1. Paths of Glory - definently not kubricks best movie, but that doesnt mean anything since all of his movies are awesome. this one is short at only 1 hour 26 minutes, with a lot of the time just following people, so it may not seem like it has all that much to it. it does have a lot to it, as well as a good message (basically, war sucks, and so do many people), which is a lot less subtle than in his other movies. if you like war movies, and there is even a court scene for people who like that, then this would be a good movie to see. it kind of reminded me about "a few good men", but the stories are different enough for you to tell that a few good men didnt copy this movie. i really paid attention to this movie because i have to write a 3 page paper over it (movie of my choice dealing with history of the US), and i can say that the over all quality of the movie is great. there is one "jump" for lack of a better word with the camera, and the only actor i didnt think was good was the prosecuting lawyer. and i dont know if it was the actor, or if the court scene needed to be shortened and his part could be shortened easiest. anyways, id recommend this movie to anyone who likes old war movies especially, and anyone who likes kubrick will appreciate it.
2. i wrote out a check. when its only $1,000 for a semester, its not that bad. put my books on my credit card, only about $200. casinos sent me a check for 216, which is a certain amount per credit hour just because i live in the same county.
3. Just find an empty number and write something greedy. Look at other rules for ideas. It's just for fun. its everyone was talking about ferengi and latinum and theres a picture of three weird guys and im was just lost. i think i understand it now, but i wont write any rules because its making greed look bad and i have no problem with greed.
4. am i the only one hopelessly clueless about what is going on?

8. i try not to, but i always end up doing it (to my nephews). making wierd soudns always makes them laugh, i still do stupid stuff like that to my 3 year old nephew, hes going to grow up calling me the crazy uncle (i told him to call me that 8) )
9. really? while the rest of the movie was good (just was aimed at a different demographic than i am in) i was dissapointed in the final battle. it looks like there are the same amount of people (animals, mythical creatures ect...) on both sides. the general casually makes a comment that their numbers greatly out number ours. doesnt even give it the "oh god we are all gonna die" feeling, its like hes holding a conversation with a friend while they are sitting on a couch playing a video game. then i noticed how everything is set up. the bad guys are running up a small slope (a slope none the less) across a big open field. the good guys are hidden by huge rocks, and are on a pretty steep hill, with tons of archers on top of cliff faces. then when the battle starts, the good guys have 50 or so huge birds drop huge boulders onto the enemy, who cant even kill the birds. it just didnt seem all that epic of a battle, if the bad side actually had a noticibly larger number, it might have been better. but yes, overall a decent movie :P Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World - i was actually pretty suprised with this movie. it wasnt great great, like in my top movies great, it just didnt live up to what i thought it would be. i expected a movie that i would start watching, and withing five minutes figure out the rest of the movie (which has happened on great movies before, but thats beside the point), see a lot of mindless action, and generally be bored. but the story actually intrigued me, and i liked how they incorporated the galapagos islands into a lot of the story. the end wasnt anything special, but it was ok, more effort into it than most movies. thinking there is something fishy going on, i checked on imdb, and i checked the director (peter weir), who turns out to have directed the truman show. i wouldnt have connected this to the truman show, except both movies are better than you would expect. anyways, a good watch, and even family friendly.
10. einstein's estimated iq is between 160-180. so i assume your a world class physicist? bill clintons iq was 182, and i dont believe he was all that great of a physist.
11. theres a quote button at the top right of every post, or you could cut and paste what you want to quote, highlight it in the new post you are making, click the quote button so that now it should look like this:
agfadsfasdfadfasd
which looks like this: then to make it say who wrote it, add an =, then surround with quotations:
asdfasdfasdf
which looks like this:

16. awesome, getting a new computer is so much fun :D id have say now that i wouldnt build another computer (too many problems) but my case probably was because im incompetant, so you should be fine. ok, so your budget is 1000 and you want a gaming pc. how much of your old computer are you willing to use for the new one? or are you planning on having two computers? if you dont mind using some of your old parts, it would definently allow you to get more performance out of your dollar. lets say you are going to use parts from your old dell computer. the things you can probably keep: monitor, keyboard, mouse, case, cd drives, hard drive (make sure you back up everything now, you will have to reinstall windows) and modem if its pci. the only things you will need to upgrade will be your motherboard, processor, ram, a new video card, and possibly a new power supply. ill see what other people think of this plan, this is what i did with my computer. ill start looking on newegg at prices.
17. what did you think of casablanca? its probably my favorite straight up romance movie. just got master and comander, i might watch it tonight, id have to start it soon though. lost is on, so ill have to watch half before and half after.

24. definently put it in some sort of stocks or bonds or whatever makes money these days. 5% a year off of 1 million is $50,000, i could definently live off of that. wouldnt quit my job or anything, it would all just be supplementary :D

The why is the USA making plans to make 125 new nuclear bombs by 2022... (http://washingtontimes.com/upi/20060406 ... -4096r.htm) yeah, i saw that article on digg (or was it fark?) the other day. the us isnt disarming at all, they are planning to make more  . or they are disarming the ones that can only level parts of cities, and making ones that can level whole cities.
