An odd idea in the shower this morning...
There are 3 things I see wrong with the "If they annoy you, leave" mentality. First, I'm not the jerk, why should I have to leave? Second, just because he's not bothering you doesn't mean he stops. Third, it is kind of hard to ignore someone intentionally killing you while working intently for that gold CW armor or to be that Fight Pits champion. We should get an option to stun someone OUTSIDE of wildy for a couple seconds, and if that person was stunned repeatedly by more than 5 people, he'd be ported to some random place similar to the Sandwich Lady random. This should be available in CW, so we can deal with little pissants like that. Probably shouldn't be able to beat up someone while they're fighting or have a minute prior. Support for the "beat up" option!

Stravagian Island!! (With High Quality Photoship pics!!!!!)
This is a well thought out post! True, the suggestion reeks of Pirates of the Carribean, but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. This could be modified to be a very good mid-high level quest! 8/10  :

Sit on a bench?
Maybe have it to where run energy regenerates 2x faster while sitting and health 1.5x faster (can be used with the hp regen prayer), but it takes like 2-3 seconds to get up. should be interesting ;)

Save Attack-style Settings!
This is one of those ideas that should have been there allready. Thanks for suggesting it! : \

~Delete Alchemy Spells - Save RS~
People, don't be TOO harsh on this dude. It's obvious that he hasn't been in rs that long. Lets just lock this and be done with it, allright? I think enough has been said to prove this dude wrong. But, Reason and Responsibility are compelling me right now, so read what I'm about to type. Yes, I am a combat 73 or less f2per. Yes, I am 51 magic. No, I cannot use High Alchemy. This is just to cover my arse from what I'm about to say. What you are wanting done, no matter how well-intended it was supposed to be, would cause near-irrevocable damage to the welfare of the Runescape community, and in turn JagEx. As has been said before, you should probably try learning a little about Economics, or have someone explain it to you. While the closest I have personally come to an Economics book is a Highschool level Law book, I know how the general population think and can think quite logically, which in this day and age, seems to be in short supply. But that's another topic, let's keep on track. One argument you seem to be making is that the Alchemy spells is not real magic. One rebuttle to this would be that magic is not real, but this is a game. Keeping that in mind, conceivably magic in this game world could be whatever the creator of the same wants it to be. If this includes the instantaneous turning of random items into gold pieces, the standard currency of the game, then so be it. Another is that Alchemy hurts the market by adding money too quickly to the market. While if unchecked, this would be true, there's one major flaw in your arguement. It isn't. Let's look at some of the math to prove this, shall we? Let's take for example, a Steel Platebody. High Alchemy price: 1200 gp Steel Bars needed: 5 Average price of Steel Bars: 600 gp Average price of Nature Runes: 300 gp 600*5+300=3300 gp (the cost of all the materials) The person wanting fast and easy Smithing and Magic exp would be losing 2100 gp an alch, which is by any stretch a large sum of money. Let's do that math for if they have the required coal; Iron needed for 5 Steel Bars: 5 Average price of Iron: 100 gp 100*5+300=800 gp (the cost for all materials exept coal) As shown, this makes for a far less costly way of doing things, even causing a 400 gp profit for the alcher! This however takes considerably more time to do than the first, if you take into account the time needed to get the 10 Coal per Steel Platebody and smelt the bars. For those wanting to train quickly, this option isn't as good as the first. If one were to remove the Alchemy spells, this equation would be changed. Like so; Steel Bars needed: 5 Average price of Steel Bars: 600 gp 5*600=3000 gp If the person just buys their Steel Bars, then this ammounts to 3000 gp per Platebody made. Since the Alchemy spell doesn't come into play, this removes 2 things. First, the Nature Rune cost of 300 gp. Second, and most importantly, the money gained back by casting High Alchemy. This would cause training such things as Smithing and Fletching to become either very costly to train or very slow. This would cause a great deal of strife, as at least (my guess, not official) 60% of all the people that do either use High Alchemy to reduce the cost and time spent on training the same. This is not to even mention people who are combat junkies (such as myself) and the Runecrafters (not so much, but I like to broaden my horizons more than your Average Joe :-w ). Most people who train combat either use the Alchemy spells to save space or pick and choose what they keep from drops, with the former being the preffered choice (more money overall, and the exp in Magic is beneficial to more than just mages :-$ ). Some, such as myself, use combat as a main means of income. Without the Alchemy spells, most of the decent monsters would become money drainers to train on, instead of money makers. This includes such as the Greater/Lesser Demons (which alone would cause insanity in Runescape), Dragons (with the exeption of Iron, Steel, Black and the KBD), and to a certain extent Otherworldly Beings (the dragon drop is too rare). Runecrafters would be affected for one major reason. Only roughly One hundred and eleven thousand people out of millions overall can make the next best thing, Law Runes. This would force roughly 618100 people to make a mad dash for 54 runecrafting in order to be able to make money from Runecrafting again, since Nature Runes are near worthless since a massive ammount of buyers goes *poof* overnight. This would cause all the other runes under Natures on that scale to drop like an anvil on Saturn on the price scale, and also the massive influx of people making Law runes would quickly bring them down as well. As can be seen, this would affect nearly everyone in Runescape adversely. If this, along with previous statements, doesn't get this topic locked, then I will lose all respect for the Tip.It Forum Mods.

What's the story behind your RS name?
I picked ember3579 because I like fire and 3579 is just something I tend to use alot. My new account's name is aleucard because I like Castlevania, Symphony of the Night. A lot of people think Hellsing, though, and I'm tenpted to check out the manga.

Skill Cape Update.
(-) i support, but there are some things that need tweaks. Attack: Gives you a red sword equivalent of a rune long that breaks after 1 minute of combat. maybe give a similar boost as str, but can't be used at the same time as the other cbt capes' effects Strength: Boosts strength to 110, drains at normal stat drain rate. no problems here Defence: Gives you a blue shield the equivalent of a rune kite, breaks after 1 minute of combat. same as attack Ranged: Gives you a green crossbow with the stats of a mage short that has 10 free shots then breaks (hour starts after the bow breaks) same as attack Magic: Unlocks a new spell in the spell book equivalent to fire blast, 10 shots as usual. not all that useful, maybe have it boost damage dealt by spells for 5 mins/hr Prayer: Able to use smite and protect from_____ at once ( one time activate) good, maybe mod to where you can use any 2 "single use" prayers together (these being all protects, smite, redemption, retribution) Runecrafting: Doubles the rune amount (1 time each hour cape used) no problems here Construction: Gives you 25 rooms rather than 20 (only has to be activated once permanently) no problems here, maybe have a tele to your house once an hour too HP: Boosts HP to 110, does NOT drain like normal stats down or up to normal level. almost no problems, but maybe make it to where it just drains 4x as slow, or have the slow drain rate as well as a partial immunity to poison while the cape's worn (reduced chance of poison, damage is dealt 1/2-1/3 as fast) Agility: Opens up a menu with the option to teleport to any of the courses. no problems, but have it where you have to have completed the course at least once to go there Herblore: You make a 4 dose potion rather than 3 - Jonte135 is this permament? if so make it just last for 10 mins/hr Thieving: No fails at any traps or pickpockets for 10 minutes. Teleports to rogues den (unlimited charges) make it last 3-5 mins, few people really need it for THAT long Crafting: Spawns any crafting tool (can be used more than once an hour) - credit to Voldmort0 for the idea. Also teleports to crafting guild (unlimited charge) no problems here Fletching: Arrows do 10% more damaged, arrows made by a 99 fletcher are marked by a (f) not exactly good for economy ;) just think of how many fletch macroers we'll get from this. how about we just get 10% more arrow shafts/unstrung bows/cbow limbs than normal? Slayer: Black mask effect on all slayer monsters while wearing a black mask (permanent effect) overpowered, make it last 5 mins/hr Hunter: Spawn any trap out of nowhere. this isnt that good, make it where you can get the materials for one trap once/hr Mining: Spawns a pickaxe equivalent to rune, can be used to mine 10 ores then it breaks. Teleports to mining guild ( UC) make it where ores are instead mined 4x as fast 3 mins/hr Smithing: Spawns a anvil (if you walk away from it, it dissapears) or make it where you get 5% more bars when you smith, 10% more with blast furnace Fishing: Spawns a harpoon, lobster pot or any net, breaks after 20 fish caught. Teleports to fishing guild (UC) see mining Cooking: Spawns a mini range in front of you if you walk away it dissapears - chams10 Teleports to cooking guild (UC) or, as someone else said, a reduced cooking gloves effect on all food, stackable w/ the gloves Firemaking: Spawns a silver tinderbox, 10 log burns then it breaks (fire lasts 2x as long) not all that good, but what else IS there for fm? Woodcutting: See mining but with an axe. see mining :P Farming: Gives 20% more crops when picked - credit to Sir_Erderik is this a permament effect? if so, have it last 5 mins/hr & stackable with enchanted secatuers Quest: When operating it (can be used as much as you want in an hour) you can teleport to either, TzHaar, Pest control, Relleka, shilo village, burthope, taverly or the grand tree. After 10 uses has to be recharged for 1k by the WOM no big problems here

A fair way of solving the f2p bank space problem
this still doesnt solve the bank space problem :boohoo:  i got almost no space in my bank and i have a dislike of random clothes. i let diango hold the holiday stoofs ;) we still need more bank space. there's a good topic on f2p bank space somewhere on this forum section, go flame on that if you think we dont need it :P

Time Played
an addition to that would be to show when the account was created, giving an actual D-O-B for the account. there's no way that this info is not recorded, given the prevalence of macroers and the like. and it should be showable similar to how private chat is. you can have it set to public, friends only, you only for example. anyway, good suggestion for us uuber n33bs who like rs a bit TOO much \ :-w

these weapons need boosts
in all honesty, i think that the d spear is severely nerfed for no apparent reason. it may be able to use all attack types (stab, slash, crush) but still. it is painfully weak, and all the spec does is shove the opponent back a square and a bind effect (5 second stun), no damage. practically the ONLY use for that is to run or for pking with like 5+ other people, and that is dangerous (the spear with s poison is around 200-250k, and it is practically the only one that sees use anyway).

The Great Escape, high level armours and coal mine
Nicely done, very well-thought out. There is a couple problems though. Firstly, there's the problem of the armor's power. It dwarf's (no pun intended :anxious: ) the barrows armor by roughly 10-30% easily, and without needing periodical repairs to boot! This armor needs to be toned down a little, and if it still is stronger than barrows, then have it degrade in a similar way, but faster. Secondly, there's the dragonspeak amulet. Just what uses would it really have outside of some new random quest? The ghostspeak amulet doesn't get a new use after Restless Ghost until you get mem and are able to survive the trip to Phasmastys! I don't know about you, but I am not too keen on working so hard for something like that. Problems aside, it is a very good idea. Jagex may tone some parts down to cover their butts from overbearing parents, but otherwise an 8/10. :

ELEMENTAL SWORDS
i personally would prefer if every element were available (they being air, water, earth, fire, ice, thunder, light, and darkness) and all classes had access to these elements (bows and staffs become enchantable this way (with staffs, spells using the same element are magnified in power, and spells using opposing elements are reduced in power (if an enchantment is placed on a staff with a corresponding orb (fire enchantment on fire staff for example) it amplifies the abilities of the enchantment, as well as weaknesses))). it would beg a new spellbook for use with these additions, with the higher level spells needing a specific enchantment or combination of them to perform. well, that was complicated :-# hopefully you get what im saying

The monster ring, A new ring for both F2P and P2P! On RSOF
maybe have it where when you kill the monster your ring's targeting, instead of the normal death animation, it gets sucked into the ring kinda like in the first part of Hellboy where the dude gets sucked into the tiny hole (NOT THAT ONE!!!!! ). that way you can still be mr Jad ;) just imagine, like 15-20 Jads waiting for you when you get off tut island, that would make you crap yourself 5 feet deep in your own feces

FIRE! an idea got to do with weapons
this is an ok idea if you put more thought into it, but theres one nagging question. what about the other elements? just having one is kinda lopsided, dont ya think?

new following options *last update on 5/10/07* 13 supports
i dont think a knowledge of coding language is needed for suggesting things, just a knowledge of the game and its community. and keep in mind that the moment someone says something is impossible (with few exeptions aside from the obvious), that someone is going to prove them wrong. just ask the wright brothers to name 2 people :P

Double Trade No More
this is one of those "Why the f^$@ isn't it in the game already???" suggestions. i support :)

~~Lock For King Daggs~~
i personally think it would be alot better if they done that similar to the pc launch thingy. once a new person comes in, the other players have 1-2 mins to get in there or they wont be in with that person. may take up bandwith, but it would help.

Improved Houses.
if you DON'T think this is a needed update, then you obviously haven't hosted a house party/went to one. jagex, take notice of this idea!

.: Check and Compare Items!!! :. 40+ Supporters. 1k+ Views.
good idea, this could be adapted to coincide with another idea on these forums (THIS is said topic, check what i posted on page 2 for my spin on it) which would allow for some interesting opportunities. would we be allowed to compare with something that is being traded to us? it would bang out one of the major problems with that other idea, as well as be an assurance of what we're getting. (be able to compare in 2nd trade window too)

What runescape as an MMO truely needs.
thank GOD, SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS HOW THIS STUFF WORKS!!! : if you could post on some other topics, that would be brilliant. thanks!

Birds eggs, the suggestion! (Still no current use!) Comments
not too bad, although they seem a TAD overpowered. they really need more colors for bird eggs . oh and what the hell is a "luleeluraah"? :-k

Deposit Box New Idea
this would also make hacker's/macroer's/etc. lives easier if they could transfer items from one account to another through this. it completely eliminates the need to drop trade, as you don't need to switch immediately from one account to another. imagine what could happen thanks to this, then tell me wether it's worth it.

Customizable Armour/Weapons (revamped )
Let me put my spin on this if you will. (this is f2p for most upgrades, but past some point it becomes p2p) It acts as an extension of crafting (imo the closest to art :P ), smithing (for a decent sum of the upgrades), and magic (for some of the upgrades). Herblore can still be used for convenience to make paints and such to draw on the armor, but Aggie (the Draynor witch) is capable of making most color types and shades (with the proper items and gp, can't do all of the shades). Dyes made with herblore (including the herblore only stuff) is usable and tradable in f2p (same as pure ess), so as to make for a new cash crop for members. I don't have much problem with the original idea of how the painting is added, with the addition of needing SOME materials if you plan on making certain visual modifications (if you wanna add on the shoulders, legs, helm, etc. you need some wool balls, cloth, or other items detailed by Aggie). In order to make the modifications to stats however, certain things deserve to be changed. One, higher level does increase the probability of not destroying the equipment in much the same way higher cooking means less burnt food. Second, higher ammounts of modifications mean a higher fail rate, with some just slightly damaging the armor (fixable with a bar of that metal) depending on the power of that addition. Third, only items of the same or lower metal/hide type/level (mystic can only be upgraded by someone wielding a mystic staff, but that mystic staff can be used to magically upgrade a lower powered armor for example) can be added. In order to start the process, you must first find the location of the proper station for upgrading your armor (for melee equipment & some weapon upgrades of other types, this is at a special smithy, ranger equipment is at a taxidermy, & mage equipment at an (at first glance) abandoned tower). Once they make it there, they need to provide the materials needed for the upgrade (there's a bank available for those who have upgraded multiple times at that station, & a book detailing the different upgrade classes). Once they have decided what they want to upgrade, they can start the process. The first step is creating the base materials for the upgrade. For the smithy, this means using their bars to smith the separate parts for the upgrade required (sometimes may use outside materials). For the taxidermy, this means crafting the various parts to the upgrade using what they have. For the tower, this means obtaining the proper book from the tower, the runes needed (detailed in the book), and some sort of focus for the enhancing spell (this focus is the actual upgrade item). The second step would be to assemble the upgrade. This is connecting the different parts together, casting the enhancement spell, &/or tanning the item. At this point, the item can either be further upgraded using the possibilities detailed in a book on that upgrade type or of your own invention (these are predetermined, stationary mods that have various effects and visual modifications that may or may not completely alter what the item was intended as). This makes for a possibility of the item in question to become useless depending on what you do to it, so be careful. If this happens, you can take the pile of scrap to someone at that station to recover a portion of the materials used. The final step would be to add the upgrade to the armor. When you use the armor piece in question on a special item in the proper station with required items (upgrade, hammer (maybe nails too for some things), needle & thread, etc.) in your inventory, a menu shows up with an enlarged picture of the item showing all the open areas that piece can have upgrades put. Some upgrades have varying effects depending on where they're put, so don't be suprised if the stat modification is greater (or lesser) than expected. Most of the upgrades are irremovable, so a choice will pop up asking if you're sure you want to put the upgrade there. There are multiple types of upgrades, as mentioned multiple times before. These are power boost, defense boost (lowers ammount of damage taken), accuracy boost, dodging boost (lowers chance of getting a hit landed on you), speed boost (how rapid you attack), attacking armor upgrades (see next paragraph), or a combination of them. It is possible for an upgrade to have more than one type of boost, but this lowers the degree of the boost from if it were specialized. Compatible boosts (defense and dodging for example) have a lower reduction than normal, while conflicting boosts (strength and defense for example) have a higher reduction. At most, an upgrade can use 3 boost types. It is possible to improve on these however, as long as it doesn't branch into more than 3 types. It is also possible to make upgrades that allow for attacks to be launched on your opponent using the armor. Most of these are special attacks as well as a possibility of the opponent to have a sort of ring of recoil effect done on them (higher quality materials, greater chance of this occuring and more damage done). These can include [bleep]es on the armor, built-in claws (weaker than the real thing, like a shorter version of Wolverine's), blades attatched to the bottom of robes (for mages), metal attachments on the ends of a bow (for rangers), or something else. These attatchments could allow for a special attack when the current weapon doesn't have one (the [bleep]e armor gives a tackle, the robe blades a curcular multihit attack, etc.) or the use of the armor as weapons. These will not be better than actual weapons on their own, but do provide a good alternative to just running from a fight because of lack of ammo or being overwhelmed. Thus far, this is all i can think of. If you like it, please tell me. Thanks!
