as far as i am concerned, durial is right down there with macroers, item and password scammers. he purposely abused an in game bug to his own advantage, rather than reporting it and not exploiting it as he should. durial is not a legend. that is offensive to the true legends of this game. durial is infamous, that is all. i find the rat's interview with him to be stupid and pointless. the rat pretty much supports him for what he did. i believe he had no intention of giving the items he stole back to their original owners. to those who say otherwise, why did he give the items away to his friends? i also read something about him moving the green phat to a mule account. anybody that thinks he should not be banned is very very wrong. he should be banned like any other bug abused. not just a couple of days, or a week though: he should be banned for good. its the only just thing to do to compensate for the massive losses of others without a server rollback (which will not happen). i honestly hope he gets banned and doesnt come back. 6/6/06 will go down in runescape as a day of infamy. durial is not a legend.

i dont think jagex ever intended accounts to be mashed together. every account is expected to be individual, with no interaction. plus, it would just open up another avenue for account sharing/trading. i think this is a bad idea.

i think this would be a bad idea. the runescape community suffers from enough segregation as it is. we dont need another influence to further disrupt it.

i like the idea of having the level of the monsters variable, like the level of random events. and jagex did say they would introduce new armour, not just a normal rewards. and if the new armour is, say, a complete set of 4 (helm, shield, legs and plate), then we might get those final 4 banks spots. who knows...

ohhhh dont ruin my killing-big-monsters experience. for me, funky new training area = greater demons. funky new training area does not = lots and lots of giant rats, lvl 3 goblins and other low levelled fodder. oh well, i guess the mid-high level f2pers will be missing out...

i think this event has truly brought out the worst in the runescape community. from someone abusing a bug for personal gain (for which he should be banned for, anybody else would be banned for bug abuse), to those spamming the chat box to get rid of the mods text so more people get banned, to those that think durial is a "legend." infamous is the word, if not downright greedy and shallow. this day will go down in rs history, but not as a good one.

[/sarcasm] now, onto business. 1.)Where it will be located --- it will probably be around one of the major cities, as thats where most newbies/noobies/me congregate. edgeville doesnt make sense. 2.)What the new type of armor will be--- "I belive it will be a kite shield with the same stats as addy kite." wow, talk about a random guess. from the description, it sounds like a complete armour set, rather than an individual item. perhaps one part of the set per floor you finish (4 floors, a shield/helm/legs/plate on each of the floors). 3.)What beasts will be inside the area--- "I believe it will range from rats to lesser demons and if you kill lesser, you get special kite." again, you must be obsessed with the kiteshield for some reason. but i do hope for a big spread of monsters, from the lowly rat up to perhaps a greater demon? 4.) How will security fit into this edition--- to move onto the next floor, you will have to answer a security related question. now that makes more sense, doesnt it?

um... right. that comment makes lots of sense. i got a house icon on my minimap, and that constitutes a f2p update? hmm... yay f2p update! i dont care what it is, im just grateful jagex are taking the time to update f2p. it will give us something fun and new to do, so im sure every f2per out there will be very grateful.

as much as i wanna visit the houses of my p2p friends, im not sure if its possible, as it means that either a) i have to be logged in to a members world (which just isnt possible) or B) when i go to join my friend (assuming they are using the rimmington portal in the f2p area) it would have to automatically make me change worlds. im not sure if either of these would be possible.

i got full zombie, and then the emotes, then proceeded to drop the clothing. we dont need drastic amounts of more storage space, possibly only the last 4 spaces. however, i am sure many people (including myself) are able to manage with the current amounts of bank space. the last 4 spaces would be for convenience. members got more bank space because they the construction/POH update gave them hundreds of new items to manage. the genuinely needed it. we dont.

i think that this is a good idea, and it is probably possible for jagex to implement. but this probably should be moved to runescape discussions and suggestions...

its these kind of comments that we wanna discourage. it sounds a bit whiny. but seriously, along with neo's thread, this is one of the most thought out threads regarding f2p and updates that there has been in a while. both arguements are presented clearly. i have just one question for the author: if you were andrew gower, what changes to f2p would you make? i am interested to see what your answer is. f2p for life! (or the next year at least...)

for the first time, i tried connecting to both the chat via the tip.it site and through mirc, and in both cases, it says that zonealarm is blocking my connection. any ideas as to what settings i can change to allow me onto the chat?

i have to agree with bloodangel. runescape will end when jagex ends it, that is, when it stops being profitable.

im not sure if i would classify running through the wilderness as "easier"...
