  1. w00t! Gnomeball games! That's amazing. When I first played Gnomeball I always thought that it would be cool to have actual people there to play the game with! There's only one real problem, that is the fact that each person has a different score, anyone can get a ball, the enemy gnomes on the field. There's a whole slew of extenuating circumstances that could be thought up. If you can do it good job! I would join up but I'm not going to be P2P for too much longer. Good luck and I hope that this takes off!
  2. Honestly! Why don't you just report the post and not post on the thread! Common Sense man!
  3. That's how everyone does it. Because you lose your prayer points when you go down there it's best to bring a bunch of runes and cast out what spells you can. He's not terribly hard and at level 40 you've got Fire Bolt and if you went one more level up you could use Wind Blast! Magic is your best bet I think at least.
  4. Oh! Awesome! Didn't know that! I suppose now even I can make cash down there :D Oh wait no its 65  Sorry about that! You've raised and then destroyed my hopes and aspirations all within minutes  .
  5. Oh! Awesome! Didn't know that! I suppose now even I can make cash down there :D
  6. But you're missing out on the big picture here! The Blast Furnace cuts your need for Coal in Half so instead of two coal for steel you need only one! The blast furnance is really for Power Smithing if you have 65+ smithing which is needed to enter the Anvil Pen (I believe it's 65, not sure) and then smith your bars there and either High Alch them or sell to the general store there (not sure if they have a general store down there). I'd love to join up if I could. I actually was thinking about making a group like SODB but for mini-games instead but I'm off to F2P come September and I'm gone most of August. If you could keep this going and get a dedicated group to work with you and have an organized plan (i.e. People Rotate tasks that way everyone gets a shot at doing something, it would probably be timed by the amount of energy the runner would have. You'd also probably need to have someone who's reliable at the Pressure Gauge and the Pumps) you could really make some money and get lots of smithing experience! Don't let anyone stop you from doing this. When I was working at the Shades I was having a great time! The only real reason why it stopped was because I stopped. Before you commit to the make sure you can spend the time necessary to work on it. Make it a weekly event and you'll see that lots of people will come show up. Now make an official world and you'll have succeeded where I have failed.
  7. Yep! Affliction is pretty awesome. Even when the big guns leave we still have a whole bunch of good people there. Look at my sig for a link.
  8. How is it that everyone beats this quest at those kind of levels! I'm level 90 Combat and I'm nervous to even try the quest! Edit: One piece of advice, train your thieving if you need a brew to do the quest. Whenever you have a requirement that is dependent upon a drink you're better off training to the required level. Otherwise you'll have to buy a drink again everytime it wears off.
  9. Well the only way you could have gotten a Keylogger was from you clicking on one of the ads. You may have clicked one of the double X's on an ad. One X is a fake one on the Ad and the other is the real X to close the window. Some people fall for it either by accident or not knowing any better. Let me tell you, Flash can NOT record your keystrokes for a malevolent purpose. Try this, go to any Flash game that requires the use of keys (Arrow Keys, Num Pad, letters, whatever) and mess around with it for a little bit and then switch to a new window. Use those same buttons you were pressing before while on the first window and after doing so, switch back to that first screen. You'll notice that nothing would have changed (except maybe you've lost the game or something). Flash will not be able to interact with keystrokes or mouse position unless you're still on the same screen with it. And even if RS were to put bad Flash ads on their page, you'd still have to click on it or "mouseOver" it to start the process.
  10. I know I will be playing Runescape for the next couple of years in College. The game is great because you can pick it up wherever you go (so long as you're near a computer with internet access). Other MMORPG's need a CD to run or download large files but Runescape is just a couple clicks away. I've been playing this game for years now (RSC FTW!) and I'm just now reaching points which I wanted to reach when I started the game, I'm 90 combat, I'm going to reach 99 Firemaking within the next year or so, I've reached a level of experience in the game where I'm one of those top dogs and I love to be at that level where you fit into the game extremely well you are neither a newbie nor at the extreme level of being maxed out in a bunch of stats. RS is still growing, and it always will be growing with at least two updates a month the game is constantly changing and most of the time improving despite what certain factions say. The quests are what drive me now. I prefer to level my skills with quests instead of hardcore "I'm going to go chop down some trees and then make them into bows!" and things like that. The training I do actually do is normally for completing a quest or a goal I've set for myself. In five years we'll be seeing a slew of new skills and quests and mini-games all for us and I'll still be here at Tip.it with a 6k Post count with a college degree but still the same fun loving guy who you see before you. Runescape will change and take new form over those years but so long as you're still having fun playing it, why not keep on enjoying it? I may take a break from the game every once in a while (i.e. Exams month or Tax Season) but for the most part I'll be playing F2P while at school, you can always mine ore and essence and then stockpile what ore you have and craft what essence you have (elemental runes are always useful, so why not have months of making them?) and then I can always jump back to Members and enjoy new quests that I've missed and work on my House some more (Because in 5 Years I still won't have 99 Construction) and smithing and the new members skills that will come out. Runescape will not be stopped in five years, they'll make new deals, an animated series on Nickelodeon, Runescape-O's, Runescape PT Cruiser Giveaways, in-game advertising, and so much more that will keep the game both being profitable AND keep a fresh load of F2P turning Member people constantly coming in. Eventually the P2P worlds will be overrun by kids who got their parents credit card numbers but that doesn't mean I'll stop playing, I'll just start cruising these forums more and more often  . That's my two cents.
  11. Is it today? This is a bit early to spring a party on us.
  12. But if you think about it, 666 Pure Essence is actually Free for about half an hour work and I'll bet that it's an overall value and you fall into a range of values and then get a random item to reach that value. Also the fact that if you're going to be doing this mini-game alot it requires a lot of equipment which can be gotten fairly easily but is a hassle to prepare for the game (Getting Protection and food for the NPC, getting the Rod, etc) I think It'd be fun only if you were well prepared beforehand and it wasn't just a whim of an idea to go do it. I'd probably go do it if we could take a group of people with us! That'd be great, have a bunch of friends escorting the person out, facing the dangers of Mortanyia together, matching steel and magic against etheral monstrosities and the undieing flesh of the Vampires! Going with a group would be fun but doing it alone is less intriguing. I'll eventually play the mini-game and decide for myself whether or not I deem it worthy to spend my time on, but for now I'll cast it aside for known rewards of the Shades of Mor'Ton.
  13. Well if your face didn't melt then it's definetly not the Arc of the Covenant. Did you have your eyes closed because that would run into problems with the face melting bit. Imagine if armies against the third reich knew about the arc and just closed their eyes! Der Fuhrer would have been surprised. Speaking of that vile creature in Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail Hitler meets Indiana Jones. Very comical stuff. But anyways.... No face melting=no Arc of the covenant. Besides it was placed in Tanis and then was taken to a top secret warehouse left to rot! You've gotta be on top of your Indiana Jones trivia.
  14. Just go to google video and then type in "Runescape Claymation" and you'll have it. Very short. I wanted more, the animation was good but there could be so much more.
  15. You need to be 13+ to play Runescape because this game has content of a PG-13 movie. There is violence and alcohol present throughout the game and is not to be shown to those less than thirteen. I do not care if there are kids younger than thirteen playing the game so long as they stay on F2P and do not moan on these forums when they get scammed or die on RS. Let them do what they will, it's just another way to show that relying on people to read the Terms and Conditions and being honest when they submit their age to a website is a pointless cause. There needs to be a far better way of checking someones age and we can't do that because it will become Big Brother and few would like that.
  16. 'Veld you may as well just keep playing WoW. You know that'll never happen. I think you're describing your perfect RS World and not a new game  . I think I'd prefer money being hard to get and having only so much gold coins instead of the couple million. The more I have the less it looks like I have meaning if I can have two million gold coins why don't I have ten? I'd rather get a single gold piece once in a while if a single gold piece was worth a great deal sort of like a rare drop. It would be great to have smithing being useful. If it leveled faster as you leveled in combat then you could produce your own armour instead of always being dependent on others to supply you with it. If anything, there aught to be way more magic items and abilities to enchant various trinkets, i.e. smith an iron cage and be able to enchant it with a snare spell. But I've been playing too much NeverWinter Nights so I might be wanting too much :D .
  17. Which is why while being sentenced to F2P you can always spend quality time down in mines! Also you could train lower level Runecrafting by mining Rune Essence and then just making the Elemental Runes. If you make enough you may never need runes again  .
  18. Also if you take down a sword or a Guild Item (i.e. Legends Cape, Glory Amulet) you get those items back. The only sword you can't get back is the Darklight sword as you'd need the blood of that demon again (although, has anyone tried using a dyed silverlight against a regular demon? Might work).
  19. dont you mean malignus? :-k the kbd head definately No. Those who have a rune plate will know that he's called Melzar. Melzars Maze?... Not alot of people go back down there. Apparently he's been updated because in RSC he never "summoned" cabbage. When we hear summoning we think Malignus. No harm, no foul.
  20. Pest Control is a very team-oriented game. I've played the game with only about 10 or so people on the team (LONG time between games) and yet it felt more rewarding, the group of us going after portals were quick to work together knowing that without each other we'd surely fail. I myself am a member of AFFLICTION and am quite happy with the speeds of the game. If I mess up and don't get 50 hits then I Know that I just need to be faster next game.
  21. It depends really on what you're looking for as a reward. If you want rewards of experience then there are loads of those. For those I think that the One Small Favor Quest and various others are best because they give you a lamp that gives a large amount of experience in any skill above level 50.
  22. Yeah, that is pretty funny, belongs in Media Discussion though. You never know, RS may be a third person game one day  .
  23. 300k You said.... WOAH! I think it might be time I invested in that little Island. Putting up a some cash for seeds and whatnot like that might not be too bad. Thanks for the interesting info!
  24. That's just about how I feel when looking at a new MMORPG. I see it and all it's shiny newness and I want it but if it's been out for over a year or so I remember that there are so many other people that are so much higher level than me and I'd have to start off as a newbie again whereas on Runescape I'm already a higher up and I'm still climbing! I can't wait for the day that Runescape shuts it's doors permanently so I can move on! Once the game is fully gone I can say "Well that was a waste of time" and move onto better games that offer more! But that day is far from arriving soon.
  25. LIES! I've been playing Runescape for years now and I genearlly only play at MOST a couple hours every few days. I downloaded the WoW free Trial and I was on it for most of the days! World of Warcraft is extremely addicting, there is just no other game like it! I bet that you'll be playing WoW way more often than you did RS. If I had the money and the free time, I think I'd be playing WoW instead of Runescape, but I can't imagine spending at least $12 a month to play the game! Instead I stick to members during the summer but I can still play the game during school when I'm not paying for it. Guild Wars would also be a good option for it, but I'm so enthralled by WoW that I've decided it's WoW or nothing for a Big time MMORPG. Thus I stick with Runescape. But good luck, godspeed, and try to have fun, remember that Teaming and joining groups make the game all the better (WoW advice). Also don't go Horde! They're EVIL! Alliance FTW!
