Give it a rest. Maybe he likes mining. Maybe he wants to get ores & mining XP. Maybe he just wants to test out how to best mine gold. It's totally unhelpful to crap on what someone else wants to do. That's not helping at all. Not everyone plays to maximize GP/hour. In fact, I'm willing to bet that most people don't. And it's ridiculous to tell them that they should. There's no right way to play this game, and it's annoying when people act like there is.

To answer the question, your best bet is the good old crafting guild. Shortest banking time (dueling ring to bank, necklace of skills to the front door of the guild), and 7 gold rocks. The only downside is that there can sometimes be competition, and you need a mostly full world to make sure you don't spend any time with no ores to mine. But if you can get in a full world with no competition, this is the best spot. If you are going to use the Brimhaven horseshoe, don't bother with the fairy rings & fisher king realm. It's faster to put your house in Brimhaven, bank in Cwars, tele to house, and run back there. This spot also has frequent competition, but can work on less full worlds, so it's easier to find an open world than with the crafting guild. Arzinian mines would be third best, because you need to have an unlocked Ring of Charos in order to maximize your mining, but you're still giving up 1/9 of what you mine in order to bank. You don't have to worry about competition, but you give away a lot of ore over time, and it's a real pain to hang on to the gems you mine, so I don't really recommend it unless you keep running into competition at the other 2 spots.

Can we please stop with these responses? People like doing things for themselves. What may be better money-wise might not be what is better for a given player's game experience. Just stop already

If you like South Park, southparkstudios.com has every single South Park episode ever made.

He said fastest, and you people recommend burst instead of barrage?

Moss giants are pretty good. They have a good drop rate of watermelon & herb seeds. And killing them entails virtually no risk. You could also try banshees. Lots of pure ess drops, as well as herbs. With a macaw, you could make 200k an hour no problem.

It's a 15 second side trip to pick cactus spines, and I believe there is a familiar that doubles the yield. Giant Ent, maybe? Even without that, though, 6k in spines for a 15 second trip is certainly worth it, whether you sell them for 6k, or save yourself the 6k you would otherwise spend on cactus spines to have the farmers watch your yews. Though it is very debateable whether it is worth it to pay for watching yews.

You will almost certainly profit with praying melee the entire time, and by a good margin. Rune drops are pretty frequent, and with a black mask & super atk/str pots, you should be pretty efficient at meleeing them.

Nope, all you have to do is enter Keldagrim. Entering Keldagrim the first time starts the quest, but once you are in, you are free to return & use the blast furnace at will.
-
Thx for testing, there goes that  I thought there was a chance it put you at the southern tip, since the other familiar hunter teleports place you at a very useful edge of the target hunter area. Would have been easier than fairy rings for quick trips to the blast furnace, but putting you that far north is far from useful. Well, for the blast furnace at least - probably great for polar kebbit fur collecting.

What was the true point of of the run update?

The best agility update would be to have it factor into your melee defense. -
Exactly. No need to move it from Rimmington until you have a specific need to. Accessing your portals is much better done with house teleports/tabs than teleporting somewhere. Getting to Yanille for 1 less law for me isn't worth the time it takes for my house to load. There aren't really any locations that are outside an existing transportation system. Rellekka is probably the farthest useful "out there" location, because of the annoyances of the enchanted lyre and relative distance from the slayer ring teleport, and it allows for decent Moonclan access for switching to Lunar magick.

How close does it get you to the entrance to Keldagrim?

Kill dragons for charms & bones. Sell the hides and buy more bones with the profits. Spend your excess cash on summoning. Then you'd achieve both of your goals.
-
I'm pretty sure you can get to level 4 summoning without gaining a combat level, but I'm not 100% sure about that. However, you can still PvP at 100 combat as long as you don't carry any pouches while PvPing.
-
Banshees beat chaos druids in every possible way - XP rate, cash made, amount of competition, and (I'm guessing, since it's a slayer monster) charm drops.

Fast would be buying steel bars and smithing plates to 68, then buying mith bars and smithing plates to 69. That doesn't seem to be in your budget, but it's the only fast way to do it. You could try superheating mithril bars and selling them. Lots of clicking, but it's reasonably fast smithing XP, good mage XP, and it's within your budget. In fact, depending on what prices you can get on the ores and nats, it might not cost you anything. 4k mith bars ought to do it, which means you have to watch not to exceed a loss of 120 coins per bar to stay within budget - but even buying everything at max probably wouldn't exceed that amount.
-
Try striking or bolting banshees. The XP won't be great, but you'll make money on the herbs and pure ess. And get an OK amount of charms, though they'll mostly be green.

9th June 2009 - Run Energy Update / Patch Notes

I hate to break it to you, but we've had a stackable secondary for quite a while now  -
If money is truly no object, plant palm trees and magic trees as often as possible. Also plant calquats. A calquats and 5 palm trees once a day is over 60k XP, for very little work. 5 magic trees per day is another 70k. Magics grow fast enough that you can do them twice per day. Without any herbs or allotments, you can easily score 200k XP per day just using trees. Herbs, however, can help defray the cost of seeds, and provide XP as well. Poison ivy bushes are worthwhile because you don't have to pay to keep them from getting diseased, though at higher levels, the 4k per bush run may not be worth the time.

If you turn off autoretaliate, the hobgoblin attacks don't stop you from mining. You can bring some cheap armor to withstand their attacks until they stop being aggressive. I wouldn't advise powermining at level 41, though. You don't 1-hit iron often enough at that level, which will make it much slower XP, and virtually impossible to fight off competition that is also trying to powermine. You're better off mining & banking until level 60 or so. Try iron in E. Varrock - which is also a good place to powermine if you are only going to use 2 rocks. You can also get silver there.
-
You would almost double your cost of bursting rock lobs by training defence at the same time.
-
The ZMI altar is far faster than any other runecrafting method, but you sacrifice all that profit.
-
Black demons are much better than dust devils for crimson charms. I'd go there. Pray if you have to, using prossy & other prayer gear. You can easily make back prayer potion costs from their drops.
-
Addy. Once you get good at banking, the more frequent banking won't slow you down much at all.
