  1. I wanted to do one, but my creativity is gone for the night. I might work on one later. I'm not reserving anything.
  2. If I ever see a Tip.it shirt when I'm walking, I'm going to stop them and take a picture. :D
  3. You know you all rock for all the work you put into it. I love these threads. Does anyone know how long for each release was in relation to the last one of this type? To get a general idea of how long until we can expect these updates to come out?
  4. I understand the reasoning behind both sides, but the point in favor of removing them is because it is a semi-uncontrollable thing. The only way to prevent this is to tell users not to listen to x song or y cd. That goes beyond the powers of the forum. But then if a user does understand the rules and forgets what song is last played, and it shows up, then actions could be taken on the account. I see it as a tricky thing to navigate, but ultimately my choice would be to advise people to watch what they are listening to if they have that sig, in respect of the other users. Then if it gets to that point, and the sig is reported, then so be it. So ultimately, I'm cool with things, just users need to think before they listen...
  5. Little lemmings to throw into the community. Let the mod take over begin yet again. :D
  6. Ah, always love reminiscing about what one can remember. I especially love it when people post their pictures. I started September 2004 I believe, so I'm not Old School but I've been around the block. And now for the obligatory list: I remember... ...Yo-Yo's being released from Santa. ...Missing the Rubber Chicken event. ...old prices of items. ...killing goblins for chain mail and selling to the general store to make some gp. ...losing my silverlight sword in the maze for Dragon Slayer. I was so upset by the guy who told me to go first. ...going from level 44 to 46 after beating Dragon Slayer. I skipped my favorite number. :( ...running away from the highway man when I started. ...not going anywhere without a newcomer's map. ...FINALLY beating the Prince Ali rescue quest so I could pass for free. ...getting members for the first time, and my first stop was to finally past the gates to the north of Fally. That was a great day in my career haha. ...thinking that once I used all four charges on my Glory Ammy, it would crumble like my ring of dueling. And a bunch of other personal memories such as becoming a TET member, joining up with the OoC and of course getting the Santa Hat that I have played so much for. Now I am "retired" in peace with that item.
  7. There seems to be a lot of argument on whether this is bannable or not. I've never heard of this argument before, so I don't know the answer. Trying to circumvent the logout timer is theoritically against the rules, so I would advise not to try such things. With that being said, I will be locking this thread. Please PM me if you disagree.
  8. Time for a new release of the: >>>Tip.It Times!<<< When replying please make sure to clarify the article you are replying to! Thanks! Enjoy the articles! P.S. Also if you notice any kind of grammar/spelling mistakes, please PM me instead of posting on here. Thanks!
  9. I wouldn't mind seeing a Funorb forum. I've been playing more funorb than runescape nowadays and think it would be on par with Mechscape Discussion. Could build a little community in that forum as well.
  10. But it makes me think, what can they give to the community that they couldn't previously as a non mod? To me, it just sounds like a recognition/incentive for people wanting to build the community even further. But if it is for that reason, what is the purpose in giving mod powers then? I really don't know what is to be done with "community leaders" but then again I'm out of tune with today's leaders, so I wouldn't even know who to give this to. I hope they do well with it, I really hope it goes over and beyond a symbol of recognition and that these Leaders can do more to help out the community, rather than just presence.
  11. I can't believe I missed this topic. I am in total support of them in this new change. I know they have been trying hard to build community, and picking those that help build that community is a plus. But sometimes I think, what point is it if they pick all these high level players/famous players, then are they hoping people follow the leader and be nicer? Oh well, I do think this a good move on their part and can't wait to see what kind of things come out of this. (And maybe see some of the TET get some recognition for their hard work.)
  12. Nearly finished...isn't that every update? -.- Oh well, nothing really too interesting. Possibly one of the lamest dd's for me in interest.
  13. Very nice. I love the new whip look, but not too found of the longswords/scimitars. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. Anyone show updated spell books?
  14. First thing that came to my mind was the GE. If only there was a secret place that I dig and find a Robin Hood. Oh wait, that's a treasure trail.
  15. Because Ranging beats Magic in the triangle, so those fighting it "should" range and therefore would want an Amulet of Ranging. And I am not too sure on this Dragon Chainbody. There are already Dust Devils, why a need for another?
  16. I totally forgot about this quest line (probably because this quest line started right after I left p2p). It was a nice to surprise to see a quest today, but yes it is a shame to see how "little" has been happening. Maybe we just don't see the work being put into it, but that is where the blogs and dd come in. Personally, I don't think they are doing enough justice for the general runescape populace. They work for me, but a lot just want to see every Monday "NEW AWESOME UPDATE". What a shame.
  17. This sounds like the most likely option. I approve of that name, also just Stellar Dawn. This reminds me of "Wildernass Tag" everyone was expecting to run around in the wilderness "tagging" each other. It became the beacon lighting mini game that provides the Inferno Adze. I still laugh at that.
  18. Guys, this is a last warning to everyone. Play nice or there will be offences to forum accounts. Keep all fights off the public eye by PMing each other, not here. Don't make me clean/close another thread. -.-

  20. Obviously since no one can get along in this thread, I'm locking it. Play nice and keep the stupid flames away. Edit: Unlocking this topic now. You guys have been warned. If more crap surfaces, actions will be taken against your accounts. Don't let it get to that. Just have fun. If necessary, PM the user you have a problem with. Thank you.
  21. Mico, you make good points, but one I would like to argue is the tabus point. You say a 30 year old man can not befriend a 14 year old girl. Maybe I have a different conception of what befriending is than you, but when I think of befriending, it means being friends. It doesn't have to be a deep friendship but a friendship nonetheless. A friendship to me is knowing another person and asking about their general life (How was school, did you make the job, etc.) Nothing has to be that intimate between this relationship. Now you say that the general public would not accept this, but there are numerous amount of situations in which this could be openly accepted. A 30 year old married man is a jr. high girls basketball coach. The coach and the girls are usually great friends and cares for their health and safety. Would this not be accepted? A jr. high youth pastor tries to be friends with everyone that comes through the doors of meetings. Can this not also be accepted? I would say that a deep, intimate relationship can not be had and viewed in the public eye in the same way as a relationship say two 14 year old girls, but that's not the point I am arguing. Onto the main article, you talk about relationships that could have only occurred through a medium that does not provide certain qualities/characteristics with those you converse with. (Voice, image, etc.) There are many people that I have met through the use of the internet, but it is all part of what I have become. I have learned lessons from those I have befriended through my years. If it wasn't for these lessons I have learned, I will have become a different man. I thank for the experiences I have had leading the Tip.it Events Team, because it taught me some leadership lessons I may have possibly never have learned elsewhere. For this I am dearly and truly grateful for these experiences and relationships. Now in comparison with my "real life" relationships, what else is there to say? I don't distinguish my "Runescape" relationships with that of my "real life" relationships. Want to know why? Because those I have befriended in Runescape are some of my real life friends as well. I play this game of Runescape in Real Life. That's the point that needs to be remembered. Behind every playable character, this is another person playing that character. I may never meet some of these friends, but that isn't to say we aren't real or true friends. That's like saying your PenPal doesn't exist, it's only a letter, just because you have never met them. That's a shame if you believe that. So in the end, I am truly thankful for all my relationships that I have grown to keep through these years, both those I have met and those I haven't. I wouldn't trade them away for anything and will hope to continue to build these relationships I have. Maybe I will have the chance to meet some of these great people, but I can't be too certain. I can still hope. :)
  22. Heh, my brother is going through the same things. He complains every time he comes home from his Monday Night Scout meetings. I did too. I never liked how they ran the meetings. What did I do? I changed it. I sent my complaints in and learned on my own. I eventually got to Eagle at age 16 (feels so long ago now lol) and haven't regretted getting it. I took the learning in my own hands and didn't worry about the group. Some of my suggestions for you would be to take things into your own hands. Do what I did and try to change what you don't like. If it is ran like a "business" suggestions are always something key that they would then listen to. And you are right, you are at the bottom of the totem poll. You are a star. You are in the older tier but the bottom of that tier. Just show what you got to offer, and you will shine in no time. Now, I don't know why you are being held off on your first aid badge. Are you asking for a pass because you know the stuff already or what? Sit through a class or something for proof. I slept through Emergency Preparedness and got the badge anyways. :D This is the part that confuses me. My last suggestion would be to enjoy it. Don't grit your teeth, make it enjoyable. Get the most out of it that you can. There really is no point in just gritting your teeth. Make it something you would enjoy while you are there. It really is worth it in the end to obtain the rank of Eagle, don't let it fall through your fingers just because. Also maybe try Venturing? They do all that crazy extreme stuff, that's up your alley and I heard you can finish Eagle in there as well. Just a thought. Best of luck with your choices. If you need anything else, just PM me. I'm always ready to help out a fellow. :)
  23. Ooo time to check this out. I know some TET were asked for suggestions on this idea. :D
  24. I'm cool with these new updates. More risk, higher costs needed to trick. I just wish there was a better reason for Spite. :)
