  1. The point is not "who should be treated", rather, it is at what point they should be treated. You are setting an arbitrary number at which someone should be treated for addiction, which simply is not reasonable. There are gaming addiction clinics, just like their are drugs and alcohol clinics. The difference is the people who are being admitted are either A) Admitting they have a problem or B) Have family/friends who have identified the problem. Now, unless you can identify that this person has a problem (Sick, missing work, dehydrated, etc), you cannot possibly say he/she needs help. The equivalent would be me saying that you need to be treated since you play a *gasp* 3 hours a day. I wouldn't have minded if someone would have stopped me from playing this game 5 years ago. Would have left me with a lot of time to do other stuff, allthough it would probably be some useless thing too (tv, another game, books, ... ).
  2. I think people who watch 9 hours of television a day should be treated too. There is a fine line between enjoying and addiction. Why should, according to you, people with alcohol addiction be treated, and people with a gaming addiction not? Both are bad for your health. I think my average over 5 years is like 3 hours a day, and I admit that at times I was really addicted, thinking about this game when I went to bed etc. Now imagine if I played 9 hours. I kind of agree people should be able to do whatever they want, but then you should let people with alcohol and drug addiction alone too, otherwise you'd be a hypocrite.
  3. Okay, you are right, it can depend on the lifestyle, but even then, I think in any lifestyle 9h a day AVERAGE is just pure addiction and should be treated.
  4. Qeltar just wants to point out that someone with an addiction is being "rewarded" and that that isn't how it should be. Is the guy who took the most heroine shots in his life in the guiness book of records? I'm not saying this one shouldn't be in there, but I don't think that anyone here is really jealous. I know I'd feel terribly bad.
  5. This thread's just turning into Qeltar v everyone else. You do know there are jobs in which you're in an office, and perhaps answering a phone all day? Yes, there are plenty of jobs like that. Those give time to do other things while talking - playing RuneScape for example. I reckon you stop looking for what's wrong with what say and start seeing what's right about what they say. You don't need to criticise everything in life. Nah, I'm with him too. Whoever tried to explain it is possible to play 8 hours a day while having a job and sleeping normal forgot about the real part of life: everything besides a job an sleeping. Okay, you can get around sleeping, playing the average 9 hours a day and doing a job, but that leaves NOTHING for social contact, sports, etc... I call someone who doesn't do sports, and doesn't have any social contacts, other hobbies/occupations an addict, or nolifer if you like this term more.
  6. Some people smoke for fun, but when you smoke 3 packs a day, you are addicted. Some people drink for fun, but when you drink 1 bottle of vodka a day, you are addicted. Same goes for all other drugs. Same goes for runescape. I don't think anyone is jealous. I would feel insanelybad if I find out I have spent 700 days on this game. Heck, somehow I even feel bad I've played 165 days.
  7. I hope this post wasn"t serious. The world doesn't revolve around you and your guide, which probably 90% of us have never visited.
  8. Armadyl and bandos armour, godswords and claws, they are all crashing atm. I'm having a hard time figuring out how low they would drop. Is it just a small crash and the start of the stagnation of these prices (can't see it getting much more expensive tbh) or is this really the huge crash some people have been afraid of?
  9. I think I subconsciously do. An attractive girl has to be very annoying for me to really "annoy" me, while if there is this fat and ugly girl that is annoying, I would be annoyed very quickly. In fact, it seems to be mostly ugly girls that annoy me, and this can't be just because ugly girls tend to be more annoying, right (I would assume it's evenly distributed).
  10. IMO people here seem to be way too scientific about all this. Oenitus, cavemanning, friend zoned, 3 second rule, who is inventing these terms? Where is the spontanuous side of flirting etc. with girl? From what I read here, you guys seem to be strategists, thinking about everything they are gonna say beforehand and following strict tactics. That seems just ... weird. If I were a girl, I would never want to go with a guy who is looking at their relationship as a strategy game, planning his moves according to the guidebook. what is the 3 second rule by the way, and where are you people getting all these weird terms?
  11. People said that when AGS reached 90M+, 100M+, and continuously onward after that. Bandos is still a bit cheap, considering it's a good weapon and fairly cheap. Zammy godsword is no doubt the rarest godsword, since no one kills Kril' as much as the other gens, but it has limited uses. I can see all of them going up a bit more. SGS has a lot of potential to go 100M+ at this point. I'm going to have to agree with abyssal_whip with this one. With the 'nerfing' of 76k'ing the hyper inflation has since slowed down considerably. Of cource inflation has always and will always happen, but the 8-12% inflation per month that we saw since pure GP rewards will hopefully be a thing of the past. And with more and more items coming into the game the natural deflation of weapons etc should AT LEAST even out the inflation. Here is a graph from Runewiki showing their version of the stock market index. I'm not exactly sure how they come up with how the numbers work, but I know that it was started at 100 when the GE beta came out and has been tracking prices ever since. It tracks the prices of Runes, Ores, Bars, Logs and Foods. As you can see, prices seem to have hit their peaks and are stabalizing. That's what people have been satying for the past few months, but I honestly think that as long as the gold tap (PVP drops) doesn't get turned off, inflation will never stop. Without a faster goldsink to drain the flood, the pool of gold in the whole game just increases everyday, why would inflation stop? The plateau you see at the end of the chart could be the preview to another rise, similar to the other plateau before it, It can stop if enough people go to tds, gwd etc to create more items for the total amount of cash to be used on. Growing amount of items + growing amount of cash = balance.
  12. Did 2 more trips today and with the setup I can now easily do 8 chests (food left), so I love it even more. Also, I checked whether overload lasted long enough and mostly it did, with a few exceptions where it wouldn't spawn but at the chest and where the chest was far away. One trip was exceptionally fast and I got back out of the dungeon and still the overload was working, so that was a chest of under 5 min.
  13. Did overload last in the tunnels too? I found killing the tunnel brother pretty slow because my overload dose would run out before that. I didn't have clawsto spec with though. And do you think claws of guthix is a lot better than fire surge? Fire surge maxes at 28 instead of 30, but you don't have to cast charge and it gives 30 xp more per cast. Seems worth using instead of cog, even though it's probably more expensive because you use 10 fires and 7 airs instead of 1 fire and 4 airs. And grats on the drops :P Overload doesn't always last in the tunnel. It depends on the location of the chest and what you get kc on and if whether it appears at the chest, or before. Most of the times it does though. And if it doesn't, it's not really a problem for the melee brothers, since you still hit very decent without the extreme mag pot. I bring 8 overload doses anyway, so I can always repot over there, but it makes things a bit more complicated. I picked claws of guthix since I'm already 99 mage and dont care about xp. I'd probably use fire surge if I wasn't 99 mage yes.
  14. Today, I did 4 chests with void and godsword: this method sucked 5 chests with verac: this method was decent 2x 6 chests with ahrim and claws of guthix: this methoded owned! I got very lucky and received karil skirt, ahrim bottom and dharok helm in a row. Around 12 chests later I got a torag helm too. This totals 11m in 21 chests. Anyway, onto my claws of guthix method, which I am very excited about: (take claws in stead of dagger, it's better, I tried both). It's so awesome because I can do the full trip within one overload sip. I start with sipping overload, speccing karil with piety and protect(he dies in 2 claw specs easily). Then I 2 doses of brew to get my hp up a bit. Overload wil restore my stats within 15 sec. Then I change to ahrim and my mace, charge, put on autocast and kill dharok. Get out, drink another dose of spec restore, on to verac. Then mostly I finish the other melee brothers with prayer left, and at the end I try to 2 hit ahrim without prayer, when my spec bar is full again. This mostly works fine. Chests are around 6 min each, first one a bit longer. You should really try it. It's fun to 2 hit ahrim and karil, and hit 39s on with magic.
  15. Nice man, especially the 95 slayer. Hoping to post a 95 prayer and 99 herblore pic here soon, but prayer is so boring (will do some while watchign movies) and overload making is quite tedious, yet uber fast. Thanks  How many overloads will you have when you're done? I have like 130 at the moment but they wont last long at the rate I'm using them now haha  I will have 3.75k overloads (3). Should last me a lifetime :-). Just got epic luck at barrows btw. Karil skirt, ahrim bottoms and dharoks helm in a row. Overloads, spec restores and claws are good fun at barrows. Killing ahrim and karil in 2 specs each run. Working on the ultimate setup atm. It seems like those sally guys are beating me in killing speed (I'm meleeing, godsword and whip kind of sucked, veracs is decent), so I will try these probably. (or god spells perhaps)

  17. Dark Beasts aren't in multi zone, not even in their natural spot Well like i said idk as i never done DBs, also i hear people still do cannon then to make the task go by faster. Yeah I do usually cannon them, was about 26k slayer xp/h and that was without curses/extreme pots. And I think bladewing just meant that as advice there, a wolper probably doesn't hit very well on daggs (mage -> range combat triangle etc). With 10% str, overloads and your stats (+ ferocious ring) dark beasts in kuradals dungeon give me 23k xp an hour, so it seems like cannoning isn't worth it to me.
  18. Didn't think I would ever post here, but hey, why not I guess. [hide] [/hide] [hide][/hide]
  19. IMO you look 100x better without that creepy long hair and mustache, but that might just be me.
  20. did wgs a while ago and just did the new one yesterday and alredy spent that on hp. would soul wars simpley be faster? Dude, that was a very stupid move. If you would have spended it on prayer, that would have saved you like 7m or something. Trust me when I say that you will regret it later when you have 99 hp and well over 15m xp, and still not maxed melees.
  21. Got a whip, verac skirt, torag/guthan platebody, slayer mask, dragon boots, super sets and prayer pots? Then you are okay for combat mostly. (might have missed some stuff) I'd say use it to get all your skills to around 70 (some will even make money while lvling). This will help you a lot in the game in general (questing, getting around, fighting monsters, ...). The basic ones that will cost you money are prayer, herblore and constructiong. I didn't include summoning, because it shouldn't cost a lot in total if you gather charms through slayer or meleeing other monsters. If you do burst rock lobsters, which is a good option, it will cost naturally, but you will get some sweet magic xp.
  22. Just keep going, keep you ranged and melee stats equal and it happens naturally. Dont make the mistake to go to soul wars or pest control (I did a few hundred k there, and look at me now, 17m hp xp nearly).
  23. Like someone else have said, don't go for a 99 unless you got like 90 naturally and feel like ready to go for the last stretch. But if you still persist, I think lvling slayer is enjoyable, allthough I'm not sure if I will ever get 99. Another good and enjoyable moneymaking way is magic at DKS, barrows, or some bolt enchanting in between if prices are right. There's also glass making. So yeah, magic has a lot to offer, and you are stupid if you think it's just about alching. Lastly, there are the melee stats and ranging, which have a lot of opportunities to make you money. Of course there are also the obvious runecrafting, mining, woodcutting, and fishing, but I think those skills are pretty boring once you are over 85 and you will pretty much do the same thing for 85-99 whereas the thing I mentioned have a variation of ways to lvl it. Maybe on last skill, it doesnt make money though, is herblore. From 87-99 I will make 3.7k overloads. This will give me a lifetime supply of combat boosting pots and also a very fast and relatively cheap way to get 99 herblore. This is IMO much more important/satisfying/useful than getting 99 in a useless and relatively slow skill (let's say for instance fletching, making yew bows at 100k xp an hour).
  24. Do NOT use a wolpertinger. You'd be better off with like a terrorbird. HUh? I use iron titan btw.
