  1. Given that the advice is being given to someone who hasn't been to glacors before then yes it is hard, it does take a while to get used to them so over complicating things with melee switch which without chaotics and turmoil is arguably not quicker, especially considering that she said she had only 11m to work with so things like claws are out of the question too. Have fun switching all those items at the same time as having the special attack done on you which is often followed by a switch of attack styles too. Titan isn't part of the discussion so why bring it up? If she doesn't have Yak she doesn't have iron or steel titans, once again irrelevant to the topic, along with discussion of rapier and turmoil. If you look at the list of instructions you posted and don't find that complicated or overwhelming when trying to first learn how to kill glacors then I don't know what to say. But here's the list of instructions when fire surging them, all of them you have to do anyway with meleeing. 1) Attack Enduring 2) Attack Sapping 3) Dodge Explosion 4) Attack Enduring 5) One shot Unstable 6) Attack Glacor Anyway, it's entirely pointless arguing over seconds and from my experience of trying both melee and magic I didn't see any difference in speed between meleeing and maging and I'd rather take the method that is simpler at the potential cost of what? A minute a trip at absolute most. Seems stupid to me. Soul Split isn't required at all, unicorn is enough by itself to keep you alive for an entire trip after enough practice. Sure if you have titans it's nice but without it there's really no need.
  2. While switching might not be too hard by itself having to do so while switching prayer and dodging special attacks does make it considerably more-so and somewhere where it's so easy to die. Bringing up stats about things which are completely void to the topic in question (mentioning Turmoil when it's explicity stated that she does not have turmoil) makes your post meangingless and off-topic to this thread. Pretty much all of your figures in your post mean nothing, you mention using things such as defender and void and then argue that switching is easy if you don't change a lot. Make up your mind what you're arguing and make sure it's entirely relevant to the topic and if you're going to use numbers make sure they add up and don't just use them to try and get your point across. Judging from your signature, I've killed more glacors than you have so have significantly more to base it off. I've tried meleeing and found it slower than maging. I've tried multiple set-ups and what I suggested in the topic is what works best for me based on experience.
  3. I can guarantee you that you don't. I can swap weapons, turn autocast off, turn turmoil on, change prayers and still hit the sapping glacyte before he reaches me (all this without using F keys. Once I get used to them, I can probably speed up my time by 20% or so). I usually kill the exploding glacyte as soon as he starts charging the second explosion. Me too with fire surge or at the very latest as he finishes his second explosion. Considering we're discussing it from someone who doesn't have chaotics or turmoil you also have to take note of that which does make a difference. I'm not saying that with those that it's quicker to mage but without them it is.
  4. Melee is significantly slower consdiering you have to change weapons, switch autocast off, change prayers and then switch back. In the time it takes to do that I already have one of the glacites dead. Not to mention that whip is worse at killing them than mage and without chaotics you have no other choice. Then there's the fact that during the switching back you're losing dps time on the glacor which is vital for getting that extra DPS on the glacor when it's unstable. This is even without Arcane Stream, so with that it'd be even quicker with mage to kill them than melee. I can't comment on Storm of Armadyl as I've not used it but really unless it's 2 hitting the glacites I doubt it's worth the inventory space for a place where inventory space is already fairly tight.
  5. Having the exact same things as you (no turm/soul split or chaotics) I can tell you that you'll be fine. I've found the best way to kill them with unicorn is to wear melee armour (I use veracs for prayer bonus), then staff of light with fire surge for your actual damage. There's no need to bring a melee weapon at all as fire surging the glacites gets them down quickly enough. I assume you know the basics of the fight so I won't explain that. Equipment: Melee Armour, whatever you have really. Staff of Light Unholy Book Ring of Wealth Mage or Melee boots, doesn't matter too much. You can try going for mage armour (Ahrims or just mystic) however as soon as I switched to Veracs I was able to survive a lot longer and it's now to the point where I can stay alive with just a unicorn and need no brews for a trip (which lasts until the Unicorn expires). For inventory I would recommend starting with just one overload, about 10 brews, runes for mage, tele tabs, a couple of sharks and rest super restores (drinking brews with overloads does lower your stats temporarily so if you're drinking a lot of them then the restores are vital to get your magic back up before your overload can catch back up). Your first couple of trips probably won't go fantastically as you do need practice to get the hang of the prayer switch, the movement etc. but after those trips start adjusting your inventory as to what you feel you need. Add another overload, take away some brews etc. and go from there. My inventory now is 3 Overloads, 4 brews, a couple of sharks (emergency sharks just in case) and the rest prayer potions. I maybe use one brew per trip average but that's only if I mess up. I would bring more overloads but 3 is enough to last the entire length of a unicorn and as banking is quick there's no point brining more. So yeah, you'll be fine with Unicorn and without soul split, especially if you bring excalibur (I don't bother, I just use the SoL special to reduce damage to the glacites every few kills).
  6. With Monkfish I very usually even get one inventory. Once I even got both rocks before catching a single monkfish.
  7. Seeing as the average is about 1 per 115k slayer xp that doesn't seem bad at all. (This is based on various people's experience, myself included where I've had ~100 effigies from slayer, so a large sample size) The higher level of the monsters generally the higher chance of it dropping one.
  8. http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/stone_of_jas The following dungeons are included in the combat bonus area: God wars dungeon Lava maze (and K.B.D.) Forinthry dungeon Fremennik slayer dungeon Chaos Tunnels (and Bork) Troll Stronghold To activate the bonus, enter the baneore cave. Note that the benefit only lasts for 4 hours and you will be notified in the chat box when the bonus is activated or deactivated.
  9. Congratulations on being able to complain about something that would make absolutely no sense to complain about based on absolutely nothing. I'd lost faith that this topic managed to get so many pages without people saying the update will suck for stupid reasons before they've even happened.
  10. Tower sounds awesome, lets hope it actually provides a difficult challenge to the boss fights. Would love to fight multiple bosses at once for example so hopefully that's an option and would be great if it wasn't just quest monsters because fighting the KQ, Chaos Elemental and KBD at once would be interesting.
  11. You're basing that off of RuneTracker? Seriously? Tezz doesn't bot, and wasn't rolled back? I'm just after having a chat with him now, lets not try and mislead the people 0siris. He's saying that they GAINED ranked despite having no experience thus people higher than them got banned/rolled back. He wasn't accusing anyone of botting. He was misleading no one just making an observation.
  12. Only got Fifa 11 a few months ago now so won't be picking this up right away unless it's available for cheap soon. I don't play it enough to make it worth buying at full price
  13. 400 kills is two tasks (or under) I've got many more tasks without a ring before. All you can do is keep on trying. I'd say that I average one every 250 monsters or so, about 2 every 3 tasks.
  14. Did my 3v3 random placements on my EU account now as well. Apparently I'd played one previously which I'd lost, must have been a long time ago now. Won the first game, lost the second game to DTs after both of my allies had been killed off. (He got DTs in as I was being attackewd and didn't notice my mineral line being dead until after I'd fought off the other 3 and was too late, stupid game as I should have won but oh well). Then won the final 2 games. Got placed in Diamond :o wasn't expecting that but it's great. Constantly scored highest in every single game once again. Was pleased with diamond though even though I know it doesn't mean a whole lot as 3v3 but oh well. I need to actually play 1v1s as I can definitely get into Diamond without too much practice. What's strange is that over the 9 3v3 games I've played as random, not a single one has been zerg (which is my main race) which is even more surprising as to how I got placed in Diamond but not going to complain ;).
  15. Played some random 3v3 last night. Was top of every single game even though my team didn't win all of them. One of them went down to a base race which we could have won. I had my probes and nexus killed but had my tech + a warp prism which I used for DT harass and managed to kill off two of the 3 bases and most of the 3rd. The problem was the terran lifted 3 factories and kept them in the air which is useless with dts so I asked my team mates to give me some minerals, one was mining and the other was out yet he just sat there doing nothing. He had a few hydras so I told him to leave one of the bases to me while he takes out the 3 factories yet he ignores me and continues killing a base I had dead so we ended up losing the base race in the end. Frustrating to say the least as we should have won. Got placed in gold which I guess is about right as I went 3-2.
  16. Jimmy :P Invisible users are displayed with an asterisk next to their names. And only admins can view invisible users - not moderators. My bad, must have been phpbb that it was italic for that :P.
  17. Users who are showing as invisible. As a mod you can see that whereas normal users can't.
  18. Nature runes are part of the dragon med drop "table", at least prior to the RoW update not so sure now but definitely part of the rare drop table, need to slay more to figure that out myself.
  19. WOW! That's too freaky! I am at 41,428 xp/hr! Must be all the Old School Slaying we have done. I too didn't expect mine to be this high, and it has gotten higher then it used to be. Though, I suppose if you count my banked effigies right now that would tip the scales in my favor. ;) (unless you have 41 banked effigies to?!?!? Strange that its 41 to match my 'hourly xp' too...) So close! Brb going to kill some glgacors
  20. 41.4k A lot higher than it was previously and higher than I expected it to be.
  21. I've been having absolutely no trouble just fire surging the glacytes, I usually (90%) of the time kill them all by the time the unstable one is about to explode for the 2nd time so really no time lost. And this is wearing melee gear without a magic boosting necklace. Soul Split isn't needed in my experience either due to the fact that longer trips aren't needed due to close proximity to the bank so with a unicorn you should be able to survive until the unicorn runs out (with a bit of practice anyway) and no other healing needed. Although as you don't have unicorn that's not an option really. But you definitely don't need soul split to be successful there.
  22. That's what I said originally, botting information :P. But I'd much rather they actually improved what they do against bots now rather than publish that data. The data is meaningless if the game is still overrun by bots constantly like it is now so while that information would be nice to have I'd rather have it once their systems are improved to cope with the current number of botters. Action speaks louder than words as they say and that's something which is out of the hands of Community Management. Also there's no way in hell they'd give people's salary, I know I wouldn't want my salary to be public information and I fail to see how that would change anything. I wouldn't ask them for information of payment per employee, but would like it if they gave us a total number. And the point isn't about imporving the game in this thread. It's about improving trust and I think that details is how they'd gain trust. It would definitely a big step forward. To improve trust it's pointless them continuing to say things and then show no action for it. For improve trust within the community then they need to start taking action against things which the community dislikes (that's worded awkwardly and not exactly what I mean but I'm sure you'll understand). To me the only way they can improve their trust is by improving what they do against bots for example amongst other things. It's absolutely 100% pointless for them to start saying numbers about bots when they're still ruining the game. If they say they're banning 100k bots a month, well that's good to know but it doesn't change a thing as I see no indication of that within the game itself so that number may as well be 0. That's my point, it's great if they do share that information but without action to go alongside it it's meaningless and is just Jagex trying to win some brownie points with their players for doing very little.

  24. There's very little they can within Community Management to do that as most of the problems are in other areas of the company, mainly due to bots others due to bugs/glitches and lack of quality content (although to be fair, despite having a poor first half of the year the last two months have been a hell of a lot better). I don't really see how Community Management themselves can do that unless they start publishing more information regarding bots but that'd be useless unless they step up their action against them which is outside their hands. I know how. Details. Jagex is notoriously vague about everything. Start giving us details about everything, except content updates. That'll help a lot. Details about what though? There's not really a whole lot they can talk about that they don't already in some shape that would make a huge difference. I certainly can't think of anything (besides more information on bots as I stated, but that'd be very limited information they could give) Like I said, about everything. Maybe it won't change their actions, but it would certainly change how I view them if I actually knew what was going on over there. I'm tired of the crap we get now that are the same recycled public statements. Give me an example of what they could say more about because I really can't think of anything that would make a difference, at least to me personally. The only thing that could be potentially interesting is content updates which they do often provide things like Developer Diaries for (or whatever they're called) which is nice.
