Hmm... Maybe you have to do a quest for him? In other words the quests involved with his mini-game. That would include gaining access to Sophanem and Polivneach(?). I know I did the mini-game only after I completed those quests. But if you've got the few quests done then I suppose you should send in a query to Jagex about it. Edit: Heh, we all suggested to do quests. When I clicked to post there were not replies, good stuff. Great minds think alike

AFFLICTION FTW! Yep, that about sums it up. We're just a group of people who hate to lose at Pest Control and we're across the world, and you can generally find a bunch of our guys playing at any time of the day and night. So long as you pull your weight during games we'd be glad to have anyone 90 and up.

The Staff of Iban has to be updateed! I'm really hoping that some Necromancer mage will aid the Guild Mages and create their own charging spot for the Staff of Iban that will just cost money instead of having to go to the underground pass (HUGE pain in the rear!)

Construction being released. That was pretty much the biggest and best update. Good to see another Tip.it'er back in action. We can always use a few more  .

Speaking as an unofficial official representative of Affliction here's what I've got to say. We're in it for the points. Sure we love hanging out with each other and getting together for purely affliction Pest Control time but we're really just in it for the points. We're not a clan, we do not owe our allegiance to any one man. The only thing we could unofficially officially say that we adhere to is the fact that we want PC points and we don't want lower leveled players crashing the PC world. If you're above level 90 then we want you. You don't HAVE to introduce yourself or make yourself "known" to all of the other players. According to a bunch of the higher up's in the group they say we have well over a few hundred members. I know a fraction of them, I have only about ten or so posts on the forums but I'm still playing Pest Control whenever I can and benefiting from joining that group. Just because you don't want to hang out with a "clan" doesn't mean you shouldn't benefit from the overall power of Pest Control, so long as you contribute to the games and pull your weight. You don't have to go to any parties or even converse with all of the members. Go and help out, you'll be really happy that you did. Join Affliction and you'll be rolling in PC points and we are not a clan, just a group os higher leveled people who are working toward the same goal.

"like 20 minutes" can be a very big range. But you're saying he went up 26 Combat levels in that time? That's called a person who knows their way around Runescape.

My Mining Goal 74/99
tefda replied to Spark_Fearow's topic in BlogScape (Ongoing Progress Reports and Goals)
I've got to bump this up a little bit. This has been going on for SOOO long. You've done amazingly I'd have to say, good luck to you! -
Edit: Don't make fun of people for making typos. On-Topic:You can always see if any of These People are online.

He's got a point (no pun intended). If you no-life for a day and play along side Affliction you can get a lot! I think the average for the group is 40points per hour so if you play for ten hours in one day you'll rack up 400 points. But that's if you're extremely dedicated to it and don't go on a losing streak. I'm going to guess Chess played casually during those three days and took it a couple hours at a time. It's not that hard to gain the points and if you're looking for actual training, just be sure to use whichever skill you want to train in during Pest Control and you'll need even less tickets!

Chaos Events Team(CET)Presents:AGILITY ARENA[OVER]
tefda replied to wild_goat_14's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like fun! I love training Agility. I'll try to make it. I'm pretty sure I'll be there. Edit: I would have supported this earlier but I was in Norway :P . Also, because it's my thing, 5PM Est. Seriously, what's so hard about that website? Edit: One more edit, you may want to link to Tip's guide to Agility. Just for good measure I'd say. -
I was a little upset with the speed of the Seaweed respawn at the Fishing Colony. I was hoping for lots more, many people were shouting it's praises but I've got nothing to shout about :(

From a level 79 Firemaker I would suggest an area close to a bank, with TWO lines free from obstruction to the west. Good places that I've used are Draynor Village(sometimes hard to judge at first), the Duel Arena(can get annoying from the Duel challenges), and behind the Al Kharid Palace(very far). Those above are all for if you have logs in your bank. If you're cutting and want to burn then that's a different story. For that it all depends on your type of tree. Let's start off with Willows (If you're training with anything below that, it will take a long, LONG time). Draynor Village is perfect. Chop your wood and then go all the way up to the Prison there(With Prince Ali) and follow the southern fence until you get boxed by it and a tree. There's an Oak tree nearby to let you know that you're in the right spot, also it's a path that will go right along a boulder there. You may have to explore a bit to find it. -Then we have Yews! There are two places to do this. The Yew trees west of Catherby, just chop and burn, the are there is almost completely devoid of flowers or any other kind of blockage. Also you can use the Yew Trees at Rimmington. They are too far from a bank to actually be stored and they are also hard to burn there but I can almost guarantee you if you go there on a members world, there will not be a soul in sight. Also one more is the Gnome Stronghold, it's along the south-eastern fence and it's fairly free of obstructions and there's a magic tree nearby in case you feel up for some extra experience. -Now for my favorites, MAGIC LOGS! Lots of people use the Sorcerer's place near Ardougne and yes it can work, but it's almost always crowded so I tend to go to the Lletya Magic trees by the Roving Elves. It's not the best place to burn them but it's generally less crowded so you can get more of them faster (theoretically). You just need to make about five or six rows of burning logs. There you go! Hopefully at least one bit of that advice will help :D .

I think we need to clear up a few things... Construction (a.k.a. Carpentry) was intended to be in Runescape since Classic! The reason why the original name was changed and I semi-quote Jagex on this one is "the scope of carpentry was so big that we decided to change it to 'construction'". Lots of people have been dreaming and talking about Carpentry and guess what! It's here! Give the Gower Bro's some time and you'll see that new magic spellbook out. Give it a year at most and it'll be out. But you bring up a good point, the Gnomes were giving us Illusionary spells in Monkey Madness! We didn't "turn" into Monkeys we simply took on the facade of a Monkey! We couldn't use spells or weapons because then the magic would be interrupted by other arcane(magical) forces or the very device projecting the illusion would be no longer activated(respectively). Perhaps our thought of summoning will turn out to be a pseudo-shapeshifting with illusions that give buffs to us and decreases stats towards our enemies (perhaps a giant Tortoise spell that weakens someones defence because they are afraid and gives you greater strenght because you are figthing along side the turtle). That probably won't happen but think of what Jagex is doing with Magic, they are dividing it into groups. There are the highly aggressive mages (Ancients), the Defensive Mages who serve as a behind the scenes helper (Lunar), and then the Average Mage (Normal Magic). Jagex is making Magic far more diverse (as it should be as it's magic, it can do anything) and one could say that it is a precursor to Clan Support (making actual roles for a member of a clan with segregating Magic users). But hey, it's all speculation to me except one thing. More spells will come out. I stated earlier how I feel our spells should be in relation to the NPC's spells and I'll bet that Jagex, through their infinite wisdom, will find a way to make it very enjoyable. It will be a form of summoning, it may not be called summoning but it will have the essence of it. One more thing to prove it your way. Go south of Ardougne and you'll find, guess what! A necromancer, and what does he do? Why he SUMMONS all sorts of monsters and guess how long he's been there. Since Classic. So based on the chronological way you're thinking of (even though we never had any sign of 'Ancient Magicks') Summoning/Necromancy (which is the exact same thing only with a specific thing to summon) should be the next to come, then your "Transforming" (which as I said a little bit above could very well be Illusions and since it was made by a Gnome that helps my case even more), then "Illusions". To set myself straight here, I have no clue how Jagex is going to pull off this next spellbook or even what it will actually be. I can only imagine what it would be and to me a spellbook filled with illusions over yourself and mystical armor that forms over you as an illusion with a bonus to stats and perhaps a random low level monster summoner and then more powerful stat altering spells would be great, not for me, but it would make the game more interesting for those in PVP or Group PVE battles. Also I really don't think we're going to ever get to summon big ol' monsters such as the Battle Tortoises'. Edit: In case you can't tell I love talking about "Game Magic" and working out the mechanics and the backstory of it all. Makes it more interesting to know what is happening when you cast out a spell.

You made the post without having the pictures? Strange but not unheard of :? . The randomly generated scenarios with any sort of main storyline plot attachment would be great! I'll bet you're going to mention how they said they'd have other missions for you right? Yeah, alot of people already thought about that when the second quest for it came out.

Excelsior! Good to see another D&Der skulking about on Runescape. Good ol' Dungeons and Dragons, we wouldn't be here today without you.

 Just thought of something! If anyone here has ever played any D&D game (computer or pen and paper) you'll know that you can have specialized mages meaning they focus in one school of magic more intently than any other and thus they are more adept at using it. Now in the D&D player handbook in every edition I've ever read, Gnomes are ALWAYS good at being illusionists, they (according to the all mighty Gygax) are immune to illusions (at least get a bonus to saving throws) and get a bonus when they actually choose to be illusionists! Now I'm not saying that we'll ever get illusions for spells or even a gnome spellbook. Gnomes are too mystic for us to have similar spells. I think it'd be wise to let the NPC's keep their amazing spells as our own spell books are very diverse already! Let the ancient powers of the Gnomes and the elves be theirs. We Humans have only existed for a fraction of the time they've been around. We'll undoubtedly discover more and more magicks as time goes on. I just don't think we Humans could master the more powerful (more powerful because the Gnomes who use them are ancient and thus it undoubtedly took a long time to master them). Besides if you've ever run a D&D campaign or played a D&D game you'll know that the untouchable NPC's (the ones that are essential to the plot) always has some great powers/spells that the players will never get. Sorry for the dive into D&D but I just had to bring it up! Perhaps the Gower Bro's once played a little D&D back during their days at Cambridge.

I'll bet that none of the "Dead" ones will be "dead" any longer after the final installment of the Fairy Tale Quests. Can't wait until I can finally do that quest!

Big update in the first week of september.
tefda replied to Clan_Chat_Op's topic in General Discussion
August is the time of vacations. Just about everyone I know went out on a vacation this month including myself (Norway FTW!) Lots of people use August as a last shot at going somewhere. Jagex knew this so they didn't plan anything spectacular maybe because alot of their staff gets this month off as well :-k . But September may be a great month so who knows :P -
Yeah, I understand that. I'm just wondering if it would be worth the trouble. So I'm looking for people who've completed the quests and did indeed enjoy them/the rewards. I can get to 66 in 27 days it's not terribly hard it's just I'm wondering whether or not the quests are decent for the last few days of my membership or not.

I think you said you KNOW what items to wear (i.e. Vambraces) and you want to KNOW what monsters to curse. Many people suggest curing the monk underneath a set of stairs in Varrock Castle. That would probably be the best in F2P (which I'm assuming you are since you're using Curse to train).

Another one falls and hits the dusty road out of TIF. Many say (including myself) that all of the greats of TIF are leaving but I only notice it beacuse they were generally somone important. I have to admit that I just scan over the goodbye posts and if I see someone I knew I'll click into it. I'm just surprised to see you go. You were such an active person and then you vanished for a while. Lots of people do it and the majority never notices but when upstanding people like you leave it's hats off and and a twenty-one gun salute. Heck, you deserve it. If you put time into a game, it's for yourself, it's for a desire to complete something or be better than someone. But that's not what you did, instead you put time into the community of the game. That is by far a different story. You affected the digital lives and perhaps at time the physical lives of hundred maybe a thousand or so people be it your commentary or your commitment to the community, you did invest your time wisely. From what I know of you from this online perspective you're a good guy. I can't tell who you are or what you look like in the far off place that you log onto but I can only assume that you represent what you are. I can also believe that you are doing the right thing when you stop playing. It's your judgement and you seemed to have covered the bases quite well. I must say that I don't like seeing prominent people leave the forums but it does happen, each one of us is at a stage in our lives that is different from everyone elses. Yet I cannot be sad as this is only a bit of a cycle in the world. When you first joined there were surely people who were more well known than you and again more "prominent" to the community and as you rose in the ranks of acknowledgement these others began to phase out as they reached a point where they had to leave. So by your leaving you set the stage for the arrival of a new person. This has been happening time and time again and we all shed a metaphorical tear for those who leave but unfortunately they are soon forgot as someone else takes their place. It is my belief that these newer people are not of the same calibur as the previous person but are a fraction less than the latter. So each generation of acknowledged people are made of a lesser quality than those before. If it's true or not I don't know but it's a theory that generally holds. Remember the good and the bad times here, keep in mind that Runescape will just about always be there in case you want to jump back on. With all of that being said, Good luck and God-speed.

Sorry to bump the old guide but I just updated with some more information and whatnot and hopefully this will get someones attention and then they'll start doing Shades as well. It's extremely profitable if you work on Asyn Shades or Fiyr shades. Also Splitbark Tops go like Hot Cakes to Mage Pkers.
