What would Runescape gp look like up close?
Central bank of Gielenor To me all the banks in the entire world are linked. I can access my same account whether I'm in canifis or yanille so why would there be different symbols for different regions if all the coins are equally accepted everywhere. Banks don't produce coins, only players through alching, shops (and it can be argued that shops make money from players as well), certain npcs (like quest rewards etc) and monsters. So does money dropped by lesser demons in karamja look different from those dropped by lessers in the wildy? That doesn't make sense to me. Then again, its just a game...

Farewell to rune runners (not that I'll miss them...)
I've been a runescaper for quite a while, and I've seen a lot of changes in the game, some good, some bad, all in all I don't rant because the game is still awesome. I've been members and f2p and back, so I try to keep a balanced view of the updates as it affects the game across the board. I appreciate this game a lot because of the multitude of non-combat attributes you can develop. Most rpgs just let you tweak your str, int and dex, and that's about it. Runescape blows these out of the water as it appeals to fighters as well as skillers. Personally, I love to train my skills, in fact, since I got 70+ in all my combat skills (except prayer) I've ceased hunting completely. Also, I've cancelled my membership for some time now since I don't play regularly anymore. (For anybody who wants to go to f2p without worrying about getting rid of your members items for bank space, check out the guide in my sig) Runecrafting is one of the skills that is a big deal to me. Ess changes and rune price changes impact my game a lot. Thankfully, the community, not jagex, created a system that in my view positively affected runecrafting more than anything else: rune running. World 16 was established as the world for running airs for cash, and world 66 for law runes. It took jagex more than a year to see the sense in designating worlds for activities that required large groups of players working together. I have a fairly high rc level, much thanks to these runners constantly providing ess for me to bind, in exchange for my notes and cash. And in the early stages of the system I was happy to pay them, because crafting 125 runes for every 2k I paid made me a huge profit. Then came the 2 updates that crushed my means of income: the shop update that made bargain hunting impossible, and the introduction of pure ess that caused all ess prices to skyrocket. Today, with ess at 40gp+ and airs less than 13gp, paying air runners will drain your financial resources quickly. Enter the two sweetest updates for runecafters ever: fist of guthix and grand orb project for f2p!!! Either one of these updates alone would give us a huge advantage in advancing runecrafting. Combined, f2p has been blessed with the best way to level up runecrafting in the game, as far as I know. The runecrafting gloves allow us to get more exp crafting water and earth runes for regular ess than members can make crafting bloods from pure ess! And with the new teleport tablets, we can make trips to any altar and back to the bank almost twice as fast using the abyss and glories (which only can be used 4 times, tablets and laws can be stacked with no limit). And the best part about it, for me in particular, no paying runners!! Laws cost around 320, a massive discount from the runner payment. I will admit that using runners is still faster than teleporting, and for those who can afford to lose the cash for fast exp, its the way to go. But without a doubt the runecrafting skill is better now, its easier and will most likely attract more people to get into it, which is jagex's intention. I'm interested in the effect this will have on related prices as well. So sorry runners if your services are no longer neede. It was surely fun while it lasted but change is constant. And thank you jagex for making life as a runecrafter a little easier.

Smithing is obsolete.
actually, no. selling items to players does not increase the amount of gp in circulation and does not affect inflation. the biggest impact of the updates on smithing, imo, is blast furnace smithing. the technique involved selling your ores to the shop, then buying them back to unnote them. the cost was low enough to make the business profitable, but not anymore, because the cost difference in buying and selling is too huge. the only way to make the blast furnace usable is to make trips from the bank to the furnace and back the other thing is the grand exchange controlling prices. right now you can get rune plates for around 41k (i just bought 2) so it will be a while for you to expect to get anywhere near 80k for them as it is, the best way to smith is still (and probably will always be) goldsmithing with gauntlets, and the best source of gold ore i know of is between a rock the shop price update totally ruined the game for me. actually, i wouldnt say it ruined the game, but more it took away my biggest advantage. i just have to find a way to adapt.

~ Best Ways to Train Skills? ~
smelting gold ore with gauntlets is faster than steel plates. mith plates is faster than steel, i assume

Back to F2P what i do???
if you dont plan out what youre gonna do BEFORE you cancel members, then youll be stuck and probably not be able to do anything. in my sig theres my guide on how to go to f2p without losing the ability to do anything at all. you should check it out. i still mine, fish, runecraft, smith, cook, woodcut, and everything else there is to do in f2p, with way more bank space and access to items than the average f2p player. i would strongly suggest you check the guide out

where is the best place to buy runes?
i see that shops sell at a fixed price of 17 gp ea (i'm talking elemental). are all shops throughtout the game the same price? what other sources can people buy runes at lower prices?

how much to pay air runners?
yeah it sucks. i'm paying 1200 to my runners because too many refuse 1100 and i rather get the trades done fast. i figure i can still make a small profit even at this pay rate, its slim but its not a loss, and i'll get to lvl 66 faster (i'm 62 now) if i buy 1k ess at the market place for 25k (which is the going price today), and i have to pay 1200 for every 25 ess i convert, then to craft 1k ess is costing me 25k + (1200x40) = 73k. with 1k ess i can make 6k airs, and if i sell them for at least 13gp each, thats 78k. so a 5k profit for every 1k ess i make and sell. not bad considering with the new GE i can focus on crafting as fast as possible and the trades take care of themselves practically

torag hams or dbaxe
the other bad thing about hammers is its 2 handed. with a one handed weapon you can hold a defender or shield or book or whatever. with 450 k you could buy a dlong (100k), dbaxe (150k), dscimmy(120k) and dds(60k). buy them all and see which ones you like

how much to pay air runners?
i recently started back in rs and i have a short term goal of getting my rc to 66. before the shop update i used to pay runners 2k per load, but now its somewhere between 1k and 1200. do runners accept 1100 as well? or is 1200 the set standard now? i would like to give 1100 but i dont want to waste time if runners refuse that constantly

26 November 2007 - The Grand Exchange
a free economy does not mean that prices will go up. it means that prices will be changed according to demand and supply. sometimes this means that prices will go down, sometimes it means that prices are in equillibrium and will remain stable

opinions on what to do with lots of bronze
i just read up on the GE. awesome update according to reviews, but i havent seen it myself yet anyway, i'm a hardcore smither so ill definitely be hammering the bars into something. and the cost/profit is not relevant, if i make any money its all profit, but i rather train skills anyway i think knives is by far the best choice, but ill still check out the GE when i can before i make my final decision btw, thanks for all the suggestions guys

Jungle CleanUp - Gout Tuber ( It's Christmas Soon...)
i have 2 topaz machettes, never had to trade a gout tuber for it. you only need to do it the gout tuber way to satisfy the diary requirements, but you can get it for 2400 trading sticks (i think) which is easier to get than the tuber

Best way to avoid being pked at abyss?
i'm lvl 92 and i make abyss runs wearing full green, elemental sheild and axe. ectophial in my pack and ess/pouches. lots of ancient and high mage pkers around my lvl lurk near the mage. if you think youre at risk, just run around the other side of the river, you have a 99% chance of getting to the mage safely because pkers mostly stay on the west side of that river

pk hybrid
you can keep def low, go for 60 att and max your str and mage. your range is decent but you wont have an effective ko. with 60 att, even if you dont raise anything else, you could range, the msb spec and switch to dds for dds spec. thats an awesome combo, even if your str is low, even more effective if you raise str to 70+

Disappointing Level 3 Treasure Trails
i never do clues anymore. its way too much work for the rewards. the best thing i got was zammy pages that i sold quickly, but i rather do a million barrows runs in the hopes of a good item than run all over the world doing treasure trails where the odds of getting something good is actually worse than barrows

opinions on what to do with lots of bronze
its down to making lots of knives, or make them all into plates and dump them in the shop. the plates will get rid of them faster, but the knives could give me some decent range xp.... hmmmm.... knives it is

need help on f2p r2h KOing

MOST hitpoints experience (exp) when training Magic?
very nice calculations. i always use fire strike with my hybrid, never thinking about the hp/mage ratio consider this though, fire strike only gives you 195 mage xp and 53.33 hp xp per 10 casts, and since 10 casts of any spell takes just as long, it will take you ages to see your levels go up. higher spells might have lower mage/hp ratios, but you will get that xp at a faster rate. based on your calcs, i'd go with crumble undead. the ratio is better than any other bolt or blast spell, and you get more than twice the xp of fire strike per 10 casts

opinions on what to do with lots of bronze
Yes, I do have a suggestion. make bronse fulls, and sell them for 1-5k ea to members on forums. Darts, arrows and bolts are not worth the cost of the feathers they use, but full bronze is a treasured item. members buy full bronze?? for 1-5k?? that cant be right. bronze is the weakest and most useless metal in the game. nobody buys full bronze, i rather give them away anyway. i might make them into knives but they dont sell too good and i dont like to use them myself. arrows is way too much work and feathers. what else is bronze good for?

opinions on what to do with lots of bronze
usually i collect tin and copper ore from minotaurs, which is the main training spot for my pure. now i've collected over 2k bronze bars, and i dont know what to make them into. i could make a bunch of arrows or darts, or i could make full bronze sets and give them away (although i tried that once and i just frustrated myself cos noobs are so greedy and ungrateful). i'm think the fastest way to get rid of them is just make a bunch of plates and dump them in the shop. profits is not really a factor, but id like to make them into something useful. any suggestions? thanks :-k :?
