It all stems from kids having very few consequences for their actions at the moment. School: Teachers have almost no powers over the kids any more. Just touching a kid on the arm to stop them if they are fighting, or to pull them out of a room if they misbehave is not allowed. One of my old science teachers had the best trick for countering this, but unfortunately I doubt many other teachers at the moment would take up his methods. He always had a hockey stick in his room, which if somebody misbehaved would smash it down on their table right in front of them. It is scare tactics, but it worked a treat. Home: What is wrong with hitting a child that misbehaves? It is what I call the 'super-nanny' generation. I tell you, when I was little, a slap around the back of the legs worked much better than if I had been told to sit on the stairs for 20 minutes. Violence in this case does solve something, parents now days seem scared of their children, it should be the other way around. Mental illnesses: Every little thing now has a mental illness that a child will use as an excuse to misbehave. I don't mean to offend people who truly have a mental illness, but damn, there is one for everything at the moment, they are not ill they are just ignorant little [cabbage]s who have not learnt the correct way to behave!

Does it have mod capabilities? If not I doubt i would ever play it, and if not I doubt it could replace CS. Unfortunately, the game actually sounds fairly limited to me, I hope there are more than just 3 maps.

I see this thread going no further, Nopnoob you have almost dismissed almost all the advice given to you, and even resorted to offending some people who have given you advice. I'm locking this before there is even more flame.

I agree, although I don't have the time right now to type out a lengthy paragraph, I will say it annoys me to no end when people jump straight to conclusions without stopping to think for 20 seconds about the bigger picture.

Just had a nice meal of Liver,Bacon & Onion. It is one of the few times when I don't feel guilty for eating bacon, as with the liver the meal overall is good for me.

One idea spurred on by Paws comment of the exp. The ideas of Bartering as the new skill fit perfectly with this. It would definitely be a skill about arguing, talking to people, and could easily give exp into that.

Did I see somebody say this was aimed at kids? I can't think of a subject related less to children than court cases. It sounds like a good distraction, and could be a very good insight into the lores of some NPC's. I wonder if it will only be humans tried? Imagine a trial of the KBD for burning somebody to a crisp.

Well it's been a while since I last made an entry, mainly because I haven't had a whole lot that can be shared here. Well, lets see what has happened since I last made an entry. I went to Lincoln for a night out with a friend at University there last Wednesday, it ended very badly. Trying to keep my reputation as a Mod here, so I will not give details, but it did take a couple of days to recover. I went home that weekend, and went out to see some friends who I hadn't for over a month. Unfortunately, as I was having a sober night, it was fairly boring, and only a bare minimum of people decided to come out, not was I was looking forward to when I went home. Since then there really has not been anything interesting happen, been going to lectures and seminars, and been sat in my room for hours each day doing work. Today, I had a lecture which finished at around 12, so i got home at around 1pm. As soon as I got in, I decided to start work on an assessment that is due in on Friday, so I can ask my tutor tomorrow if I have all the right information, name, Student number etc. on it. The problem with this assessment is that it is a 'note taking exercise'. Basically, they want to know that we can take the right notes, and that we know what information to take down. The problem is, and what everybody doing my course has said, is that usually notes are illegible to anybody but the person who has written them. Having to make them readable by the tutor is a strange thing to do, and makes the notes feel very strange. Because of this, and because i kept getting distracted, it took me almost 7 hours to do a 750 word assignment :rolleyes: . I'm having an early night tonight after two early starts in a row, and then probable Rock city tomorrow night, or a pub crawl if I can convince some mates for it. Not looking forward to the weekend, I have two essays to do, one for Friday, one for Tuesday. But then nothing until December which is good. I think that's about it, as i said, not the most interesting week. Not sure when the next entry will be as I have a fair amount of work to get done in the next few days.

Shaved mine off on Monday, somebody should have told me.

Just to show how many people have 99hp cape and how fast it is rising. When I was around 91HP, I was ranked 40k. As I trained it, I kept very close to 40k, and upon reaching 99, I think I was ranked 41k. Now I have no idea what I am, but I would guess 45k+

I wish they hadn't given any hints of the skill and just done it spontaneously. It would lead into a much better experience when first using it.

I personally think its all part of the learning experience. If you don't die and lose something expensive, you don't learn. It does not take much time to open up the menu to see what you will lose. It all ties into risk/reward.

The problem with Thirteen worlds is that it limits them in the long run. This way, they can add more planets as they continue developing the game.

Double post, but i finally won against the AI, and by the end it was just inevitable. I had two fleets of 100+ roaming the map, making 40+ per turn at the end.

I agree Nadril, a lot of your posts have been constructive, that mainly was not aimed at you, but people posting spam without anything constructive.

I think he probably knew there was a slim chance, but didn't want to risk the whole crew when it might not happen.

I wish the bus company here would strike, then i wouldn't have to go to my lectures, and have a legitimate reason for not going. But it won't happen as it's a private bus company <_<

I find it hard to say in a straight up way. If i need to say it, I'll usually say 'nah I can't mate' instead of straight up 'no'.
