance movie. audrey hepburn and gregory peck were both awesome. and she is pretty good looking too. not as good as some other romance movies, but it is still pretty high on the list. EDIT 3: heh, i swear this is going to be the last time today :D Bringing Up Baby - if every movie was great, the good ones wouldnt stand out so much. the only good thing about this movie is that i can compare it to the other ones and see how good they are. ive had a large amount of good movies in a row, so i guess i was due for a bad one. i dont like katherine hepburn. for some reason i thought she was related to audrey hepburn, so i was dissapointed with one being so awesome and the other one being so not awesome. katherine hepburn ruined this movie for me. or maybe it was the movie, because it seemed like she was supposed to be what she was doing. anyhow, i didnt like this movie at all.
  10. i just thought of another one that would be cool, the ability to remember everything perfectly. like you remember 5 minutes ago the same as 20 years ago, every single bit of information. and of course the ability of your brain to cope with that, so insanity does not ensue
  11. haha, its amazing how much people change in 5 years :D
  12. invisibility ftw! although i think the coolest thing ever would be having the ability to control the "True Source" ala wheel of time books. i dont know how often i think about that, at least an hour a day at work. @cadburys_egg: heh, thats always the first thing i think of :P
  13. just saw a post on digg, people with ip addresses 70.xxx.xxx.xxx to 79.xxx.xxx.xxx may have problems with their service. just a heads up if someone wonders why its not working.
  14. Man, how couldn't you like this movie? Maybe it's subtle comedy that some people don't like (like King of the Hill...god i love that show), but i thought it was awesome and really funny, how bout you watch it over a couple times? then maybe you'll get more of the jokes. did you read his post? he gave it a 10/10, he was just posting in the wrong topic i think.
  15. just out of curiosity, what are they firing the good teacher for? and do you live in an area where they get paid according to how well their students do? if you do, you could all decide not to do the homework, and the teacher wouldnt want to bring down her average so she may not take a grade on it though. thats a bit of a risk, if a few kids end up doing the project you are screwed, if she grades it anyways you are screwed, and if you dont live in a grades=money area then it wouldnt work at all. i really have no other advice though, i think you are pretty much screwed.
  16. i havent read the books, but whenever i see white text i know its a spoiler, so it works ok for me. still think we need to get some better way to do spoilers on the forums, althought i wouldnt know how to go about doing it. thats the sensible approach to it, and he probably did do that. people are still going to be pissed off about it though, at mothers day i figured out that my whole family hates the movie, the books, and everything related to it. they of course know nothing about it, except they are supposed to hate it.
  17. to answer your question, is it worth getting her fired? no, some friends and i tried to get our computer teacher fired, finally they said they would do something about it, turns out she came back this year. luckily i graduated. they wont fire a teacher very easily, its way to hard to do. id say just do the homework, its kind of a lot, but youll have a lot more in college.
  18. heh, i may be one of those people that are pissing you off. i should say, i was for about two weeks. i got over it :P . the very basics of it, do good things and good things happen to you, do bad things and bad things happen to you, seems to be the most plausible form of religion in my eyes. but then i think about all the bad things that happen to good people and i throw it out too.
  19. first time i heard it too, and ill have to agree, does sound like its just made up. good none the less, made me laugh
  20. heh, i was just about to say that. and i wanted to mention the movie is directed by ron howard, so thats another reason to go see it.
  21. heh, just saw the news on digg. pretty cool, although i dont need it, since i never use the phone
  22. the film also happens to have Audrey Tautou (Fabuleux destin d'Am̮̩̉̉lie Poulain, Le), Jean Reno (Leon: The Professional), and Ian McKellen (LOTR, X-men) so i will definently be seeing it. i hope the religious people boycott it with a picket line, then i can go and start my own picket line with the "its fiction morans" (yep, morons spelled with an a, make frontpage on fark with that :D ) sign.
  23. public speaking is one of the most important things for you have to do later in life. you may not learn the stuff in english class, but you learn a ton of it if you take a speech class. i went from not being to good at speeches at the begining of last semester to being able to fairly decently by this point. and it doesnt just help you give speeches, it helps you be more confident in all social points of life.
  24. The Girl Next Door - elisha cuthbert is really, really hot. other than that its just an ordinary teen movie, which means its enertaining, and thats about it. did i mention how hot elisha cuthbert is? Edward Scissorhands - its a tim burton movie, and thats pretty much the best way to describe it. i actually started off not really liking it all that much, but by the end i was thinking it was pretty good. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - based on a comic book by alan moore (v for vendetta). pretty much a generic hero action movie, so it was enertaining.
