  1. Lunar really needs a tele to the My Arm farming patch. The spell set is supposed to be good for farmers, but there's really no good way to get to that patch on Lunar magic. You can't make Tele Tabs or use a house portal to get there either.
  2. There are many places in Runescape where every little edge that you can get is useful and inventory space is at a premium. Before going pking or fighting the Kalphite Queen (or another boss monster, including the nasty Desert Treasure bosses), you might as well unleash the special on a random low-ish monster in the area and see if you can get a prayer boost. Is it worth the bother? It's only a few seconds- there's plenty of level 20 guards walking around most cities. The Mace can also save a few prayer pots when training on monsters that require constant prayer (Aberrant Specters, for example). Getting 11 prayer points is arguably better than getting four DDS specials.
  3. I don't know any Latin, but I believe that the more common rendering of the phrase in English is "To err is human."
  4. "No honour" is not the antonym of "honour-" an antonym by definition is a single word. Honour's antonym is probably "shame" or "dishonor" (although dishonor has a different connotation). I agree with the article's points completely, however.
  5. You, sir, are on something! :-$ I strongly disagree. Even though the special is powerful, it's not frequent enough to be worth using a weapon that much slower than a shortbow.
  6. Sometimes people have clan/forum events where they build the temple on another world, but World 2 is the only place with a temple constantly built.
  7. There's very little demand and you can't sell them in large quantities. The best thing to do is stay at the hunting spot and release them. You could also sell them to a general store for 40 coins each (or for more at the Rogue's Den store), but that's not really worth the bother. You could keep a few just in case you run into somebody needing one, but there's no way that you'll sell 200.
  8. For pking (or fighting quest/boss monsters)? DDS with whip/d long/d scimitar backup after you use up the specials. For training? D long, whip, or scimitar. You can use the DDS specials to do some extra damage and poison against very big monsters like Metal Dragons that take ages to kill, but it's not used much for training otherwise.
  9. I'm one of the few who voted for Farming as my favorite skill to train. It's easy, profitable, you don't need to click repeatedly, and there's something new to plant every two levels or so. As for skills that need an update... Firemaking more so than any other, in my opinion. The only real use is for quests and Shades of Mort'ton, and a skill should be more versatile than that. There simply isn't enough to do. I'm not sure what could be added, to be honest (and I think that Jagex has been doing an admirable job of making the skill somewhat relevant with the Balloon quest and others), but there's got to be something.
  10. However, you can always sell the ore to other players for 100 each instead. By mining the ore and making it into iron sheets instead of making it into iron knives, you make a 20 gp profit per ore instead of a 200 gp profit. If you buy the ore for both methods, you lose 80 gp per ore making sheets but make a 100 gp profit (not taking into account rings of forging) by making knives. You're comparing apples and oranges. Mining the ore and making sheets is parallel to mining the ore and making knives, not to buying the ore and making knives.
  11. Maybe Jagex is throwing the f2pers a bone and making an all-f2p month. I would not be surprised if that happened. A bit disappointed, perhaps, because there probably won't be anything exciting, but it's within the realm of possibility. However, the similarity of the cabbage-fighting minigame to the Tzhaar Fight Caves makes me doubt that it's very likely.
  12. Actually, it's possible to lure somebody without telling an outright lie. Take this sample lure: Lurer: Want to buy a robin for 2 mil? Victim: Sure! Lurer: Come to Edgeville bridge. Victim: Ok! Now, in a real lure, the victim is probably going to ask "why," and the lurer might lie. However, it's perfectly possible to do a lure without telling a falsehood at all. Deceiving and misleading, certainly. Not necessarily lying.
  13. Watch the reward be a way to avoid the maze when Chaos Runecrafting. Meh. Seems like a fun quest anyway.
  14. Well, when there is an update it usually brightens up my Monday. When I don't see one, my reaction is basically "meh." I figure that it's probably more likely that I'll see it in the afternoon (the next time that I check) if we get it on Monday at all. If we don't get it in the afternoon, I give a small sigh and move on. There's always Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
  15. Agility, without question. When I get most skills to 99, I stop training them and there's no actual point in the 99. Agility, on the other hand, helps me with everything that I do even if I don't train it. I also hate training agility with a passion, so I have no problem about getting it to 99 and never training it again.
  16. They work, but they're very slow and weak. I wouldn't recommend them unless you somehow find a really great safespot that also shelters yours character.
  17. Yes, you can make a 180k profit. That means that if you'd rather get 180k for a quest reward instead of the weapon, you can. So? 180k as a reward for a somewhat long and slightly challenging quest is not unreasonable, even if Jagex has never given out that much cash before. I'm also guessing that you'd get 230k when you alch the anchor as well, but I personally wouldn't risk it.
  18. Recurve bows are an in interesting idea, but what aspects of Teak, Mahogany, and Arctic Pine make them more suitable for that kind of bow than for any other kind?
  19. blood crafting and soul crafting will be released at some point in time because in the abyss there is already portals to go to those alters, they are just not active. but I doubt it will drive up pure essence prices much because even though people use quite a few bloods, the market isnt nearly as big as say, natures. also, the alchers as a group will probably not buy natures at prices much higher then now because they are barely breaking even as it is. Alchers do not actually break even as it is- alching is currently a money-loss operation. People pay more for items to alch than they will get when they alch the item and subtract the price that the natures cost. By the way (to the thread creator), I believe that the word that you meant to say was "matsav."
  20. It's not very much more fun than any other skill, at least in my opinion. At the beginning it's fun to constantly switch hunting spots and try new things, but eventually training it becomes just as repetitive (if slightly more strategic) than almost every other skill in the game. I think that, ideally, in a game like Runescape everything should be "fun." When skilling becomes the same thing over and over again, it seems to me like a waste of time- making skilling fun should be the primary goal of the game. Had Barbarian Assault offered exp rewards- collecter for herblore, attacker for combat, defender for hunter, etc., the minigame would be much better because it would be a way to train that is actually enjoyable. The exp does not need to be sickening or even better than regularly powertraining the skill (although the lack of monetary profit could be a balancing factor), but more people would definitely play Barbarian Assault and runescape would be a better game. I like the sq'irk minigame because it's fun, addicting, and is a decent way to train thieving in the summer garden. Hopefully, the fishing trawler update this month will make that minigame a more effective way to train while actually having a good time. Fun should not be sacrificed for efficient training- the point of RS is that they should go hand-in-hand. People play games for fun, not to click on the same thing 5,000 times.
  21. Excellent guide. Just two suggestions: 1. Discuss the best way to sell various potions for maximum profit in the training section (profit is possible if you sell for good prices). 2. Add a small section on farming as a way to gather herbs.
  22. Hebrew has the same problems as Dutch- most native speakers also speak English. The alphabet and different keyboard set-up might be irritating to configure as well.
  23. You can level up any skill at Tears of Guthix without actually training it. You could also argue that at Trouble Breweing you're not necessarily "training" all of the skills in which you get exp. You can play a game without lighting a single fire or crafting a single item, but you still get firemaking and crafting exp.
  24. The spot on Death Plateau is not practical if you're below level 70 ranged. I hit a lot of 0s, at least when I did it, and the drops won't even come close to matching the cost of the cannonballs (dagannoths usually drop enough herb seeds that you can break even if you grow them). I think that even level 70 might be too low, but I'm not sure at what point you start hitting consistently. The yaks seem quite good for training, though. Unlike Rock Crabs, you don't need to move when fighting them- they keep coming to you. They're also easier to get to than bandits and far less likely to do significant damage. They're got quite a bit of hp for their level as well.
