Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Trailer!! .:UPDATE!:.
I disagree. First of all, Rowling is not the one who decided to make the seventh movie into two movies. And second of all, they're not creating two movies to make more money, but because there is too much content in the seventh book to make one good and accurate movie out of it. Warner Bros keeps changing the directors too damn much. Some of them have an artistic style that should have nothing to do with Harry Potter, and they ruin it. I don't know why some of the directors were hired, WB must have horrible taste sometimes... Not a hardcore Harry Potter/fantasy fan  But since I got the books as presents over years from younger cousins.. I read them for fun. It's not childish at all, it's a very sophisticated fantasy series. Yeah it really sucks.. And the directors keep changing aspects of the movie to create all kinds of inconsistencies. They completely changed Dumbledore's entire style, they redesigned the dementors for the worse, etc. They made all sorts of unnecessary changes. You cannot make the dementors one way in the third movie and completely redesign them for the fifth

Lock Requests
There is definitely a difference between discussing the general policy/action of users and creating a thread to rant about a moderator's actions. If this thread had said, "Lionheart_0 - why did you lock this thread? You really should not lock users' threads on requests because blah blah blah," then a lock would have been appropriate because Lateralus would be addressing a moderator and his/her actions directly. Since this thread is not doing that, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Lock Requests
Yeah that's the general way we went about it when I was an admin. That's what I tried to promote anyway. If it's a thread in Help & Advice or something where the author is asking for assistance, it's okay to lock. But if it's a thriving discussion that isn't violating/touching any rules, then leave it open.

Lock Requests
Not bashing the staff here or anything, but I've hardly seen that happen. Me neither. They normally just lock it. I agree that topics should be left open even if the original poster decides he is done with it. There would be plenty of discussion left in it, and the original poster can just ignore the thread, not make everyone stop discussing it. Though there are times when it is necessary to lock it on user request, most cases it is not. In that case - I sent a PM to an administrator, suggesting that unless their policy has changed, they post a reminder for the moderators about not locking threads on request unless the entire first post has been edited out :)

I'm Sleeping TOO Much :(
Well this doesn't work for ALL people but sometimes your body adjusts to sleeping to a certain amount of time, rather than waking up at a certain amount of time. So if you go to bed two hours earlier, you'll wake up two hours earlier. Again, this doesn't work for everyone but if everything else fails, it couldn't hurt to try.

Wall-E Signature
Agreed. In order to tell what it really is at all, you have to not only concentrate on it but also have seen what Wall-E looks like. It does look pretty cool, but you really just can't tell what it is very well. The text isn't the greatest either. I'm not a huge fan of the font/effects, but more importantly, you can't really read your username in the top left hand corner very well. But don't lose hope - practice makes perfect :)

I'm Sleeping TOO Much :(
It's possible to not remember your dreams but impossible to not dream at all. If none of the things you mentioned work, then I honestly don't know what to say. It sounds like a bigger problem than just sleeping too much. The only thing I can even think of is just going to bed earlier?

Lock Requests
Unless things have changed since I left Staff, moderators are only supposed to accept lock requests if their entire first post has been edited out. Then in that case, the moderator is supposed to make it clear that the thread may be recreated. Otherwise moderators are supposed to leave the thread alone and decline the request.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Trailer!! .:UPDATE!:.
Wow I'm actually impressed. It looks pretty good. But I don't think I'll get my hopes too high because I don't want to be disappointed. In my opinion, the movies have only been decreasing in quality, but hopefully this one will break the trend. For those who are wondering: Release date: 21 November 2008 Don't say that :P If you enjoy the movies then you would LOVE the books. They are more than 500x better.

Your room, what does it look like?
I'm not exactly a tidy person either... but that's just... wow! I'll post some of mine a bit later.

my essay: Why being a moderator is no big deal
Nicely written. Being a player moderator on a game isn't all it's hyped up to be. Some people may like being able to take action when necessary, but why are we even on RuneScape? ...to play the game. Being a player moderator does seem to take away from that a bit, because you are burdened with questions, private messages, pleas for advice, etc. You are rarely left alone to play in peace unless you "hide" your status by refraining from speaking.

Post pictures of your pets here
Dander makes you allergic - not fur ;) You could still be allergic to a hairless cat, for example. Depending upon how severe your allergies are, you may still be able to comfortably live with animals. Try taking various allergy medications such as Claritin or Zyrtec (I can tell you first-hand that Zyrtec works really well). There is no reason to give up hope even if you're allergic. There are MANY ways to deal with your allergies. If medications don't work for you, you could resort to allergy solutions that you rub on your animal's fur, allergy shots, cleaning your house more often, etc. Here are pictures of my 3-year-old Applehead Siamese/Shorthaired Domestic cat Willow: I adopted him :

The Dark Knight [Tag all spoilers, please]
I can kind of see where he's coming from though. There is a difference between a purely fictional movie and an almost pure realistic movie. I mean movies like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Toy Story, etc. are not meant to be realistic AT ALL. They do not deal with real life issues and are not set in a real environment. Batman, on the other hand, almost does seem realistic. It takes place in a world similar to our own where there is crime, maniacs and technology. Because of that, the movie is almost believeable. But then you get to the cell phone part which kind of throws everything out of wack and all of a sudden you're thinking, "That would never happen..." I don't have a problem with the cell phone part, but I'm sure that's how the people who didn't like it see it as.

99 thief in a week?
Definitely possible :) It took me about that amount of time (proportionally) to get 99 thieving. I was getting 200k xp/hour pretty consistantly. Good luck :)

Please Lock
You cannot expect everyone to memorize which threads are old just because you know them. Not everybody frequently reads the same threads you do or knows the same people. It would be ridiculous to punish users severily because they didn't realize a thread was old. It is very easy to distinguish between someone trolling and spamming old threads on purpose and someone who made a genuine mistake. Spammers are always dealt with but not if they do not continue with their actions after being asked to (like the user you pointed out).
-
Please Lock
I'd say that in most cases, the person who bumps an old thread doesn't realize it's against the rules (or that it's an old thread at all!!). How often do you really check dates on threads? I'd say most people don't. In fact, sometimes people reply to an old thread and then when they check back later, they realize "Oh oops, I didn't realize it was so old." So even the Staff did increase the punishment, it probably wouldn't do any good.. because most people don't know what the concequences are before bumping the thread.
-
Please Lock
Since that was only two cases, I personally wouldn't give the user anymore than a warning - if that. If the person stopped bumping posts after that, then it's no big deal. But sometimes people just need a reminder of the rules. And another thing that you have to realize is that you don't know what goes on behind-the-scenes. Whenever a user is warned/temporarily banned, there is not a huge message on their profile that says "THIS USER WAS WARNED ON [X DATE] FOR [X REASON]." Yes the same person bumped two threads, but two honestly isn't a big deal. If it were me, I'd probably wait until 3 or 4 before handing out a warning. And if this user you mentioned had CONTINUED bumping old threads after Lionheart's post asking him to stop, then his actions would merit further action.
-
Please Lock
Everything in this post is assuming nothing has changed since I left Staff in June. These cases are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Not all spammers are given a ban, for instance. It depends on the severity of the spamming. Bumping old topics is not against the rules if the user is contributing to the thread. But if a user bumps an old topic with "Bump" or a similar useless comment, their reply is removed or the thread is locked. However if that same user bumps MULTIPLE old topics with a spammy/useless reply, then the person in question is usually warned or given a temporary ban (depending upon the severity of their actions). I'd say the current policies are perfect.

¥ The Great Tip Pic of 2008! Omfg it's here! \=D/ Enjoy!
Note to self: all pictures up to this point have been added. Also, guys, when adding your "Picture Name" please do not put down things such as "Me wearing a blue party hat" or "Me in Tip.it Pic 2008." The purpose of the "Picture Name" slot is to put down the name of the character you are displaying with the proper spelling/capitalization that you want to appear on the Tip.it Picture.

What are your flaws?
I'm sensitive, I oftentimes overanalyze things, I SUCK at maintaining conversations - particularly on the phone or in person. If the other person is keeping the conversation alive then I can continue it, but I can never be the main "topic-starter" if you will. And I constantly go over past conversations/actions in my head, which causes me to eventually think of a MUCH better thing to say/do than what I actually said/did.. it drives me crazy.

Torti's Real-Life Allotment **LOTS OF PICTURES!!**
You're lucky that you were able to take the easy way out :P I helped out with an agricultural project on the Taos Pueblo Reservation and we had to dig up all the plants/roots by hand for the compost area and a pathway! It was long, tedious work! Anyway I admire your patience and it looks great so far!! Keep it up

Funorb Section
You can leave it up to a moderator to decide :) If they feel it should be locked then I'm sure they'll do it.

Funorb Section
This was discussed when FunOrb first came out and it was denied for two main reasons: 1. This is a RuneScape fansite - not a Jagex fansite. If the Staff creates a new forum for FunOrb, then people who play WoW, etc. will want one as well. 2. Not enough interest. If there was a HUGE demand for one and the Video Games & Consoles forum was filled with FunOrb topics, then I'm sure a new forum would be considered. But that is far from the case.
