  1. Yeah i loved that stuff haha, in the orange can, haven't seen it in ages either, you just reminded me... ah the depression is kicking in!
  2. I recently got a book for my b'day entitled "Do Sheep shrink in the rain? Over 500 of the most outrageous questions ever asked." And this was one of the questions: Q: If you were born blind, do you dream in pictures or sound alone? A: Expert Cecil Adams: "Dreams of the congenitally blind contain no visual elements & consist predominantly of sound plus smell, touch & sense of movement." God knows how you would ever figure that out... It's such a weird concept, not knowing what colours and such are.
  3. Absolutely Incredible book, i couldn't speak more highly of it. Took a good 7 and a half hours to read, not including lunch etc. Really enjoyed, it's easily my favourite as well Faelenof. It delves into some very poignant issues, including discrimination, depression and death, really really really well written ha. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone, but seriously, do your self a favour and read it before someone spoils it for you!
  4. do you not see the steep drop off? if you run it into those shrubs the car is going do a flip, that hill is steep. the tow truck got it out with no damage :) Honestly it seems like you could just roll down without too much of a problem, but maybe the picture is misleading? That's exactly what i would have done, i've been down steeper hills in our 4WD, it's pretty hard to flip a 4WD end over, much easier to roll though. Still, you got your car back undamaged, which is the main thing :P
  5. I get payed the same as eels, 12.50 an hour, i work 8-4:30, have to get my own lunch though :(. I work at Trusty Cases and Boxes, which my uncle started and owns, he makes designs and makes promotional boxes and cases for heaps of companies, well known ones too, he makes heaps of stuff for Nokia, including the boxes for some of their more expensive phones. He has recently expanded into retail to, so expect to see some Trusty boxes in a store near you! (in Australia at least haha) It's a pretty monotonous job, but it's not that boring, we all sit around and chat whilst listening to music and such, oh and making boxes. It's good money, and i should get a better wage now that i'm 16, and as i don't really have to pay for anything yet (board, food etc) i'm free to spend it on what and who ever i like :P
  6. Hot chips (not fries!!!!) of the very crispy and very chicken salty variety. mmmm... all that cholestorol *drools* I also love lasagna and thick spaghetti. Beef ravioli with a tomato sauce hit's the spot as well. Oh and it's not really a meal, but mum get's this double thickness raisin toast from the bakery around the corner, it's amazingly good, bit's of apricot, smothered in melted butter.....
  7. Nice work once again LP, I especially like the patterned one, it reminds me of pacman haha. Great colours and composition. You should try incorporating the heart theme into a photo-manip in some way, don't ask me how, i'm sure you're creative enough to think up another amazing idea :P Faelenof that, and One Love are my favs too RM
  8. This took me a while to figure out too, instead of flipping the whole thing, i know what you mean. Select the desired layer and go: Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal/Vertical Hope that answers the question :) RM
  9. alas, people have become to dependant on technology, and donlt realize that there are less high-tech, but equally (if not more ) effective ways to do things. Stories about buttons on the actual TV, rather than the remote comes to mind, i know several people who didn't even know they existed, my best mates mum left the tele on the same channel for about 6 hours because she lost the remote lol... Great stories, a good laugh haha.
  10. I really should go get my L's tomorrow lol, it's the last day. I've been doing the test, and i've gotten it 100% in the last five goes, and i've read all the questions, but i just came back from a 3 day hiking trip (duke of ed..) and i'm buggered :) Most of the restrictions are good, not for my friend though, the only cars that her family has is two porsches, so she's rather upset about not being able to drive haha.
  11. Happy birthday mate! It was mine last saturday, the 16th, turned 16, if anyone cares :P we should have a b'day sticky, all though we already have a stack of stickies... What are ya getting up 2? EDIT: nvm the last bit lol, you posted before i did.
  12. I have a large sign which reads: "Organised people are just too lazy to look for things" stuck over my desk, which is a massive mess of computer cables, two pairs of half fixed headphones, a disassembled video ipod, a broken printer and a mountain of paper, cd's, mag's, some warhammer stuff... books, drumsticks etc etc etc, but i manage to have room for a mouse, a laptop and a second 22" screen, so i'm quite proud of myself.
  13. [hide] Maybe you should read all the posts first. IQ posts up to my post: [ironic of course] His IQ is 220. 160 wouldn't make him so clever, like he is. Anyways, myn is 177. Didn't even make it below 140. I'd bet $100 on each and every one of these that they're BS and/or overexaggerated. Yes, I'd call BS on yours too, even if you say and actually did take some test (of which I have no knowledge to understand the accuracy of it). 155? No. Just, no. (and don't badger me about saying everyone and you took an online test. Not only was I merely referring to online test to emphasize the sheer inaccuracy of the prior posted IQ's [including yours], but I'm pretty sure you didn't mention that being a real test when I made said post. Ille est, I don't recall seeing the second line of your first post in this thread). Damnit, someone go get her an extra frikking humongous chocolate chip cookie. No, make that two. God that's refreshing to see on this thread. Very cool technique you've got there too, though I'm kind of glad I don't have it o_O. I'd be going over the material during the test instead of before, since it always does a nice WHOOSH over my head the first time I read it #-o . I wouldn't care much for a photographic memory anyways, I just wish I could remember peoples' names #-o . [/hide] [hide] Exactly. I took a test at the tender age of 5, together with a bunch of other tests to see if I'd be intelligent and most importantly mature enough to skip a year at school. They never disclosed any numbers to my parents, or if they did, my parents never disclosed them to me. The psychologists did say that it was highly advisable for me to skip a year or I might get into trouble (I was teaching myself how to read and count), that I would probably do well in school and be able to go to university if all went well. They had no certainties, because no matter how high your IQ is, it's what you do with your brains that counts in the end. Also, having a high IQ isn't necessarily a good thing, but oh well, since everybody likes to brag... I did partake in the National IQ test on television. It was great fun, but those aren't really numbers that count for anything. I scored 141, but then again, the whole of Flanders scored an average of 115. Not very likely, considering the average (100) and their voting behaviour . That same thing happened to me, except when i was eight, because i was performing well at school, and i went to a psychologist and did the test, i had to put together 3d puzzles and answer questions and stuff, which at the time i thought was really boring and stupid, understandably. Mum only told me the score last week, which i swear is 146, i'm not trying to boast about it :? And about einstein, yes, he never took an iq test, but i asked my bio teacher who is head of science at my school, and she said that they estimate that it would have been in the high 160's, if he took a conventional test. In a normal test the time you take effects the score you get, and he had a creative brain, that could work out immense problems, but not quickly, (this is rather dumbed down as to how she explained it haha), if he took it without the time he would have gotten around 200 apparently, but as i said it's all guess work. In the end it's not really your IQ that matters, sure it'll help, but your work ethic and attitude towards your studies that will determine whether you are successful in getting a high earning, well respected job. RM [/hide] Reb, care to read my previous post, the last post on page 5, i explain (also the second hidden section). I wouldn't bother lying, what's the point? Your IQ means nothing when it comes to securing a job.

  15. I learnt that the photographer notices if you hold up 5 pairs of drumsticks against your chest in the annual photo for the orchestra. It sucked, i had it all covered, i had two pairs of normal sticks, some blasticks, a pair of my fluro green-that-fade-to-black sticks, and my mate's light up ones. I held them crisscross against my chest, that's ten sticks. It's quite funny, as i usually only play the bass drum/timpani's and crash cymbals for the orchestra, so they didn't suit at all. I think it was when i turned the flashing sticks on that the photographer noticed. It would have been classic, in the year book and everything. Ah well.
  16. Hand it back, end of story. It'll erase any guilty feelings you may have, and you'll probably get to keep it in the end. It is similar, or though not quite to the same degree, but when i was on the bus last week, i was sitting up the back, and the lady next to me stood up to get off. As she was waiting at the doors, i saw a ten dollar note where she was sitting, and i had a mini moral dilemma in my head, and then ran down the bus and handed it to her, but she smiled and thanked me, and said i could keep it. So i was happy i had done the good thing, and i scored 10 bucks out of it. Made my hot chippies all the better tasting. The end. EDIT: || I was originally thinking of this, it's probably the best way to go, although i would show up to the mall security, but without the ipod, and ask if there had been any inquiries. Hahaha Eels i was going to congratulate on becoming an admin, until i checked if it was mod or admin, and i read it, nice one
  17. Happy B'day!! It's mine too \ I'm 16 today, what a great day to be born eh? A very insightful topic, as with all your threads, thanks heaps for sharing your insight into these vast and varied topics :)
  18. Ah it's good, but nothing can beat this: http://www.engadget.com/2004/10/07/the-jet-powered-supermarket-cart/
  19. I got mine tested in year 4 at 146. 182 seems ridiculously high, considering Einstein had an iq of about 160. :?
  20. Haha i just got a $20 itunes gift card for my b'day yesteday from a mate, guess what i'm buying! it's for a good cause :P
  21. It's my B'day in a week and a day! Yippee! If i'm incredibly lucky i'll be getting a 22" Widescreen monitor to use as a second screen, which will be incredibly sexy. Got my B'day party on monday (public holiday) which will be hysterical. Apart from my maths results, life is awesome, mainly because i have an amazingly great bunch of friends. :)
  22. I had a bit of a chat to Cameron Diaz about two weeks ago, at the Australian Premiere of Shrek 3. She arrived on the green carpet just ahead of me, and her seat was like two rows in front of mine, so we walked in together, i went and said hello haha. Asked her how her visit was, to enjoy her stay and good luck with the movie etc. She was really nice actually. Surrounded by about 6 security guards though haha. I was actually in the background of the big photo that they published of her in the Sydney Morning Herald. Thats my only brush with fame. :P
  23. I certainly remember a similar update being suggested aswell, ages and ages ago, most probably in classic. It would certainly be fun if implemented correctly. I believe the old suggestion said that for a week a year, or what ever, the city would be attacked by monsters on certain worlds, and at the end of the week it'd be back to normal, with a reward or something for those who participated.
  24. Ha that always happens to me if i'm singing a song and i'll turn on a radio and it will be playing. I always know when the phone will ring during dinner and things like that lol, it's kinda freaky. :anxious:
