i think the two best ideas raised by oddfaery were flooding the mines with aggressive low-leveled monsters, and having a skill total that prevents miners from mining pure essence. for example, if f2p were allowed to mine essence in a mine filled with level 25 mages and archers, which required a skill total of say 500 to mine, i think that this would allow jagex to keep the normal ess for basic runes/pure for better runes idea.

yep, what cardovilian said. sorry but you solution makes absolutely no sense. if anything, this essence converter helps the macroers more than anything, and pretty much overrides the whole normal/pure essence changes. i honestly dont think that the update is much of a problem. it will cut down on essence macroers, f2p runecrafters will still be able to purchase essence from the legitimate miners, and members can purchase their pure essence from non-macroing sources. its as simple as that.

i dont think jagex screwed up at all. it seems like a very sensible change to make to deter macroing. of course, everyone will still be able to buy cheap normal essence, but it will mean that macroers will be unable to sell their normal essence without becoming a member. thus, macroers will think twice before attempting to macro on a members account. this update may affect prices, but it certainly will upset those macroing. a very good update for everyone (except macroers).

new for me as well. i havent gotten that before. then again, i dont remember the last ent i had...

set yourself some goals. they dont have to be easy. if you enjoy runescape, set yourself some long term ones that a) wont be easy to achieve and B) will keep you going for a long time. in your mind, it will seem as if you are working towards something, and will give your rs life some purpose.

jagex wont make rares untradable. it would cause such an upset in the rs economy. there is only one place for rare prices to go: up. as accounts with rares in them get banned, eggs/pumpkins get eaten, rares alched/dropped and lost or people stop playing, rares will be taken out of the market, and prices will rise. theres no doubt about it.

lol. gun control in runescape pl0x. about autoers: jagex doesnt identiy autoers based on reports. their super special anti-macroing device allows them to monitor the actions of all players and they can tell when a suspiciously default-looking level 3 is clicking in the same place essence run after essence run. on bad reports: if you think that someone is doing something wrong, then report them. jagex will not ban someone just because you thought that the stars that appeared when they typed were swear words. they make sure that there is genuine evidence before banning. granted, there is the odd case of what seems to be an unfair ban. jagex employees are human, after all. bad language: this is a childrens game. in a previous jagex poll, it showed that the majority of rs users were youngish. thus, we shouldnt let bad language and censor abuse run rampant. we complain about the little kids in the game. just think about the affect our bad language is on them, and then ask why they are so bad in game. to the person who said that racism didnt bother them: well it should. we live in a modern society. you would think that we could live without racism. it states that racist comments are against jagex rules, so do report those making racist comments. in general, if you think there is something suspicious going on, look into it, use your discretion, then report.

ive been playing for just over a year. have never gotten a mime, or a freaky forester, or a maze. way too many frogs/mom/swarms/alcoholic dwarves. it seems like no matter what i do, or whatever skill i train, i dont get any of the good randoms.

ok, since my reasonable wishlist was too reasonable, heres my not so reasonable version: 1) castle wars, plus duelling ring tele. 2) more mage gear (ie mage armour). those robes get old. 3) a quest aimed at mid-high leveled f2pers. 4) a high leveled monster (such as a dragon) in a non-wildy area. possibly with its own new dungeon... 5) basic potions that are usable in f2p (ie basic att/def/str pots, weapon poison and anti-poison).

recently, ive been in al kharid. for f2p, its the furnace thats closest to a bank. *sigh* only 2k steel bars to go...

1) no convenient way to pay, i dont have a job so parents would be paying, in my final year of school so not such a good idea 2) in one word, yes 3) possibly, once i leave school

hmm, good uses for the easter ring: making emod (egg moderator) jokes making fried egg jokes when standing on a fire making egg rolling jokes (click on the egg while walking)

lmao. as if jagex didnt learn from that mistake last time. from whatever holiday drop was the last (santas i think? correct me if im wrong), jagex ceased creating holiday drops, and had the items handed out by npcs and made them non-tradable, so they wouldnt be sold for millions in a year or less.

The thread isn't about whether or not F2P deserves anything or not. And aside from which, a number of the suggestions mentioned so far would benefit members even more than they would free players. what the short man said. the word "deserve" was not mentioned in anyones post. if you bothered reading any of the posts, you would see that its just a wishlist. im not desperately hoping for any or all of this to come true. its just a wishlist. thanks for that genius. im glad that at least you looked at the title before posting. that comment is pretty irrelevant. no one is whinging about how crappy f2p is. and, i copy and paste the comment i wrote just above. its just a wishlist. you could also probably do with reading the thread thats linked in my sig. it might change your outlook on things. one other comment: to give people like the above one less reason to comment like they have, refrain from putting rediculously outrageous wishes on your lists, like dragon weapons and complete new sets of all armours that will get the members flaming.

varrock. in world 1, the majority of people are there, and world 1 is never wrong! (dont even mention world 2). plus, it kinda has all the important features of a capital: an apothecary, a fortune teller, a freshly-summoned demon wanting to burn every building, even autoers [/sarcasm]. yeh, my vote is still for varrock.

Some updates to F2P would also benefit members. If F2P could use the low-level potions it would open up a market for low level herblorists to make a decent profit. Currently you can't sell the basic attack/strength/def potions, they're practically worthless and only good for training. If F2P could use them then members would actually have a reason to pick up those guam leaves. there are many reasons why a few f2p updates would benefit members. firstly, lets think about coloured gloves. every f2p noob wants them, and will pay several k for them. the reason? only members can get them. nooby members can come over and sell them for a bit of a profit. the same can be said on a bigger scale, like dwarfie said. imagine, for a second (remember, im just imagining, no need for flaming), that jagex does decide make limited fletching available for f2pers. and, say, jagex decide not to put a flax field in the f2p map. where are f2pers meant to get their flax from? from members, of course (at a rediculously inflated price, of course). for herblore, all the basic pots, that are normally never used in members worlds, could be sold to f2pers (for example, basic attack/defence/strength sets, the weakest weapon poisons, antipoisons etc). however, im just talking about selling the items. as you have to get a quest to get started in the actual skill, it would be way to hard to make a f2p version. armoured boots, which some people thought to be too much, could be sold to f2pers, again, at a rediculously high cost. but, of course, we would still buy it. back on to a couple of other ideas mentioned: bank spots. those four missing spaces really annoy me. i mean, when did they decide to leave it at half a row? and with all the random-event related gear that grave diggers and frogs are handing out, we could just four more spots. castlewars: think about how many noobs would enjoy this one? bashing the heck out of each other with bronze maces and iron daggers. it would also answer the question: what is point is there in having god alliegances in f2p? for castlewars, of course! a considerably higher leveled monster, not in the wildy (with a half decent drop): something that has a high enough level to absolutely dominate any noobs that come near it, and give a bit of a training challenge to the higher levels. maybe, something like a rune plate could be a rare drop from it. other things people mentioned (that are kinda reasonable): ability to use snare another lobster/swordfish fishing spot that isnt karamja magic robes in between normal robes and mystic maple trees low level theiving/agility - have a level block: you cant earn any xp past level 10 or something like that just 1 more quest - please? canoes runescape classic unreasonable stuff: better range gear (bloody rangers. you already got an update :wink:) rings that arent to teleport to castlewars other runecrafting abilities aznelliot518 muhelos more of other resources - fishing is the only one that is lacking. the others have heaps of spots slayer - its set up for members treasure trails weapons specials - just asking to much climbing boots/crystal bows/claws - dw, this person was delusional cats/kittens - again, i think thats stepping over the line. if your down to asking for cats, you might as well ask for free membership just plain stupid: dragon weapons? well if you really want the members down here flaming it up... im glad someone read the post. this isnt begging, it isnt f2pers saying they deserve stuff. as if we havent heard "members has more features for a reason" enough times. so please, can just follow along like everyone else? hey, we would like to hear what a member would give f2p, so AznElliot518, why dont you post again, but try what was asked by ixfd64?

ooohhh. can you say spam? i wonder how many people can quote the same thing over and over. we get the idea, and... really dont care. in other news, i support the idea. remember, IDEA. hes not asking/begging/demanding, just suggesting. so lay off. 10k xp is too much. but, the high requirements are good. i was meant to quote the other guy that said something that wasnt negative, about how high leveled f2pers wont look at jagex as ogres (for a little while :lol:). but yeah, looks good, and gives high leveled f2pers (and even the littler ones) something to work towards that is beyond dragon slayer. for everyone, please read the ultimate, final word on F2P vs. P2P by neogeo0823. it should clear a few things up.

wow. no flaming. im shocked. *bumps neogeos thread in rants section* 1) wildy team capes. even the members want them in f2p. 2) limited fletching. the equivalent of what we can use (ie addy arrows, maple bows). 3) maple trees. see above. plus, we can burn them, but not cut them? what the? 4) teleport to castle wars. in a members world. so we can get owned by the members. 5)more random members stuff that we cant get ourselves, but members can sell us for rediculously huge profits (ie armoured boots, coloured boots etc). this is a compromise, as they can make bigger profits out of this, but also keeps us f2p noobs entertained for another 5 minutes. for all those that feel the need to flame, just remember, its a wishlist, not a "we want/we deserve..." list. how about you write a list of what f2p "could" get, from a members perspective?
