  1. Was that directed towards me? After re-reading your post I don't believe you are calling me weak-minded but referring to Reb's post. It was originally meant for you but now I realise the only person who actually referred to me being weak-minded was in fact Reb. Someone who I considered a dear friend... :( That was totally a low-blow Reb... really it was.
  2. Feel free to believe my beliefs are weak-minded but I am not weak-minded thanks very much. That is uncalled for.
  3. That particular post was addressed to l0rd stating that I believe in being open to possibilities. If you want to participate in the actual thread discussion, try reading back a few pages and commenting on those posts. Oh, and nice to see you too even if you are crabbier than usual 8-)
  4. Hi there I am looking to speak with forum users who create their own electronic music on their computers. I would like to know information such as what programs you use, personal experience, advice, what your experiences have been in clubs if you've had that sort of opportunity, helpful tips, books titles about publication etc My fiance' is looking for a career change and is looking to start in electronic music and dj in clubs/try his hardest to send his work out to record companies depending on how good he gets. I support his goals/dreams/ambitions and hope to help him out as much as I possibly can. I have contacts that will get him in to the industry (not make him famous but get him well known in Brisbane's best dance clubs etc), but before I go talking to them I'd like him to get to a certain level so I don't waste their time.
  5. Good & I hope they get a good law person for the sue too should they choose to go that way. I'd argue in their defense that the school principal claimed they had done it before, therefore it was intentional. I would also argue that a school principal should already be educated on the rights and wrongs of school policy where the law is concerned. And that a reasonable person would know this was wrong or at least look in to the situation before proceeding with the search, ruling out intention.
  6. The product name is "Fenthion Dust" (Fenthion being the active constituent) for the little bastards that don't die (roaches like German cockroaches). It depends which type of roach species is in your couch as to whether roach bombing will be a waste of time or not.

    Today...

I'm not an electronic composer (I compose folk music/experimental music/progressive folk rock mainly), but I can tell this much: Practice. Practice and practice and practice until you get a real feel for what you're doing. Also, use the Internet to an advantage. If your husband is going to be creating electronic dance stuff, when he feels that he has made something that he believes other people would enjoy listening to, he should circulate it around the Internet. As for software to use and stuff, there's Cubase, FL Studio, and a few others I'm forgetting right now. As for today, well, the good ol' chronic depression hit again a couple of hours ago. I feel a little better now, but not much. Considering sleeping if I can. Otherwise, I'm just relaxing and listening to music. Thanks for that I'll copy and paste it, send it to our email so he can read it at work. Taurine is fantastic for depression... If you have mood swings (depression, anxiety etc) drink a can of red bull, it'll give you wings. That is genuine advice too. Or invest in fish oil capsules (at least 1000mg).
  8. OH NOES, I have excited Godzilla Goddess! You will pay...
  9. The problem can't really be pin-pointed unless you specifically sit down with your parents and ask what it's all about. It may be a trust issue (which I can honestly say - I don't know any parent personally who hasn't gone through this with their teenager on at least one occasion for some reason or another) or your parents simply may be picky with their personal belongings. That doesn't necessarily come down to trust, it comes down to preference. For example, I trusted my ex house-mate with my computer as she was computer literate but she still made a harmless mistake. She downloaded something that she needed for her game (that active sound control one) which turned out to be a virus. It ended up crashing my hard drive, now the fact was that I still trusted her with my computer but I still restricted access. It was still my computer, she still had my trust but I preferred her to get her own computer so that if anything went wrong with it, no one was to blame but myself.
  10. Hmm that may be it! Thanks matey I might have to read up on that some more later on.

    Today...

Woke up, changed a crappy nappy, went shopping to buy bread and a few things to make a home-made potato bake for dinner tonight, printed out some flyers for another business, ordered some costumes from overseas for a different business, sold some britney spears perfume (curious), did some house work, put my son down for his late morning sleep, came on here, had a good conversation with l0rd so I'm still here :wall: and I thought I was over this place... Now I have free time to do tarot readings fun fun. Who wants a reading? I'd really love to make a thread and just do heaps of tarot readings for fun but I'm too scared of the negative bs people would post on it "that isn't real!" well ffs some people like to have fun with those things lol Oh I also have a question, does anyone make their own music here on their computer? Music kind of like techno/dance or has experience doing gigs in clubs? My fiance' is making a career change and instead of him giving advice about the army yadda yadda, he now needs advice. Thanks very much my lovely's
  12. Beauttttttttiiiiiiiiiiiiful skin Barihawk every time you post I keep seeing paperclip's drawing of you as a penguin in a dinner suit
  13. Once upon a time the masses laughed at the possibilities of the world being anything other than flat. I am always open to possibilities :D Even the possibility that one day your theory could indeed be proven. A bit like the law of attraction, I don't care if science can't prove it but my bank account can. Why would I stop doing something that consistently brings me abundance? If keeping a piece of crystal on top of a $100.00 note kept bringing you money would you do it, despite the ridiculous looks people gave you? Hell, I'd stand on one leg and sing Brittney spears songs! I swear I heard somewhere that they can create emotions in robots now... or was I just dreaming? :? Hmm anyway this is getting really offtopic now... I swear you gave me some mental stimulation to remind me of why I liked coming here... what have you done! LOL
  14. Exactly! And that's what I'm so excited about. Who's to say energy doesn't perceive without consciousness if a living creature is capable of doing so? I really hope there is more information around soon!
  15. Psychological explanations are not enough to justify your argument. Statements generally aren't used when something hasn't been proven, opinions are.
  16. L0rd and I are talking about much deeper things here besides food and eating off rotten flesh. As amusing as that sounds after a sudden hit of taurine.. So back to you L0rd... So you're saying that we share the same energy ideology; however, you believe that particular mass has no consciousness, therefore will experience nothingness? I guess that is kind of like a box jellyfish, it has no brain yet it exists and has the capacity to kill. What I was talking about is the actual existence, in that concept, there is no such thing as nothingness. However, if we are talking about the existence experiencing nothingness, I am still researching as I don't think that one has actually been proven yet, it's still theoretical. Something I do find highly fascinating though is how the box jellyfish has 4 eyes and can process what it sees, yet has no consciousness. How can it process what it sees if it has no brain? Hmmmmm this is where it gets interesting.
  17. Well not really you said that consciousness isn't physical, I say that it is. Either way, it just proves that there is no such thing as "nothingness" after death. Which (once again) is why I technically voted "other."
  18. Hi it seems to me that the pest control guy isn't very qualified. It would depend on what kind of roaches to the kind of chemical he is using. Sometimes they will even need to come back 2 or 3 times to stop the infestation. For example, German cockroaches are extremely hard to kill and cannot be killed using the same chemicals that are used for 'every day' cockroaches. You may even have to throw away the couch, or pay the guy to use something strong to spray that kills all of them in the nest.
  19. I still stand with the neuroscientists & physicians with energy being everything; that perceived emotions & consciousness such as memories, ambitions, sadness, happy, your own sense of identity, free will are in fact no more than the behaviour of assembling nerve cells & associated molecules :P
  20. If everything is made of energy, that includes consciousness dear. It vibrates at a certain frequency which allows perception. Technically, I voted "other".
  21. All the more reason to get a summer part/time job  Plenty of places hire juniors for the summer time. Plus, with the extra money not only could he buy a computer but he could have the cash to do much more exciting things than playing games on the pc
  22. There is no such thing as "nothing at all" even a brick wall that once stood solid is still something when it is demolished. I'm not claiming there is life after death or reincarnation but I am claiming that once the physical self is dead, you will still be energy in the eye's of physics. Just in response to all those 'blind' at the very beginning. The question is, if energy never ceases to exist and everything is made of energy which continuously creates the universe, what part does your energy play? Even if the answer is nothing, you will always be something.
  23. Yes there are ways to restrict certain websites (although many of those programs are useless from first hand experience as well as many loop holes around them depending on the intellectual capacity of the child thinking outside of the box at the time figuring a way around it.) It's just like porn filters really, many ask for hundreds of dollars yet don't block out images titled "[kitty]" etc If the parent simply doesn't want their child to have games on the computer, get over it and buy your own. Many 15 year olds have part time work. Additionally, it's healthier to promote activities away from the computer such as being actively involved in a sports team anyway. Many children lack social skills, self esteem & fitness as it is.
