  1. actually best way to solve this is so not leave the combat ring with low health stay there until u die People could refrain from attacking you and thus you're stuck there until they do or you get bored and risk the escape. I do see the harm in making it so that leaving your house is an instant heal. It just wouldn't seem right and people would find some way to abuse it, besides does it seem realistic that just leaving your house would heal your wounds? I think it'd be nice if they added that in but there is undoubtedly some way that it could be abused (I can't think of a way, but surely there is one).
  2. Very snazzy, you've got an eye for detail there. If that's true then it might be worthwhile to others to keep training Stength to that 100th level :-k
  3. Well you don't see that weapon all too often and there's much intrigue about it. It costs millions and it has a cool special attack so why not enjoy the onlookers? Show them how 1337 you are  .
  4. I'm not going to debate any further, what's said is said and I have really nothing more to say and I'm tired of defending threads and my opinions/ideas. I now say, let this fade into oblivion.
  5. NO! You beat me to it! Bah humbug! Anyone could have gotten the formula if they just looked at the source code of any one of the experience calculators... or did a search for Experience Formula.
  6. Nope, but you actually can name your cats. http://kbase.runescape.com/viewarticle. ... le_id=2580 Ctrl+F for name and you'll be amazed :P Edit: And yes I know what you're actually talking about.
  7. I'm glad you brought this up, Kids aught to be the ones imagining their own worlds and whatnot, that's why I mentioned how I used to be. Did anyone notice how I progressed from full out running around my house to mulling about on my computer? Little Kids are more imaginative. You ask any little kid what he wants to be when he grows up, it could be a Fireman, an Astronaut, anything, the realm of possibilities for that child is limited only by what he's been exposed to. Now look at me, I'm 17 and I want to be a Graphic Designer, what ever happened to the little kid who wanted to be an Astronaut? Did I do research into the career and decided it wasn't for me? No! I grew up which isn't always a good thing, I started looking away from the world of limitless possibilities and more towards reality. But that happened as I got older and was forced down by the world shaping me and moulding me into what I am, it's happened to every one of us but we accept it which I have too. I only used the phrase because it's broad and most people have heard it, it was to get a point across. I play the game, I enjoy the game, I love making coins off of a great trade. But when the day comes and Jagex closes the doors on Runescape (not that it'll happen anytime soon) those coins that you save, and all that work you've done will be gone for good but the fun times you had will still exist. I don't think that anyone who plays for a certain objective (i.e. Coins, Skills, items) is stupid I play for those reasons, there's no other reason why I play the game. I even said that I do not Role Play often in the game. I simply am wondering where did all of the Role players who spoke in Middle English and played as kings and men of mystery go? The reason why I don't conisder it to be Roleplaying when you simply log in and do stuff online is because you're not playing a character, you're simply clicking and advancing levels to try to move up even further. The reason why playing D&D was Roleplaying is because you were forced to use your imagination, to see the landscape that was painted by your Dungeon Master and to see yourself hacking away at a Kobolds head. When your character is no longer you, meaning you have made it's own way of thinking, it's own moral standpoint on issues of the game, then it would be considered Roleplaying. I'm not asking for Runescape to become a complete and total Roleplaying game, then I couldn't have fun just killing monsters for the heck of it. I am simply giving those who had not explored this avenue a chance to experience it even if they did not know how to begin it. To me story telling is a wonderful gift that anyone can use and probably master to their own level. With Runescape as the backdrop for your own adventure you already have a world, races, religions, and all that is involved with a world, now all that is left is the one adventurer that changes it all and affects everything in that world, that adventurer is you if you so desire. Don't Roleplay just because I said so, you don't have to read a single word that I have written, you can forget everything I've put down. I think it'd be better if you decide you want to add another level to the game. If you're happy with the way things are now, great! If you're bored with the game and setting goals is not bringing you back into the game then try making your own story out of this game. I just think that it's important to us all that we create something out of nothing.
  8. Log into Runescape, go to seers village, Ardougne, or Varrock. What do you see and find there? People buying and selling goods, people leveling up their skills, people doing quests, and people chatting. You'll see all of that and it's all a part of the game in which we play. But there's still one part missing. The Role Playing, I mean the acting as a character that actually exists within Runescape who's life is in their own hands as they battle epic beasts and struggle to survive, a person who has solved mysteries, explored worlds unknown to the common man, seen creatures that were buried underneath the sands, and communicated with Gods! Where are these good men and women that put the RP in MMORPG? I myself played Pen and Paper Dungeons and Dragons back in Middle School (a good six or seven years ago) and ever since then have played games that are considered to be RPG's such as Baldurs Gate, Spellcraft:Aspects of Valor, NeverWinter Nights, etc. Not only have I played games that were RPG's but ever since I created my first halfling thief on my parents coffee table before dinner my mind has been filled with glorious events and dangerous foes. I've read fantasy books such as the Sword of Shanara, the Lord of the Rings, and most especially the DragonLance Series. To me Roleplaying games are second nature. When I was younger I would run around my house in my father's bath robe and take out the wooden sword I had gotten from Medieval Times and pretend I was a War Wizard and cast out imaginary Fireballs and Magic Missiles at imaginary undead beings. As time went on I didn't run around in bath robes instead I played with Lego's and had amazing battles of grand proportion set out before me (using only ten or so Lego men). Still I pretended to be a Wizard and as I walked around the house I would still cast out magic spells or ignite a mystical flame around me but only when people weren't around to see me. Following this trend I fell out of playing with Legos as people came by my room and eventually I stopped pretending I was a wizard or a warrior. This was during early High School primarily when I was no longer playind D&D but I was playing Runescape. During High School I never once played D&D. I did play the games I mentioned before. But these games were not played as my own little adventure it was more so a game for me to gain levels and get powerful and take on bigger and badder monsters. I still read the story and it was intriguing but the fighitng was most important to me. This now holds true for Runescape. During RSC I would walk around and tell myself "I am King of these Lands, I must route these fouls monsters that dwell here! Look a house full of these beasts I must go slay them!" But now in RS2 I say "Hey look a Fire Giant, I could use a little bit more XP." I'm not saying that it is a bad thing I just think that it is taking away from the game. The game tells a story, you are a citizen of Runescape, an Adventurer. You stumble across mystical runes and weapons from another dimension almost every day why not have a story about it? I will say that I do not Roleplay in Runescape all too much and probably will not as it is just not my forte anymore. I want skills in the game and that's all I want, I don't know why or how but I know that's what I want. Roleplaying adds a whole other depth to the Runescape world. That way you have three inputs into your game time, your own abilities that you've earned, your own story that you make as you go, and the stories given to you by Jagex and the quests. Runescape can be much more than a power driven skill hunt. To me I think writing your own story of your exploits in Runescape is an amazing way of seeing what you do as something more than just sitting in front of a computer for hours at a time. Just think about how amazing a story of battling Six Undead Brothers with ancient armor that holds magical properties to them would sound on paper. Experience it, expand it, write it! Give your character a conscience about the monsters he kills or a malevelolent lust for power and hatred of all monsters. Make your character into more than just pixels and mouse-clicks controlling it, make it into an extension of yourself or the exact opposite of you. I think you'd enjoy the game more when you've got guidelines to follow. Those of us who have played for a long time know that it is difficult to keep interest in the game when quests that are simple or are very short are released and you've already accomplished so much and thus you set goals to make the game more interesting. Why not play a character for a time being and walk through the worlds of Runescape as a roaming mercanary in search of work or a wizard who is fresh from the wizard tower? Despite your incredible strengths already you could limit yourself in using only the lesser of your equipment and make things more difficult for you. Now Roleplaying will keep the world more interesting as what changes happen can have great effects on a citizen of Runescape, including you, if you deem yourself as a servant of Ardougne and you find that the King si corrupt, what are your actions? Are they to smite every Knight of Ardougne or to continue to serve the King despite your knowledge of his evil deeds? I think that roleplaying in the game is integral in playing the game to it's true calling. The drive for skills and higher combat level is purposeless, it's just pixels after all. The story that you weave in your mind or on paper is something unique and something that can be both fun and a building block for creativity in the future. Roleplaying is important, but it is also important that you experience all of the game, don't slack off on any one skill because it's not what your character would do, if you're really going to roleplay than you should know that it IS all in your mind and gaining some levels in one skill won't affect your character's persona if you don't want it to. Play the game for skills and play it for coins but also play it for the adventure that you make it can be the best one you'll ever know and you won't know until you try it.
  9. Huh? Why were they all there? Some sort of corporate outing in the RS world for mods only? Shouldn't they be out there stopping crime and whatnot  .
  10. That means I need over 500 tickets to get to 75 Strength :( . But those calculations never included XP that you earn during the game. I always love being surprised when I reach the level I want but am 10-50 points short of what I thought I needed.
  11. Sweet! Then I'll definetly be there in half an hour or so :)
  12. I'll try to get over there soon, just making a bunch of Oak planks. Gotta get up to 50 Construction  .
  13. Heh, I was the one baking the cakes  . I had forgotten how to make a cake and had to look at Tip's guide for it. Felt like such a noob
  14. I'll try jumping over in the next few minutes :D
  15. Come on! Stop with all of the Pest Control Clans! The only reason why the Level 90+ group wont let people below 90 in is because they are tagging along with two different clans! If the group started inviting people below 90 then the Clan will no longer let the group tag along and they'll move their world without telling anyone of the group and thus debilitating the group (as they don't have many people dedicated). All of the groups being made are spreading the Pest Control players too thin. If there's a level 70+ clan and a level 85+ group and then a level 90+ group you've got all of these different ranges that are overlapping each other. You're drawing from a dwindling pool here! You can only call on so many high levels, they have to draw their allegiances somewhere. I would advise anyone who's 90+ to join the 90+ group and then those who are below 90 join in with the level 70 group as they would have a wider basis of support. They've got a lot already set up as well. We do NOT need a bunch of Pest Control Groups with nearly the exact same level requirements. Stick to the ones that are already established and if you can't get into one, start leveling up and make it a priority to get into the pest control group. If you cannot even get into the level 70 group then you shouldn't even be playing Pest Control (that does not include the pures who are high-leveled magic and ranged).
  16. MMORPG: Many Men Online Role Playing Girls  . Didn't jagex steal that from Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King where the woman warrior killed the head RingWraithe? Jagex didn't steal it, they parodied it. Besides it couldn't be called stealing because that concept probably came from a Legend/Folklore so it would be Public Domain and thus usable by anyone. Basically just about everyone thinks up the same idea but with a slight twist at one point or another and generally the twist is enough to make it original and cannot be considered stolen by the first person who was to think of it.
  17. The reason why there's a level restriction is because the group wants it to go FAST and according to several people whov'e been there they're saying that they're beating a game a minute which is fast. Now that that criteria has been met they also are looking to be able to get their own group going. As of right now they're tagging along with a couple high level clans. Now we can't be holding onto their coattails for all too long so when enough people show up and sign up they'll have a constant feed of players going and then level restrictions will be dropped and those with high leveled mage or ranged stats would gladly be accepted. Patience, that's all I can ask of you. Wait and you shall be rewarded. You can always try out the other Pest Control groups such as the 80+ group. It's basically the exact same thing but that group, if it doesn't have a great many of players, would need to be well organized to make sure everyone got in. Be patient and spread the word of this group to your higher level friends on Tip and then once it gets big, you'll be glad you waited as the games will go quickly.
  18. There's no real problem with merchanting. I think if people want to mess around with the prices of items then let them. I myself am sort of like the author, I would rather get XP than gold. I also prefer getting my items by my own means. For example I wanted to get Full splitbark so I went down to the Shade temple and started to repair it and do all that is required to get Fine Cloths and whatnot. I got my armor and am happy now, it took a while, but I got it. The only problem with doing things this way is getting things that are too numerous or too difficult to get for yourself. For example, Full Dragon armor. I will probably never, ever go to the Kalphite Queens Lair. Thus I will never get Full Dragon armor (there are other ways, I'm making a point here). Now my problem is that I've gotten a small fortune from burning Shades and yet I don't know what I'm going to spend it on. I despise buying and selling items to other players as it's so tedious in finding a buyer/seller and then transfering worlds and then trading hard earned gold for a single item or a stack of noted goods. How did I benefit? Did any of my levels increse? Did I gain some experience? No, of course not. Getting items from other players is useful at times but I think it's pointless when you can generally get the items for yourself cheaper and generally you'll gain some experience doing it (i.e. instead of buying nats, go make them). The reason why your money defines you is because the majority of players cannot understand that gold is not the most important part of this game. They haven't quite grasped the fact that skills are something permanent while gold is fleeting. All they see is how gold can get things for you, whereas we know that skills can get things for you only if you earn them. The quick reward is better to them rather than the proud achievement of you earning the reward.
  19. But what about to spite Zamorak? Use his son to be the next leader of his armies, it makes sense in an epic storyline. Why not use the fallen Hand of Zamorak as the Servant and Master of Zaros' army? That would make for a good twist and combine the Desert and Elven quests into a single quest which would make it a battle of grand proportion. Although there are many Mahjarrat floating out around there, Lord Draken is said to be one and he's all the way out in Mortanyia so perhaps we won't be seeing the enterance of Zaros until we deal more heavily with the Vampires and whatnot. We know that the Gnomes are dealing with the Dwarves (From the forgetable tale of a Drunken Dwarf... or was it another quest... I seem to have forgotten  ) and it seems like neither the Dwarves or the Gnomes have too much dealings with the Mahjarrat so they're pretty much seperate from the Plague City Series. The Cave Goblins though have ancient ties to the God Wars and therefore could be the city which the kid speaks of. After all why couldn't the Gnomes be passing down legends of ancient creatures of war that were driven into the ground and would one day return to the surface? Anything is possible in the realm of Runescape but we can limit some of the events possible.
  20. spam/10 Personally I think it's just a bluff, or hinting to an old quest, like the underground pass. I'm going to agree with the Bloodveld here (on both cases  ). The Underground Pass is probably what the little Gnome was talking about and I don't think that Iban will be returning unless he is resurrected by Zammorack or Zaros. We are obviously going to be diving further into the powers of the Gods as we've been hinted about the God Wars and more and more Mahjarrat story line as we progress further into the desert.
  21. I do not believe that the Outfit has any special bonuses (although it would be intelligent if it acted like Dragon Armour against creatures not of this plane such as Demons and Abysall creatures, the Void Knights would undoubtedly place extra enchantments on their armours for their purpose). The Mace/Weapon of theirs is the real prize as it can autocast a few useful spells.
  22. Enjoying your stay as a rs2 product? Gotta love those people pretending to have been around this game from the beginning  I never bothered with getting a snelm, snails are... I dunno, I only like the ones without shell on their back. You can't really make a helm out of those though :P How the hell do you know when he started? How the **** are you to say when he started. These silly noobs annoy me.. I got this one 'veld and henk, don't worry about it. Firstly he can tell that he is a RS2 Product from what he said. Rune Ore was NEVER "Purple" for us. The Gower brothers were known to wear Runite armor before it was released to the public. When they wore it, it was purple. When it was released to everyone else it was it's Cyanish color that we all know and love today. Secondly, where do you come off saying anything at all? The majority of the threads you create are things that have already been discussed or there are threads already about it and yet you have in your sig a Search link. Yet you hardly ever use it. You sir, if anyone here is one, the noob. You are the one trying to debate against someone who knows more than you. Don't try it because Bloodveld would have given you a verbal lambasting far more severe than any one you will ever know on these forums. On-Topic: Snelms are very strange, whenever I go by them on my way to the Nature Altar I always wonder why would anyone want to put the shell of an animal on their head.
  23. You can buy all of the pieces from the various shops in F2P Runescape. You will also need to hit the Champions Guild to buy a few piece of Black Armour (I think the legs).
  24. It's the elf city, it's nearby the entrance to the Underground Pass and the well. It's pretty close and when it becomes an open city and you can teleport there and to undoubtedly a bank, Death Craftin/Running will be much easier.
